Guest Reviews
- Nissanka (8/5): Cozzzy safari & glamping experience - Cozy & Interesting glamping experience in Willpattu National Park. Very professional and friendly staff. Excellent food (dinner and breakfast). Clean and comfortable tents. Tents definitely need Air Conditioning and an additional fan. Pathways to the dinning area should be properly lit specially since there can be creepy crawlies. Also directions should be marked
- Jo (9/5): A really unique and memorable glamping experience with great food and activities. - The stay was fantastic, and the glamping tent itself was really impressive and comfortable. The guided walks were a great bonus and very interesting, and the food was excellent, including the breakfast they packed for our safari. Overall, it felt like a really special experience. Nothing :)
- Lucas (9/5): Comfortable safari tented camp, with staff that goes above and beyond during monkey scratch - The tent with the living room was very comfortable. For a safari camp, it’s probably the best experience you could get in Sri Lanka today. Around sunset, we saw deer on the property, as well as squirrels, many different birds and a beautiful bright green chameleon.
We enjoyed the afternoon tea with local snacks and cookies, and the safari was organized very well! Amazing lunch provided and the naturalist was very knowledgeable about many animals. He even was the first out of many cars to spot a leopard and knew his hangout spots. During the safari a monkey jumped on one of us, and scratched my arm. The driver and naturalist had an emergency kit and cleaned the wound well.
Afterwards, the staff (especially Larry and the driver) went above and beyond escorting me to a nearby hospital to get the rabies vaccin. Since it’s a rural area no one at the hospital besides the doctor speaks English, so this was very much appreciated. He even checked in after our stay to make sure I was fine! Dinner could be improved upon. We had no à la carte options, so every night we would join a standard menu. Both nights were chicken and shrimps, serving a lot of people with the same food at the same time. It’s 5 courses, but on the first night each time the food came out lukewarm. The second night, we told them about this and every dish following was served warm - much better!

- Carolyn (10/5): -
- Annie (10/5): Magical - The food was exceptional along with great service from all of the staff making the stay very memorable. Nothing
- Craig (9/5): If need a minibar, tv, and AC, go elsewhere. BBB This was a wonderful, peaceful , low tech glamping experience. - Glamping safari theme and facilities were great! We would have loved a bigger and better shower in the deluxe tent but it worked well enough.
- Thibault (9/5): -
- Geert (10/5): Leuke locatie met mooie safari - Alle medewerkers zeer service gericht en alles top geregeld! Een klamboe zou het comfortabeler maken
- Sao San (8/5): -
- Dominique (10/5): A beautiful camp - Tent was huge, immaculate and extremely comfy! All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and huge portions. Loved this place! Nothing
- Catherina (10/5): Mega fed autentisk oplevelse - Meget autentisk og lokalt - god lokation ift. Wilpattu safaripark.
- Artem (9/5): Great camping before safari - Very comfortable glamping near Wilpattu Park
Team is very experienced, during safari we saw bear, leopard, a lot of different deers and birds.
Of course it is not a hotel and tents are not new, but they have own toilet+shower, electricity and are very safe: no insects inside.
It was comfortable for 1 adult and 2 children in one tent..
Excellent experience: you live like in 19th century expedition among the jungle, near big lake. We also liked night walk - very interesting for children.
Food is good, but set menu. Very long awaiting time for dinner and lunch.
However, for 2nd dinner team increased number of waiters and it was ok.
- Jane (7/5): Not as relaxing as we had hoped. - Lovely staff, good food and incredible birds. We didn’t realise that the place was so geared up for safaris- we thought we were just camping! But this is the only reason people go here it seems. The safari isn’t included in the price.
There was loud music in the night but we thought it came from a nearby village. There were mice in the tent at night which ate through a rucksack.
- delphine (8/5): -
- Joanna (10/5): - Amazing stay and great value for money. The staff were super helpful, the tent was very clean and there was plenty to do onsite, including an afternoon walk with a naturalist. The food was absolutely amazing, one of the best meals we ever had.
- Michelle (9/5): -
- Viktoria (9/5): A Memorable Safari Experience in the Wild - Our stay was a wonderful and immersive experience surrounded by nature and wildlife. The safari itself was very well organized, and the guides were knowledgeable and passionate, making the experience truly special. The camp was comfortable and well set up, and the hospitality was excellent. Overall, a great choice for an authentic and memorable safari adventure. While the food wasn’t the highlight, it was decent.
- Vincent (10/5): -
- Anne (9/5): - Very good naturalists.
- Thushara (8/5): Great - We were a group of 9 people and stayed for two nights. The breakfast was excellent — the caramelised coconut pancakes were the best I’ve ever had.
The staff were extremely friendly and very flexible in accommodating last-minute requests. The location is also great.
Overall, it was a very good camping-style experience with comfort, especially considering the jungle setting. A perfect balance between nature and convenience. Suggestions for improvement
There are currently no activities organized on site, which feels like a missed opportunity. Simple additions could greatly enhance the experience. For example, the bonfire could be much more engaging — having a guitarist play some light country or acoustic music and encouraging guests to gather around would make it far more enjoyable.
They could also consider introducing activities such as bicycle rentals (or free bikes), guided village tours, or other nature-based experiences.
While breakfast was excellent, lunch and dinner felt underwhelming in comparison. We were served the same starter for both meals, which became repetitive. The starters could be improved using low-cost local village produce such as cowpea and other traditional items, with better presentation.
Additionally, since dinners are served in a sit-down style, the waiting time between courses was quite long.
Tips for future guests
Bring some board games — the property has nice breakout and common areas that are perfect for them.
If you have time, visit a nearby natural water stream called Neela Bemma to bathe. It’s beautiful and clean, but check with the Eco team staff first to confirm whether the water level is suitable.
The coffee is not great, so if you’re particular about your coffee, it’s best to bring your own.
Not all safari guides offer the same quality experience. Try to request an experienced guide.
The morning safari allows you to stay longer inside the park, but you may miss the excellent breakfast, as the packed breakfast doesn’t compare to the fresh one served on site.
- Vanessa (10/5): Beautiful environmentally friendly stay in the jungle! - We absolutely loved our stay here! The facilities were so clean and comfortable (especially for glamping) and the hospitality was incredible. The food was always delicious and plentiful and the staff when above and beyond to make sure that we were happy. There were lots of added extras that we didn’t expect like free village and evening guided walks and tea/coffee with snacks. It is also so great to see how environmentally friendly and sustainable this place is - from always using glass water bottles to using coconuts to start fires. Brilliant! I would highly recommend a stay at this memorable and special place. Nothing. Highly recommend!
- diemont (10/5): Attention to detail - Unique safari experience
- francesco (8/5): -
- Maria Elisa (10/5): A lovely glamping experience to start off pur sri lanka trip - it was so clean and great organization
- Verbeek (10/5): - Great place, good team
- Anke (9/5): Into the wild! - The location in the wilderness, the bonfire, the beautiful safari tent… it was very nice!
- Tarek (10/5): -
- Roel de Haas (7/5): Nature camp site with extra's - The staff is super friendly and willing to stand out. Helping a family of four in need of extra hands. Holding umbrella's, carrying lugguage etc. Big thank you to the team!
The included night bush-walk was a good bonus! Good explanation, knowledgable. The facility is a bit worn out and don't do right to the pictures online. Ofcourse, it is a nature establishment. But this can not be used as an excuse for cleanlyness or so.
- Nick (10/5): - Overall service
- Sophie (9/5): In to the wildlife - The remote area, ,well arranged safari's,the nature gide, the well arranged tent , evening atmosfeer with bon fire We missed 2 outdoor chairs at coverd terrace of tent and maybe possibility of making some coffee or tea in tent
- Ageeth (9/5): - Mooie locatie in buurt van entree nationale parc.
- Jenni (9/5): -
- Marina (9/5): -
- Emma (9/5): Amazing glamping experience and safari was magical! - Food was lovely, the staff are incredible and so friendly.
Our safari that was included in our room rate was out of this world - we had a naturist guide us who answered so many questions and was constantly trying to find the best spots. We saw the Big 5 which even he was shocked about. He was SO good, honestly could not recommend him enough.
The tent was clean, and much larger than we thought! They had a shared area with books and games and a water cooler which was a nice extra as it had the option for cold water!
Our shower also had hot water which was nice! One tiny thing was that there must have been a hole in the tent somewhere as we had a mouse in our shower - we managed to scare him off but that was the only thing.
- Drusilla (10/5): - L’atmosfera e l’esperienza Nulla!
- Sigrid Dogger (9/5): -
- Jonathan (6/5): Not glamping but ok if you're a seasoned camper - Location v close to wilpattu
Evening meal good and nice communal atmosphere
Staff v friendly as everywhere
Great safari organised by hotel Whole site a bit jaded
Sanitary conditions poor..open drainage outside tents..smelly!
Lighting in tents inadequate
- Marco (5/5): -
- Fiona (4/5): It could be great but the safari quality they promise let it down - Situated in a beautiful space, restaurant staff are very friendly and food is lovely. U fortunately the beds were the worse I have ever slept in, in my life and o spent most of my childhood camping. It was like sleeping on rock hard wood and bars. The safari really was terrible. The guide did not speak at all and they rode past everything really fast. We kept asking them to stop but they would not. As a result the other 3 jeeps that were out alongside us saw 2 leopards and our driver drove past and refused to stop. The morning walk I was told to get up for at 6am never happened even though we booked far in advance they just had no staff to take us and left me waiting 20 minutes for it to begin.
- Jesper (10/5): - Fantastisk personale.Meget hjælpsomme og imødekommende.
Super “cozy” telt beliggende i et dejligt område.
Godt privat space = teltene ligger med god afstand.
- Erik (7/5): - Location, safari tents and dinner! It is close to wilpattu NP ( around 7 km) and therefor main reason we booked it!. However in the morning, around 05.00, you have tea and wait for a long time at the location instead of going to the park already. This resulted in waiting in a row for the entrance of over an hour. Finally entering the park too late, after 0700. Price of accomodation combined with tour is relative expensive!
- Keith (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay amongst nature. - Lovely people and a lovely relaxing place to stay. The food was great and served by candlelight made our stay very special.
- Fred (7/5): Bijzondere ervaring.
- Rutger (7/5): Avontuurlijk verblijf is leuke clamping tenten.
- Ulrik (6/5): - Nice location, tasty food, friendly staff Rooms very warm, quite messy with the payments.
What would be really nice would be to place a couple of chairs in front of each tent.
- Erica (10/5): - Il miglior alloggio in Sri Lanka!
- Richard (8/5): - Natuur, rustig, schoon
- Ilona (5/5): Good glamping, terrible safari + customer service experience - The tents are nice, very comfortable and it’s a fun experience if you’ve never been glamping. The safari experience was a disaster. Firstly, they say to be ready at 5:30am and they serve tea and terrible coffee at 5:15am. But they didn’t actually put us in jeeps until almost 6:30 and then we drove to the entrance parking lot of Wilpattu Park and waited there for another hour while the drivers bought entrance tickets. They could have easily gone to the park, bought the tickets and then drove the tourists out. That’s what you’re paying a higher price for, in my opinion. Although I booked with a “guided safari,” I was put in a jeep with no guide and a driver who didn’t speak any English. It was only because another guide I found asked a family who had a guide if I could joint, which was awkward to put them on the spot like that. Luckily, they were kind. Dealing with this company had been unpleasant. They take no responsibility, admit no fault, and blame the staff at the campsite, which is just bad form and unfair. The staff showed me prof that they received guidance to not give me a guide. Anyway, if you want to glamp, go for it, but save your money and get a safari elsewhere!!
- Daniel (9/5): - We really liked this hotel. The complex is fantastic. The evening bonfire meal is an excellent touch. The tents inside are warm, as their is no aircon (only fans).
- Carla (8/5): -

- Shepherd (8/5): Lovely stay comfortable and different - It’s was very nice and different. The safari was seamless and good a good guide who spoke good English. We saw elephants in the distance, crocs, water buffalo’s, mongoose, hares. We didn’t see leopards or sloths. It was very expensive, it’s an experience to glamp but not sure it’s worth the price during peak season.
Personeel was fantastisch.
Sfeer was geweldig.
1 nacht is echt voldoende.

- Naomi (9/5): Defenitely recommended - The tents are spacious and quite luxurious. You could even have a hot shower, which I was surprised by. The staff is wonderful and so helpful. The location is perfect, quiet and in nature. For the safari, we had a wonderful time. Great guide and driver. We left on time as well. I told them I'm lactose intolerant. At dinner this was taken care of, they asked me with every meal if it was okay. But with the breakfast it was forgotten I think..
- Juliette (10/5): Séjour parfait :) - Emplacement parfait. Le personnel était très gentil et attentionné. Le safari organisé était super ! On recommande 100% :)
- Esmée (9/5): Heerlijk - Een heerlijk verblijf in prachtige luxe tenten. Verwarmde douche aanwezig.
- Anastacia (10/5): - We traveled here as a family with our teenage sons. It was a great way to explore the Willpattu national park as they provided us with a guide and driver to identify animals. We were pampered "camping" in a large tent with attached bathroom, electricity, and beautifully prepared meals on white tablecloths. We loved our stay so much that we booked another stay with them at one of their other sites. Nothing, it surpassed my expectations
- kerryn (5/5): Would not go back there. The restaurant staff were hopeless - Safari vehicle and the guide, tent Complete confusion among staff because of two brands. Staff had no idea !! Took one hour and a half for table next to us to get their soup they ordered 3 times and we had 3 courses in the meantime
