Guest Reviews
- Timothy (10/5): - Pretty resort, but I overslept and missed the breakfast. Room could use a little renovation, but it was clean and quiet
- Randal (4/5): - Had to change room due to construction. New room was okay after I figured out the sewer smell was coming from the tub drain. I called maintenance and the sprayed air freshener. The next room I had was infested with ants. A he air conditioner was blowing hot and leaking. Maintenance came and it blew colder . Had to use trash can to keep my room from flooding.
- Susanette (10/5): - Everything
- Horace (10/5): - Secluded but fantastic services
- Scott (10/5): - Very peaceful. Enjoy the restaurant on property. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
- carolineblomstd (10/5): A good restaurant with seaview - Good service, decent vibe, amazing food.
I'll get a nice pizza with a glass of ice coffee. The cook has never disappointed me.
Be aware that they are pretty busy during their lunch hours because they offer lunch specials. But outside of lunch hours you can walk in and get a table for 2 or 4 with a minimal wait.
I've recommended time and time again to friends visiting. And the price is very affordable and fair for the food they serve.
Many plants around the restaurant with a nice Seaview!
- Lalaine (10/5): - We enjoyed the coco restaurant a lot. The food and service were great. The fruit drinks were excellent! However, we saw a rat twice during a dinner, and a stray cat that was lingering near tables. That is unclean and unsanitary. The staff didn’t do anything about it. That is a need for improvement, especially if you want to keep international travelers enjoying their stay and recommending your resort to others.
- Remelin (10/5): - It was great! But I wish the TV was clear.
room needs renovation.
- Doug (8/5): - We stayed two more nights
- Martin (10/5): - Always a pleasure staying here. Pools and restaurant is A
- Benjamin (10/5): - Enjoyed the seaside view during the morning breakfasts. Room was perfect for purpose of visit. Staff was a bit busy as it was holiday season with many different events.
- Scott (8/5): - Wish there was a kettle in my room for coffee
- Miguel (8/5): - Beautiful resort and atmosphere.
- Martin (6/5): - This hotel is a nightclub ..we stayed 3 nights and every single night there was partys going on with full blast music blaring out . ..its that bad the hotel room walls were vibrating with the bass. They dont care about guests getting a peacefull stay its all about the money they make from the PRIVATE partys every night .. totally inconsiderate. . Would definitely NOT recommend staying here if you want a nice chill out stay or if you have children .. its such a shame cus the place has nice swimming pool s and great staff
- Demore (10/5): - Fabulous little place
- Max (8/5): - It was good
- Mrbillone (8/5): Had a nice stay. - Had a pleasant stay. Extremely friendly staff. Rooms are a little older but kept up nice. Beds are very comfortable. Overall the food was very good, but had some mashed potatoes that tasted like soap. Never in my life had I tasted so bad. We ordered a 1 pax entree that turned into a 4 pax. Of course, as in the Philippines, whatever is brought to you, your mistake or theirs, you're paying for it. Not in the most ideal location with a busy hiway, and the beach area is very small. Still had a nice stay.
- David (8/5): - Good for resort food good pools nice
- Ma Liza (8/5): - They need to update the bed and bathroom!! Thanks
- Maria Roche Barriga (10/5): - Friendly
- david (8/5): - The people who work here are great..
The restaurant has good pizza and the food is high quality and cooked the right way..
I got food in under 20 minutes 3 times..even once it was crowded..
Thats almost unheard of here in the Phils.
This place is really convenient for Port Danao..
- Maria (2/5): - Room was dirty , there were lots of ants , saw a rat in the restaurant
- SUSAN (10/5): - Convenience to transportation and shopping.
Excellent staff. Gym and swimming pools!
- Bill (10/5): - A resort snuggled away next to the ocean resulting in a romantic setting for us. From the staff to the amenities they went above and beyond. The massage was amazing just like the diner and then to top the night off we even did a little karaoke. An amazing place I'd recommend
- Joseph (6/5): - I've stayed here several times over the years and have found it to be an Oasis in the desert of poverty. It's like Dorothy stepping into Munchkin Land. Unfortunately, this time I received on my credit card, three charges amounting to around 32 dollars. Not a huge sum...but unexplainable.
- Girlie (8/5): - The staff are very friendly.breakfast is verygood.
- Christopher (10/5): - Enjoyed my stay , relaxing with beach and pool swimming
Restaurant had great foods and friendly staff . I definitely recommend and will be staying again
- Randy (10/5): - Every time I am in Danao I book a room at The El Salvador resort. It's very nice. I especially like the pools. The food at the restaurant is always delicious. I want to thank Vrete at the front desk. She is a very sweet person and helped me when I was having a problem. Thanks for taking time to chat with me Vrete. It meant the world to me. Looking forward to staying here again.
- Maylene (8/5): - the beach area nice scenario.,blanket for extra bed so thin.,
- Benjamin (8/5): - The location is convient, staff is friendly, and rooms are well kept and comfortable.
- donald (4/5): - Need upgrades , toilet and bath, tv and some amenities
- pierre (10/5): - Parking needs help. The rest of our stay was awesome.
- David (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay there very much.
- SUSAN (10/5): - The fitness center was not as advertised. Some of the equipment was either not working or dangerous to use.
- Scott (10/5): - Great food at the restaurant. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Very peaceful having coffee in the morning.
- Ariel (8/5): - The facilities are rather outdated.
- philipgK8755HF (2/5): Not the best - I use the restaurant often, because there are so few places to eat in this area. But it is never a good experience. The venue is very good, but the food and service is abysmal. It is not possible to speak with the manager in the evenings because the manager is not available and it’s a waste of time speaking to any member of staff. The food is invariably cold even though it has been reheated. Visiting as a family of three, we often eat separately as the meals are not prepared together. Also, sometimes the soft drinks do not arrive, but they are always on the bill. Not the worst, but certainly not the best
- Philip (10/5): - Great room and beach
- Y2160RHkatrinam (2/5): Waitress AYEN has the worst customer services, so rude!!! - So, I really hope the owner of this resort most importantly the Coco Restaurant will be able to read this. My family decided to spend our Good Friday in this resort as we have been a regular as well. For the breakfast, this waitress Ayen was so rude and told me that I should not cross the stairs since I’m freakin wet! I should get my food from the outside so I won’t be drippin their super, squeaky clean floor. FYI this is restaurant is in a resort, of course, you can’t expect your guests to be in coat or evening gown. I was just speechless on how she approached me, when in fact in other resorts, waiters would even welcome their guests with towels if they don’t want their floor to get wet, or just say it in a nice way. This AYEN is so rude that it makes me feel so degraded, maka menus kaau sya, the other waitress even approached me, I told her how can I get food from the outside when the plates are inside? The other waitress kindly said ‘mam you’re not dripping wet, you can come in’
Our vacation was supposedly good, we usually have a good time here at El Salvador, and this waitress Ayen just ruined our mood. FYI, you can check or observe other restaurants in resorts like Dusit Thani and Jpark, pls observe their properly trained waiters, they have the best customer service, no wonder, they are world class. I really felt the difference. So, next time I won’t settle for less. I mind you guys, even if the food is not delicious but the service is excellent, customers will always remember that and it keeps them coming. But for
Today, this incident, it will really remain and I’ll share my experience to everyone!
- David (8/5): - Stayed many times. Aircons are not as strong as i would like.
- Agnes (10/5): - The only thing I can compain is that during weekend the resort is quite noisy especially in the pool side till late in the evening. Otherwise, we are very much satisfied during our stay here. For sure we will come back again.
- TREVOR (8/5): Nice place - I went back after a 9 day break back to dame room at the pool side for another 8 days . Music nearly every night Parties. If you want quite go somewhere else
Maintenance needs to be proactive. A/C had mould in the evaporator which affects respiratory. My next door neighboursA/c was covered in mould like mine. Apart from that all ok staff was great.
- TREVOR (10/5): Enjoyable - Everything you need was ok.
Cleaning was always there .
I just wish the bar would turn there fridge down for cold drinks.
- Peter (10/5): - Good people, good food for the Philippines, nice breakfast buffet, good pool. Romeo at breakfast.MJ at dinner.
- Reinilda (8/5): - Needs fixing in most of their rooms and staff training should be provided for more knowledge of what they are doing. Reception staff is alright but the kitchen staff should be thought more and manager should be hands on as a role model for all the staff.
- Maria Roche Barriga (10/5): - Nice
- olafredholm (2/5): Warning! Like living in the middle of a theme park! - So many errors with this hotel.
First: The name is a sham! There is no beach at all connected to the hotel. To be honest there are no beaches nearby at all. They do have a maybe 50 meter connection to the sea squeezed in between two big concrete walls, but that should be more considered as a torned down harbour with a rocky coastline if anything. Often with lot of garbage floating close to shore.
Secondly: The hotel tries to make money out of external events hiring their grounds, which happens to be all of the common areas left outside your own room like the pool area. We stayed there for eight nights (15-23/5 2022) and from 8am to 11pm there were about two to four events every day making noice and playing loud music constantly. Often at the same time. In a very limited area there could be a private birthday party playing live music, a private student celebration with a DJ and by "the beach" a private fitness event playing loud bass music - all at the same time. So to try to relax was impossible. When that stopped around 11pm it was almost a relief just to hear the constant noice from the heavily trafficked road right outside the reception.
Talk about reception, the third problem: Their wifi sucks big time! We were there working and it was impossible to do our jobs properly using the room wifi that was crashing most of the time. I know that the Philippines are not Europe, but since the wifi in the reception was always working, it depends more on poor equipment than the bandwidth. Maybe they could use some of the event money they earn and put in new equipment?
Lastly: The service in the restaurant is terrible. To get food under an hour even if it is almost empty is impossible. And to get everyone served at the table at the same time never happened. But that seems to be a general Philippino thing.
The room cleaning has also more to wish for. It is hard sometimes too se if they even has done anything more than just make the bed. But at least they filled up the toothbrushes. I think I had four untouched at the end... If they would put that efficacy in all they did, it would not make up for the constant sound pollution and the false name, but at least skip some irritation.
With all this said, if you like to live in the middle of an amusement park - this is the place!
- Elsa (8/5): - The staff are friendly, food is good & service is fast.
- Steve (10/5): - Restaurant and staff were excellent. Any issues we had the correct them quickly.
The only big dislike was internet was down for most of our two weeks.
- stephen (10/5): - The people there are just the most wonderful helpful everyone of them
- Mark (10/5): - It is always a pleasure to come back to Elsalvador Beach Resort. It is like a second home, a place near my wife's family and an excellent place to entertain them. I have visited at least once a year since 2015, sometimes more. The free breakfast never fails to get me started on the right foot. The peaceful seascape and property foilage is wonderful. Someone obviously loves this place. Fine white beach sand it is not and hot showers it is not, but it has many other positives. There are more comfortable and economical options in Cebu city, but this is Danao and your choices are very limited and this is the best of the best! Enjoy, remember it is third world and enjoy what they have to offer, not what you left at home. I have stayed in the economy rooms many times and stayed pool side this time at twice the cost. The room was twice as big with a very very firm western mattress and box spring and four foam filled pillows. I left the beauty rest black and memory foam at home. The room is pleasant and the shower spacious, just no hot, not even warm water. The pool water is cooler, though, refreshing and clean. Room was with mini fridge coffee maker and clean fresh towels. I always travel with my own sheets and pillow cases and leave them behind as gifts. The restaurant is wonderful, a complete selection of Philippino delish at very attractive prices. They cater to local events, weddings, birthday parties and family swim days, so there is usually fun happenings.
- Marizza (10/5): - Great place and friendly staff. Make ys feel at home
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Food at Elsa restaurant is good, service is good. Suggest renovate rooms , improve room lighting, , improve especially the bathroom, should hv shower curtain so that the whole bathroom won’t get wet & slipperyafter someone take a shower.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The food is delicious
- Anthony M (10/5): - The food in the restaurant was excellent. The entire resort staff was excellent and very friendly.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Poor WIFI connection in our room. The service is just ok but not excellent. Some staff are great but others - they need coaching in terms of customer service
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff are there to make you happy and are so acomadating.
- Keith (6/5): - Good pool area, friendly staff, room was a little small and not the cleanest. Food was good, AC was excellent, TV was good.
- ExpoNationals (8/5): Nice resort - Lovely resort in Danao City on the island of Cebu in the Philippines. I have visited Elsalvador Resort a couple of times with family and friends. Their location is terrific. They have nice facilities and amenities. Plenty of stuff to do for both children and adults. The food at their restaurant is yummy. Prices are reasonable. No complaints from me.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - it looks tropical difficult to find hotel like it
- jamesmL4924NC (4/5): Here for friend’s wedding - only weak WIFI in room 221 - When I was booking the hotel boasted WIFI available and free in my deluxe room choice. But not the case. I get 1 to 2 bars on my cell and the WIFI fails completely on my MacBook air. After two calls to the front desk this morning still no satisfactory WIFI. The best they could do was ask their “technician to reset the WIFI and call us back in 5 minutes”. Otherwise they suggested I come to the lobby where the signal was better. They also suggested they could move me to a room closer to the lobby. Which pretty much means my current room will never have good WIFI.
End result. Elsalvador Beach Resort tells you they have WIFI in every room but it’s a bit of a lie or false advertising.
- Alex (10/5): - Nice place to stay if your visiting someone in Danao, Carmen or passing through. Comfortable room, helpfull and friendly staff, nice looking pool area.
- 182michellez (8/5): Resort with great food and rooms and very serviceminded stafd - We always stay at Elsalvador everytime we are visiting in Danao.
You get great value for your stay with Coco Restaurant with great food, clean and beautiful rooms, very helpful staff who always kindly greet the guests. We were so warmly welcomed by a male receptionist on the 4th August. We did not get his name, but the guy is a future bright star in the hospitality business. He was curtious and very welcoming. His service is world class!!
Jackie in the restaurant and the smiley lady receptionist during our stay are keepers.Give this guy and two ladies a promotion/salary raise!!They were very helpful and service minded during our stay.We will definitly come back to
Elsalvador because of them.
The only minus was the loud AC in room 202, and a loud and gossiping housekeeping lady on the 13th Aug. who talked bad about customer in Bisaya, which I can understand even if I live overseas.
We will come back in Elsalvador very soon again.
- cresNdenmark (6/5): Suite room 222: Shower area needs a curtain - It's so annoying when all the water is splashing all over the bathroom whule you are taking a bath because the shower area is poorly designed.
WIFI: When the the connection is down, then expect to have no internet for minimum three days, that's how long it takes for them to fix the internet connection problem.
HYGIENE is okay. The sliding door was very dirty and looked like it had not been washed for years🤔.
RESTAURANT: the best place to be for dining. Their food is delicious. And the staff are very friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful gardens and a feeling of exclusivity . Excellent swimming pool for adults and separate one for children
- raymond (8/5): the last minute grab - the hotel fully booked so at the last minute we grabbed a "discount" room one of only two available at the time. Very small and the wifi was poor to "0" but this was expected because of the discount price and room area, the staff and service excellent, the food was great and the hot shower added nicely to the room
overall i would do it again but bigger room. Only let down was a small beach area, but the pools made up for that x 2
- thefilipinobulldog (10/5): Wonderful cheap alternative to shangrila mactan - Walking through the lush greenery of this small resort, i am reminded of shangrila mactan albeit in a smaller scale.
Rooms are large and amenities are complete although not luxurious. There is bath gel, shampoo, soap, toothbrush. However, you may want to bring your own. As to the room, if you pick the residence room 114, u get a micowave and complete cooking facilities.
Breakfast is a buffet and quite good. With danggit and an omellete station. And a view by the bay. There are not very many activities in and around the hotel so you stay in.
There are swimming pools. But i didnt try them.
- David (10/5): - Great place to stay. Restaurant very good food. Air con units a bit average. Great service
- Verified traveler (4/5): Modernise and will be a very good hotel - Had to upgrade room as too small and low hard bed with nothing else in room. Could just about open bathroom door. And a window showing a tall grey wall 3feet away. Upgrade was more spacious and better mattress. (Though paid 3× what i was quoted for upgrade. I'll put it down to a language barrier).
Same old awful and noisey aircon in both rooms. Ants were a constant scene, travelling around the whole room from the aircon. Also given 2 body towels but no hand towels for sink and charged for extra towels.
Outside garden area was very clean and maintained. Pools were cleaned with what looked like a water vacuum. Unsure how often is emptied and cleaned properly as looks dirty and grainy, but could be due to the close surrounding greenery.
Jacuzzi was never seen on and also looked dirty. When asked when is on was told 'later' this was asked around 4pm.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL UPON LEAVING. mine was showing as 16000pesos and was only suppose to be around 6000 due to errors.
Only one spa treatment assistant though advertised everywhere. So unable to use trying to book 4people
Staff were friendly enough throughout the hotel.
Don't use the hotels taxi. It will cost you as much as england.
The best part of this hotel was the coco restaurant. Food was excellent and a good variety. Though ice cream shakes are ice then cream on top so more like a chilled flavoured milk
- Stuchie (8/5): We only dined here - There was a group of seven of us that dined here in an open air setting. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. For all of us to dine there with drinks it cost only about 2,500P or $68AUD. The surroundings were marvelous and even though there was some sort of reunion going on, it was still good. We might stay there next time.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Had a pleasant stay.all staff member were very helpfull to our needs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): An Oasis on the North Road - This resort stands out as the jewel in the crown that is the area north of Cebu up to Carmen. Granted, it’s a jewel that has tarnished and could do with polishing, but the best of a bad bunch of establishments up that coastline.
The beds are comfortable with great pillows and non-allergic bedding. The DeLuxe room we stayed in was equipped with a bar fridge (two complimentary bottles of water every day), a safe, coffee kit, flat-screen TV and air conditioner. The room was clean and comfortable which is what you need.
Staff were friendly and cheerful and willing to assist in any way possible. The Coco restaurant is apart from the hotel and overlooks the sea. It’s a rare privilege to eat breakfast at this covered, but open air restaurant while looking out to sea. The gardens are beautifully landscaped around the two sparkling pools.
Food at the restaurant is wholesome home cooking with the a la carte menu offering a wide selection of local dishes as well as some ‘foreigner food’ although vegetarians won’t find much to choose from.
The air conditioner was noisy, but not unbearably so. The basin had was chipped, painted over and then chipped again and was corroded around the plug hole. Black mould was evident around the bath and hot water was a rare luxury. Water pressure is also an issue
This resort is a popular function venue, so it's noisy most evenings. The function guests jam up restaurant. A car is necessary to get to the shops.
- MikeCarmona (10/5): Great resto fronting the beach - Love the food here, local and western dishes at great value. Top notch service as well. This is the only place where you can entertain for business in this area. Located inside El Salvador beach resort.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was very nice. We loved the restaurant. The are around was nice and getting around was easy. The only negative was the garden room we reserved. This room has a foul odor and is unsafe. Room 113 should be condemned.
- S (10/5): - Excellent hotel with good food.
- J860CHalans (10/5): Hidden Gem in Danao - Highly recommended to stay here as it seems so small, but after you exit the main building it is very large and clean resort. Several pools and great food on the beach. Will definitely visit again soon
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A sea of tranquility in an ocean of stress and confusion.
- Hamish967 (6/5): Lunch - Busy beach side restaurant. I had the seafood pasta.
Plenty of seafood and pasta was nice.
Service was friendly.
Good wifi and pleaelsent environment.
Would I return, for sure ill use it for luncheon any time im in the area.
- RenzoTravel (10/5): Quick get away - Elsavador beach resort
Elsalvador is amazing! They have a nice and affordable rooms, clean cr and cool facilities.
2 swimming pools which is very nice.
One for adult
One for kids
And also a very good beach. Staffs are amazing especially at the Coco restaurant!
Affordable price and delicious foods.
They also have a salon/spa and a little gym for weights and exercise.
It’s our second visit already and looking forward to for more!
Overall, the place is excellent. Peaceful and relaxing with great food and staff.
Kudos to Neil (the all around staff) for helping us in our stay.
Cheers!
Rhenzo,
- Larry (8/5): Very nice resort - Very nice resort. The economy rooms are small but ok, bathrooms are small. When using shower floor tiles are very slippery, put towel on floor. Restaurant there is very good with great view.
- Noel (10/5): - When I arrived I was treated very well. All the staff are very courteous and helpful.the food was very nice.
Overall I was very happy there and would definitely return there in the future
- Sebastian-HongKong (10/5): Wonderful place to get away from it all - Decided to get away from it all and relax for a few days. The El Salvador Beach Resort is just a few minutes trike ride to Danao City and proved to be a wonderful choice. It was quiet, clean, peaceful with a family atmosphere and both the staff and guests were friendly and easy going and happy to chat to pass the time.
The hotel is about an hour's car ride from the airport and is far from the hustle and bustle of Cebu city which really adds to it's charm as it gives visitors a chance to experience real Philippines hospitality. To see what living in a small rural town is like take a 10 minute trike ride from the hotel to Danao City and walk through the bustling market and watch the locals as they go through their daily activities.
The staff were always available and very helpful to deal with any requests that I had especially with organizing the car to and from the Mactan-Cebu airport.
- mjt779 (8/5): Solo Travel - I love the facilities, food is great and the room is so cozy but I don't like the beach. The staffs are accomomdating and friendly. If you want to relax and chill this place is great. Just 1 hour maximum away from Cebu City. If this place is in one of the beautiful shoreline of Cebu this will be PERFECT!!! All in all i give it a 4/5.
- D2498PUjoeb (8/5): Service is a lost art - Found this place by accident and was blown away. I am from NYC I spent 30+ years in a Wall Street type job with an expense account. At times I was reprimanded for not entertaining enough. So I consider myself knowledgeable about hospitality. From our first three day stay where Elmer and Romeo made us feel so welcome to our second two week plus stay I cannot rave about the staff enough. From top down from Romeo to Robert to Adrian and especially Mark Joseph who dropped what he was doing to attend to us; it is hard in my memory to find another instance abroad where I was treated better. Ok the restaurant is not 5 star but the food is varied and tuned to many a palate and although I could not find one thing the cooks’ did exceptionally well, the list of entree’s they did very well is too long to list. Once again service, I hardly had to ask for a refill as my server was almost always there with it before I asked. Particular example this morning I had pancakes there was not maple syrup out, by the time I got back to my seat and stirred my fresh cup of coffee Romeo was by my side with maple syrup I did not ask. The last 9 months I have spent 40+ hotel days on Cebu island. A hot shower was an adventure at other hotels, only two times at El Salvador I was inconvenienced having to wait 20-30 minutes for a hot water fix. Only complaint is same at every hotel I stayed at in Cebu is the towels, never enough in the room and no hand towels. To me a beach resort should have ample towels available at every turn. But it has been my experience at other places and at this resort that the towel police prevail. So you pay a few extra sheckels for extra towels for the sea and the pool, if that is my only complaint they must be doing a pretty decent job but an annoyance to prevent me from giving them a 5 star review. All in all just a super place to stay. Service is the key.... oh spent one night in an economy room do not recommend the cheap room it was cheap.
- Jahanne Chrielle (8/5): Awesome wedding venue - My friend had this hotel as their wedding reception. Food is tasty. The ambiance is relaxing. The design of the rooms has the modern contemporary feel.
- fe teresa (2/5): We were not a happy camper fo the amount of money. - not impressive at all, mediocre. Tv was out no immediate respond. Wifi access very slow. Beach accessible but swimable. Swimming pool did not look clean. Dissapointed.
- Emma (8/5): Friendly staff really clean. - The staff made the visit. Really helpful nothing was a bother. I would go again.
- Jaime (10/5): Nice hotel - Hotel was just what we needed for the night. Great price, good location and staff was very accommodating. Pool and food were good too.
- Pauline (8/5): - Pleasant stay. Bit noisy at times due to number of private functions in the outside beach and pool areas.
- JesCColl (8/5): Accommodating Staff, Great Food, Pleasantly Comfortable and Cozy - Spent the Easter 2018 weekend @El Salvador and we did not regret staying.
The kids had a lot of fun, the sea was very nice because of the high tide and while the pool was not super sparkling clean, you see the staff cleaning as much as they can.
Toilet had a little issue, but maintenance was easily available even at around 9pm+, they took care of it.
Kudos to the staff and thank you for a really good vacation.
- Keith (8/5): Peaceful resort - The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. Food was excellent. Always peaceful and save at the resort.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The stay was great. Very elegant. The food and service were great too
- gtp-op75 (6/5): Comfortable overnight stay - Stayed overnight. The room we had overlooked the pool and was quite near reception. It was pleasant and we slept well. Bathroom and toilet space a bit tight. Had lunch, dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. It was quiet season when we were there hence things weren't rushed. Staff were generally helpful and courteous. Wifi in room was good however in restaurant area depends on numbers logging on.
- pete (6/5): Ok hotel - Check in ok not enough towels charged for more no quilt on bed only a sheet to cover my self no fridge in room restaurant staff very nice friendly food good over all an average experience.
- Chris (8/5): - Very tropical resort with 2 great pools
Staff are friendly and helpful
- Tre (6/5): Nice hotel but... - Great hotel however, my wife was told a lower fee on the phone. When she gets there they double it. Was told its 100 php per head extra and then my wife got there they said 200 or 250 php. Always get a receipt with this place. Unless you like to pay for people skimming off the top while making up their own prices.
Its a good thing I was not there and was still in the U.S.
- Petta (8/5): Nice place for a relaxing getaway - Very nice an quiet place. Nice pools and jacuzzi. Very good place for a romantic getaway. The only little drawback is the beach if you prefer swimming in the ocean.
- frank (6/5): - room very small nice pool. at 5:00 pm went to pool. hotel light trash pile that filled court yard with smoke for 45minutes. and was not a cheap room for philippines about 50 usd per night. did like it just that was clearly plastic and bad smoke out
wifi are not working for whole 24hours that im there
- Lorelei (8/5): Elsalvador stay - Facility was clean, staff really helpful and food was really good
- Mark (10/5): **** The Place To Stay In Danao - Flew to the other side to for 4 days to celebrate my father-in-laws 50th birthday. Not a lot of choices in Danao and I have stayed the others. The El Salvador Resort is honest, you get wha is advertised and what you paid for. Someone loves this place, as there is no corner left untouched by loving hands. The included breakfast buffet is magnificient, in a resort setting shoehorned in a third world counrtry. Three choices of fruit each morning, three choices of meat, a soup, bread and toast, two choices of juice and a short order cook offering to make eggs to order, including omelettes. The resturant is very clean and the view is precious, morning fisherman off the beach, passing ships in the straights and Leyte and Bohol in the distance. The other meal choices are extremely reasonable. This is a wonderful place to have a party! There are also two beautiful pools and the grounds are spectacular compared to other resort choices in the Philippines. One could stay in Cebu and find a more comfortable room, for less, but not be in Danao or have a resort setting. Filopino transportation choices are at the front door, jeeps and tricycles to jet in and out of Danao and V-hire (50p) or bus from Danao into SM Mall in Cebu. Third Sunday in September is the annual "Karasa" festival... crouded, but fun. Very safe, friendly, clean.. and most of all HONEST!!! I highly recommend this place and I have travelled extensively throughout the Philippines and the world.
