Guest Reviews
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Alicia (10/5): It was awesome - The view and the bed. Flapping tents too close together
- Dylan (10/5): Great stay and great service - What a beautiful view. The service is great and soap products offered are local. We had the beds in the 2 twins configuration and the beds aren’t the most comfortable
- Patrick (10/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): Amazing staff, food, and location. - Amazing location for hiking, biking, skiing, and snow shoeing
- Gillian (10/5): Mount Engadine is a place I return to again and again. - I’ve been to Mount Engadine many times over the years, and it truly never disappoints. I’ve stayed in the lodge, the cabins, and the glamping tents, in every season, and each experience has been just as magical as the last.
The scenery is absolutely spectacular, no matter the time of year. The service is consistently exceptional - kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. And the food is always delicious. I so appreciate how thoughtfully they accommodate my dietary restrictions without ever compromising on quality or flavour.
Mount Engadine is one of my favourite places to return to, and I already look forward to my next visit. 💛
- Bill F (10/5): Excellent in all ways. - The food was delightful. The rental skis were perfect for cross-country skiing. The staff at the Lodge were very accommodating and knowledgeable of the area. I can't think of any concerns or dislikes.
- Gary (10/5): -
- Pancholia (10/5): - Everything was just the best !! We would highly recommend to all and we shall visit again !! None
- Corey (9/5): Excellent overall - the setting and the service was tremendous. Would highly recommend. - Tremendous location. Wonderful staff. The all inclusiveness made it a very hassle free getaway. Bed was super comfy but pillows were oddly overstuffed and stiff which made for a bit of neck cranking sleep. Food was very good, but a couple of fresher ingredients would make it excellent.
- Kristine (10/5): So happy we discovered this gem of a lodge in our backyard. Highly recommend! - Wonderful, unique experience. Food was exquisite and plentiful. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. They even managed to whip up a non-fish dinner option as we sat down for dinner and realized we'd forgotten to mention my husband's fish allergy. Only minor thing was that the left side of the king mattress in the Owl room was a tad saggy.
- Kasia (9/5): -
- Garrett (10/5): - Best spot to stay when visiting Canadian Rockies
- richard (10/5): - What a wonderful experience at a homey, welcoming place! Afternoon tea and a lunch to go in addition to a real breakfast and full dinner.
The view is spectacular with the opportunity to view wildlife from the deck.
- Nicola (10/5): -
- Karine (10/5): Amazing! - Our stay at the lodge was delightful in every way! We wish we had stayed 3-4 days instead of just 1 night. All the food was outstanding - every meal - truly a highlight. The setting is gorgeous - we saw a moose in the meadow. The bed was so comfy. The interior of the lodge is charming and comfortable. Nice to stay in a quiet remote location. Didn’t feel crowded at all. Easy access to hikes. Tent Ridge was spectacular - even better with the packed lunch they provided. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone. We can’t wait to come back!
- Naomi (10/5): - We loved our stay. It was a quiet reprieve from the city.
- DANI (9/5): Loved it - Location, view, staff, food
- Todd (10/5): - If you like to be off the beaten path, in nature, have peace and quiet. and meet interesting people… This is the place to be
5 star
- Fiona (9/5): -
- Aidan (10/5): Make the trip, stay a while and enjoy! - Amazing location right in the thick of the Kananaskis wilderness. The lodge is located remote but within short commute of Canmore. While the road is unsealed (and in some areas in rough condition during our visit) t’s generally well kept and easy driving. Views on the way in, at the lodge, and waking up to are worth it! Packed lunch was awesome too! Make sure you plan your day just right to make the most of the afternoon tea.
Rien
- Evelyn (10/5): Wonderful Stay for first time visitor - Lovely quiet peaceful backcountry lodge. Dinner and breakfast is included and it is FABULOUS. Welcoming helpful staff. Cozy facility. I loved every minute.
- Tamir (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): Wonderful backcountry stay but with all the comforts of home. - The property was situated along a meadow and close to numerous hiking trails. The room was clean, lodge was cozy, and the bed in our room was amazing! The food was excellent and plentiful (loved the afternoon charcuterie board)! The staff were great!! We will definitely be back. Nothing!
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - The scenery was breathtaking, the staff was wonderful and food was delicious.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - The meals were outstanding. The chef’s talents made each sitting personable and inclusive, especially to our two year old Bulldog. The entire team made us feel welcome and comfortable. They happily shared their stories and enjoyed ours.
- Wendy (9/5): Fabulous experience at a lovely location - Lovely location, beautiful room, great staff and tasty food. Roads to the property were not good.
- Steven (10/5): - Stay was excellent, Staff were great, friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious, Great experience! Would do it again
- Garrett (10/5): - Favorite place to stay when in the Canmore area. The views, meals and staff are all excellent.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Badarinath (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the location, hospitality, people and the stay! Amazing to witness such a beautiful stay! Felt vegetarian food could have been better for a main course dinner
- Michael (10/5): - Beautiful scenery
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sumukh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (7/5): Beautiful place, warm and cozy, good staff with lots of care - Staff and food were amazing. But we barely had WiFi signal in our room. Beautiful place to visit. Expencive but worth visiting. Wifi signal in our room. We had to go to the lobby for signal. Very early breakfast wasn't that pleasant
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elder (9/5): Superb - the food is execellent make clear information about pet
- Karn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barry (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): What a charming place to stay. Food was excellent. Fun staff. The other guest were all adventurous. Scenery is amazi - Stayed in the tent option. Very comfy. Great view of the valley. It was all good

- Huguette (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb -
- Amanda (10/5): Loved everything - The food was amazing, the staff super nice and the atmosphere couldn’t have been more amazing!
- Gina (10/5): We loved this place and definitely plan to be back one day! - We loved staying here! The lodge is beautiful with a spectacular view. Staff were very friendly and the food was great! We have some dietary restrictions (eggs and diary allergy) and they were very accommodating!
- Cole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bruce (10/5): Beautiful view! Peaceful, quiet, restful! - Food was excellent! Coffee in the glamping tents
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were so friendly and amazing. The location is absolutely beautiful, rustic, clean and exactly as pictured. The food and the in-site chef was devine. So many trails and activities to pick from.
- Cathy (4/5): Staff are very friendly and food was excellent. Place disappointing as described in above comments - Food was excellent. Should have table for 2 as not all people what to eat with strangers. They did accommodate us at a large table. Found the information on website to be misleading. Thought we would have a separate cabin with private balcony. Room is very small. Outside was a mess, looked like an avalanche had come thru. Spoke to manager about disappointing first impression, he did not even offer apology for the mess, just excuse that work was done. In my opinion for the price we paid was very disappointing. Also add on of tip was not mentioned at time of booking, so I was even charged more. The only thing that saved this stay was food and mountain view. Will not return or recommend.
- Angel (8/5): Lovely stay at the lodge - Quiet and remote location with such great views. The food. The friendly staff. Nothing.
- Bonnie (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and excellent breakfast This only applies to me as I was there for photography. Dinner at the time when I would like to be out photographing.
- John (7/5): Good -
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juan (8/5): Geourgeuos place with fine dining - It is isolated and beautiful It is unfinished, some work around the tents
- Richard (8/5): Unique - Location, view, food, background playlist, common eating with other guests Vibe was a bit flat
Need to finish the area outside the entrance; feels like it is still under construction
- Janice (10/5): The most beautiful view in the world! - The view! Oh wow, stunning. Gorgeous food and incredibly lovely staff It would have been nice to have some coffee/ tea making facilities
- Jaebird (10/5): Exceptional - Kitchen execution was off the night of our stay. Dinner presentation was beautiful but sadly, it did not taste good. The main course was severely over salted and the dessert didn't taste good either. The hot breakfast portions were quite stingy and again, the potatoes were too salty.
I've stayed at Mount Engadine before and the food at that time was delicious; this time, I'm sorry to say, it did not meet expectations.
Other than the food, our stay and experience was spectacular.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bruce (9/5): very nice - Beautiful views and scenery, met some interesting people most of the trails near the hotel were not suitable for hiking, only for skiing and snowshoeing
- Natalia (10/5): Beautiful, comfortable stay in Kananaskis Country - The lodge was so cozy and beautiful and had amazing views. The glamping tents were the perfect size, comfortable and so cozy! It was amazing to be able to stay in a such a secluded and beautiful area of kananaskis. The food was incredible and you never go hungry! Met some wonderful people as well, both staff and other guests. There’s no wifi in the tents which is great, and wifi in the lodge if you need it. The service was fantastic. Overall, I had the best stay. I would come back here time and time again. Nothing! Everything was perfect
- Emily (8/5): Very good - food
games
environment Wish the ski rentals were included
- Yumiko (10/5): The food and staff were great - The food was great. Beautiful location. The bed was not comfortable. Also, we could hear the next room's noise.
- Shannon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sebastien (9/5): Superb -
- B (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location in the wilderness. The food was fantastic. Wonderful staff, very friendly.
- Christine (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Desiree (10/5): Reconnecting with Nature and Friends - Amazing, Intimate location.
One of the few true classic Canadian Lodges left. Can be a bit busy on weekends
- Andreas (9/5): Superb -
- Tara (9/5): Stunning lodge, delicious food, backcountry Kananaski - Beautiful lodge set in backcountry Kananaski, mountains everywhere and just beautiful to look at. Large comfortable rooms. And fully catered meals, the food was just delicious and the staff welcoming and kind. It’s quite a decent drive to get here on backcountry roads, which had lots of snow. I would suggest staying for at least 2-3 days given the effort to get here. But it was still wonderful for the 1 night we had.
- Chayaporn (10/5): Raise to the staffs - Staffs were the best, particularly the chef. Meals were delicious (served in room with chef’s passion). In such an isolated location, would have stayed longer and with big families. (Yes! See you again soon) Nothing with the property, just the road to the property.
- amelia (10/5): Fantastic place. - I love this place so much! The single twin room is great, with a lovely bathroom. The included meals and charcuterie were really good. Everyone was very friendly. I loved the ambience.
The only problem I had was laundry, given that I was using the stay as a resupply on the great divide trail. Washing everything in the room took forever. It would've been perfect if they could've charged me 40 bucks to do a load of laundry.
- Bonnie (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent breakfast, beautiful location, appreciated the sandwich on the day that I left
- Daryl (1/5): WORST HOTEL RIPOFF OF MY LIFE! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! - Hated every second, and I hate Booking for recommending it. Tiny ripoff room 60 kilometers from where I wanted to be. You sent me 60 kilometers from Kananaskis Village to a remote wilderness lodge down 75 kilometers of terrible gravel road to a tiny ripoff room in a glampground. I will never book a room with you again. Bait and switch scam for profit. I'll be telling everyone never to use Booking till the end of my days. Ruined the end of my holiday.

- Carole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (10/5): Definitely stay here - Loved this place so much! Loved the food, loved the service, loved our cabin! Loved the personal note to my dogs staying with me. The cheese board was amazing! Don’t change anything!
- Tully (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathleen (9/5): Superb - 2 different choices Trees blocking the veiw that could have been pruned or relocated
- Flynn (8/5): Good. - The food and service were great The tents are far too close to each other. Nothing dampens a nice afternoon on the patio than your neighbours having sex.
- Mrg7 (10/5): Great location, quiet. - Great location for photography, which was the point of the trip.
The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff was helpful and kind. Not a great location to travel alone. Meals are included, and dining with many couples was awkward.
- Jennifer (10/5): Awesome and unique stay - The lodge is so beautiful and cozy and the food is great. It's an awesome property for truly relaxing.
- Regina (10/5): Amazing Experience! - I like everything! This is our first time coming to the Mount Engadine Lodge and we had an awesome experience! From the moment we enter the place, we felt very comfortable and welcome. The staffs are very friendly, specially the receptionist, actually the bartender too and the guy from the kitchen.. well all of them!😁 Of course the food...oh my, the snack was fantastic, the dinner was over the top, the breakfast, aside from the one that was ready to eat there's also a savory one either omelette or crepe that they will cook and serve it to you with juice of your choice, and the lunch, it's perfect because it's a packed lunch so you don't have to worry taking it with you. I love everything from this place. ❤️ There's nothing I didn't like in this place. Maybe the road from Canmore up to the turning point..but other than that... nothing. We found another way, thanks to the receptionist!
- Sandra (10/5): a gem in the heart of Kananaskis 😍 - Beautiful location if you like to do outdoor activities. Thoroughly enjoyed being deep in the heart of Kananaskis. The lodge is comfortable and a beautiful place to relax. I loved everything.
- Becky (10/5): Will be back! - Great food, great location, cozy atmosphere, unbeatable views! Everything we could want from a mountain getaway. Can’t wait to come back next year!
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - Incredible location. Beautiful views from the lodge dining area and a great home base for hiking and trails in the area. Accommodations were fantastic. Room was comfortable and the food was amazing at every meal. We will absolutely be back some day.
