Guest Reviews
- nadiyam2014 (10/5): The best accommodations - I highly recommend staying here if you get a chance. It is one of the best places on the island.
- cheryltG959AM (10/5): A Hidden Gem in West End – Quiet, Beautiful, and Restorative! - My stay at SeaGrape Plantation Resort was truly one of the most peaceful and restorative travel experiences I’ve had in a very long time. From the moment I arrived, it felt like stepping into a quiet tropical sanctuary. The property is beautifully maintained with lush greenery, towering palms, and constant views of the Caribbean that never get old.
The location is perfect—just far enough from the busy parts of West End to feel calm and relaxing, yet still an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and the beach. I loved starting my mornings with coffee overlooking the ocean and ending the day watching the sunset from the property. If you enjoy long walks, the surrounding area is wonderful for exploring while still feeling safe and welcoming.
What really made the stay special, though, was the hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was comfortable and easy. Everyone was warm, helpful, and genuinely kind, which created a very welcoming atmosphere. It’s clear that the people who run SeaGrape care deeply about their guests and about maintaining the peaceful character of the property.
This is not a big resort—and that’s exactly the magic of it. It feels personal, quiet, and authentic. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unwind, read, listen to the ocean, and reconnect with yourself.
If you’re looking for a beautiful, relaxed place to stay in Roatán that feels like a hidden gem rather than a crowded resort, SeaGrape Plantation Resort is an absolute treasure. I would happily return again.
- johnnag697 (10/5): Love this place! - Love this place! Everyone is extremely nice and helpful, the grounds and rooms are very clean, and the food is delicious. The dive shop is wonderful and the staff did a great job of organizing my husband's dives including a wreck dive, a shark dive, and a night dive. It is also very quiet here, - just the way we like it...and it's just a short walk into town. This is the second time we've been here and we've already given them a deposit for next year.
- 683leslib (10/5): Great place - We went to Seagrape resort to dive all week. The resort is super clean, the diving was fantastic and all the staff were super helpful. The dive team and staff made our trip memorable. I highly recommend this place. The dining room staff does a terrific job with the food and we had breakfast and lunch at the resort. The location is an easy walk to town for shopping and restaurants.
- fredb146 (8/5): They treat you like a VIP, Great Dive Resort - It was like a live aboard, lots of diving oppertunitys and great Master divers. They made the diving experence so easy, we felt spoiled. Everone was really friendly and very helpful, we really enjoyed the experience. Great Dive Resort
- sallyhZ5417WJ (10/5): SeaGrape for the WIN! - Had an amazing stay and dive experience at SeaGrape! My 14yo son did his OW referral though PADI and they were very professional, patient and kind . They made it a super easy process with their dive packages. The entire resort and dive program was super flexible as weather and airline changes made adjustments. Between Rachel and Mariela, my trip was saved! Highly recommend!
- poseypals (10/5): Economical! Clean! Friendly! - Economical, clean, friendly! Loved having our porch to relax on. Judith in the kitchen is a doll! Big A for tours is best!
- americansinbrazil (10/5): Wonderful Vacation - Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at the Seagrape Plantation Resort, staying in 2 of the Ocean View Bungalows. The property was beautiful and so well maintained, the rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast and lunch were very good. In the afternoons/evenings we walked that short distance into town to visit the shops and have dinner.
We also had a fantastic experience with the dive shop. Kevin was an amazing dive master, finding some many interesting things for us to see. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the property to anyone who wants to do some diving in Roatan!
- H3798LXbilla (10/5): Friendly and first class - One of the best places I ever stayed out of 30 Caribbean vacations. Quality friendly service. Well maintained facilities. Good basic breakfast.
- T9531MZjimh (4/5): Seagrape has a problem with their help robbing customer's rooms. - My 2nd visit here. To the point: Seagrape has a bad problem with theft from customer's rooms perpetrated by the help. Two of three rooms we were in had cash stolen out of the rooms. One could argue we should be more careful with our belongings, in one case cash was in the safe but the safe was not locked. These rooms were not broken into. Theft occurred during cleaning while we were out diving. This place is not that big it would take maybe 5 minutes to determine who did this, who was working but Seagrape did not seem too concerned about it. What is most frustrating is this is money that was to be spent on the local people and local establishments so they did not rob from us, they stole the money from the locals, that they would have received. Very disappointed. May not visit again due to this. The Dive Operation was fantastic. I do recommend their diving operation.
- GingerLewis (10/5): Great resort and dive center - This is our 3rd time returning to this resort. It is a family run establishment and the staff has been phenomenal. Their user friendly website makes booking a breeze and their customer service and support are wonderful. The rooms (both hotel and bungalow) are clean, quiet and spacious. The resort itself is tranquil and quiet, and within a short walking distance to restaurants and shops.
We come to Roatan yearly to dive and we have had the best experience with the dive staff at Seagrape’s. Rachel, Kevin, Ricardo, Denzel and the all of the Captain’s and support staff have been amazing. They are organized, safety oriented, professional and fun. Scheduling your dives are easy and they provide a in water guide. The DM’s are incredibly knowledgeable about the local reef’s, wrecks and marine life. They are attentive and work hard both in and out of the water. The boats are well maintained and spacious as well. It is for these reasons that we continue to return year after year!
- lauraert (10/5): Amazing scuba diving resort! - I just returned home after spending 10 days at Seagrape Plantation Resort over the holidays. I can't say enough good things about them. What you see on their website is exactly what you can expect and more! Amazing customer service from the reception area to the restaurant to the dive shop. This is one of the most fantastic scuba diving resorts I have stayed at. The whole resort is family-run, and it shows. The diving in Roatán is wonderful, only made better by the reliable local dive masters and boat captains who know the area inside and out. I can't wait to go back!
- dhooper81 (10/5): A quiet retreat but close to dining and diving - We had a fantastic visit to Seagrape this December. The staff at the resort was great, especially Judy who cooked our breakfast and lunch daily (the food was delicious). And I can't say enough about the dive staff. They were extremely accommodating and the divemasters (Ricardo and Denzel) were phenomenal. We hope to come back soon!
- Navigator09797500567 (10/5): A great place to go stay and dive - We arrived at the airport on a Saturday, the resort had someone with a sign, waiting for us. We boarded a van, and was quickly at the resort. We registered at the front desk while our luggage was unloaded in close proximity to our rooms. The rooms were clean and there were always fresh towels every day after we returned from diving. The Dive Crew were great, and we saw lots during the week, dolphins, sea-horses, eels, spotted eagle rays, turtles, etc. We loved the trip!
- S6989DNlaurah (10/5): Beautiful Resort and Diving - This was our second visit to Seagrape Plantation and we enjoyed every minute of it. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and the diving was amazing. We also appreciate that it is walking distance to West End but quiet and private.
- 172mariamaw (10/5): A Resort that feels like Family - I went to the Seagrape as part of a dive group and loved my time there. This is my third time diving in the Bay Islands and it was my favorite trip.
I loved the location. We were in a neighborhood but it actually felt relatively private. It was an easy walk from my room to the pool, to the restaurant and to the dive shop. We had breakfast and lunch on the property every day but then were able to walk 10 mins into town for dinner. I loved that we were so close to the downtown but were able to sleep away from the restaurants and bars of downtown. I also loved the animals roaming around. There was a friendly cat and a couple of hens and roosters that would occasionally cross the paths but were not intrusive. The hummingbirds and other birds that visited the courtyard were a nice plus and a few times en route to lunch or a dive, I would take a moment to enjoy them.
I also loved that both the owners and the staff were very friendly and hospitable local people. The restaurant team was great. They remembered all the different preferences of our group (lactose-sensitive, no meat, no pork, etc.). They also gave great recommendations for the best dinner spots in town and which days to go.
Finally the dive team was great. They were very professional and offered great service. They shared information between them making our stay really easy and they were very flexible about us joining an extra dive here and there. We were there at the same time as another group and they did a great job of meeting the needs of both groups.
I do a lot of diving and while I tend to enjoy the location, I don't always feel such a connection to the staff. By the end of trip I was hugging the restaurant staff and the dive team because I was sincerely going to miss them. I will definitely be back again.
- S7207JYrayh (10/5): A Great First-Time Experience in Roatan - This was my first trip to Roatan and I couldn't have picked a better place to stay. In view of the very good price, the rooms were spacious, kept clean on a daily basis by friendly staff, and nicely appointed with a mini fridge. The grounds were well maintained, the common areas and pool were good, and the breakfast and lunch served at the restaurant was good--both in terms of the food and service provided by the staff. The resort was quiet, but within walking distance of excellent restaurants and a town with a nice nightlife.
If you tend to attract insects, as I do, you will need to come well-prepared with repellant and/or long sleeves and pants. For divers like myself the affiliations with the Dive Shop is an additional plus. My experience was excellent and I hope to return with other family members soon.
- Y7699TZjenniferl (10/5): Great waterfront place to stay in Roatan - My husband and I stayed at Seagrape for a week in September with two other couples and it was amazing! The room was very nice and comfortable, the A/C was great, and the room was a nice size. The breakfast and lunch were basic but very tasty, and the dive shop was top notch! Divemaster Kevin and boat captain Michael were super helpful and professional, ensuring everyone had a great time. The diving was incredible as always, especially the night dive. We saw turtles, eagle rays, tons of cool fish, eels, and even a marlin! We've been to Roatan several times and this was our first time at Seagrape. We will definitely be back.
- Lando313 (10/5): A fantastic place to relax and dive! - I spent a solid week here and let me say this is one of the most memorable places I've stayed in quite a while! I was here with the organization Diving with a Purpose. We we diving every day and the reefs around the resort were just wonderful. The accommodations on land were perfect! I really enjoyed the hammock in the lounge area!. Our food was top notch, nothing fancy mind you, just fresh food prepared very well. Its a family run business and everyone there are so nice. From the hotel area to the dive shop, Everything was very welcoming! Definitely making another visit soon!
- O6585UMmikem (10/5): Great Dive Operation. - This was our second trip staying and diving with the folks at Seagrape. All the staff really do whatever you need to make the visit wonderful. Can't say enough about Rachel and the divemasters. If you appreciate a divemaster who can find the unusual and cool creatures, this is is the group to dive with. The boats are perfect for where they go and getting off and on is simple. The groups are usually small and each divemaster leads 4-6 people underwater.
- EarlB262 (10/5): Great week at Seagrape Plantation! - We spent 2 weeks in Roatan, a week at another resort in West End, right in the village and a week at Seagrape. Seagrape was far superior in every way. It was much quieter, the rooms were nicer and our bed was the very best of any place we have stayed, anywhere in the world! The dive operation was very professionally run. We travel with our own gear, so we can’t comment on their rental gear. Ricardo was a good dive master, the only criticism of the dive operation is that Ricardo needs to be easier to identify, most dive masters wear distinctive fins, either an unusual color or maybe two different colors.
- 101jeraldh (10/5): Very well put together with dive packages and ocean exploration. Breakfast and lunch was included! - I thought the service and dive shop were excellent. The dive masters allowed us to dive well over the 60 min time limit. Going back in April.
- LeahScriv (10/5): Great Dive Shop - Seagrape knew all of the best dive sites and I saw so many incredible things. They were efficient, affordable, and very friendly. I felt very safe diving with them. I would definitely dive with them again.
- jonannis (10/5): Hope to return to Seagrape Plantation Resort - Everyone at Seagrape Plantation is so friendly and always willing to assist. Very comfortable rooms, excellent diving staff. Can't wait to return.
- P7259RCtomr (10/5): Excellent resort, top notch diving! - Resort is clean, has good amenities, is a short walk to town and has good food in the restaurant. The diving is 10/10 with great dive masters and boat captains. Seagrape really works to give you a great experience while you are there. I had several last minute requests and schedule changes, and they accommodated me with no problems! Prices are very fair as well. Spent seven days in late September, starting and diving with Seagrape, and it was a great vacation! I will definitely be back!
- France1215 (10/5): Loved our experience - We just got back from a week at Seagrape Plantation and loved our experience. It is not a luxurious place but it has everything you need. The ocean front cabins were lovely and well located. Always clean and comfortable. Air conditioning keeping it cool when needed. I love how quiet the place is. You can really enjoy some quality time there and if you want more "action", the town is steps away. Perfect location for us. I loved that breakfast and lunch were included which made it much easier when you go scuba diving. The food was good and we had plenty to eat. Their dive shop is also great. In Roatan the none smoking policy are different and unfortunately my neighbor smoked and I woke up a few morning smelling cigarette smoke in my bedroom which was quite unpleasant. I'd recommend they have non smoking area for guests who would want to avoid this. Nonetheless, it was a great week. We would definitely come back!
- Ashley (10/5): - I love this place. I’ve stayed here before and I can’t wait to stay here the next time I’m in Roatán. I’ve made friends with many resort owners on the island during my visits and this is my go to place. The gardens are beautiful. The staff are AMAZING! It is super walkable to west end. It’s quiet and the pool over looking the ocean is a secret gem. Thank you!!!
- Rattatusk (10/5): Great value, beautiful and environmentally conscious - One of the best places because of their environmental footprint.
Really nice and calm place. Big area to walk around on and really nice pool, even competing with the super luxury resorts.
I stayed in a bungalow, which was very nice and with beautiful view over the ocean and sunset.
I stayed at many places and I would say it's the best place I was at when it comes to value and location.
The service was great and they were so helpful and friendly.
The only reason I changed place was that I did not like to have a plastic thing around my wrist, like on amusement parks. I don't like to show all around Roatan that I'm a tourist, and where I'm staying.
I do understand the reason, for security so that the guards can easily see that you are staying there.
If you don't mind this, then this is to me one of the best places on Roatan.
- Ashley (10/5): - Love this place. Second time here. Convenient 5 minute walk to downtown fun. It's a little older, but SOOOOOO CLEAN! They clean the room daily. The staff is so accommodating. When you meet people over breakfast, at least half of them are return customers. This place isn't fancy, but the pool and gardens are beautiful!
- rebeccamE1306EZ (10/5): Amazing Hotel and Dive Shop in the West End - I’ve been staying at Seagrape mostly every year since 2017. The bungalows are so cute and the location is perfect in that it’s close to everything in the west end, but so peaceful and quiet. Mariela is the best. She runs a tight ship and won’t settle for anything not meeting guest expectations. The Dive shop though is the shining star. 3 dives a day, 7 days a week, and all the options for any certification you could ask for. Night dives, shipwreck dives, sharks, rays, it’s a diver’s dream. Everyone at Seagrape has become just like family, it holds such a special place in my heart.
- Lovethetropics84 (10/5): Birthday celebration - My husband and I went there to celebrate my birthday. We also completed our AOW. Our dive master Ricardo was amazing. Can't wait to dive with him again. Our dive instructor Nico was knowledgable and was great at giving us advice for perfect buoyancy and helped my husband decrease his air usage. Rhonda and Rachel were so helpful at the dive shop. Marielo arranged a couple excursions for us . It was wonderful to just show up and all the reservations and transportation was taken care of. We had an amazing time at the Marine park being dolphin trainers for the day and visiting the Mayan Jungle and interacting with the monkeys and sloths, The only thing that would have made this even more enjoyable is if we could make our own meal selections. They had a menu the staff ordered from but they just told us what the meal for the day was going to be with no choices. The last dinner we had they let us choose because they were serving food we could not eat. I had chicken nachos. It was wonderful! Delicious! The other dinners the cook put waaaay too much garlic in the food and I could barely eat it. I told Janeth, the server, and she tried to convey to the cook but there was no change. If we could have chosen our meals, I think that may have helped. Janeth was great too.
- Lois (8/5): - I was there for one night, nice and quiet.
- cherylbI1708GN (10/5): We plan to return!!! - This amazing resort is not what Americans would consider a "resort". Who wants that anyway? This is the real deal. Family owned, locally managed, it is an authentic experience. My 15 year old and I went to become scuba certified. We stayed in the "hotel" room, which was super comfortable with 2 twin (queen?...I don't remember) beds. The AC was cold, but we tried to not run it much. The water was hot, although the pressure was low...who cares?? We were thankful for all the amenities. Fun little pool where we learned the scuba skills. Amazing breakfast and lunch included, which was so helpful on our dive days. We had a mini-frige in the room, which we learned to store doggie bags from our LARGE meals that we couldn't finish. So we ate them for dinner some nights! The resort supplied all the water we needed to drink. Lots of hammocks to relax in, beautiful open areas, easy access to the ocean. I highly recommend Seagrape to anyone who is looking for a slightly more rustic, but extremely comfortable and safe place to explore West Roatan.
- Oceancat (10/5): Loved our time at Seagrape - Great time and fantastic location! We are a family of 6 (4 teenagers + parents) so had 3 hotel rooms. They had some cool cabins, but our group too large for those. The rooms are basic, but you are never in your room-the beds were on the hard side but comfortable, WiFi worked well, beautiful pool deck and pool by the ocean. Sun chairs/hammocks under a palapa with a great view of the ocean. People snorkeled with entry from a path over the iron shore (sharp old corals). We didn’t snorkel but other guests said it was descent. Loved the giant banyan trees in the property and of course the sea grape trees! Awesome hummingbird feeders. Breakfast was included and was basic and not a lot of choice- eggs, toast or French toast, sausage or bacon and some fruit. Would have preferred buffet or more options, but with limited kitchen staff I think they needed to keep it simple. All staff was friendly and helpful. We loved the outdoor lounge areas. Close to West End town but not in the town. Is about a 5-7 min walk to town. grocery store walkable. We dove and were very, very pleased with the dive ops. They were fantastic. Will definitely come back.
- shouldbesailing1 (10/5): Seagrape is paradise found. - Seagrape is a lovely, family owned resort that is clean, comfortable and quiet. It has an amazing pool for cooling off midday or a quick dip before bed. Having breakfast and lunch provided is a big plus. And taking the short 5 minute walk into West End for dinner is a breeze. So many tasty options. We loved the pick up and return service to the airport. It made the whole trip a no stress experience.
Now the whole reason we came to Roatan. The diving! And Seagrape has a top notch dive shop. Three pristine boats, modern, well layed-out facilities and the best staff! Total concierge dive experience. Special kudos to Ricardo for being a great DM for most of our dives. Thorough, attentive and helpful . He found us some of the coolest critters! Eagle rays galore. And Kevin who was equally adept at spotting cool things to see. Audrey was only our DM for 1 day but was amazing. She helped us get our "first dive in a while" jitters out.
- lynnhK9210OY (10/5): I love this place! - I love this place! It’s run by a wonderful local family. You can’t beat Seagrape’s location right on the reef. The diving staff is responsible, helpful and kind. The rooms are spotless and the air conditioning is superb. This was my 2nd year in a row and I’ve already booked a 2 week diving vacation for next year.
- Karen (10/5): - Tranquil place and the most patient dive masters and instructors! Such a friendly staff!!!! Absolutely recommend!
- WaltonReporter (10/5): Lovely, Personal, and Clean - This hotel is a small family run resort. It’s not fancy, but it is great for a rural Island. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning works. There are outdoor lounges, a nice pool, and direct access to the ocean.
The water pressure in the shower was pretty awful, but I think that’s par for the island.
The food in the restaurant was good and cooked to order. I think the chickens that laid the eggs for our breakfast were roaming free around the property.
The location is great - a five minute walk from the main strip in town put away from the hustle and trash of the tourists and cruise ship visitors.
The hotel was great about organizing our transportation to and from the airport and helping us with reservations at their in-house dive shop.
- emmasG1667JH (10/5): Great Dive and Stay resort - My husband and I stayed in an oceanfront bungalow. It was clean and comfortable with a great view of the ocean and near the pool. We purchased a stay and dive package with breakfast and lunch. The meals and service was great.
Diving was good then amazing. We were a bit spoiled by our dive masters taking our gear to the boat and rinsing and hanging our gear after. Knowledgeable dive team that ensured we had a good time.
Sea grape is within walking distance of town and a swim able beach.
We will stay here again.
- P8713BRmariaf (10/5): We loved Seagrape! Definitely coming back! - Excellent, friendly, and professional staff. Dive masters (Julissa, Nico, and Ricardo) all gave personal attention and really knew the dive sites. Don’t miss the night dive to see the String of Pearls , even if you’re hesitant about night diving. Totally worth it! The resort is clean, quiet, and comfortable. AC works great. Easy walk into town, and the breakfasts and lunches at their restaurant were all excellent. Very laid back atmosphere. The Wi-Fi is spotty but who cares? We stayed in the bungalows, which I highly recommend because of the awesome view and hammock on the porch. Will definitely be back! On your day off before flying, don’t miss the Island tour (Cleve’s); the front desk can arrange it.
- 442lorneh (10/5): Best overall resort in Roatan! - A one of a kind experience! The staff at Seagrape are the friendliest, most accommodating I’ve ever run across. The rooms are modest but very comfortable with excellent cooling and kept clean daily. Mariela and her staff do everything they can to meet your every need.
The dive shop has top notch instructors and dive masters that make the dive experience easy, fun and safe. Rachel has a small, well equipped shop to pick up anything you need for your dives as well as a few souvenirs. The restaurant puts out some great island food and the package pricing makes it easy, fast and affordable.
The location is ideal with dining and shopping close by, yet far enough to have a nice, quiet evening. Whenever I’m on Roatan, I’ll be at the Seagrape Plantation.
- G2813AIdavidk (10/5): Outstanding! - Seagrape Plantation Resort is all around a fantastic place with the nicest, friendliest staff you could ask for. Clean, comfortable and convenient. We stayed for a week of diving and absolutely loved it. Loved the short walk to West End. We’ll be back!!
- G6225AAchrisb (10/5): Another Great Dive Week with Seagrape Plantation Resort - Back from another fantastic dive week with Seagrape on 31 May 2025. It's like visiting family, from the front office staff led by Mariela to the dive masters, boat captains, dive shop, even the restaurant and cleaning staff. They are always smiling and going out of their way to make you feel at home. The DMs are experts at finding cool stuff: 3 octopus on our night dive, goliath grouper, juvenile puffers and bioluminescence. Day dives included two seahorses, two eagle rays bottom feeding, and a resting octopus. On the boats, it is concierge service with assists in and out of the water, switching out tanks, and generally helping out as requested. They accomodate special diets. We eat a strict whole food, plant based, no oil diet, and the restaurant accomodated us in every way, The bungalows offer a wonderful ocean view. The pool provided a refreshing after dive decompress. It's short walk into town that offers a variety of restaurants. There's a convenient grocery store, water taxis to West Bay, two fun coffee/cafes--Crazy Bean in town and Cafe De Palo next door to Seagrape. We highly recommend Seagrape and we will be back!
- 482meredithr (10/5): 10/10 Dive Resort - I stayed at Seagrape mainly for the Dive Shop on-site, and it was absolutely worth it! The staff are lovely and very knowledgeable about diving, making sure to prioritize safety. I got certified for my openwater diver, and felt so comfortable with Nico, a clearly very experienced diver who made sure I knew what I was doing and why. The staff on the main resort were lively and not afraid to joke with guests, while remaining respectful. The resort is just far enough away from the main strip that you can easily walk to it, but are unbothered by noise when sleeping. Overall, an absolutely incredible place with lovely staff to top it off!
- CatherineBH (10/5): Best value oceanfront diving resort with wonderful staff - Highly Recommend
It was our first time in Roatan, and this resort was recommended by several members of the FB Roatan Travel group. It is family owned. Mariela responded to my inquiries quickly, and she provided several dive package options for us to consider. I compared the lodging/dive packages with other resorts with ocean views. It was the best value with breakfast & lunch included. It was also convenient to have the meals at the resort before and after our dives. The meals were fixed yet varied daily. The cook provided some options. As an example, I don’t eat beef and the cook cooked chicken for me. My husband and I stayed in a cabana with Oceanview & close to the pool. The cabana was spacious with a small refrigerator and it had a porch. We liked the privacy. Our only minor “complaint” was that the WiFi was not working well in our cabana. We stayed 8 nights and had the 10 dive packages. We did an extra night dive and the cost was reasonable. We loved the location and enjoyed watching sunsets from the pool area. The resort is walking distance to town yet located in a quiet neighborhood. The ambiance of the resort was peaceful and the landscape was well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our dives and the staff were professional. Our safety was the top priority. The boats were comfortable, and the equipment we rented were in good condition. We had a rental car and there was plenty of parking space. Overall, we had a wonderful and memorable stay.
- Mporch (10/5): 10/10 will go again - The best vacation we have ever had. The bungalow was cute and I loved lazing in the hammock with a book. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed and at home. The food was always good and served with a smile(Hi Judith!) I cannot say enough good things about the experience and am already planning my return trip
- SteveH872 (10/5): Fantastic Hotel and Dive Operation - Our return to Seagrape after several previous stays was as enjoyable as always. Kyle greeted us at the airport and obliged us with a quick stop at Eldon's grocery to buy snacks. We were welcomed back by the staff and treated like family. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Our package included breakfast and lunch which were delicious and plentiful. They varied with both Island and American fare. The grounds are beautifully landscaped yet still reflect a rainforest type surroundings. A short 10 minute walk to West End provided lots of dinner options from budget eats to gourmet meals. The refrigerator in the room was great for cold drinks and leftover pizza.
The dive shop staff is friendly, competent, and eager to help with whatever you need. Ricardo (our divemaster) was helpful and great at finding critters. He gave thorough briefings and lots of flexibility during the dives. The crew was always right on hand to help with gearing up and getting into and out of the water.
Divers are divided into small groups. We never had more than 6 in our group. Lots of personal attention. The dive shop has great rinse tanks and gear storage. Ricky does a great job at managing the shop and keeping thinks running smoothly. He had us analyze our nitrox tanks in advance so there was no rush the day of dive. All tanks were 3000 psi fills. No short tanks. Looking forward to our next visit.
- mryleejr (10/5): Great Escape - Such a great experience staying with Seagrape Plantation Resort. Airport pickup was a breeze and quick to the resort. Location is off the busy main drag of the West End, but only a 5 minute, safe/well lit, walk to all the fun. The pool and common areas are great hangout spots to enjoy the sun. The diner was great, perfect portions to start a dive day.
- O669ORcarolb (10/5): Exceeded expectations - They have the best service and people. They make you feel like family. Would highly recommend.....and the beds are wonderfully firm!! I had a great dive trip and I can't wait to do it again. The dive shop is run very well. They take care of all your gear so you can enjoy yourself.
- rontW5854HM (10/5): Will visit again - We had a group dive trip this April.
First time at this facility.
The staff, from the ground keepers to the management were very pleasant, and helpful. Nice rooms. The dive staff were very accommodating . We always received a warm welcome in the morning by the kitchen staff. I will plan another trip in the near future.
- H1154MFbradb (10/5): Never Gets Old - This was our fifth time to this amazing place. This is a family run operation which takes pride in the experience each and every time. The resort is on a large property and caters to a relatively small number of guests. The dive shop has a number of upgrades and the dive locations are close and diverse
- hannaht192 (10/5): Book it! - We stumbled upon Seagrape while looking for a diving-focused, local resort in Roatan. We were so impressed with Seagrape and would absolutely go back! One person in our group got their Open Water certification with Nico and the group decided to get their Advanced Open Water with Nico because we liked Nico as an instructor and the whole Seagrape crew so much.
Mariela answered all of our booking and pricing questions and Ricky and Rachel in the dive shop coordinated things so effortlessly. The entire dive staff is awesome and we had a blast with every divemaster and captain we dove with. Seagrape knows the island well and cares about safety and the ocean. Judith and the kitchen staff were lovely and the food was great.
This resort is not as renovated as others but we would choose Seagrape to come back to over others any day. The rooms and grounds were kept very clean, the lounge places are comfortable, and the location is hard to beat. We had perfect transportation to and from the airport, as well! Highly recommend Seagrape for your next dive or trip!
- 79lorenzk (8/5): Love Seagrape, but please fix your WiFi! - Let me just preface this by saying I absolutely love Seagrape, the staff, the diving and the entire atmosphere. It’s everything you could want for a dive vacation. The ONLY reason I am rating them 4 stars is because the WiFi simply doesn’t work at the hotel. The coffee shop next to the dive shop has fast WiFi and just about every bar on the West End has working WiFi. But for some reason, Seagrape can’t get theirs to work. Gets frustrating when you’re trying to contact people from home and can’t get a signal. Otherwise, Seagrape is always a good time with great vibes!
- mattaN7580PK (10/5): The 2025 Albany Scuba shop dive vacation - We had a awesome shop trip vacation with the SeaGrape Plantation resort and the scuba diving was out of this world we saw turtles spotted eagle rays, barracuda, spotted morray eels and green morray eels. Thank you guys so much can’t wait to see you all again in 2026
- Sherpa14324630922 (10/5): Best Resort Ever! - Dearest Seagrape Family,
Kerri and I had another amazing stay!
Diving once again was the best, the coral so vibrant, sea life unbelievable thanks to the dive masters pointing things out! We finally saw the string of pearls, words cannot explain the beauty. And Rachel’s dive board so neat.
As for the resort, sitting by the ocean in the morning watching and listening to the waves wash over the coral while enjoying coffee, the smooth concrete walkways (for those of us who are nearing middle age) the swimming pool for after diving relaxation and sunsets. And ever so helpful Mariela always going way above and beyond!
The Seagrape Family, Our Honduran sisters and brothers. This trip we got to see a lot of you including the next generation. We always enjoy the big warm (wet) hugs.
Next year I will try to get to Ricky’s Place on time to help drape the tables for breakfast.
The most important item to mention are the friends we have made from around the world, it is always a pleasure to keep in touch and see each other again for a great relaxing dive adventure!
Ricky, Kevin, Nico, Ricardo, it was great to see you “Buddies”. Julisa it was a pleasure meeting and diving, we’ll see you soon, Boat captains you rock and the gentlemen staining the new pier and carrying our stuff to and from the boats with a great big smile, thank you!
See you next year,
Kerri & Joe
- V563GQchristianm (10/5): First Dive Trip, But Definitely Not My Last – Seagrape Was Incredible - I typically stay at high-end hotels, but this was my first dive trip, and after hearing such great reviews about Seagrape, I decided to give it a try. I’m happy to say that it far exceeded my expectations!
The staff were absolutely incredible, with a special shout-out to Mariella and Judith who made our experience even more enjoyable. My package included breakfast, lunch, and 10 dives, and the food was fantastic—fresh, delicious, and just what we needed after a long day of diving.
While the rooms weren’t extravagant, they were perfectly comfortable—clean and well-maintained with a functioning AC, which was a plus. The bathroom was tidy and in good condition, and I had no complaints with the accommodations.
The real highlight of the trip was the dive shop team. Kevin and Julissa, who guided us on every dive, were phenomenal. Michael, our boat captain, ensured we were always safe and comfortable out on the water. I suffer from severe seasickness, but the team made sure I was in the water as quickly as possible, helped me change tanks, and checked in regularly to make sure I was okay.
These dive shop staff members truly go above and beyond, and since they work for tips, please remember to show your appreciation for their outstanding service. I can’t wait to return to Seagrape and will definitely be back for another unforgettable dive experience in the future!
- josephbW4079FS (10/5): Home away from Home - A very pleasant and personable experience. The entire staff is awesome and made us feel special and welcomed. The facilities are clean and we'll taken care. Dive shop is friendly and professional. My wife and I love this place and will return. See you soon to all the staff.
- Debbra (10/5): - Love this family owned business, they treat you so well. It is so nice to be just a few minutes walking to all the action of West End.
The sunset ocean views are incredible.
- Maya (8/5): - Beautiful surrounding and was able to walk to places!
- Carol (10/5): - The staff were wonderful. A very quiet property.
- K7462NMrobins (10/5): Great value! - We picked the stay and dive package, which included two dives a day with Seagrape Dive Shop plus breakfast and lunch. We were lucky to get one of the bungalows, but people staying in the rooms said that they liked them too. Our bungalow was clean, with a comfortable bed and ample pillows. Food was simple, but tasty and hearty. We definitely did not go hungry! All of the staff are personable. What we especially appreciated was the location. The resort is just far enough away from the main drag to be a quiet oasis, but close enough to walk for dinner. We loved it!
- E3721ANsusanl (10/5): Awesome - Love this place. Very quiet but not far from west end action. The staff is amazing and make you feel like family. Breakfast is a hearty and delicious start to the day. The room was very clean and well cared for. The walking paths are well lit for after dark walks. I have stayed by myself and felt very safe.
- Robert (10/5): - Great simple stay! Close to dive shop. Morning breakfast was great and love the service. Quiet but close enough to walk to the village.
- Storyteller826562 (10/5): Quaint, casual, boutique resort - Quaint, exceptionally clean resort managed by the most gracious hosts! We loved it! Great for divers and snorkelers! Dive shop is top notch! Food for breakfast and lunch is delicious and a large quantity.... Can easily be shared if you want. Super easy walk to West End for dinner and snorkeling in Half Moon Bay. Can't wait to go back! These folks have thought of EVERYTHING to make your stay comfortable.
- T7264NApeterb (10/5): FINE TIME at SEAGRAPE - Had an excellent time with the Seagrape Dive Shop and all the Dive Masters, very professional and FUN. Hats off to Manager Ricki for keeping it all going so smoothly. Did my 1st night dive with DM Nico !!
Also a shout out to Judith and her team in the restaurant where we had breakfast and lunch every day. We also miss Lazy, the cat. !!
- JOANN (10/5): - My second time staying here was just as wonderful. The rooms and the grounds are immaculate. I feel like family when I stay there, the family is so friendly and sweet and accommodating. Love this home away from home. Sunset are amazing on the front porch swing
- 563stevem (10/5): Best dive resort ever - I have stayed at and dived with Seagrape for the past 3 years. Let me first address the dive operation. I have logged 562 dives over the past 31 years in the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic, Pacific, Western Pacific and the Sea of Cortez. Seagrape is my favorite dive operation anywhere that I have visited on this planet. Rachel and Ricky manage a very friendly, efficient and professional dive operation. Of my top 5 dive masters ever, 3 of them are Seagrape DMs. The boat captains and DMs are very attentive and helpful. The boats are great. Dive sites quite close. The diving this past month was by far the best I've had anywhere in the past 5 years. My wife and I, and several of our friends are already booked at Seagrape in 2026.
The bungalow/hotel accommodations are very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. The food in their onsite restaurant is very good. The dive shop and boat dock is a very short walk from your room. Seagrape is about a 10 minute walk from "downtown" West End, but is far enough away to be very quiet and peaceful.
Lastly, I must comment on the wonderful Wesley family members who operate and personally deliver the services Seagrape visitors enjoy. They are caring, kind and generous people. That's who they are. They are the kind of people you just want to be near. I'm looking forward to being there again.
- Sue Ann (10/5): - .
- Troy (10/5): - Staff and area were great
- Lesley (10/5): - Gracious friendly quiet.
- Steven (10/5): Loved it - Great stay. Near to a great coffee place. Very nice room. Quiet. Easy walk to everything including beach
- Darrell (10/5): - We have stayed at Seagrape numerous times over the past 20 years, and every time we have had an excellent experience.
- Trudy (10/5): - Great spot right on the sea. Access to the sea from jetty only if a good swimmer as waves crash on to jetty and very sharp rocks, no beach. But beach only a few minutes walk. I came for the diving, which was great. No bar serving alcohol and the restaurant closes at 2pm. Would've liked to have wine/beer with lunch. No problem, just went elsewhere. Nice big room.
- A (10/5): - Excellent, QUIET family run property front row on the iron shore ocean, spectacular night stars or watching the sunset or experiencing a northerly!
The prettiest well kept gardens and super clean rooms and cabanas (I stayed in both).
Decent sized fridge.
Staff transferred my bags to my room so I could go diving when I checked in too early.
Breakfast is large and tasty, a fruit and yogurt option would be welcome though.
Thank you Dewey and Mariela!
- Thomas (10/5): - Excellent value.
- Colleen (10/5): - What a gem! We loved the peaceful vibe and the access to beautiful ocean view, nice pool and starkly beautiful volcanic?coral? beach frontage. Rooms were simple and clean. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. We’ll be back!
- Shane (10/5): - Amazing experience. Breakfast was fantastic every morning. Quiet location with beautiful views of the ocean. We loved having the scuba diving at the property which made it simple and convenient. Boats, equipment, and staff are awesome.
- Darrell (10/5): - We’ve been coming for 20 years and never had a bad experience. Family run business that answers any questions and treats everyone well.
- Peter (8/5): - Great location. Close to bars and restaurants.
- Ashley (10/5): - Seagrape was excellent. It’s an older resort, but the pool and social areas were far better than most of the hotels and smaller resorts on the island. It is very walkable to downtown. The fixed free breakfast changed daily and it was tasty. I loved their tortilla or beans when they made the menu. The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided daily. The water pressure is low in the showers but it wasn’t a big deal. The resort guests were very friendly as l we dived with most of them each day. It was fun to catch up over breakfast on everyone’s adventures. The in room air conditioning was great. The rooms and common areas were impeccably clean. The landscaping was some of the best on the island when compared to other resorts. The dive center was excellent for lessons and when bad weather hit, they were able to take us to the other side of island where it was calmer to dive. Not all dive companies have this flexibility and partnership with other resorts on the island. The staff were super nice and easy to work with. We are looking forward to next year and making the trip longer too.
- Eduardo (10/5): - Clean, roomy, safe. Great breakfast.
- john (10/5): - Very friendly staff, had access to all the basic needs including breakfast, water and shampoo in the room. If I were to recommend any change it would be to save water and when a guest hangs a towel it gets reused and not replaced.
- Connie (10/5): - The staff was wonderful!!!
- Joanna (10/5): - Loved everything about the property .
- rick (10/5): - We loved our stay. A quick 3 minute walk to everything West End has to offer. The staff was so accommodating. We will be back!
- Carmen (10/5): - The property itself is beautiful. Amazing ocean view from your room to while swimming in their pool. The property is clean well kept and the staff is friendly. I felt safe at all times. Transportation to get around wasn’t difficult to obtain either. Staff assisted in everything.
The only downside to me was the onsite breakfast restaurant I’d rate it a 5 out of 10. Why? I felt they should provide more of the authentic traditional island food vs trying to Americanize their menu.
- Johanna (10/5): 10/10 LOVED IT! - It was amazing! Loved every second of it. The pool is gorgeous & the room was so clean. 10/10 would definitely recommend to stay here. Super happy & money spent well. Also their restaurant is such a vibeeee!
- Jorge (6/5): - Needs some improvements
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice people - Very clean, very comfortable older property. Large rooms, easy to walk to restaurants and shops. Friendly and professional staff. Good value for cost.
- Sarena (10/5): Comfy ‘at home’ stay - Great place away from any noise but close to walk 4 minutes ‘to town’.. down the road. Safe and easy location. Comfy big rooms, very clean.
- Petra (6/5): - I GOT BIT BY ANTS IN ONE OF THE ROOM IWAS STAYING
- Atul (10/5): - Simple but great. Rooms were clean. Property was quiet and breakfast was tasty. Not luxurious but just did the basics very, very well.
- KAYLA (6/5): - Manager was extremely ruin. Would never stay here next time I return.
- Sharon (8/5): - Bright white lights in the room like a lab or hospital room. Noisy. No soundproofing. Beautiful breakfast and outdoor space.
- Michael Ray (10/5): - Seagrape is located on a great spot just far enough away from West End when you want seclusion yet only a couple of minutes away when you want it. The hotel was very nice, room was very clean, front desk was very personable and the breakfast was great every morning. The staff made my stay on the island fantastic from the second I stepped off the plane and every moment since. The dive shop is so conveniently located and they made getting back into diving very easy. Already planning my next trip back but for much longer this timeframe.
- Claudia (10/5): - Stayed with a friend and loved this hotel.
- Olga (8/5): - good for people who want to be in a quiet place
Very clean
- Michael (10/5): - Small personal family-owned hotel. They take a personal interest in making your stay enjoyable. I needed a shuttle from the ferry docks to the hotel and then to the airport. The driver that picked me up with Clive who made the trip worth while. Clive gave me a tour of West End and recommended restaurants that did not disappoint. He married into the family. Mariela was coordinated all my activities and even drove me to the airport. The property is great for the location, affordable and good Caribbean style breakfast.
- Charles (10/5): - Awesome experience! Caring and knowledgeable staff made us feel at home the entire trip.
- David (10/5): - This is mature family-run property where they have figured out what works well in a tropical salt-air environment and what does not. So while it is not a glitzy new boutique resort, it also doesn't have the "Christmas afternoon" problems that result when spiffy new stuff meets salt-laden air. It's just clean, and they after things for you when you need it. They're also not just accepting of you patronizing restaurants in the adjoining small resorts, but encourage it. Relax and chill, you won't be made to feel like the hostage of a rich people's ghetto!
