• Gwendoline (10/5): Merci !! - Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour à Villa Tara avec notre fils de 2 ans. Le personnel était au petit soin, toujours prêts à rendre service. Tout était très propre, la chambre pouvait être nettoyée tous les jours si désiré. Notre chambre (ou plutôt mini appartement) comportait une petite kitchenette très pratique. Les lits étaient très confortables et bonnes moustiquaires. Au calme tout en étant proche du centre. Belle piscine bien entretenue. Le petit déjeuner est "à la carte", choix varié. Fruits délicieux. La plage est assez proche, l'eau est propice à la baignade et parfaite pour le snorkeling. Un grand merci à toute l'équipe pour ce merveilleux séjour, que nous avons d'ailleurs prolongé de deux nuits !

• Daniel (9/5): Netttes kleines Hotel - Nettes kleines Hotel, etwas abseits der Hauptstrasse. Sehr ruhig, und dennoch nur ca. 300m von den Läden und Restaurants entfernt. Der Manager hat ein eigenes Tuk-Tuk und fährt die Gäste für wenig Geld an jeden Ort in Hikkaduwa. Alles war sauber.
• Barbara (10/5): Perfekter Aufenthalt mit toller Atmosphäre - Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Der Pool war sauber und angenehm, perfekt zum Entspannen. Die Atmosphäre im Hotel ist ruhig und gemütlich. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, bequem und gut ausgestattet. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Das Personal war immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Besonders der Inhaber war sehr nett und hat sich gut um die Gäste gekümmert. Für uns war alles super. Es gab nichts Negatives. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
• Fredrik (10/5): Very nice hotel with great staff. - great breakfast and fantastic staff! Hikkaduwa is like a small Russian town, everyone is from Russia. But our hotel was an oasis and some of the beaches were very good.
• Karin (10/5): Härligt ställe med trevlig personal! Lugnt och skönt. - Trevlig personal som löste allt vi behövde både med råd och praktiskt. God frukost. Svalkande pool om man inte vill ta sig den korta vägen till stranden. Önskar man lite större bättre strand med lite mer utbud rekommenderas att ta en tuktuk ett par min till narigama beach. Välfungerande ac och en stor kyl. Det fanns alltid varmvatten vilket inte är en självklarhet på sri lanka. Stor och fin balkong hörde till vårt rum! Trevliga restauranger inom 3-10 minuters promenad. Dörr till rummet som var mycket svår att stänga utan att låsa på vårt rum, detta skulle nog ganska enkelt kunna åtgärdas.

• Wendy (10/5): - - viel Platz im Zimmer (waren zu 3. in einem Zimmer da die Villa sehr ausgelastet war. War jedoch super machbar so, da unser Appartement sehr gross war). - sehr saubere Anlage & Pool - klein & familiär - in 5-10Min an der Hauptstrasse - sehr nettes & hilfsbereites Personal (haben nachgefragt was wir unternommen habe & wie es uns geht). - grosses Frühstück, konnte täglich neu bestellt werde - Aussendusche in unserem Apartement :) Nichts, wirklich sehr empfehlenswert!
• Anton (10/5): - Идеально было все. Мы жили в сьюте номер 3, можно было бы назвать отдельной просторной квартирой с огромной верандой. Все сделано с умом и заботой. Завтраки хорошие, яйца в варианте на выбор, йогурт, сосиска, фруктовая тарелка, чай, кофе. Сотрудники такие отзывчивые, добрые, запоминают ваши предпочтения, делают все, чтобы было комфортно. Нам нужен был доктор, сразу же вызвали , помогли с такси. На все просьбы реагировали моментально. На территории тихо, всего 5 номеров. Главная улица в 2х минутах, пляж - в 5. На деревьях видели белок и павлинов, летающих лисиц, а под крыльцом - мангуста) все утопает в зелени. Придраться не к чему, даже думали остаться подольше, но, к сожалению, места были забронированы. Расстроились, но не удивились)

• John (9/5): 20 years in business and you can see why! - A lovely, small property (5 rooms) with a pool. Family room was very spacious and had a nice, private courtyard area next to the pool. A 5-10 min walk to Turtle Beach and the adjoining sheltered bay - good for swimming. A 5-10 min tuk-tuk to get to the beach clubs, the nicer restaurant area (in my opinion) and the surfing beaches. Staff were very friendly and helpful, e.g. arranged for our laundry to be cleaned for a modest price. Breakfast was plentiful. Nothing
• Catherine (10/5): Beautiful and calm villa in Hikkaduwa - Beautiful, large pool with quiet grounds. Our apartment was spacious with lots of storage space and the beds were comfy plus we liked the outdoor (but covered) shower. Big private patio area with a dining table and lounger. Sadly we could only stay one night but wish we could have stayed longer. Only a 10 min walk to the beach. Breakfast was great and the coffee nice and strong! Nothing really. The rooms aren't fancy but that didn't bother us. The whole set-up is just lovely.
• Victoria (10/5): Beautiful stay! - This was the perfect place to stay in Hikkaduwa and we liked it so much that we extended and plan to come back at the end of our trip. The location is a 5 minute walk from the main strip with restaurants and cafes and the beach so it's perfect to be close to it but with peace and quiet and no traffic noise. The room is well designed with wardrobes, safe, dressing table, lamps, good AC, fridge and a kettle - plus a big bathroom with hot water. The WiFi was really strong too. Breakfast was eggs (we recommend soft boiled), delicious toast (good quality bread) and fruit on your own little terrace. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can't go wrong if you want a peaceful place with a pool, still walking distance to all the action. Could do with a couple more working plug sockets

The best coffee we had in our 3 week stay around Sri Lanka, The owners are really helpful and friendly, he even called out a doctor for my Husband, which was much appreciated. The beds are comfy, the rooms are clean, it was nice having a separate room for my Son after alot of Sharing room space . The swimming pool was also a great bonus , we spent a lot of time cooling off around the nice pool area, most of the time we had to ourselves…. Would definitely recommend , loved our stay thank you!!
• Merethe (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed everyone of them. The location of Vila Tara is great just a few minutes walk from the mainstreet but at a quiet and peaceful area. The host Sissira and his family keep everything very well maintained and clean and they do their outmost to give a great service. The rooms were spacious and pool was great and breakfast was delicious and plenty. We would definitely recomment this place to other travelers. No complains for Vila Tara everything was perfect
• Michael (10/5): Nice and very quiet Villa away from the main street but only a 5 minute walk to bars/restaurants - We stayed for 4 nights and the Villa could not have been more perfect. We loved the position which is 5 minutes walk from the busy road where all the bars and restaurant's are so its nice an quiet. The owner was also staying and asked us numerous time if everything was well and organised coffee more than once (best coffee ever). The manager and staff did everything we needed and they made a meal one night of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, all I can say it was stunning. The manager also took us out for a day in his tuk tuk sight seeing up the coast which was well worth it and we went to a gem mine, lake cruise, tsunami museum and a turtle hatchery. I chose this villa after I read the reviews and after staying It only rubber stamped how good it is. All was fine
• Morten (10/5): Clean rooms , beautiful pool and great location - The daily manager Sisira and his family and staff are the perfect hosts- they are professional and attentive, not intrusive and leave you to your privacy on your porch/balcony. The garden and the pool are beautifully kept and maintained. The location is perfect in the quiet backstreets off the busy main road, yet close to restaurants and the beach. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. We were so lucky that Sisira offered to cook dinner for us one night. If you get the offer, make sure that you say yes. He is a former professional chef, and the Sri Lankan food that he served for us on our porch was some of the best that we had on our trip. Needless to say, we highly recommend this place.

• Timothy (10/5): Pleasant, intimate family-run hotel in Hikkaduwa - We only stayed at Villa Tara for a night as the airport was our destination early the next day. We're so glad we spent our last night here! The owner welcomed us with open arms and provided a nice overview of the room and property. As it was the end of the main tourist season, we were upgraded to a suite without extra charge. The pool is beautifully maintained. As I mentioned earlier, we had an early start to the airport, so a breakfast was provided fort us extra early (5:30AM). While we did not explore Hikkaduwa, we liked that we were not so close to the main street provided peace and quiet. Everything was great!

• Eveliina (10/5): The best hotel on our trip in Sri Lanka! - Loved everything! The hotel is clean and the pool was so nice. The bed was comfy and the AC really good. The location is good, just a small walk from the beach and shops and restaurants. The owner and the staff were all so friendly and helpful, such lovely people! We booked the room for one night but ended up extending for three and felt sad to leave. So if you are thinking about booking the place, do it! You won’t regret it :)

Sisira and his wife are incredibly welcoming and friendly and keep Villa Tara very clean and tidy. They serve a great breakfast, freshly made to order and with superb coffee. Very large bedroom with a comfortable four poster bed, large balcony (see note below) and a fridge. Nice swimming pool with sufficient loungers. No kettle in the room. The description of the balcony should highlight that it is shared with a standard room next door = not totally private
• Kevin (10/5): Fantastic, so go good we extended an extra night. - Fantastic hospitality. Only a couple minutes walk to the main road, and a couple more to the beach. It's not quite cheap, but not bad considering other nearby options as well. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast options are also great. Highly recommend getting one of the second-floor rooms to enjoy the balcony. It's hard to nitpick. More water pressure would've been nice, but it was the best of the three places I stayed in Sri Lanka. Also would be nice if there was a place to charge devices near the bed in the loft.

• Dmitry (10/5): Nice place to stay at Sri Lanka for beach vacation - We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. It was our first experience at Sri Lanka. The location of Villa Tara at Hikkaduwa city is optimal - in jungle forest but in ten minutes from the beach also. Property is in fine condition and professionally managed. You will be provided with a top quality guest service. Also you feel yourself like living in jungles absolutely alone as villa is not crowded and the staff appears only when needed..... Full breakfast is served at the villa pool area and it is fantastic ! It consists of all kind of omelettes ( Sri Lanka style omelette is highly recommended ), sausages, toasts with jam, plate of cut fresh exotic fruits, fresh juice from mango, banana and papaya of a mixture of it, Ceylon black tea or Italian style coffee from local melted coffee beans.... Staff at the site is very helpful and is ready to fulfill any your request at day or even night time. Because of staying at this place our impressions about Sri Lanka are so great that we will come to this island one more time and for sure stay at this place!
