• WJ (8/5): Heerlijk kleinschalig aan het strand - Op Koh Chang ligt het kleinschalige Amber Sands Beach Resort, een plek die je vooral kiest als je op zoek bent naar rust in een tropische, ontspannen omgeving. De bungalows liggen direct aan het strand en je hebt er een fijn zwembad erbij, wat het geheel heel gemoedelijk en persoonlijk maakt. Eigenaar Simon en zijn vrouw zijn altijd vriendelijk en zorgen voor een prettige, ongedwongen sfeer, en je kunt er ook gewoon goed eten. Wij zijn er inmiddels voor de derde keer geweest omdat de locatie echt prachtig en rustig is, ver weg van de drukte (die je alleen met een scooter of auto in zo’n 10 minuten opzoekt). Wel blijft één punt steeds terugkomen: de bedden zijn vrij hard en niet heel comfortabel. Daarnaast viel het deze keer op dat het geheel wat minder goed verzorgd oogde dan bij eerdere bezoeken, wat jammer is. Toch weegt dat voor ons niet op tegen de rust en de unieke ligging. Als je echt wilt ontsnappen aan toerisme en houdt van stilte, zee en natuur, dan is dit nog steeds een aanrader. Wat deze keer tegenviel bij het Amber Sands Beach Resort was vooral dat de bedden hard en weinig comfortabel zijn, iets wat elke keer terugkomt. Daarnaast oogde het resort minder goed onderhouden en verzorgd dan tijdens eerdere bezoeken, wat jammer was omdat dat eerder beter was.
• Emilia (10/5): Calm, relaxing, very helpful owner. - What an amazing cosy hotel! Located on the quiet side of the island so very tranquil and relaxing. Still close enough to white sands beach to get some excitement during the day but it was so nice to go back for the evening to the relaxing environment of the hotel. Also worth mentioning that Simon, the owner is extremely helpful. He gave us a lift every morning to the white sands beach and arranged a stress-free transfer to another island for us. The food was delicious, a great combination of traditional Thai dishes with some western options (for when the kids need a break). Warm, helpful and very genuine staff made the stay truly delightful. Would definitely stay there again in the future. Cannot think of anything. It was exactly what we hoped for.
• Amalia (10/5): Entspannte wundervolle Tage mit gutem Essen und viel Ruhe - Das Familiengeführte Hotel ist einfach nur toll, vorallem Simon war immer als Ansprechpartner da, hat uns viele Tipps gegeben und auch mal geholfen, wenn wir eine Fahrt oder Ähnliches gebraucht haben. Das Essen war zu jeder Zeit, sehr frisch und sehr lecker! Am besten hat uns gefallen, dass wenige Leute da sind, da es glaube ich nur 7 Bungalows gibt. Es ist schön ruhig und naturbelassen. Es gibt nicht auszusetzen.

• Vigalex (9/5): Magnifique petit resort familial isolé du centre touristique dirigé par l'adorable Simon et sa femme - - Petit resort familial isolé du monde : le calme. - Simon est adorable et vraiment très serviable. - La cuisine thaïe du restaurant est excellente et adaptée aux personnes qui ne mangent pas épicé. Nous y avons pris quasiment tout nos repas durant les 6 jours où nous sommes restés. Nous n'avons pas été déçus. Si on doit chipoter, je dirai : - l'isolement, mais nous avons choisi ce resort principalement pour ça. Il est nécessaire de conduire un 125 ou de faire appeler un taxi pour se connecter aux endroits avec des commerces et des restaurants. Je le mentionne parce que cela peut devenir un budget si vous bougez tous les jours (comptez 400 bhats pour un trajet). - Le petit-déjeuner : il faut choisir parmi 5 formules, mais on ne peut pas mélanger. Je trouve ça vraiment dommage. J'aurais aimé pouvoir manger des oeufs avec des pancakes par exemple, pas l'un ou l'autre. - la douche ouverte sur le salle de bain avec les toilettes juste à côté (eau partout sur le sol après la douche donc quand on va aux toilettes après, on a les pieds mouillées). 😅 - Lorsque nous sommes arrivés, il y avait 2 familles avec 2 bébés et 2 enfants en bas âge (qui monopolisaient la piscine). Nous avons eu très peur de ne pas profiter du calme, mais ils sont partis le lendemain. La tranquillité dépend donc vraiment du voisinage. Nous étions dans le plus grand bungalow, mais au rez-de-chaussée (ce que je n'avais pas vu en réservant). Nous avons été réveillés par les voisins du dessus (on entend le bruit du plancher donc chaque pas et chaque chose qui tombe). Mais quand ils sont partis, les nouveaux clients étaient beaucoup plus calmes. Nous ne les avons pas entendu.
• Karen (10/5): Heerlijke plek voor een paar dagen Koh Chang - De vriendelijkheid en behulpzaamheid van het personeel De bediening in het restaurant, de eigenaar die ons moeiteloos naar de ferry bracht, de berichtjes voor onze aankomst, om ons een goede reis te wensen en op de hoogte te brengen. De hulp van de medewerkers om ons met de scooter te helpen. Niks was te gek. En de gezellige katjes en hondjes gaven een extra huiselijke sfeer. Het enige wat ik kan bedenken, het was er zeer rustig. Op zich heerlijk natuurlijk en logisch voor een relatief klein resort. Zelf bleken we van iets meer reuring te zijn, maar die hebben we goed op kunnen zoeken, dankzij de scooters.

• John (10/5): Idyllic comfortable and picturesque place to stay - It was the most idyllic relaxing picturesque place you could wish to stay!.. Fabulous home cooked food both Thai and western good value too! Very intimate resort just 8 rooms and the most helpful staff with Simon even collecting us from and dropping us to the ferry and arranging great car hire also. It’s an incredible place to stay!! NOTHING to dislike at all!
• Dirk (8/5): Idyllisches und schönes Resort auf der Ostseite von Koh Chang 🙏🇹🇭 - Super schönes und gepflegtes Resort das mit viel Liebe instand gehalten wird ( Pflanzen, Blumen , Dekoration). Genial in die Natur eingebettete Bungalows mit einem wunderschönen Pool der von der Größe ausreichend ist. Strand auch sehr schön und ohne Probleme begehbar im Gegensatz zudem, was ich alles gelesen habe. Restaurant sehr Geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Ein Chef der sehr hilfsbereit ist und freundlich, wie das gesamte Personal. Für Paare die Ruhe suchen ein absolute paradiesischer Ort. Um Mobil zu sein benötigt man allerdings einen Roller mit dem man die wunderschöne Ostseite richtig erkunden kann. Fußläufig sind aber auch zwei Restaurants erreichbar sowie zwei benachbarte Resorts. Für Partygänger oder Nachtschwärmer ist der Ort aber nicht der richtige . Im Gegensatz zu den Bewertungen , fanden wir das Essen nicht so lecker ....Gerade mein Lieblingsgericht Pad Kra Pao, hatte leider gar nichts mit dem zu tun. Auch würde es beim Frühstück oder auch über den Tag helfen, wenn Wassermelonen, Mangos oder auch Annanas geschnitten zur Verfügung ständen und nicht nur als Frucht-Bowl ( nur auf Anfrage + Zusatzkosten ). Zuviele Katzen im Restaurant, die auf Kissen und Möbel sitzen . Weder hygienisch noch wirklich fördernd für Allergiker.

• Frank (10/5): Cute and quiet gem - What a gem! Tucked away in a quiet bay on the east coast of Koh Chang. Amber Sands describes the beach perfectly. The resort is a cosy, small (in a very good way) and family run affair - Simon, his wife and their team really make the difference. So warm and welcoming, and always ready to help and give useful advice. The food is amazing - not once did we dine out elsewhere. Lots of options and every single dish a tasteful delight. The drinks are great too; we recommend the strawberry lassi or the banana shake (ask for a shot of Malibu). The bungalows are comfy with aircon and ventilator. A decent swimming pool completes the picture. Thanks a lot for a fantastic stay, we'll be back for sure.

• Tsui Hua (8/5): - 這邊的海域比較平靜，適合划獨木舟和SUP，熱帶雨林花園維護得很好，景色很漂亮，安靜放空的地方。 三號房的床墊靠浴室這一側的彈簧床墊已經壞掉了，我跟另一半必須擠到另一側。獨木舟上面的防水蓋遺失了，屋主告訴我們恐到外海會進水下沉，我們只能在近海平靜無波的地方划，感覺有點遺憾。早餐如果能附上水果會更完美。

• Stephan (10/5): - Simon und seine Frau sind überaus herzliche Gastgeber. Unser Apartment Room Nr. 1 war Topp! Direkter Blick auf das Meer, absolut sauber. Jeden Tag werden Wasserflaschen zum Trinken bereit gestellt. Wasserkocher zum zubereiten von Tee und Kaffee inklusive Teebeutel und Instandkaffee sind vorhanden. Ein kleiner Kühlschrank sowie Klimaanlage und Ventilator ebenso. Unserer Meinung nach die Beste Unterkunft wenn du Ruhe, gutes Abendessen und sehr sehr nette Gastgeber suchst. Wir können das Amber Sands Beach Resort mit nur 8 Einheiten voll weiter empfehlen.
• Monika (10/5): Idealnie, Wspaniale, Przemiło i chętnie kiedyś wrócimy. - Wspaniale było tam się zatrzymać. Piękne miejsce w zaciszu, idealne na odpoczynek i reset. Obsługa i właściciel Amber Sands - Simon byli niezwykle mili i pomocni. Zasługują na ogromne wyróżnienie. Widać ze to co robią to ich pasja. Dodatkową atrakcją i przemiłym akcentem naszego pobytu byly zwierzęta ktore mieszkają w resorcie. Przesłodkie białe kotki i pieski. Nie narzucające sie jesli ktos nie przepada ale niezwykle przyjacielskie jesli ktos wyciagnie do nich ręke. Jedzenie w restauracji to kolejny wielki plus. Jeslismy tam jednago z lepszych Pad Thai i Pad See Ew. Bylismy bardzo zaskoczeni bo zwykle w takich resortach kuchnia jest przeciętna. Masaże z ktòrych skorzystalismy rowniez byly bardzo dobre i profesjonalnie wykonane. W tym samym miejscu mozna tez wyporzycic skuter bo do miasta albo zabudowy jest troche daleko, ale to tez ma swoje uroki i plusy. Sniadania ktore byly wliczone w cene pobytu moglyby zawierac jakis dodatkowy owocowy akcent bo tego nam brakowalo. I nieco lepsze pieczywo. Ale to tototalnie drobnostki.

• Emmy (10/5): Aan te raden! - Wat hebben we genoten van ons verblijf in dit kleine paradijs. Superattente gastheer en ook de rest van het personeel blinkt uit in gastvrijheid. Prachtige tropische tuin, mooi zwembad en alles wat je nodig hebt in de kamer. Een geweldige kokkin, kortom...we waren hier graag langer gebleven. Een topper op het bed zou het nog fijner maken

• Esther (9/5): Excellent hidden gem of tranquility - Amber Sands was the perfect place for a much needed resting time. The 2 rooms hut was very comfortable with all we needed. Nothing fancy but furnished with style and decorated with charming and a nice local flavour. As a family run boutique resort, you feel at home. The beautifully kept garden and the pool are great additions to the place. You can also have massages there and the food is great with very reasonable prizes. Staff very nice and attentive. Simon the owner was wonderful. He gave us lifts to the nearby town, organised a renting car for us and took us to the ferry the day we left. A place to come back!

Simon hatte uns per Nachricht zuvor nochmal darauf hingewiesen, dass es etwas abseits liegt, aber mit dem Roller war es gar kein Problem zur Ecke White Sand Beach zu gelangen. Das eigene Restaurant ist sehr gut, man bekommt alles was das Herz begehrt von morgens bis abends.
• Matthew (10/5): Incredible - Super relaxing vibe. Nothing to do except relax. Staff is so nice. Very small property, one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Bungalows are amazing but the bathrooms need a refresh.
• Niels (10/5): Perfect small boutique style location at the beach - Perfect small boutique style location at the beach, with nice bungalows situated around a stunning swimming pool. We spend 4 nights with our 2x young kids. The beach is rather quiet and provides easy access for young kids. Although the sand may not be as stunning as on the other (west) side of Ko Chang, we loved this (east) side way better, as you are off the beaten track. The owner Simon and his staff do everything to make you feel welcome, and arranged even our 5,5h transfer from BKK airport to the hotel, at more than reasonable price. This was a perfect start for our 3 month trip to SEA for us.

• Kendal (10/5): Lovely stay in Koh Chang. Thanks to Simon and Ning. - Lovely property with beautiful designed grounds. We had the upper level seafront suite which made it a perfect choice. Simon at the front and Ning in the kitchen makes it all work well. Paying by credit card for everything made it seamless. Scooters can be rented from the hotel and Simon offers a free ride to White Sands, a beautiful beach near by. The beach is a bit pebbly and not as pretty at low tide.
• Svenpeter (10/5): Wonderful Stay — Highly Recommended - We stayed at this hotel for three nights and were thoroughly impressed. The entire property is beautifully maintained, with plenty of greenery and well-kept gardens that create a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The service was exceptional — the staff were always friendly, attentive, and very helpful. A special thanks to Simon, the manager, who was not only very professional but also incredibly kind and accommodating. He and his team even offered to pick us up if needed and kindly took us to the ferry at the end of our stay. The bungalows are tastefully decorated, with some offering stunning views of the sea. A real highlight was the food — absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. This is the perfect place for anyone looking to unwind and explore the island’s quiet, natural side. Renting a scooter is the best way to get around and discover the surrounding areas. Overall, a fantastic spot to relax — we would gladly return
• Donatas (9/5): perfect place to relax - Just couple of steps from the beach. Quiet place perfect if you don't want to do much just chill and relax. Free paddle boards and kayaks available. The only minus might be is that there is no tv the room that we were staying. It's not a major issue as I wouldn't have had time to watch it.

• Kate (10/5): Exceptional - A peaceful slice of paradise that was the perfect place to end our travels through Asia. This family friendly resort is set amongst lush gardens with very clean attractive bungalows, a pristine swimming pool, gorgeous beach setting with paddle boards and kayaks to use and excellent service. Simon was a wonderful host who arranged a car rental for us to see the beautiful rugged East Coast of Koh Chang. He also gave us advice on what to see and do and he arranged our taxi back to Bangkok. We thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility of Amber Sands and my girls miss Polar and Bear, the two gorgeous resort dogs. Thank you for such a memorable stay, it was exactly like all the fabulous reviews I read prior to booking described and I really hope we get to return to this beautiful spot one day.
• Mary (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is not far from the ferry port and is on a quieter side of the island set in beautiful gardens right on the beach. Owners are very friendly and welcoming as is their lovely staff. We stayed in the downstairs seafront bungalow and it was well appointed and had a feel of being private. Room/bed/bathroom all very comfortable. The restaurant was great for breakfast and delicious curries etc. A great place to get away from it all. Motorbikes are available for a reasonable price to explore the island.

If you look for staying at a quiet place to stay in a beautiful environment surrounded by friendly people and coddled with delicious food it is the place to be. Simon, Ning and all the team are super friendly and helpful. Simon drove us to the other side of the Island when a pick-up for diving did not arrive in time in the morning and Ning helped with soothing balms after I had a scooter accident. The food in their restaurant is wonderful. Start the day with a rice soup, fruits or a Thai omelet if you dare to step away from western or British breakfast, it is the best start into the day. And later on, do not miss the wonderful Morning Glory or Fried Egg or Papaya Salad and the mouth watering curries and end the day with a great cocktail like the Gin basil smash. Simon was also so friendly to give us the sails for the catamaran so we could sail it in the ocean just down the beach. Thanks you for everything, Amber Sand team, we would love to come back!

The bungalows are very comfortable with a lovely view out to the beautiful well-maintained garden, up to the lovely pool area and out to sea. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. We loved it so much that we extended our stay, and hope to return in the future. The beach was a little bit dirty so we weren't tempted to swim, though we saw other guests enjoying a swim. The location was quite remote but we hired a scooter so this wasn't a problem for us.

• Julian (10/5): What an amazing retreat. Wonderful hospitality. Beautiful memories - The place including the grounds, pool and rooms are kept immaculately. The room we were in felt so open and bright. The food was excellent. The best thing though was the incredible hospitality of the staff and owners. We really felt like we were welcome and looked after there. When we first arrived we were immediately disappointed to drive beyond all the hustling built up centres on Koh Chang but by the end of our start we would choose Amber sands again in a heart beat. Not a lot - The beach has its appeal but is not as nice as others on the island. That said, there are far fewer people to share it with. They also offered stand up paddle boards and kayaks for use on the often beautifully flat waters. Sunrises were magical

It was quiet and peaceful with a lovely atmosphere for families. It's on the other side of the island to most shops, restaurants etc, but we really appreciated the courtesy ride to white sands. Ning's cooking is so good, we didn't want to eat anywhere else anyway!
• Marc (9/5): Superb - This place is wonderful. First of all, the staff is so friendly and helpful. It made our stay extra special. The resort has all the facilities you need; a pool, kayaks, restaurant, live music, we loved it. The garden is also worth mentioning, it’s maintained on a daily basis and it looks stunning. The resort is small-scale which was a big plus for us, it’s all nice and quiet. A big recommendation for people who just want to enjoy the quieter side of Koh Chang!

Family owned, you feel at home, the owner does whatever to make you feel comfortable. Facilities are available for free. A real feel good place. With a bike you get around from here to the best places to visit. Absolutely recommended. This side of the island is more exposed to scrap from the sea. More effort is required to keep the beach clean.

• L.maria.m (8/5): Very good - Perfect place if you want to chill out, it's very calm and quite. I really like the resort, the bungalows are big, clean and good equipped. So comfortable! The owner is very nice and helpful. Restaurant has very good food and coffee. The beach has really amber sand, for us that was ok. The water was not so perfect, totally not clear, dark and looks like "dirty". But the resort also has small swimming pool.

The beach is not long but walkable and when the sea is not inviting, there is a pool. Simon was a super host, he gave us a ride into town a couple of times but mostly we stayed in relaxing and eating at the restaurant. Definitively recommended if you prefer the quiet life. Everything was great for us.

The rooms are perfect, and the beds are soooooo comfortable, you won’t believe it! The kitchen and the food served there are top notch! Come check it out yourself! And don’t be mistaken, it’s called Resort, but it’s a perfect family spot which a lot of life and charm to it! Absolutely nothing!
