- Peinado (10/5): -

- Elizabete (10/5): - The guesthouse was very cozy, spotless, and the hosts were exceptionally kind and helpful. The location is convenient. We also had breakfast and enjoyed it very much. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.
Many thanks to our wonderful hosts, Alicia and Jacobo!
- Jose (9/5): -
- Tereza (10/5): - Wonderful accomodation and very nice hosts🙂The breakfasts were delicious, too.
- Priscil·la (9/5): -
- Ángeles (10/5): Exceptional - Everything All was great
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant -
- Margit (10/5): We would come back any time and will recommend it to our friends! - We loved to relax and discover the area!
It was so quiet, no planes, sirens or motorcycles.
The house and garden are beautiful. Alicia and Jacobo did an outstanding job with breakfast, different every morning!
Their two dogs are well behaved and good watch dogs.
- Baselu (10/5): Great inland stay - Great breakfast, clean room, very good guidance regarding the places to visit and to eat. Huge yard, very good for stargazing.
- Andrew (8/5): Nice accommodation in a scenic countryside - Set in rural and scenic countryside with a very helpful hostess. We had an enjoyable 8 day stay attending an international event. Great size studio room and bathroom. Overall, a very nice area to explore. Very friendly dog and horse and large garden area. • Unfortunately, there was no Wi-Fi in the out out-based studio room. Wi-fi is available in the main building lounge where the router is located nearby, but even then, I found the signal pretty weak.
• Lovely bathroom but lack of a ventilation fan means the floor gets very slippery. Opening the window is not really an option as too many mosquitoes.
• Would be great if the room had a kettle to boil water for coffee as we had to use the Microwave.
• It would be helpful if the radiators were modernised with thermostats so the heat can be regulated.
• The main yard and pathway consists of large cobbles and as a result the pathway leading to out-based rooms can be very slippery when wet due to leaves from surrounding trees. Bring appropriate shoes but ideally periodic pressure washing would help.
Tips
1) Wherever you are staying in the area, there seems to be lots of mosquitoes so if you are not used to them, come well prepared. Keep windows closed!
2) There are some restaurants about a 10-minute drive in a car. However, they generally do not open for food until 20:30 or 21.00. Eating very late is the norm for this area of Spain. Note: Most restaurants do not open Sundays and Mondays so plan around this.
- Hilda0414 (10/5): An amazing country respite, for us, after completing the Primitivo - This is not just a place to stay, but rather it is an experience. It is a centuries-old manor that has a vineyard and has been in Alisha's family these many years. We had room #6 for two nights and could see both, the lovely gardens and the family chapel from our windows. Alisha lives with her husband, their adorable and smart dog, and a white horse on the premises. Be sure to choose the optional breakfast as it is healthy, beautifully presented and abundant. If you do not speak Spanish, it is of no concern. Alisha's English is very good. Also no supper is provided on site, but the owner arranged a taxi for us to ride a short distance to one of the best restaurants with fresh, local food that we have experienced while in Spain.
Our room was spotlessly clean, fresh smelling and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was nice and hot, and there is a hair dryer, body wash and shampoo. I am so pleased we were able to experience these two days at Alisha and Jacobo's home and highly recommend it to you.
- Alvaro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (9/5): Superb - Beautiful country location, pretty and comfortable room, kind hosts, vast garden and nice resident horse.
We were sorry not to have asked for breakfast, because what we saw other guests having was very tempting.
- Kathryn (9/5): A magical property which feels like a secret garden - Our newly renovated apartment was spacious and comfortable. The Pazo is a beautiful property, with extensive grounds, and a white horse that wanders the grounds freely, giving a magical feeling to the place. We had breakfast one morning, which was ample and delicious. The surrounding area is peaceful and lovely, but provides remarkable swift access to Santiago de Compostela by car. The best of all was our hostess, Alicia, who is warm and thoughtful, and provided many excellent recommendations of things to do and restaurants in the region. She is completely delightful to talk with. She speaks some English and was patient with our very imperfect slow Spanish. We would definitely stay here again. We arrived in summer, when mosquitos were abundant. If we opened the windows to take advantage of the cool breeze in the evening, the mosquitos invaded and apparently liked us quite a lot for dinner.
- Ronald (9/5): The best you can find in Santiago region - Wonderful location nearby Santiago, just 15 min drive.
Clean room
Nice central room
Delicious breakfast
- Mazen (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast, garden and reception were excellent
- Ferran (9/5): Superb -
- Graeme (8/5): Very good - Good hosts, helpful and approachable. Easy free parking, Breakfast was ample.
Lovely crisp white bedding, v comfy bed.
Handy local bar 100mts away for a nightcap.
3 x vino's and a huge excellent brandy for €10 ...😎🙃🍷🍷🍷
An interesting old family home/conversion. Eco friendly Toiletries were pretty ineffective but I support the principle. My wife suggests bring your own shampoo & conditioner.
TV in room pretty pointless ( tiny screen) unless you're a fluent spanish speaker.
Dogs from neighbouring properties barked through the night , a mosquito in the room ruined the first night's sleep, the property is surrounded by a large beautiful garden full of trees, maybe a mozzi spray in the room is a must, we bought one and slept v well our second night in the lovely bedding and comfy bed.
- Helmut (9/5): Superb - very very lovly persons 🌞and wonderfull furniture and Great Garden uncreadebly👍
- Mariana (10/5): Perfect family retreat - Lovely pazo with an amazing garden and friendly and welcoming hosts. It is perfect to get around Galicia. Only a short drive from Santiago and close to the main roads, making very easy to travel around.
The breakfast was amazing. Actually way better than the buffet ones. It changed daily and the quality and taste was always excellent.
In the evening there is also the option of having 'tostas' and drinks. We didn't try them, but the selection seemed great.
Our family room was quite new, but had a rustic feeling. My kids loved it. Especially the fact that they had direct access to the garden Nothing
- Luis (8/5): Very good -
- annar20182018 (10/5): Charming Country Inn - What a fantastic country inn! My room was in the main house which was a good size. It was bright and spotless, with plenty of closet space and a great WiFi connection. The rest of the house was charming with lots of fresh flowers and comfortable seating.
Breakfast was amazing! Maika’s prepared a real feast with individual cups of fruit covered with yogurt, crepes, eggs, warm bruschetta and of course plenty of good coffee and juice.
I suggest dinner at Roberto’s which is a just a one minute walk from the inn.
- 800julianr (10/5): Pazo Cibran - Relaxing and Rural - Maica and Chino are lovely people, even though are Spanish is very poor, they were patient and very helpful, even ordered us a taxi to go into Santiago De Compostela which was less than 30 Euro's round trip. Nice breakfast, excellent garden to relax in. Safe parking for our motorcycles. Our room was an excellent size with a good bath room. We found it with the Satnav, but if you look out for the bar Barrio, go down the lane beside it for 30 yards or so and it's on your right just as a small vineyard ends.
- sancec (8/5): What an incredible place - - We weren't sure what to expect when we made reservations at this country B&B....were we ever surprised. This fabulous/quaint/wonderful/homey 18th century farmhouse is located out in the countryside surrounded by nature where in the mornings you hear roosters cocking, birds chirping and lush greenery all around you, and about a 20 minute drive to Santiago de Compostela. The place is run by Maika who is a fabulous host along with her small staff who make you feel very much at home. The daily breakfast is always 'farm fresh' and delicious, but what made our stay special were the other guests staying there. Our four day visit was a lot of fun, we met some wonderful people and left Galicia with memories that have us coming back and staying again at Pazo Cibrán.
- txbiker (10/5): a perfect experience-Like staying with friends-if your friends happen to be amazing hosts with a sprawling property full - Not much to add to the other reviews-they're pretty spot on. Maika (Maria Carmen) is a superb host. Wilmer is delightful. She manages to run the house efficiently but it's still a wonderfully casual experience. My room was in the main house upstairs-very cute. The wifi is strong in the rooms and the bathroom was spacious and spotless. Lovely enormous bathtub with a shower. Balcony that looked out at the chapel on the property-very pretty. I was walking the Camnio and this was minor detour to stay the night in the countryside. So worth it. Such a cool place. I didnt' get to eat at the nearby Casa Roberto's-it was closed--but Maika took pity on a weary traveller and fed me some homemade caldo galego and bread and cheese and arranged a wine purchase from a local winery that was ready and waiting for me the next morning when I checked out. I doubt very seriously the restaurant could have done any better. :-) Such a lovely place-worth going back to Santiago to to visit with them! Gracia Maika!!
Gastfreundschaft in Perfektion! Zahlung mit Kreditkarte möglich
- MORREY (4/5): Small room in coverted outhouse, disappointing - We arrived at the guest house late afternoon. We were greeted by a man in charge who spoke no English at all. As a result it took a long time to book in. We followed him down a dark passage at the back of an out building to our room. Inside a narrow passage went past the bathroom to a small bedroom area with another stable door opening onto the courtyard where we had parked the car (motel style). The only time we went to the main house door was to pick up the key so we do not know what it was like inside. The room was very clean, well maintained, had a small TV and had two hard single beds. There was no coffee/tea facility, no fridge and just a one very small window. It took quite a long time to go to sleep due to the noise from next door. The bathroom had a bath and shower and toiletries. There was free WiFi and it was strong. We strolled to the back of the hose to look at the garden, but there were just neglected chairs which appeared unused for some time. Just up the road from the guest house was a very nice pub which we visited for a drink and eats.In the morning we left at around 7h30. It took us 20 minutes to get the car out as the cars in the courtyard were sandwiched in so tight. Not a good experience and would not recommend or wish fellow travelers to experience this.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice house with an excellent host - the house is beautiful, very well located at 10 mins from Santiago de Compostela. The warm attention that Maica gives to everyone really makes a difference. Totally recommended for families and enderly people. We went with my husband, teenage and 7 year old daughters and my 75 year old mom. Everyone liked the hotel, and breakfast!
- Jose F (6/5): - Bien
- SpainloverCheltenham (10/5): Comfortable, spotlessly clean, welcoming - Comfortable & spotlessly clean rooms, a warm welcome from Maica, well looked after by Wilmur, breakfast laid out in a delightful sitting room each morning contained fresh produce, something a little difference each day. Local restaurant & friendly tapas bar within easy walking distance. A perfect alternative to staying in Santiago de Compostela. Address recognised by Apple Maps. Beautiful house, wonderful welcome.
- 641jeffreyw (10/5): Would return to Santiago just to stay here - I echo the sentiment of many of the other people who have stayed here and written about it on Tripadvisor, particularly Hannah below, who says that she would return to Spain just to stay at Pazo Cibran. We loved Santiago, but even if we had not, Maica and Chino (Wilmur) made us so welcome and comfortable, we would make a special trip just to spend a week at the relaxing, idyllic Pazo. We went to Pazo Cibran with my small dog, and she was treated like a little princess--was thrilled running around the immense grounds and hanging out with Wilmur while we visited Santiago. We would have liked to stay even longer than the three days that were scheduled. Beautiful, immense grounds, comfortable accommodations, lovely public spaces, delicious food...but ultimately what won our hearts over was the incredible hospitality and openness of the hosts. I would highly recommend going to Meson Roberto down the road and doing their Pazo Cibran menu. For fifteen euros, you will have a delicious three course meal. It was the restaurant deal of our whole trip.
- 305hannahi (10/5): Amazing is an understatement? - I will return to Spain in order to stay at Pazo Cibran again. I guess you could call it a hidden gem as it is just outside the city of Santiago De Compostela. Maica (the owner) was one of the most touching people I met while on a 4 month journey through Europe. She made me feel completely at home, going out of her way to do anything and everything in order to make me feel that way. The food is unspeakably good, traditional, and fresh. One night turned into three, and I will be back again one day. Obviously, Pazo Cibran is highly recommended. Beautiful and serene location, amazing service, amazing staff, clean, and warm! Plus, it is only a quick ride to the city of Santiago De Compostela(about 8 miles), a Spanish MUST see.----thank you Maica and Whelmer!!Xx
- soha5017 (10/5): A gem - I went there with trepidation as was concerned that we were not staying at a five star hotel. My misgivings were completely misplaced - what a quaint lovely place - a home rather than a hotel. We were warmly welcomed along with our five pugs - maica could not have been warmer nor more helpful. The rooms were spotless and super comfortable. The breakfast was a feast - all local and fresh. A wonderful experience.
- 719ilonav (10/5): This is THE place for you, if you are looking for a rural experience outside of Santiago. - Talk about cozy and quaint country living!!! This is the spot. We were a total of nine people (combined ages) on a family vacation and all of us found a lot of love of this hidden treasure. The vineyard in the backyard, the stringed lit outdoor patio for a family get-together, the comfortable and clean accommodations, home cooking, the local bar and nearby gourmet restaurant -both at walking distance- left us all wanting for me. And, all this not to mention its strategic location minutes away from Santiago de Compostela and famous Camino. Of course, I can't not mention the wonderful hostess and Pazo owner, Maika who did everything she could to accommodate each and everyone of us.
- EUROPEAN25 (10/5): EXCELLENT and FANTASTIC!!! - This "Pazo" is a real "treasure": a great location near to Santiago de Compostela with a fantastic atmosphere (house, garden, park), a wonderful, charming and lovable host (her name is Maica/ Carmen) and a great place to celebrate!
I recently celebrated my special birthday in the Pazo Cibrán, together with 35 friends from 10 different nations, and ALL OF US were excited about everything: about the location, the rooms, breakfast, food, wine, hospitality - and reasonable prices!
Highly to recommend to people looking for something "different", for not "in-crowd" and for an "invidual and tastful" stay
- 857suzannew (10/5): A hidden treasure - We can't say enough wonderful things about Maika and her charming, comfortable rural hotel near Santiago. She is a gem! From welcoming wine, to delicious breakfasts, lively conversations even though we didn't know Spanish, to help with directions and sights she was always there for us. Her inn is quaint and homey and the grounds are lovely. Comfortable rooms and bath added to our enjoyment. D&S from NH,USA
- GomezandMorticia (6/5): Mixed feelings. Better than average but not Very Good. - It was ridiculously difficult to find. When we got there, they were expecting us the NEXT day! (despite having booked about 2 months earlier!). However, they were very apologetic and found us a room, which was fine. Unfortunately they couldn't serve dinner (cos we weren't expected) but recommended Restaurante Roberto nearby, where we had an excellent meal. Unfortunately we had very noisy neighbours who felt the need to watch TV until about 1am the next morning and were possibly deaf? Paper thin walls! Hurray for earplugs!. And...the biggest problem was squeaky floorboards!!!! They should really get that sorted out! But we had a lovely breakfast and they recommended somewhere to visit on the next part of our trip, which was kind. And the location was nice. So....overall, I think the experience was good..but could have been better. (But could have been a lot worse!)
- GordonT513 (10/5): Little gem in the Country - Found it no problem using the map from their web site. Try the local spelling of the village San Xian (not San Xulian) for sat nav. Great welcome and lovely breakfasts. The room were very clean and spacious. The countryside and surrounding area are great. For an evening meal you MUST go to Restaurante Roberto. 50m down the road a big building on the left(has a web site.) The food and dining experience are outstanding not cheap but worth every Euro. The entrance is the big white door it has a small brass plaque on it which say entrance. Beware the open Spanish hours (8pm onwards).
- itropicbird (6/5): Probably nice if you can find it - I was so looking forward to our stay at Pazo Cibran where I had made an advance non-refundable reservation for 4 persons the evening of the Feast of St. James festivities. I am very sorry to say we never were able to find it. We had rented a car from Enterprise and paid extra for a GPS and used it on our drive to Fisterra but for some reason it would not accept Pazo Cibran's address for a destination. So we phoned Pazo Cibran and asked if they might pick us up from where we had parked the car near the train station. We at least wanted to get checked in and know where the hotel was, maybe get a ride back to the car with the thought that we could then drive back to the hotel later (some hotels have the ability to pick you up and drop you off, you need only ask). My daughter studied abroad in Valladolid so she speaks Spanish very well, and was told they do not provide that service. OK, so we set out with our faulty GPS (of course no fault of the hotel), a map of the hotels's location I had preprinted before our trip and the directions from the woman who answered the phone at the hotel, but on multiple passes, we were not able to find the street we were told to exit on. It was the night of that terrible train derailment which was not too far away, so we encountered some traffic as we drove back and forth, back and forth along the highway. The holiday festivities were cancelled due to the tragedy so all we needed was to find the hotel for the evening. We called the hotel back a couple times, each time we knew we were pretty close but could not find the exact place, but my daughter said the woman was getting annoyed on the phone. We stopped at another hotel for directions (they could only point out on a map a general location, which we already knew, but could not tell us exactly how to get there), and we tried to get more information on Wi-Fi with no success, but by then it was already dark. So we landed up paying just to stay at an albergue for the night close to the airport, while our 2 prepaid rooms sat empty at Pazo Cibran. The reviews for Pazo Cibran are good which is why I selected them and I believe we would have enjoyed our stay but when other reviews state they went out of their way to help, we did not find this to be true. I would caution a traveler not all GPS units may be able to get you here, a taxi would probably be the best bet (if you can get one--that night there were unusual circumstances), but since many streets are NOT marked in Spain, trying to negotiate your way here via car with verbal or written directions is near impossible.
- monmac (10/5): More than met our expectations... - Once we found Pazo Cibran ( the sat nav took use out 8km a south so beware) we decided to go into Santiago. Because of the trouble finding our way there, Alicia took out her car and we followed her into the city, she took us straight to car park. With such a good start the two days we spent with Maica. Alicia and Dena? got better and better. We were a group of 6 ! all over 60 who had been travelling for over a week. What a great place to unwind, we could have stayed much longer had we known how beautiful it was. I reiterate all that has been previously said about the breakfast and evening meal, we had a lovely Galician evening meal fo 15€ each with great local wines at a fraction of restaurant prices. If you are travelling this area try Pazo Cibran, we stayed in 3 wonderful Paradors on our trip but Pazo Cibran and its people stole our hearts.
