Guest Reviews
- Holly (8/5): -
- Kim (9/5): Great location - convenient to Dominican University; always friendly and helpful staff! - Fairly simple. Could use a bit more variety.
- Gabor (8/5): - van étterme
- Gerald (1/5): Unsuitable for any value - Nothing. It was in a run down part of town and our room was out front by the street with only one lock between us and an unsafe area It was in a run down part of town and our room was out front by the street with only one lock between us and an unsafe area. Plus the room had a stained comforter on the bed. When they came to change the bed cover, they put on another stained cover. Plus lots of curly white hairs on the floor and the room smelled awful.
- Alan Warburton (8/5): - Comfortable bed and pillows, very clean and quiet location, close to centre of town, would definitely stay again Nothing, all good
- Benjamin (7/5): -
- Diane (8/5): -
- Jeroen (7/5): - Friendly staff, convenient location, spacious rooms, nice restaurant. Breakfast was quite limited. The pillows were a bit thin.
- robert (8/5): - The restaurant was great !!
- Soledad (6/5): -
- Jason (6/5): Pleasant, but with issues. - Location was convenient and quiet in spite of proximity to freeway. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Plentiful parking. Convenient amenities and a well-stocked vending machine. Breakfast available. Housekeeping must have had a bad day before my check-in. Found clumps of long hair in the shower. Room was in dire need of refurbishment. Carpet was in poor shape, bathroom was in desperate need of new paint, and the furniture has likely been there since the '80s.
- Jeffrey (7/5): -
- Cynthia (10/5): -
- Yevgeniy (3/5): - Food Everything
- Mariusz (8/5): Value for money. - Nice staff, breakfast better than in other hotels on the road, big room with regular kitchen. Around shops and restaurants long open. The furniture are worn out but it was clean.

- chandana (7/5): Room was okay but poor management - Location is good. Size of the room is good and its clean. No extra fee for pets The property did not have trash cans to dispose of the pet waste. No green patches around.
The guest right next to our room was smoking weed and cigarettes right outside the room and the smoke was entering into our room and it was disgusting. The property management should be strict about no smoking policies.
- e30bf4477f25714c2048ea148a4b381d (8/5): It was a perfect place to stop for a night after a long drive. - Right off 101 and close to town I liked everything about the property. I am someone who needs a very firm bed to sleep. So for me, the bed was too soft. But this is not something negative about the property.
- 2ad1643745ba73f210acb067f48ede00 (7/5): - The host was nice and helpful and inviting There was mold in the bathroom and the room had a stale/suffocating kind of smell, lack of air flow
the mold gave me headaches
the carpet was dirty
the bed wasn’t warm enough
not enough covers
- bcfe9c486a3270e8933a17fd25151e1c (6/5): What what i paid for. - Loved the affordability and conviene of location The place was a bit old and just needs refurbishment
- 4bbd0b678220709f41b884de3ad6f0b0 (3/5): Needs remodeling, get rid of carpet, breakfast was not good -
- Elissa (8/5): The room was clean. The breakfast was nice. - Online I had an upstairs room we’re 70 years old. It was hard to go up the stairs.
- C. E. (10/5): Very nice - Staff were excellent restaurant was great

- Merry (10/5): Stay at Villa Inn - Having a separate little kitchen area was nice. It was a smoker room. We aired it out and it was fine.
- Schanzer (9/5): -
- Steven (10/5): -
- Manuel (1/5): Never stay here! - Bugs on the wall and in the bed. Bed not comfortable. Breakfast not good and staff not friendly. Noisy inside the room and outside
- fang (8/5): A beautiful litter gem in the city. - Nice place to stay a night there. If the breakfast could be better that would be better. Clean and quiet.
- Karen (8/5): Ticked all the boxes - It had everything needed for a short stay. The bed was comfortable. It was useful having a microwave The breakfast was very basic
- Jeff (7/5): -

- Eudi (8/5): -
- Mirian (7/5): Decent stay - It was a decent stay to sleep. It could use better maintenance It was clean but the room had a humid smell and had bugs
- Escobedo (10/5): Cómodo - Todo
- Andreana (10/5): -
- Taylor (5/5): Do able for one night. Would not stay here again. - The people that work there are so sweet. It was really dirty. When I walked into my room there was trash in the bin still, champagne corks in the corner of the room, and dust everywhere. Also, the room next door to me had construction going on during the day which was a bit noisy. I went down to the vending machine to get a water bottle and it took my money. The entire place was a bit run down and the rooms need a desperate upgrade.
- Cathy (10/5): The most safe peaceful place I had on a roadtrip from TX to CA. - Quaint little gem perfect for peace and value! The owner and Tommy in the office were exceptionally nice. The room was perfect. An historic place modernized. Folks will love it. There was not one thing to dislike.
- larry (10/5): - Very clean
- Zuzana (7/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): Clean, spacious, great location and price! - It was clean, the room was very spacious, and the location was great. They allow pets, so I really couldn’t ask for anything more. I have zero complaints.
- VIVIALYN (7/5): -
- Aldo (10/5): -
- Kentesha (1/5): Horrible, never stay here unless it was the last place on earth - Nothing This hotel was very dirty, mysterious stains on mattress, spiders, I checked out two days early because it was so bad.
- October (5/5): -
- Benjamin (5/5): Zero Bouge - This place is a little sketchy. Someone was arrested a couple of rooms down from me one morning.
- Randall (9/5): The Villa Inn was a very good place for us to stay. It met our needs. Breakfast was unimpressive. - The room and the location. The breakfast was a disappointment.
- Dasha (9/5): Really enjoyed it for what I paid. - Pleasant room, lovely location near a corner shop, breakfast was satisfactory! Staff could have been cheerier, but what the hell. Also wish they'd offered more protein, less sugar at breakfast.
- Andrew (10/5): - A paid turn down service would have made the stay more relaxing.
- Claudia (9/5): Cozy hotel room. - The location and the beautiful scenery. The restaurant wasn’t open.
- Jerilyn (10/5): - Comfy bed, clean, quiet
- Pierce (8/5): Love the waffles - I’ve stayed there about ten times over the years.
- Abraham (10/5): -
- King (9/5): Home Away from Home - This is the 4th time we have stayed at this hotel. While it is humble and not fancy, we love it! My daughter lives with disabilities so needs a bath tub. We like to breakfast in the room so appreciate the hot water maker, fridge & microwave.
My sister lives very close by so the location is great for us, too. This place is our home-away whenever we visit San Rafael. Zero complaints. Truly.
- Diane (8/5): - The owner is nice Should extend breakfast hours on New Years Day. Felt rushed. Ran out of eggs and they wouldn't make more.
- Maxwell (10/5): Thank you - Tom the desk person was the best. The bar was closed. The main reason I stayed there. It's were my mom met my stepfather.
- Brenda (8/5): -
- Jhuliana Fiorella (6/5): -
- annette (9/5): In Marin. Very good price plus facilities and breakfast very good - Breakfast was great. Fresh made waffles, fruit, toast, cereal, juice, etc. Nice room very good service. Everything was fine.
- Allen S. (10/5): Excellent location old world kindness - Nice quiet clean very professional Nothing.
- Willy (7/5): Cozy, very comfortable And great value -
- Nau (7/5): Reasonable value good location - Classic "Route 66" style facility. Everything worked, newly remodeled bathroom, quiet and comfortable heating, clean, decent bed and good cable TV and wifi. The free breakfast was minimal, like it came from Walmart. Ok coffee, OJ, and milk, muffins, box of raisin bran and banana. Plain waffle to order. Nice staff. The furniture in the room was functional but dated and a bit worn. Despite these shortcomings I would go back.
- Martin (9/5): -
- Jeff (6/5): -
- M. L'Engle (9/5): Great value but most importantly the staff was very kind and accommodating to our needs. I would highly recommend it. - Value and location Sone ants in the lavatory
- Ted (8/5): -
- Kendra (10/5): Exactly what I needed! Thank you. -
- Maria (7/5): Very nice staff and restaurant staff. - Easy to park and complimentary breakfast was good.
- marroquin (10/5): -
- Bardoni (10/5): It was a nice surprise and good value. - Nice to have breakfast at hotel
- Maarten de Ru (7/5): Good for a short stopover—simple, convenient, and hassle-free. - Stayed 1 night at Villa Inn. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff could’ve been friendlier, but it wasn’t a big issue. Good for a short stopover—simple, convenient, and hassle-free. Staff was tired ;)
- Dina (8/5): -
- Hayley (9/5): Amazing little breakfast included, nice cleaning and kitchen staff. Simple place with everything you need -
- Alfred (10/5): -
- Anna (8/5): For one night if you aren’t picky - Location is good, big room, friendly staff. The carpet and furniture are outdated, and there was an old, musty smell. The place didn’t feel very clean, noticed some spiderwebs in a few corners. Half of the curtain was torn off. Because of nearby construction, it was noisy, even at night. Breakfast is limited and no choice , need to ask about the toster to warm the bagel.
- Anne (8/5): -
- Francesca (8/5): - Tutto bene, buona pulizia e letti comodi. NIente da segnalare
- Leah (7/5): - Personnel Very leaky faucet in bathtub
- Christine (8/5): - Staff & location
- Adela (9/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Debbie Mytels (8/5): I fine place to stay in a roomy bedroom with nice linens -- and a very good value. - The new towels in the bathroom were great, and the white comforter on the bed was very soft and warm. I also liked that there was a comfortable table with TWO chairs, as well as a desk and chair to match it as well. It was a little older, with the remodeling probably having been done about 10 years ago. The only issue where repair was needed was in the shower, where the handle for the hot-and-cold water was somehow broken. It still WORKED, but the handle had been pulled from its normal position.
- Gina (10/5): Great quaint stay, in best neighborhood near downtown San Rafael for the $ by far - Friendly staff & wonderful location. Great hidden gem in San Rafael. The new restaurant is a step back in time to the turn of the century! So cute & quaint! Authentic Italian Cuisine right outside your door! I will definitely go back just for the restaurant and to try the happy hour, as my schedule was too busy to try it! Construction was a small annoyance.
