- Joe (10/5): The went all out! - Super cozy!
The owners of this property thought of every detail. As soon as we arrived, they had a personal note on the door super easy check-in and check out then we walk to are cabin and they thought of every detail from next to the bed on either side or both beds have somewhere you can plug-in. They thought of coffee with cream and sugar there even tea toaster. This place is amazing! They even thought of the smallest detail of a black makeup cloth. There’s never been one hotel yet that we’ve been at where they have a makeup cloth that’s black. I highly recommend this place.
- Leslie (8/5): The owners were very accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed our one night stay in Talkeetna very much. Wish we could have - The cabin was accurately described, comfortable, and very clean. It had two big queen-size beds, a small kitchenette and a nice bathroom. It was larger than a standard double hotel room so we had more space than normal during our one night stay. NA
- Patrice (10/5): - Super clean. High quality towels. Very modern. Easy access since close to town. We WILL be back!
- Diana (10/5): - Property cozy and clean. Owners were more helpful, kind and more than accommodating!
- Eric (10/5): - Cute little cabin with all the necessities.
- Kara (10/5): - Mike & his family were lovely! They gave me a sense that I was staying with relatives. If you are looking for a great experience in Talkeetna Ho & see them. If I’m ever I tbe atea, I will stay again!!!
- Clinton (10/5): Cozy cabins near town - Getting to the cabins was a breeze and we were able to settle in quickly. The cabin itself was really cozy and had everything we needed. Walking to town was a breeze and we wouldn't hesitate to come back again!
- Stacie (10/5): - Favorite place we stayed our entire trip. If I could give this place a 10, I would!!!
- Sherry (10/5): Fantastic stay - It was clean safe and everything we needed was there We liked everything
- Alice (10/5): - Great location across from the local airport and very close to the little shopping and eating area of Talkeetna. The room had all amenities. Very clean. Nice and private. Easy communication with the owner. Highly recommend it.
- HARRY (9/5): Clean, convenient and comfortable! - Walking distance from everything in Talkeetna.

- Sheryl (10/5): Wonderful. - The owners, Mike & Tracy, have put many upscale touches in the cabins, from thick towels to warm comforters and beyond. Everything looked & felt new and clean. The cabins are in Talkeetna…a short walk to Main Street. Lots of shops & restaurants.
- Bill (10/5): - The cabin was organized and well decorated. Everything in the kitchen was easy to find because of the forethought of the owners. Parking was easy and plentiful. It was a short walk to the town center or the airport. The stay was comfortable and most pleasant for my wife and I. We did not use the second floor which offered additional beds which would be great for a couple with children. The owners were nice to deal with and quite friendly when we met in person. We would definitely stay again.
- Clare (9/5): - We just loved our stay. The cabins were comfortable, clean, and had everything you needed while visiting Talkeetna. Mike and Tracy were friendly and helpful hosts. The porches were lovely for coffee and reading and the firepit was a great way to meet fellow travellers. The 11pm & 5am freight train through town but that isn't something they could do anything about.
- Jeffrey (10/5): just loved being there - the location was fantastic nothing
- Ross (10/5): -
- Deborah (9/5): Excellent place to stay!!! - The cleanliness and the staff. Na
- Catherine (10/5): Loved our cabin and this town!! - Our cabin felt brand new, comfortably fit our family with its queen and 4 twin beds and was nicely appointed with both essentials and thoughtful extras. It offered both an AC and heating unit as well as 2 fans. Easy parking right outside door and a nice partly covered and furnished deck. Everything in town was easily walkable including shops, restaurants, food trucks (it’s a Very cute town!) plus the river park with views of Denali. Also K2 aviation across the road can take you on an epic adventure to Denali. Very good value as well. Did not see any place I would have rather stayed in the whole area. Look no further. Highly recommend! The only thing that could have made it better would be a washer/dryer on site (though their guide on counter in cabin did indicate a laundry available nearby).
- O'brien (10/5): Wonderful place for a short stay. - Location and atmosphere. Perfect affordable.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Picked us up and dropped us off at train depot. Charming clean cabin with excellent bed and comfy recliner chair. Good location, short walk to village.
- Elana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): - Perfect
- Sharon (10/5): Cozy cottage close to town - It was close to town. Mike was nice enough to pick us up and drop us off at the train station. Took us a quick tour of the town and gave us dinner/breakfast recommendations. The cabin was so cute and cozy. Super clean and comfy beds!!
- Scott (10/5): The perfect place for a family if you want to stay within walking distance of Talkeetna’s Main Street. - Clean, well-appointed, and well-located for all that Talkeetna has to offer. Nothing—it was great!
- Richard (10/5): - This property was absolutely wonderful!!!
Every detail was attended to with excellence-even down to the lovely flower displays at each location.
Decor was top notch!
Staff went our of their way to wait for us after a late arrival. Thanks
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Klaudia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katherine (10/5): - I highly recommend this property for a family. We stayed with our family of four in the Hunter cabin. It was recently renovated, very clean, and well maintained. The beds and pillows were newer too. It had four twin beds upstairs and a queen bed in the downstairs area. The cabin also had a fully stocked kitchen with a stove top, mini fridge, and microwave. (Note: There is a grocery store at the turn off of 3 to Talkeetna, but it is quite expensive. If you plan to cook, I’d buy most of the food in Anchorage and any forgotten items there.) The property is very peaceful. I sat on the porch each morning with a cup of coffee and enjoyed the cool weather and quiet. The property is about 2.5 hours from Anchorage, Denali, and Palmer making is a good jump off point for a lot of things to do in the area. The cabins are also a 5 minute walk to Main Street. The only negative is the train track across the highway. The train whistle sounded at 11pm and 4:30am daily. It’s not a knock on the property because you probably hear it no matter where you stay in the area. I would definitely stay here again.
- Suspa (10/5): - Nice duplex cabin in Talkeetna. We stayed here for one night on our way to Denali national park. It’s a family owned property and they took care for a nice stay. The kitchenette was nice with basic stuff. They had four beds in the loft and a queen bed downstairs so really good for a big family. Will recommend this property.
- Dawn (10/5): - Cute little cabins. They were nicely decorated. The bed was too soft but I like very firm beds. It would have been nice to have black out curtains since it is light all night.
- Dorthea (9/5): Great location to view Denali mtn. - Location, fridge, comfy beds, friendly staff.
- Louise (10/5): Excellent stay - A lovely cabin with everything you would need. There was nothing
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Lm (9/5): Very good, nicely suprised. -
- Pradeep (10/5): - Cozy and comfortable cabins. Clean, modern and with good amenities. Staff is great and the pickup and drop off to train station was great
- Suzanne (10/5): - This cabin was very well maintained and in a great location near all of Talkeetna’s shops and restaurants as well as the train depot and the airport from which flightseeing planes depart. Without air conditioning, it was a little warm in the four twin-bed loft but they proactively provided a fan to help. There was also a bit of train and plane noise but we all still slept fin.
- Kristen (9/5): Very happy we stayed at Chinook Wind Cabins. - Location was great and in easy walking distance of the main town area in Talkeetna. The cabins were new looking and clean, with lovely amenities, and functional...more like little houses than typical cabins. The property owner was awesome. Close to the train tracks, where trains started passing through at 5am, but the whole town is close to the tracks, so that is no fault of Chinook Wind.
- Mark (10/5): - Provided train station pickup and a brief tour of the Town including their riverside park (view of Alaska Range and Denali was spectacular!), Talkeetna museum and historic restaurant areas all a short walk from the hotel. Family owned and operated with newer, clean individual cabins. Great location and great stay. Highly Recommend.
- Karin (8/5): Very good -
- Angie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (8/5): Nice cabin very close to downtown Talkeetna - Very friendly staff, good location, easy to heat main part of the cabin. The bathroom was quite cold and the upstairs bedroom Feld more like a dormitory.
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - Location, cleanliness, hospitality
- Eileen (10/5): - Mike and Tracy are amazing as always. We have stayed twice and will every time we can!
- Louise (10/5): Perfect place to stay!! - Stunning little cabin in a perfect location. All amenities provided, it’s been very well thought out. Very clean. Very comfortable. Absolutely perfect! Wish we could have stayed longer!
- Leanne (8/5): Very good - Close to main street and restaurants
- David (10/5): - Clean and ready to go. Convenient to town.
- Peter (10/5): Great cabin - Great overnight stay on my way up to Fairbanks.
- Zachary (10/5): - Awesome spot, easy walking location and very helpful/friendly staff
- Sandra (10/5): - The cabins were excellent. Homely, high spec, detached with parking out front. Mike the Owner would have picked us up from the train station if we’d asked and dropped us there once leaving, although it was only a 9 minute walk.
The cabin had heating, a ceiling fan, two large double beds, a kitchenette and great shower in the bathroom. There was a rocking chair plus table & 2 chairs in the room too. Nice fluffy towels and shampoo/conditioner. If we ever decided to go to Talkeetna again, we’d definitely stay there again.
- Eugenia (10/5): - Owners very helpful and responsive, great cabin with everything we needed. Close to everything.
- Kevin (10/5): - Love these cabins. Would stay again
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dianne (10/5): - It was great! Cabins cute, comfortable and clean! Loved it.
- Julie (10/5): - Very clean, real cups and plate's !
Bed is firm if you like that.
We had the best cabin at the location
Would highly recommend !
- JP (10/5): - Cozy, spacious, clean and well appointed cabins. Easy close walk to Main Street and Alaska Railroad. The Innkeeper was friendly and attentive. We’ll be back!!
- Faye (2/5): Terrible management. Unresponsive to an emergency - This is a truly inadequate place with a horrible owner/ manager. One of the 2 cabins we rented was sprayed with a toxic poison that made it impossible to stay in . The manager was hostile and non- responsive to our request for assistance. A truly horrible experience. Please stay away from this place
- Greta (10/5): - These cabins are amazing and well equipped. Very clean. Perfect location to walk around town. I wished we could have stayed there longer.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic!!! - I wanted to stay forever! They were very welcoming and the cabin was fantastic! It was spacious, comfortable, well equipped, and everything was above average quality. Sadly, we were only here one night and it was rainy, so we didn’t use the outdoor patio/grill area or the nice little porch on the cabin. We loved the walkability of the little town too.
- Betty (10/5): - The cabin was spotless comfortable, well furnished, great decor.
I felt like the owners really cared about their guests. The amenities were appreciated.
It felt like the owners went beyond just the basic necessities. We were impressed. Thank you.
- Luisa (10/5): - Lovely wood cabins which were very comfortable. Very welcoming, friendly and knowledgable hosts.
- Dave (10/5): - We had an enjoyable one night stay. The cabins are very conveniently located within walking distance of the town and riverfront park. The cabin was very well appointed. Hope to get back for a longer stay next time!
- Mary (10/5): - Very clean, good quality furnishings, the proximity to town, no need to use the car and nice outdoor space
- Janae (10/5): - Our stay was great, beds comfortable, cabin was very clean and cozy. Close to town.
Mike picked us up at the train station and gave us a tour of the town. Very friendly place, he went above and beyond
- Albert (9/5): Very enjoyable - Neat. Functional. Strongly recommended
- Ivan (10/5): - The cabins were very clean. Family owned. The decor was tasteful and we loved all the organization of the kitchen. The atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable. The cabin host is friendly and communication was great. Thank you! Our highlight of our stay was this cabin in the last 12 days?
- Michael (10/5): - Caretaker of the grounds was on scene to meet all three families that arrived at different times. Cabin was spacious and clean. Town was a quick walk / drive away. Would recommend.
- Maria-Dolores (10/5): - Very nice stay. Good cabin, quiet. Super clean and soft towels and sheets
- David (10/5): - Wonderful accommodations, thoughtfully appointed, excellent service! Would stay here again when we return to the area!
- K. (10/5): - cabin had everything you could want in it!
- Ronald (10/5): - It was walkable to the rest of the town. Owners were very nice and gave a lot of great advice and were very helpful and super friendly.
- Kerry (10/5): - Wonderful accommodations!
- Lisa (10/5): - Absolutely awesome location. Clean, quiet, comfy. Was perfect for our trip! Owner even picked us up at the train, gave us a tour of town, pointing out the best places to visit, then gave us a ride back to the train when we left.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great town. Great location. Convenient. Clean. Would stay again.
- Marisa (10/5): A Cute Cabin in a Cozy Town - Our stay at Chinook Wind Cabins was wonderful. The cabin was very clean, well-built and provided everything our family of five needed. The area is quiet and peaceful and we slept well. The proximity to restaurants and shops was wonderful. We loved being able to walk around town, eat at the great restaurants, and visit the cute shops without having to drive. If we have the opportunity, we will definitely return to the Chinook Wind Cabins!
- Angie (10/5): - This is the perfect property for a stay with kids, easy walking to downtown with options for dining, shopping and views of Denali within minutes! M
- Matthew (10/5): - Owner was super friendly from the moment we arrived. Apologized that he didn't know we were coming in on the train and said he would have picked us up. (It was an wasy 10 minute walk from the train station.)
Cabin was perfect for a family of 4 and could have slept more comfortably. We took him up on the ride offer when we left and he was again very friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend this place!!!
- Wendy (10/5): - The cabin worked out perfectly for our stay in Talkeetna. We could walk to the jet boat business which was wonderful. We could also easily walk to local restaurants. Talkeetna is lovely and we would highly recommended Chinook Wind Cabins.
- AMAR (10/5): - Excellent
- Kim (10/5): - These cabins are beautiful! Very clean and everything is updated. Like staying in a new place. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!!
- mary (10/5): - The Chinook cabins was a great place to stay. It was within walking distance to the town and very quite. The people were friendly and helpful. Very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here
- Michele (10/5): - The cabin was very clean and had a huge tv. We loved the location and could walk everywhere.
- paul (10/5): - Mike went the extra mile for us. After the train dropped us off in Talkeetna wasn’t sure how we would get to Chinook Cabins. Mike dropped everything and picked us up. At the end of our stay he even took us back to the station. Great place to stay and great customer service from Mike and his wife Tracey.
- Wendy (10/5): Awesome - Great cabin! Great location!
- Thomas (10/5): - This was a great stagging spot for our Denali climb. Close to the air strip and tow.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay in Talkeetna - We had only a one night stay in Talkeetna. Mike picked us up at the train depot, showed us around town, and because of the circumstances, allowed us a late check out which really made things easy for us. Great place to stay.
- Jennifer (10/5): - The wind cabin was our home away from home. 4 of us traveling together and we had a good amount of space, clean, excellent amenities and convenient to town. Communication was clear and efficient. Felt very prepared and welcomed for our time in Talkeetna. Essentially everything that we were looking for and it absolutely met or exceeded our expectations!!
- Robert (8/5): - The owner was nice enough to call me when I left an item behind and was attentive. TV was limited and confusing. One bed had no real side table.
