Guest Reviews
- Lorakate (9/5): - Cute, 2 rooms nice, enough space. A door or curtain between rooms would be nice.
Rooms dated (good & bad).
- Lilian (8/5): Great place to stay when visiting the Boyce-Thompson Arboretum! - Nice little hotel - the only hotel- in Superior that suited our needs for visiting the Boyce-Thompson Arboretum so we can visit before it got too hot. Sure, it probably could use a little updating, but it was clean and comfortable and priced reasonably. The water pressure in the shower was a bit low.
- Dunham (5/5): Like daylight in the room at 2 a.m. - No breakfast for me Lights in the courtyard were so bright they lit up the room all night long. It was like daylight inside.
Price online was more than double what a friend paid directly to the motel. Booking price went up every time I tried to book online. Total rip-off.

- Celeste (8/5): - This place suited my needs perfectly. Don't expect fancy. It is clean enough. There are no door knob hangers asking to be left alone. You will be left alone. Thank goodness. The staff was friendly but interaction is minimal, how I like it. There was a little construction going on but I'm not a late sleeper so whatever. It is right on the highway which is super convenient and traffic after dark is thin. Road noise is present but not a problem. I will go back.
- Neil (7/5): Overnight stay. - Handy to superior. Lots of parking. Really good coffee shop right next door.
Bed surprisingly comfortable. Shower wasnt cleaned from prior guest (old soap in the bottom of the shower tray)
No way to boil water, and no coffee/tea provided.
- James (5/5): -
- Leslie (1/5): -
- Richard (4/5): It was a great stay if only the shower would work correctly - The bed comfortable, good size refrigerator and microwave. The shower did not have hot water and the shower head was to raised up and could not adjust.
- Frost (10/5): - Its was nice and quiet very comfortable for my family
- Richard (10/5): -
- Zoe (6/5): - Positives: clean, allowed early check-in, comfortable bed, nice sized fridge/freezer, walking distance to restaurants, coffee shop next door
Negatives: overpriced, shower needs updating,
Overall impression: definitely a 2-star accommodation, okay for 1-2 nights if all you want is a place to sleep, I would stay again if they lowered the price.
- JoAnn (4/5): Don’t bother! - Definitely will not stay there again. Room was poor. AC and refrigerator didn’t work. Towels were old and ragged. Only hot water worked in the bathroom sink and shower. Missing tile pieces and cardboard covered the window. Mattress very old and linens very old. Couldn’t shower faucet was broken.
- James (8/5): - Room clean and quiet property
- James (8/5): - The host was very attentive.
- Christopher (10/5): - Nice and clean
- Katharine (8/5): -
- Silver (10/5): - The CMM is located roadside in a small, historic mining town at the entrance to a narrow canyon where the major road snakes its way up to Miami and Globe. CMM is small, the rooms are modest, and the outside is gravelled. Nonetheless, it is spick-and-span clean with fresh towels, immaculate sheets, a small side room with a table desk for laptop work, and a room air conditioner second to none. CMM is surprisingly quiet and well-known and popular with traveling workers in the region. I was very pleased with my stay.
- Gary (10/5): - I’ve stayed here many times and have never had a bad experience. The rooms are clean and the owner is very friendly and always helpful.
- Brenda (10/5): Love this place - This was an amazing hotel and right off of Highway 60. Very convenient.
- Connie (8/5): - Good.
- tenkv2025 (8/5): excellent value - I was in Superior for four nights for a project and needed a place to stay that would not break the bank.
Copper Mountain was perfect. If you are looking for a ritzy place this is not it. The rooms are older and not luxury by any means, but the A/C cooled the room quickly, the blinds kept the sun out enough that you could sleep in. The mid size fridge was perfect for storing all the food I needed and the freezer was big enough to keep the gallon bottles of water frozen for my cooler for the day. The bedding was super comfortable, the showers had nice pressure and were hot. There is a dollar store across the street and a nice coffee shop next door that opened at 6am. I felt safe at night and right at home. Highly recommended for a comfortable budget place to stay in this wonderful town.
- Christopher (1/5): Horrific - Nothing Everything. This place was so horrible that we decided to drive home 3.5 hours rather than stay there, despite having already paid for the nights stay in advance.
On arrival, the place looked sketchy and run down. But we're not usually too fussy, especially just for 1 night. There was no one there to check us in, just a sign on the door to call a number. After a few mins a lady appeared from the door. She couldn't speak English, but gestured towards the sign, and then went back inside. We called the number and a lady said she would be back in 5-10 mins. When she arrived back we were assigned a room around the back and given the key. There were a lot of people hanging around outside the rooms and the whole situation just felt a little sketchy. The room was dirty and run-down. The bathroom appeared particularly unclean and there was evidence of rodents and bugs on the floor. The 'curtains' were pieces of black cloth held together with a clip from the hardware store. The attached photos will attest.
We decided after a while that we didn't want to spend the night in these conditions. After checking other hotel/motel availability in the aera and coming up short, we took the decision to drive all the way home instead of sleeping here. We needed to be back in the area the following day for an event, so basically added 6 hours of driving to avoid staying here. I figured I would try to claim back the $112 via Booking.com. I received $37 credit to my account. So we're $75 down plus gas, Still, better than staying the night in this dump.
TLDR: Avoid at all costs.
- Brenda (10/5): Superior Arizona - This is a great choice for the Superior Arizona area. Room was quaint bed was great
- Kristin (10/5): - Totally a budget stay. The owner is obviously a hardworking person and I respect that! But the whole property seems sketchy.
- Miranda (1/5): Bad -
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We got to the motel and when we got the keys to check out the room - we left. The room was in awful condition. There were cigarette burns in the bedding, the room had an awful smell, items in the bathroom appeared to have not been cleaned in a long time. We were uncomfortable and unwilling to stay - so a friend offered and we stayed elsewhere.
- Kami (10/5): - Vintage place that is comfy and not fussy. Don't expect a super fancy place. Expect a motel that takes you right back to the 50's.The bed was comfortable and the staff was very nice.
I would definitely stay again, loved it!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): good for one night, close to where I needed to be - It worked with the location, simple but had what I needed, a bit outdated but slept well.
- Kent (6/5): A nice 2 star motel - This is a very nice 2 star hotel. It was clean and comfortable. The TV and WIFI worked perfectly, and the bed was fine for a 3 night stay. It is an older motel, so don't expect amenities. But if what you need is simply a place to stay while you are out and about, this is a great value.
- Gatis (10/5): - nice
- Priscilla (7/5): Good - The location. The event we were going to , was close by. The shower drained very slow. Other than that , it was nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stop off for AZT hikers - Great comfortable stay coming off the Arizona Trail! Hot showers, laundry, super friendly hosts. Bus stop across the street. Coffee next door. Everything you need....nothing you don't!
Short walk to the pubs/saloons in town and easy access from the Arnett Canyon trail.
- David (8/5): - Comfy bed, sheets and pillows!
- Miguel (10/5): - Excelente y confortable y una tranquilidad para descansar después de salir del trabajo
- Teri (10/5): Comfortable and welcoming! - A perfect location for visiting the area around Superior, Az. Room had good AC, new shower installation, and basic kitchen needs. The manager went out of their way to assure my comfort including transportation from a nearby trailhead!!! Would definitely return if in the area!
- Kimberly (10/5): Vacay in Superior - Sam was AMAZING!
- Jessica (10/5): Great weekend stay - Very cute and affordable place to stay, we were there to visit the Renaissance Faire for the weekend. The renovated shower was great, and the sheets & blankets were the softest of any hotel I've ever stayed in. Will definitely stay here again if we go back to the area.
- Lisa (8/5): - Sam was very nice and kept the rooms clean.
- James (4/5): - The property was old and decrepit.
Parking difficult.
Bathroom facilities poor.
Bed was good.
Internet was good.
- William (10/5): - It is what it is. Had no problems at all but dont expect the Waldorf in Superior. : ))) Didnt charge me a resort and parking fees either!
- Cheryl (3/5): Remodel - Better bed
- Leslie (4/5): Would not recommend. - Property is run down. Old and needs to be updated. Rundown. Shower was either cold or scalding. Can’t believe it passes codes.
- Saul (10/5): - Quaint, clean, comfy beds, friendly staff.
- Susan (9/5): Perhaps not to everyone's liking, but just right for us - It is simple, no frills
- Anita (4/5): - My truck broke down and I didn't stay at the motel I asked for a refund but I haven't heard from them
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place for a quick overnight stay. - Price was reasonable and the shower was newly remodeled. I loved the new showerhead. Room was clean, nice refrigerator and big screen tv.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Highly, do NOT Recommend this hotel! - This motel needs a total rehab! Photos on hotels com of this hotel are deceiving. Not very clean, Room door missing trim& nothing for a door threshold, moldly. bottom of door likely previously wet/damaged... room smelled moldly. Can NOT recommend!
- Lisa (2/5): Overpriced dump - I liked having a place to spend the night within a 20 minute drive of where I was going There were 2 dark hairs in the shower I am.a natural blonde. The A/C was noisy and didn't work even in November I wouldn't want to find that out when it was 100 plus outside! The window " curtains" were just a piece of fabric.Sign outside saying "office" but the door was locked and there was no sign at or near the door. This was around 5 p.m.,not exactly the middle of the night
Way overpriced for a dump
- Shear (2/5): Cold and short - Location No hot water pretty nasty no coffee
- JANINE (10/5): - It’s a convenient place to stay…they are renovating.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hope all renovations turn out well. - Copper Mountain motel is under construction, but there were rooms available to stay overnight.
- Verlene (4/5): - Very old, very small rooms and bathrooms. Needs a lot of repairs. Priced way too high for what it is. Would not stay if there was anything else closer to town.
- ANTHONY (10/5): - This is a basic motel, and plenty nice enough for anyone wanting to stay in Superior and not spend over $200 a night for some of the other local options.
Room and bed was clean. Staff was very nice and personable.
Highly recommend for a no frills affordable option!
- WILLIAM (2/5): - Property looked in disrepair. Room was badly laid out and looked old and dated. Floor was missing tiles and had 3 different window shades. Felt really uncomfortable to spend a night there. The one good thing was the manager refunded our second night charge. Thank you!
- Keith (2/5): - We didn't take a shower because it was gross with hair and pubes. Couldn't use our tablet the wifi wasn't strong, had to wait 30 minutes to use the small tv.Our luggage now smells like lysol of some sort, my husband woke with a headache from the strong lysol smell I struggled to breathe all night from the lysol smell. Never again. We looked under the bed and again soooo gross. Sad experience
- Marie (8/5): Very good -
- Freeman (8/5): Great room, great location, great value - Great location, very quiet and cozy we loved it. Room was hot when we got there but didn't take long to cool off
- Martina (6/5): Surprisingly OK. We had a great sleep. - Room was compact and clean, nice towels, staff came to make sure we had enough towels. We had an excellent sleep. Shower was a bit pernickety with low pressure. Pillows were very thin.
- Luke (8/5): - Nice, comfortable room. Convenient location. Will stay there again.
- Michelle (8/5): Somewhere to sit - It's definitely an older motel but was clean and well kept. It was perfect for the one night we needed it and had amenities around. The owner was very nice, accommodating and kept the line of communication open as we were expected to arrive late. A few recommendations would be to get some type of shelf in the bathroom as it's hard to get ready with nowhere to put your curling iron or makeup. Or maybe put a big mirror in the sleeping area. A chair is also needed, there's nowhere to sit. Otherwise all was good and we'd stay again if needed.
- Rick (4/5): - The place was very run down, while we were there for only a couple hours we were informed that a fire had started next to our home and we needed to return home. I turned the key in and explained the situation, no offer at all of giving our money back even under the conditions we were facing.
- Ryham (8/5): Very good -
- Frances (4/5): - Front desk was dirty; was told to wait 10 mins outside so a English speaking person finished her shower. Motel had to access from main road, air conditioner too loud, shower too dirty to use.
- Tim (7/5): Great value. Staff was friendly. - Very close to the Arizona Trail and other hiking opportunities.
- Rodney (8/5): - The folks there are great but the restaurants in the area are very limited. No breakfast and the evening BBQ smokehouse was closed. No meal that night nor in the am.
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Edward (8/5): - Convenient access to Highway 60, larger refrigerator and microwave in room.
- Lauren (10/5): - The Copper Mountain Motel is a great low-cost option for anyone visiting Superior to hike, visit the Arboretum, or explore Superior's historic downtown. The motel is not on Main St, but its location right off the 60 is convenient for travelers, and it is only a quick drive/walk to get to the historic town center. The owner is kind and accommodating. My room was large and clean and my stay was quiet and uneventful.
- Alan J. (6/5): - Pros: close to Boyse Thompson Arboretum
Cons: small rooms, few amenities, limited dining in the area, parking is tight
- Jennifer (5/5): Disappointed- Dingy and tired. Old charm over shone by grime - The location is great and there is parking. The lady checking us in was really nice. We also liked the full size fridge in the room. Pretty run down and dingy. No coffee making facilities in the room. Only one full size towel for 2. Shower was dark and tired- dirty in the bottom. There was a seat in the room that was very stained. The main window was secured with a metal clip. Two very deflated pillows. Only one table light in the room and overhead had been torn out so room was very dark.
We stayed here two years ago and while it’s an older motel it was clean and charming. I don’t know what’s changed but we won’t stay again unless it’s cleaned and some updates are made.
The lady who checked us in was very nice.
- David (1/5): Bad -
- Kathryn (10/5): Arizona Trail Stop - This was a great place to stop while hiking the Arizona Trail. I really appreciated being able to do laundry. There were no coffee/tea making supplies in the room.
- Maria (5/5): Passable -
- Jacqueline (2/5): - I don’t even know where to start. It was bad. Like really bad. The door to the room was not secure, there was no deadbolt, it was literally an interior door! There was one lamp on bedside table. No other lighting worked. The bathroom was filthy… pubic hair, around the commode it was all dirty and dusty, there was grimy soap scum and mold in shower. The wall heater had several layers of duct and electrical tape. A pedestal floor fan was the cooling. I took pictures because it was so shocking. We would have left, if it wasn’t so late and we weren’t so exhausted. The lady was friendly but c’mon actually had the cajones to ask how everything was as I checked out? I was gobsmacked. They should be ashamed charging over 100 dollars but there is only one other hotel in the area and it’s two and half times the price of this one ( and btw it’s beautiful) My advice is to go there or with an Airbnb, the town is really a great place to visit. Friendly people, delicious food and neat shops.
- Dennis (7/5): Good -
- Marie (10/5): An excellent little motel in an exceptionally beautiful location, with helpful and friendly staff. -
- Fred (9/5): Exactly what we needed for this trip. I'd come here again. - Enough outlets. Temperature regulation. Dead bolt. Quiet. Old-style key.
- Alex (10/5): - Property had little parking. The room was not as advertised. But yet I did have a good stay.
- Kathy (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful area. I hope to return.
Very comfortable bed!
- Laurie (6/5): - Staff very nice. Accommodations are older and have seen better days.
- aaron (8/5): - Perfect for what I was looking for, a room to stay in while exploring the area.
- Leonard (10/5): Great little motel. Rooms are clean and staff was very pleasant. -
- Zach (8/5): - Solid nothing special everything was clean. There was a stain in the shower
- Bridget (10/5): - Great value for location!
- Elizabeth (7/5): Good -
- Ora (6/5): - It was not the best of stays. The owner was lovely, but the room was dark, light in the room didn’t work. We spent very little time in the room, but it did not feel safe. Only bottom lock on door worked, deadbolt was just for show. No real bath towels, and the best of the worst was the bed. 2 flimsy old pillows and the crunchiest most used up mattress I have ever slept on. Would not recommend if you have certain ideas of what a $100 a night hotel should look and be like, but if you just want sleep and go , it might work for you, but not for $100 a night. If you are alone, a single person, no, do not stay here, it is not a very safe area. I will never be caught there alone. It just wasn’t worth the $ although the little town itself is so quaint.
- Joseph (2/5): Not very nice - No chairs to sit in the room no chairs acks to put your luggage no hangers. Pillows were so hard. No coffee pot, tiny microwave couldnt even microwave my coffee. No Tv the dish wasnt working.
- Warren (8/5): - Older property, bed is on its ebb.
Hostess was gracious and smiling.
- Lisa (4/5): Not worth the coat - The room was extremely small, the comforters felt dirty. My husband was unable to get the WiFi password. Too many things to complain about. The cost was extreme considering the smallest room ever. Not to mention that one bed was horribly uncomfortable! Not coming back
- Matthew (5/5): It is a No tell motel. Dont expect much and you wont be disappointed. - Location, parking the door had huge gaps around the rotted frame so the heat and rain came through and the room was hard to keep cool in 100+ degree temps. The front desk never provided WIFI password and closed right after I checked in. The soap/shampoo offering was not worth using.
- Karen (4/5): - We stayed here a few years ago and the owner was friendly and helpful. The place was shabby but quaint. We were extremely tired when we arrive. It was a place to sleep but no amenities. No coffee. Nothing open nearby. We had to leave early in the morning. The price was low, but if I had known the condition, I would have looked elsewhere.
- Tobias (6/5): Always love to come home to Superior - Nicely located at the US60 in lovely Superior. The A/C could have a bit more power to fight the 100+ degrees outside :-)
- Cherie (1/5): It was horrible I do not recommend this place to anybody there's no customer service whatsoever at t - Nothing it was miserable My husband and I traveled there in separate vehicles due to his work we arrived 3 or 4 hours before check-in time so we parked his truck off to the side I went in the office met the lady told her I had a reservation but that we were going to go explore the area and would come back out check-in time. We got back at check-in time she gave this the key I went in the room it was scalding hot in there she didn't even bother to turn the air condition on it was 108° outside this is a brick wall building so all the heat was radiating in. Then she tells me there's only one set of towels in the bathroom if you want more towels you have to come get them from me there's two adults why would she give me one towel she should put two towels in the bathroom this place has no consideration whatsoever for their customers. To me on a very hot summer day 100° or more when you walk into a hotel room it should have a comfortable cool feel to it doesn't have to be freezing cold but it could at least be 78°, but this place didn't even bother to turn their conditioner on. I never would recommend this I'll never go there again. We did not stay the night we left we went and found a different Hotel.
- Marlon (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice quick place to stay. - I have not been to this motel in over 2 years due to previous management, but now the motel is looking better with renovations. The room I stayed in was clean and roomy. I would stay here again in the future.
- Brian (7/5): would stay again - good location, nice staff, allowed early check in no ice, ceiling fan was unsafe could not use
