Guest Reviews
- Christina (8/5): - For the amount of money, it exceeded my expectations. The manager was very friendly and provided a fan to us in the middle of the night. My only disappointment is the parking and there is no lighted sign, not easy to spot when your coming back at night
- John (8/5): - Close to speedway and restaurants
- Mariann (2/5): - No hot water, when the front desk was told they tried to make excuses than had to check the water themselves and when they did and it was ice cold they just made more excuses saying they had been doing laundry
- Mark (6/5): - For a crash pad for Daytona 500, it’s perfect. That’s really about it
- Verified traveler (4/5): You can't be a princess to stay here - The hotel was old, however, no bugs were visible. We brought our own sheets, pillows and blankets. There was no hot water, no extra toilet tissue and old towels. The sheets were stained. The neighborhood seemed ghetto.
- Joel (8/5): - Staff was very friendly and helpful. Property is dated but clean and comfortable
- Verified traveler (2/5): Expectations were low and we were still disappoint - For a motel we were not expecting much besides a comfortable room and place to stay for the night. Instead we got a room that:
-We paid for a non smoking room and it was absolutely a smoking room.
-The Smoke Detector was WRAPPED IN A BAG! (See pictures)
-Had an AC unit that was off and thus the room was inhabitable. Furthermore, the unit was was struggling to even cool the small corner it was in.
-Blankets we’re filthy and had cigarette holes/burn marks.
-Bed is a 6” mattress on a metal frame. The moment we sat on the bed you could immediately feel the metal rails below.
-Bathroom was in questionable condition at best.
The above are few major bullet points I wanted to point out to anyone looking to stay here. Good luck dealing with the owners as well if you have any issues. Needless to say, we absolutely did not stay.
- Robert (6/5): Daytona Bike week-March-2021 - Visited Daytona Beach for the week-end for Bike Week-2021. Since I started looking for hotels only a week before the event, the only available hotels were asking $300-$500 a night, which was out of my price range. The only cheaper hotel was this Tropizar Motel at $129 a night. So i decided to book it knowing it was only a 2 star motel. Since I was not expecting much, I was not really disappointed. The room was clean and had the basic requirements for 1 night. All I needed was a bed and a shower.
The pros and cons:
Pros: Very affordable. Very close to Daytona Beach events and Speedway. Free parking. Clean. Decent shower.
Cons: Room was VERY outdated. Old furniture. Terrible wifi.
- Russell (8/5): Speedweeks hidden gem! - Older hotel with husband and wife running! Very courteous and helpful ! Can't stay anywhere close for speedweeks for the price! Stayed at more expensive hotels during Daytona 500 weekend, but would consider staying with these people again!
- William (6/5): Race Weekend - Good location to the race track. Nice place for a single night stay.
- CHRISTIAN (8/5): Bike week - Personne à l'accueil très aimable , souriante et prête à rendre service.
Chambre un peu bruyante car pas très loin de la route, mais c'était la bike week.
- Marc (8/5): - Decent place to stay overnight, will consider it in the future.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - They accommodated us as our plans changed last minute. However the rooms were musty smelling and kind of falling apart.
- Kristin (8/5): Definitely would return - The room is small but very clean. It is a perfect place for somebody who is traveling solo or for people who will not be in the hotel for long periods of time. The staff were friendly as well.
- neville (8/5): - people always friendly and nice!
- DISHNER (2/5): - They need to get a new in room 5. It seemed fine until I feel asleep. My body was in such pain that I couldn't move the next day. My skin even hurt for the intensity of it. Worst stay ANYWHERE.
DISHNER
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient to where we was going .
Would stay again .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pleasant staff . Every thing we needed. Close enough to Daytona International Speedway.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The condition of the motel was very poor not in a good neighborhood air conditioning did not work to my satisfaction at all it was off when they were we arrived did not cool off the room into over 12 hours later for the $120 I spent this motels should have been about $45 maybe just for a place for a trucker to drop his head at night but I would still feel sorry for him do not I repeat do not try and use this Motel
- Mark (2/5): My opinion it’s not a great hotel very dirty and - The hotel was nasty smell like cigarettes would never stay there again was afraid to sleep on the bed was very nasty
- Brandon (8/5): - Shower had no water pressure.
- Robbin (8/5): Bikers weekend - The room was what I expected for the price they charged, it was clean, convenient location. The bed was a little hard and the pillows we're flat but they were clean. The microwave didn't work, it came on and ran but your food was just as cold as it was when you put it in there. For someone who spends very little time in the actual room ( sleep, shower & dress to go out) it was fine. The Owners/Staff were very friendly and the room was clean & cozy.
- Allen (8/5): - The room was clean came with microwave and mini refrigerator. TV was ok. Bathroom was clean and well stocked. Housekeeping came by to check my needs. All I was looking for in that price range
- Kris (8/5): Bike week stay - The accommodations were acceptable for the age of the establishment. There was only one electrical outlet to share with the TV and our gear, good thing we had an extension cord with us. Overall it was a good place to crash for the night.
- Willy (2/5): Please Don't stay in this Motel, the Worst place!! - The worst and dirtiest place I've stayed in. Room extremely dirty, no heating and the temperature was in Daytona in the 40's, couldnt sleep due to the cold. Asked the owner that lives in the motel also if they provided portable heaters, and they said No. The train passes in the middle of the night, but thats not the owners fault just letting it known. Please dont stay here, this place should be reported to the health officials of Daytona. SUPER DIRTY!!!
- Billy (8/5): Bike week - For a very small motel, it was not bad. The owners were very nice. Not enough parking though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): My motel room was very clean and comfortable. - I would highly recommend this motel. The staff was nice and polite.
- Michael (8/5): Closee to the race track. - Old hotel, but ownwrs are accomodating managers.
Made sure stay was a good experience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): No crack pipes here - It’s a room , bed was comply , place was clean , close to everything 👍
- Chad (6/5): No rest for the weary! - The room itself was okay but would not stay there again. This was in the ghetto and very scary at night!
- David. (6/5): - had a very quiet room, considering all the activity on the street, bike week
- Sondra (10/5): Convenient for nascar - Good value
- Gilles (2/5): Minimum de service - C'est un endroit on l'on va en dernier recours ce qui était notre cas car en voyage nous avons séjourné dans des Best Western moins dispendieux et avec beaucoup de confort et avec un petit déjeuner.
- Bernard (2/5): Located in a nice area and closer to Daytona beach - The experience was not as expected. Bathroom facilities horrible water was leaking from the fridge and there were holes in the comforter on the bed. Will not sleep in the motel ever again
- Bear (2/5): THIS HOTEL SHOULD NOT EVEN BE LISTED - IT BAAAD!!! - Room was fairly clean except for dead bug behind sink and a lizard. Room smelled really bad. Not sure but I suspect bed bugs. No extra outlets in room.
Finally, about 10 PM I heard a train horn. Then I heard it 2 other times within a half hour.
That did it!
I packed up all my gear, gave the key to Cindy, the owner, who seemed nice and told her I could not sleep there with the train horns and all.
I left at 11PM and remembered what other people said: "You get what you pay for!"
Oh God, What a dump!!!!!
There wasn't even a sign out front - guess it got blown down during a storm.
This place didn't even resemble a motel. It reminded me of a "mission house for the homeless."
IT was THE WORST!!!!!
- Michael (8/5): - TV only got one channel but the price was great
- l (10/5): - the owner Cindy is great !!! Excellent customer service. Location is great
- Carla (2/5): Worst Experience. - Dirty, old Motel. No cleaning was done. I asked for it and all we got was the same linens placed back. No fresh linens nor towels. No complimentary bathroom items. When asked, I was given tiny packets of specified items only. Not even Coffee in A.M. No disabled Access, not even a Ramp to the Walkway. They also own another motel across the Street. They do not understand English.
- Lianna (4/5): Will be getting "I survived the Tropizar Motel" T- - The owner was nice enough. Other than that the neighborhood isn't great. My friend who stayed with me for one night was solicited by a car full of drug dealers if she wanted to smoke and buy some weed.
The room was not very comfortable and the sink was clogged badly.
There wasn't any heat to warm it up on the cold mornings/ nights so I froze.
The room is a bare bones room.
The door to get in was jammed badly and you had to be careful not to scrape up your knuckles when closing it from the inside because the frame was almost flush against the door knob on the right side.
- Mat (2/5): - Room smelled pretty bad, the refrigerator and oven were dirty, and there was a cockroach in the bed. Overall I think this hotel is pretty disgusting and it needs tons of repairs.
- Janine (2/5): DON'T press the "book now" button!!! - What a dump! We booked two rooms. One had no natural light at all, but had a fairly new bathroom. The other had natural light but the dirtiest bathroom I have ever seen. Soap was provided in one bathroom, no other toiletries. The towels were hand size only and so thin you could see through them. If we had only paid $30 per room I would have expected such awful facilities but having paid $111 per room feel thoroughly ripped off. Would not even recommend this place as a kennel!
- Tom (6/5): Tropizar - good price, clean, need bath vanity - Bathroom had no hooks to hang clothes. Bathroom sink very small-No place to put shaving cream, toothpaste, deodorant etc. Suggest the put in small vanities in all rooms. Shower EXTREMELY small. Maybe 3' x 3' Hot water took about 3 minutes to get hot.
Room was very clean
- LaShara (2/5): Not what I expected - Bathroom was very small, about the size of a dressing room, and the window did not have a curtain so you could see right in, and the bathroom door did not close, the shower curtain had mold. Also, there were Roaches in the bathroom and refrigerator. And the bed was very uncomfortable like we were sleeping on the floor.
