Guest Reviews
- MICAH (10/5): - Very easy no frills accommodations
- Vincent (8/5): - Cheap good stay
- Mok In (10/5): - The rooms
- Tarang (10/5): - Thank you for having me.
- Cici (8/5): - Nice place to stay and good for big family to have one unit.
- William (8/5): - For the cost, this is an excellent option for staying in Halifax. It was clean, secure, and inexpensive. Bathrooms are shared, though the room did have its own sink. No frills, and very basic. Room was a little warm, but a fan was provided. About a ten minute drive from downtown. Would absolutely recommend.
- David (10/5): - Mattress could be better
- Kerrie (10/5): - Was great for a place to sleep. Close to downtown and great price
- Lavina (6/5): - M
- susan (8/5): - Really clean! We stayed at this property in August and the price was right. The check in was easy and the room was very basic but very clean. There was no air conditioning but the fans kept things nice and cool. The gym was awesome, within walking distance, and free. It was a 5 minute walk to the school dining with had a great breakfast.
- Nadine (6/5): - The price & layout of the apartment was good & the location/parking convenient. There are some low cost upgrades that would make it better for tourists. The faucet we used needs new washer to stop leaking, wasting water. Dish supplies were good but a couple dish towels would be helpful for cleanup. Printed directions for the TV would help. It's great as a college dorm, but could be made nicer for tourists.
- Cody (8/5): - The rooms are larger than expected based on my past experience at Risley (Dal)
- Helenita (10/5): - Location is great. Parking is easy. The environment is safe and quiet. The unit is very comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- Jules (8/5): A very good place to stay. - We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. We had a 4 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms. It was very spacious . For us the only flaw was that we found the mattresses to be uncomfortable. We knew ,in advance, that there was no air conditioning,so we brought two fans. We were pleased to see that they also provided fans.
- YING (8/5): - Staff were really helpful and nice. Lots of space in the apartment.
- JAINAM (10/5): - The stay is very friendly and the staff is respectful and also takes into consideration any special requests
- Duane (10/5): - Easy access.....lovely view with pond!
- Brenda (10/5): - I always bring an extra pillow for added coziness.
- LESA (10/5): - RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. We live 3 hours from the airport and got in late, and this was our only option without spending $400 + for some sleep. Gross - Mold, dirty and not even a mattress protector on the beds. I put it as 5-star so it goes to top and someone might read it. My husband slept in the car - this should speak volumes. Dirty, counters not even wiped - black mold in the fans. I feel so bad for the students going to live here. I slept on top of the bed and barely slept.
- Tetiana (8/5): - Quiet, peaceful place, everything you need is available.
- Chantale (10/5): - We loved having a room each for a couple nights as we travel from Toronto to East coast. This was an easy place for the 5 of us . Free laundry was a bonus and we appreciated the facilities abailable and full kitchen. They provided some basic dishes. Towels and soap are available as well. Everything was basic , but worked well for our needs.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Great place to stay when you just need somewhere to rest for a night
- Brenda (10/5): - Just like home, excellent staff, service, impeccably clean, excellent security, quiet, kitchenette down the hall with microwave, kettle to boil water for coffee(bring your own instant coffee). I bring my own cozy extra pillows and then its just like home! Wish they were open for non students to stay year round, but greatful i can stag there and a very fair and greatly appreciated rate. Wonderful to be able to visit the City and stay over! Thank you so much!
- Mike (10/5): - I was glad to have stayed there as their rates are much better than other hotels.
- Allison (10/5): - The kitchen could be a bit better equipment for cooking for families but other then that it was a great inexpensive option for accommodations.
- Zhonghong (10/5): - This is absolutely a very good place with nice price. We were enjoying living there.
- Wenming (10/5): - Worth for the price
- Souhail (10/5): - S
- Mohammad (6/5): - Altoigh the common area and kicgenvwere super messy and smelly, the staff are polite.
The campus is stuning and beautiful
- amanda (4/5): - Room was very dirty. Stained bed sheets
- Victoria (10/5): Very friendly staff! - It was exactly as expected. Staff were all helpful and courteous and polite. They made sure I had all of the info I needed to access wifi and enjoy my stay.
- Charles (10/5): - Great value. My family of four had plenty of space. Much better than a cramped hotel room and much less expensive. Everything was clean. would definitely stay again when in Halifax.
- Sheng (8/5): - Quiet, safe, a little bit far from downtown if u don’t have a car. It takes around 40 minutes to take a bus to downtown.
- Reshma (8/5): - Cleanliness and property condition was an average. But the accommodation in general was really great and comfortable
- Glenn (10/5): - Clean. Convenient. Basic.
- Richard (10/5): - Very clean and good price
- Sarah (10/5): - Great place to stay with family. Full size kitchen and living area. Very convenient and affordable for travel on a budget.
- Pratibha (10/5): - Nice and spacious
- Amber (8/5): - Great price. Note that they only take bookings through Expedia, so you still have to pay in person. Great for our group of 4. Mirrors are inside the doors of the cabinet and no a/c but was fine with the fan and windows open. No breakfast or tea towels.
- Jason (10/5): - No frills .Clean and all the basic amenities that you need .
- Yijiang (6/5): - This is a student dorm, so we were expecting it to be in a state that student dorms usually are. We didn’t mind the old furniture or non-glamorous conditions because that’s what we paid for. But the tables were sticky…the kind of sticky that is hard to wipe off. Tissue paper would stick to the table and have to be peeled off. Also the fan in the suite was very loud. The bedding was only a sheet and two thin blankets. One blanket was very scratchy. The towels were average. Decent travel toiletries were provided. You get a whole suite to yourself. Each room has its own bedroom, nightstand, desk, closet and chair and has its own key. There is a shared full kitchen, living room, and there were 2 bathrooms in our suite. Parking was right out front. Overall, an acceptable place to stay if you’re on a budget. If it had been cleaner, we would have had no complaints.
- David T (8/5): Good self-catering place near Halifax - Good location. Good place to stay for those who want to do self-catering. Fully equipped with kitchen, dining area and 2 bathrooms. Relatively inexpensive accommodation. Signs of student abuse/neglect but a good stay overall.
- Colin (6/5): - good location and value.
- Fang (8/5): - good price, suitable for family travel
- Bernardo (8/5): - Cheap but clean and quiet
- Bernardo (8/5): - Clean and quiet, easy access after hours
- shahram (8/5): It was okay - It was okay for the price. Not a fancy place, but clean and safe.
- f (4/5): - Neither good nor bad average
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great value for short stay - Dorm room living perfect for cheap short stay. Room had its own sink which was helpful. Bed was small but mostly comfortable. Extremely clean and very quiet. Only issue is a long walk up the hill if taking public transport.
- Heather (8/5): - Many of the dishes had barely been washed and the furniture in the sitting area was disgusting/filthy.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Good affordable place to get a good night’s sleep. No frills. With a car, it is very easy to get around. Public transit is doable. Lovely campus - trees and trails and a pond.
- Samantha (10/5): - Clean and quiet. Did the trick for a one night stay.
- Lorraine (8/5): - Good large space with kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Stayed at the 4 bedroom apartment.
- David (10/5): - Quiet and inexpensive
- Linda (8/5): - It is a very basic place to stay at a very reasonable price. Check in was easy and there is easy parking.
- Samantha (4/5): - Very minimal
- Chad (4/5): - Stained towels, hot room no control over heat,
- Hammam (10/5): - The hostel was exceptionally clean and very affordable — an excellent choice for budget travelers.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Week day was fine
- Robyn (6/5): - It is a fine budget stay. No frills, clean, shared bathroom, friendly and helpful staff, easy access to transit, the mattress and pillows leave much to be desired but it’s a dorm. It was perfect for travelling on a shoestring, but would recommend bringing your own pillow.
- Parvinderjit (10/5): - Great stay.
- Louise (6/5): - Price was very reasonable. Apartment was perfect for 4 people but would have liked air conditioning as it was quite warm. It was very comfortable which I would recommend.
- Thomas (6/5): - *
- Kateryna (6/5): - Staying for several nights is OK, but only for non-demanding visitors. It is more convenient for students:)
- Minxia (8/5): - Worth my money
- Jerel (8/5): - Good value for money spent.
- Morgan (10/5): - Staff was very kind! They also informed me there was a fitness center I could access as a guest. I would be happy to stay here again!
- Derek (10/5): - Excellent budget accommodation.
- Stephen (4/5): - The price is right but you certainly get what you pay for. We booked the 4 bedroom apartment. Location was great and the campus is quite beautiful. However, rooms were not clean, surfaces were sticky. Furniture was stained. Rooms were really hot (no ac). If you are looking for a hostel, this is great. If it’s a hotel you are looking for, pay the extra money and don’t stay here.
- Alan (10/5): Thanks - Clean and great value
- Scott (2/5): Wouldn't recommend this place - Okay first of all, a Construction Company was blasting rock less than 200 yards from my window along with the heavy rock moving equipment going steady? The bed look the same as the ones used at the Paris Olympics? The pillow was flat as a Marshmallow, I did request another one , Gendelman did bring me one. Check myself out before 6:00am the following morning. Now let's talk about your scam , on your website I noticed the price was $56.07 total? Absolutely no mention that it is US funds until I checked-in ? Mount St Vincent University is in Nova Scotia Canada not the United States of America? So would you price in US Currency? To whom do I contact for a refund?
- YANG (10/5): - It’s very spacious and convenient, very cost effective.
- Brenda (8/5): - Beds a bit narrow
- Jessica (8/5): Bring a fan. - This was my first time in a Uni room, and while it was
- ?? (10/5): - The room was clean and tidy, the front desk staff was very nice.
- Brenda (8/5): - Would stay here again
- Roser (8/5): - Up a hill 12 min walk insane.
- Lynn (10/5): - Nice stay
- Ahmed (10/5): - Great area
- Yan (8/5): - Tucked away at the end of street with grassland in front, very quiet (saw a deer family there), but also means a few minutes drive to any other facilities. An apartment with 4 single-bed bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen with basic cooking kit, simple, clean and spacious. Laundry on each floor and can purchase detergent in case you forget. Both are very reasonably priced. No housekeeping, but reception is there till 10pm and helpful.
- Rohit (10/5): - Very clean and very good amenities.
- Gary (8/5): - Staff were quite nice but the linen in my room was stained and the fitted sheet... well, it didn't fit. No problem when I requested a new sheet. There is a fridge, microwave, toaster, and kettle in the shared kitchen so that was good. A car really helps if you stay here although there is a bus stop down the hill. For the price, it is worth it.
- Wei (10/5): - We got 4 bedrooms for our family (3) so everyone of us had a good sleep. The rooms are clean and there is also a kitchen available. The campus was quiet as it was in summer break of the school.
- Mark (6/5): - Super straightforward, excellent service, easy parking, away from the downtown area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): MSVU Hostel - Very economical accomodation. Basic. Spartan. But clean and quiet.
- Joseph (10/5): - Spacious, very clean and have 2 full bathroom is a great bonus for a family of 5. Highly recommended 👍👍👍
- John (10/5): - A lovely spot close to downtown but in a quiet setting. A great value for the money!
- John (10/5): - Just fine. Worth the money for fathers and sons.
- Livingstone (10/5): - Great spot!
- Ian (8/5): - Filthy bathrooms
- Carrie (10/5): - It was so easy staying here. I would stay again if in Halifax
- Robert (8/5): - Could have used a real pillow and towels were a little thin..but overal good value.
- Derek (10/5): - Hard to find listed on Bedford Hwy main road but located on Seton Road.I began at rear wentrance main entrance is on third floor. Called security who redirected me to Phillip fromt desk agent who was very polite and helpful. ROOM IS TOO HOT even with open window. 2 washrooms for whole floor.
- William Park Chiang (4/5): - The place was dirty with soiled towers or marking on the towers indicating them as not ckean..
- RASHMI (6/5): - Bedsheets were not clean.
- Michelle (8/5): - The apartment style was perfect for me and my kids. Unfortunately the beds are a bit rough to sleep on.
- Robert (10/5): - Clean and quiet. Have laundry, fridge, ironing board, microwave and toaster
- Renn (6/5): - skimpy pillow, uncomfortable bed led to poor night’s sleep .Maybe ok for a student ,young person but not for an older adult
Otherwise very pleasant
- Feng (10/5): - Everything is good except for finding the building entrance
