Guest Reviews
- McMullan (8/5): Would stay again - Everything .
An experience of traditional accommodation and morning meal . They offer western style breakfast but the Japanese breakfast was healthy and tasty . Even if you are not rat a lot of fish .
I Enjoyed the osan but if you are not used to public baths ensure to book a room with your own bathroom. The challenge is finding a place to eat . Especially later in the evening .
The staff assisted me on the second nightand I planned to have dinner before 6.30pm.
I do not know if this is a location challenge or everything shuts early being a smaller city .

- Mlada (10/5): Chuť dávné Kanazawy - Tradiční rjokan pár kroků od hradu a parku Kenroku, blízko řeky a dvou starobylých obchodních čtvrtí. Rjokan nabízí dobrou kvalitu za dostupnou cenu. Servíruje snídaně podle místní tradice. Majitel i personál projevují ukázkovou zdvořilost. Hostů si zde váží. Není co kritizovat. Vracím se v Kanazavě ráda do tohoto rjokanu.
- Sourav (9/5): - Lovely traditional inn with friendly staff. My room was spacious, with tatami floor and s comfortable futon. They offer a choice of western or japanese style breakfasts, and both options were pretty good. The location is decent, not too far from the castle park, Omicho market or Higashichaya. They also have public baths, though I didn’t have time to try that. The bath attached to my room was very cramped.

- Anne (9/5): Great value, lovely comfortable and welcoming place to stay. - Fabulous location in quiet street, yet very close to Omicho market and easy walking distance to the castle and Kenrokuen. Staff very helpful & welcoming. Bath room good as facilities. Room comfortable .good value for money. Nothing as was really good.
- Carol (10/5): We had a great time in Kanazawa which was helped by our stay here! - Great breakfast and perfect location! Nothing

- Kanyaphat (10/5): - My parents and I had an amazing experience staying in authentic Japanese Ryokan. We stayed in a big room for 3 ppl with private bathroom. The room is clean amd well organized, heater works great and staffs are polite and provided great services! The location is the best! A few minutes walk to 7-eleven, 8 minutes to Kanazawa castle then connecting to other places, next to Omicho market, and 6 minutes to Higashi Chaya. They also helped book taxi for us to go back to the train station early morning. Couldn't ask for the better place to stay.
- Leigh-Ann (10/5): Beautiful authentic stay for cherry blossom season - Beautiful building inside and out, clean and very comfortable in every way. We had 14 people in our group and they accommodated everyone’s food allergies and any issues promptly. Definitely will return. Nothing

- Neil (10/5): I enjoyed my 4 night stay at Nakayasu Ryokan. Would recommend staying in a traditional ryokan. I definitely would stay a - Property was clean and well maintained, the rooms were comfortable. Japanese breakfast was a great way to start the day. Location was great, close to the market and gardens. Staff were so helpful.
- Catherine (10/5): -
- WAYNE (8/5): An enjoyable cultural experience but a hotel would have been cheaper with more facilties. - The traditional style ryokan was an enjoyable experience with a number of sites within easy walking distance. Breakfast was well presented and filling and always served with a smile. We found the traditional futons a little uncomfortable and felt it was a little expensive given the facilities and compared with hotels in the area.
- Pamela (9/5): - Breakfast and location are terrific. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, and helped us find an inexpensive place to have dinner when almost everything was closed. Wish we had arranged dinner at the ryokan at least one night.
- Olanrewaju (10/5): -

- Fiona (8/5): Lovely and traditional - I really appreciated the traditional experience and had a comfortable stay. The traditional breakfast was tasty and filling. Staff didn't speak much English but were hospitable and helpful regardless. I used an onsen here for the first time - very soothing after long days spent on my feet. The location is excellent. Very walkable from Kanazawa station but the bus is even more convenient, plus it's easy to walk to plenty of other attractions around Kanazawa like the castle and surrounds, Kenroku-en, Omicho Market, a variety of museums and preserved traditional districts. Sitting on the floor and sleeping so close to the ground took some getting used to, but I think my sleep got better as the nights went on. It's an old building and sound seems to travel easily, including the floors creaking with every step. The wifi didn't work at all for me i.e. my phone could not pick up the network - didn't bring this to the attention of staff because I was able to use my data instead but just mentioning for the hotel in case others staying in the same room have this issue.
- Karen (8/5): Wonderful location, great meals and authentic ryokan experience. - The location was perfect, an easy walk to the Castle and Kenrokuen, as well as all the major sites. The Japanese breakfast was delicious, the downstairs breakfast room was cheerful. The evening meal, served in the room, was also delicious. The bath was great. It would have been nice to have more of a lounge to sit in and relax downstairs. As a non-Japanese, it’s more relaxing to sit in a chair in the evening.
- Yuri (10/5): -
- Susan (8/5): We would come again, worth the value!! - Friendly staff and great meals! The baths were wonderful too!
- Alina (9/5): -
- Derek (9/5): A genuine ryokan experience we are grateful to have had. - Public onsen was honestly wonderful. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. Extremely easy to hear other rooms. Beds were pretty firm, even considering sleeping on the floor.
- Pia (9/5): -
- Pierre (10/5): - Kindness and care of the staff for their hosts.
The traditional dinner was very good in a very nice private room for our family.
The ryokan is close to the train station (<10min) as well as a metro station, which is convenient.
- Valentina (10/5): -
- Eugenia (10/5): Perfect ryokan stay - Fantastic location with comfortable rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the onsen is a real treat.
- Erin (10/5): Lovely little ryokan with amazing food and welcoming staff - Loved this little ryokan! The staff were lovely and very communicative - I was running late and worried about missing dinner, but they were responsive on booking's chat and it was no problem. The food was incredible too, one of the best spreads I've had in any ryokan. It was also very easy to get here from the train station, and only a couple blocks to the incredible Omicho market. I would definitely stay here again.
- Natalia (7/5): Fine - Great location, the staff are very nice andd helpful. While in most of the hotels/ryokans you get amenities, the only thing you get is the tea. There is no soap in the shower (you need to go to the small onsen), and only one towel per day (no hands nor face towel, only the bath towel).
- Piotr (10/5): Great experience - Great traditional ryokan. Very clean and comfortable nevertheless. Superb hospitality. Perfect location for Omicho Market and Higashi Chaya District. Good onsen on location. Nothing.
- micol (10/5): Best traditional experience I could have - 5 mins walking from the castle in a quiet and charming neighborhood
Warm welcome from the reception and the room was a perfect nest in japanese style.
My booking had a shared bathroom, available close to my room, super clean and never busy.
The sento downstairs was also a nice and relaxing surprise.
Staff have been really supportive and nice throughout my stay, and the highlight for me has been the food.
I will continue to dream about the traditional dinner I had, but also the japanese breakfast positively surprised me.
If back in Kanazawa I'd definitely book here again.
- Elisa (8/5): -
- Susan (7/5): - The owners were very friendly and we loved the dinners. The ryoken would benefit from some maintenance work and general tidying up to make it feel more welcoming.
Merci beaucoup. Le lieux a vécu et ça se voit.
- Alison (9/5): - Traditional accommodation, helpful staff, public bath, choice of two tasty breakfasts and happy to adapt for a vegetarian. We were fine with this, but it may come as a shock to some people that if you book a room with shared bathroom facilities there are no separate shower cubicles, you shower in the public bath area.
- Winter (10/5): - Great facilities and very helpful staff, always respectful and happy to help.
- Florentin (10/5): -
- Tanja (6/5): - Struttura vecchia Struttura vecchia e non ben curata. Pulito
- Paola (8/5): -
Rien
- Cristian (8/5): - Pulizia, e cordialità dello staff.
Cena e colazione abbondante Nulla
- Valentina (9/5): - Wonderful experience and very kind staff
- Stefan (9/5): - Great Location (Even with an Olsen inside)
- Markus (9/5): -
- Pedro (8/5): Good stay in Miyajima - Room was nice. Staff was kind and helpful. Even when we had a missunderstanding about the payment status, they were patient and kind.
The onsen was pretty nice. Breakfast was not good but not bad either
- John (10/5): Enjoyable traditional Japanese inn. - Enjoyed the traditional Japanese inn experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly…and let me check in early! Couldn’t use the public bath because of my tattoos but that was expected.
- Lorenzo (9/5): Ryokan in ottima posizione e staff al top - Personale super gentile e disponibile. Cena giapponese veramente buona e particolare. Tutto estremamente pulito.
