- Šárka (7/5): - The resort is very well structured. It has it's own beach with many umbrellas and sundbeds. The restaurant was great. Animations during day are without loud music which I appreciate. It was very annoying to deal with local guys at the beach trying to sell some suvenirs or services.
We stayed in the bungalow where there are 2 rooms next to each other divided just by the doors - it was inconvenient to hear every word or sound from the second room.
The room cleaning service wasn't satisfied.
The gym needs improvement many machines were broken and it was poorly equipped.
- Reka Viktoria (10/5): -
- Amine (8/5): -
- Adelle (7/5): - The food was good. It was a shame there was no additional snacks or treats during the day. My children would have enjoyed ice cream being added. The beach boys were a little annoying

- Danelle (7/5): Value for money - We really enjoyed the pool area I know this isn't the property's fault, but the vendors at the beach make one (especially as a woman) very uncomfortable. They will literally sit with their backs to the beach and stare and yell at you - I do understand that this is how they make a living, but the invasion of personal space when you simply want to go for a swim in the ocean is too much. I respect people trying to make a living, but I don't respect people that impose on boundaries. We went to other hotels on the island and they employed security guards to minimize the harassment.
Sonst echt toll hier!
- Matas (6/5): Wouldn’t come back - Truly beautiful garden, comfortable sun beds, good price The wifi is absolutely not usable, it doesn’t work in the rooms and in the reception it’s very slow. There is a guy who is always next to the bar and annoying selling his massage every minute…who allowed him there? Sellers on the beach are also extremely annoying, they follow you everywhere you go. Other hotel is building a bridge nearby, so the sea water is extremely dirty. Food is very repetitive, always the same. Staff could be more friendly.
- rogerfQ6283IY (10/5): Waridi time. - Here we go.
This is Africa and this is an African hotel. Not everything is going to be perfect…..but this is our third time in Zanzibar and it is a great place to relax. Check in was odd as couldn’t find our booking but the hotel Director made light of it an we had breakfast and then to our rooms and the beach.
Beach has sellers on it that can be annoying but firm for two days and that stopped any hassle.
The new hotel being built next door was sometimes noisy……but not Waridi’s fault.
Rooms are African…..there to sleep in…..beds are “firm”. Aircon is fine on grid power but off on hotel generator system. No issues. Gardens lovely. Pool fine. Sunbeds comfy……I’m on one now. Bar is good as is restaurant…./although the menu could be improved for fussy eaters like me.
Staff are fabulous.
Need on catamaran this morning. That’s fun.
Children used spa and massage…..that’s good.
Just go and chill. Relax. Enjoy.
- 219inkaj (6/5): On average - We stayed at this hotel during the first week of October. The hotel is older, but nicely furnished in the local style and very clean. All the staff are helpful and accommodating.
We booked all-inclusive through a travel agency. There was a large selection of food for everyone, from meat, vegetables, and soup to fruit and desserts... I consider it a major shortcoming that bottled water was only available at lunch and dinner. They did provide 300 ml of bottled water in the room every day, but if you wanted bottled water outside of lunch and dinner, you had to pay $2 for it or keep going to the bar for 300 ml of water in a cup. In a tropical area where drinking enough water is important and you can't even drink tap water, I see this as a problem. And coffee was also only available at breakfast... If we wanted coffee after lunch or in the afternoon, it was again at an additional cost of $3-6. Which I find ridiculous in a four-star hotel...
The beach was nice, but unfortunately, it was impossible to go swimming in the sea because local merchants stood right behind the resort beach and intrusively offered their products and excursions, and they were not tolerant even when you politely told them you were not interested. They were really aggressive, which I understand is not the hotel's fault, but they should at least tell them that when you say no, it means no.
When we were leaving, they forced us to fill out a satisfaction form, even though we told the receptionist five times that we would fill it out online, which at four in the morning does not make a good impression on the customer. I understand that the receptionist cannot help it and is instructed to do so by management, but again, it is terribly intrusive.
- Altair (7/5): Ok but basic - Outside was STUNNING! Garden's beautifully maintained and everywhere was neat and tidy. Rooms cleaned daily and to a hood standard. Would i say more 3 star!!! Rooms and facilities were very basic. For example only 1 pillow per person on the bed. Upon arrival you were given one large bottle of water and two small, you then have to go to reception to get more and you were only given two small ones and that was it. Then, should you attempt to take the large, still mostly full one provided with your meal, you were treated like you were attempting to steal the family silver! And made to decant them in to a plastic cup. Beach was nice, sunbeds were actually incredibly comfy! Just a shame that every time you moved on the beach you had someone shouting at you trying to sell you something...and some time even if you were just lay there! Nice stay but... would i go again??? Have tried looking again but still can't see where it says you are charged a local tax upon arrival of $20 usd a room a week and whilst i have taken it up with customer services (paid upfront and it said "including all taxes and charges!) i am now home and still not resolved the issue. Although we did get a small refund the day we changed our flights and left a day early! So there is that i guess...
- yoshy262 (4/5): Worse beach hotel ever experienced in Zanzibar - I will try to have a short summary about this hotel:
1 - The rooms are old, in the old building (the cheapest rooms) the rooms are renovated but the smell of paint is unbearable. Woodworms can be heard in the silence of the night, gnawing at the wood of the bed you sleep in.
Because of this, we changed rooms after 2 days, but we didn't change much about our accommodation, same thing but different room.
2 - The food is repetitive and below standards, sand in spinach, the lobster also with sand, and that was 35$, was not for free.
3 - The dirtiest beach ever seen in Zanzibar, check the photo what's in water at low tide.
4 - Some of the employees speak English, some do not speak it at all.
5 - The animation team does what it can, unfortunately not much: aqua gym, shawili lessons, table tennis, darts or boccia, cooking classes, visiting the local village, picking up trash from the beach with the help of tourists.
6 - On the beach a new hotel is builded, with the combination of sellers plus the noise from the contructions near by is impossible to have some peace and really enjoy your vacation.
I know, is not the hotel fault, they cannot control the public beach, but this is not my problem.
The hotel beach is cleaned at minimal effort.
*note to Management:
- I don't find normal to pay for a local beer 5$
- a bottle of "mineral water" of 500ml is 3$
- Lobster with sand? Was 35$. Was an unexpected surprise.
- Asked at sisha bar where I can order a pizza for dinner (19:30), 30 minutes later two workers comes with two pizza on the beach, was 13:10. Told them "thanks", paid (signed the bill) for those pizza and continued with my life.
If they don't speak English then why are hired?
Above the Sisha bar, there are three open-air rooms available, where there is a tennis table and that's it.
There is no bingo, no pool table, and I would have paid even 20$ for an hour of biliard.
*Now my message for you, the traveler - find another offer/ location.
The sellers on the beach are very, very pushy.
The beach is very dirty, I have never seen such a dirty beach as here.
You will not have peace, plus the new build hotel, near this one, will make a lot of noise.
If you have a light sleep the woodworms will make your sleep miserable.
ps - Visit the gift shop at reception area, good prices.
If you go in the village near Mr. Big discount shop is a liquer store called Majambo, where a beer costs 3000-4000-5000 shillings, depending on what brand you buy, a 0.75L mineral water costs 3000 shillings and so on. Try Flying Fish beer.
Your money- your choice.
Bottom line- I will never return at this hotel, 5000€ down the drain.
- Houssam (8/5): -
- Emmi (8/5): - Beautiful resort and Great food (best allinclusive bufféer ever eaten) Really nice friendly staff. Always helpful when needed. Good pool. But the location is in the Middle of nowhere and annoying vendors in the beach(not the hotels fault) Great hotel if you just wanna be on a resort The beach with all the vendors on the beach haunting you. Location
- Sarconnor56uk (10/5): Peaceful Escape! - As a solo traveller, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect retreat.
The peaceful surroundings, gentle ocean breeze, and quiet beaches made it an ideal place to relax. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always making sure I felt comfortable without being intrusive. I’m already dreaming of my next visit.
- MAURIZIO (10/5): - Struttura bellissima a Zanzibar. Un plauso a Said.
- Najiya (7/5): Good - Clean, room space The food could better satisfy different preferences in the future. Wifi is very poor and disconnected all time
- Rikin (9/5): Friendly, active and accommodating for families - good selection of food; tried to accommodate for Gluten free needs; staff friendly; activity program was great. selection of included drinks/cocktails could have been better/wider.
coffee was awful- could have made provision for fresh ground or filtered coffee, rather than the instant powder stuff
- Shamza21 (2/5): Unpleasant stay - I would not recommend Waridi.
- The beach is unusable due to excessive seaweed, and beach vendors (“beach boys”) are extremely persistent—even following you into the water to try and sell you tours and souvenirs.
- The hotel isn’t child-friendly; the small pool is the only form of entertainment.
- The all-inclusive package is very limited - you can choose from a few local cocktails. Bottled water is not included in the package and there is minimal variety at meals (which are all buffet style)
- Our family suite had uncomfortable single beds with thin mattresses and a damp-smelling bathroom.
- Rooms are poorly maintained, and the Wi-Fi is unreliable.
- Beata (5/5): Passable - Beach Limited breakfast. They have fresh fruits but they serve carton juice.
No bacon, and not talking about pork meat because I understand is a Muslim country but in other countries they still serve beef bacon.
It happened that bar didn’t have mint or even ice to make drinks. Never saw any bar not having ice before and travelled in Asia, Middle East, Europe, US, South America and Caribbean before.
They propose shisha for a price but they don’t have charcoal for it.
In all inclusive basis you get only 2 small bottles of water per day, if you want more you need to buy it from the bar. And the big bottle of water given during your lunch or dinner you can’t take it with you even if you didn’t finish. It doesn’t make any sense for an all inclusive facility.
Gym- no equipment is working a part of weights.
Wifi only works in reception or restaurant. Once there was internet problem and had no wifi until 2 pm.
Be careful, they scam on the transportation if you pay in different currencies.
So best pay in the cheapest foreign currency eg in USD rather than in Euro or any other than is more valuable.
There are 5 channels in TV and if actually TV is working then the image has lines on it. Most of the time anyway it didn’t work.
This is not related to hotel but, you can’t go out to the beach without being bothered by locals. This is annoying to another level.
- Hanna (10/5): A true corner of paradise in Zanzibar! - The resort is nestled in nature, right on the beach, perfect for those seeking relaxation and tranquillity. The staff are always smiling and helpful, the rooms are cosy and spotless, and the cuisine is varied and delicious. A dream experience we would love to repeat!
- Cláudia (1/5): A bad experience! - NON The room needs renovation and when we arrived nothing worked. We spoke to the reception and they fixed the sockets and the lamp, but the TV was just a decorative item. There are a lot of power outages and the air conditioning didn't work for three days. It was very hot and it was very difficult to sleep. The bed was uncomfortable. The wifi doesn’t work properly. There were a lot of flies in the restaurant the whole time. The food had no variety, always the same taste and was extremely bad. The breakfast was nothing. The quality of the drinks was horrible. There were only a few drinks included in the all-inclusive package and the ones that were there were very bad. We were on the all-inclusive package and asked for a bottle of water and they said it would be charged separately and we could only get a glasses of water. They regulated the water. The bar stays open until late, but we can only get drinks on the all-inclusive plan until 10 pm. The staff lack training and there is no entertainment. The hotel is very far from everything and you can't even eat anywhere else unless you take a taxi. The beach is full of Masai people bothering you to buy everything from them, making it impossible to relax. Anyway, I don't recommend it at all.
- Emmanuel (8/5): Emmanuel - The staff were exceptional and provided support NON
- O5204WDdm (2/5): not good! - Unfortunately this hotel is not serious. We arrived after a 10-hour journey and they told us that there were problems with the room, something related to the electricity, only to find out from the travel agency that they had sold more rooms than they had available. They moved us to another hotel, also in the AHG chain, but much inferior. No supplement was offered, no 30-minute massage voucher. The idea was that if we wanted another hotel, we would book another hotel. For us it was a very unpleasant experience!
- Elizabeth (9/5): A very relaxing holiday! - From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at ease.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and attentive.
The resort itself is a beautiful oasis, with gorgeus gardens.
I had a beautiful room with a stunning views of the ocean.
I especially loved the beach area, where I could relax.
The resort offers a variety of delicious options, and I enjoyed every meal, from breakfast to dinner. It was a perfect mix of local flavors and international dishes.
I can't wait to go back!
- Eni (3/5): Poor - Be careful when you choose to book your stay at Waridi. Photo's you see here don't represent exactly the rooms you are going to stay and the place is a bit old. This place has a cheap feeling even though the price you pay is not cheap considering that you are in Zanzibar. The worst thing about this resort is the SPA center managed from a different company. Be careful of their offers and "special discounts." They are very nice when they are selling their packages but not polite at all when you ask them for refunds if you haven't received the services.
- Morne (4/5): I will not recommend this resort if it was not for the friendly staff and the staff only. - - Friendly staff
- Fun activities
- Great food, but limited selection
- Nice pool area
- Clean facilities. - The main Gate is difficult to find.
- Bed bugs and termites on bed frames.
- The resort spa management will keep bugging you until you agree to use his services.
- Insane amount of beggars on the beach. They will disturb you when you try to relax.
- Not English-friendly, even on movie nights they will play movies in other languages.
- Cats in the dining area while you eat.
- Extremely poor wifi/internet connection.
- Pool swimming and beach times are limited to 7 PM.
- Constant construction noises, you will be guaranteed to hear this throughout the day.
- Fayez (10/5): A hidden gem for relaxation - All the staff without any exceptions: Reception, service, restaurant, bar, spa, housekeeping, gardening, maintenance, animation, kitchen; were friendly, welcoming, cheerfull and helpfull. The place was spotless clean. the food was quite delicious. The animation programms were very interesting and well thought of, and the staff did a great job executing it.
- 81fs (10/5): A hidden gem in Zanzibar worth visiting - This might not be a 5 star establishment but one gets a 5 star value for money.
The rooms are spotless clean.
The staff and I mean all the staff whether at the reception, restaurant, bar, pool, beach, spa, housekeeping or maintenance are very polite, friendly, cheerful and very helpful.
The food is freshly prepared and delicious.
The animation team are great with their ideas.
I can only highly recommend this place for a fantastic holiday.
- Tigran (7/5): Good - basically everything was good, BUT - the alcoholic drinks were all local, not of good quality, the staff was kind, the wifi was terrible, there was almost no internet on the beach if you want a beach holiday, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel, the tides are always low, there is no sea, and when there is everything dirty, we swam 2 times for 10 days9
- Malgorzata (8/5): Memorable stay - Very nice, attentive staff, interesting animations. Nice African-style architecture of the hotel. Beautiful view on the ocean. Great manager Marina - we felt really welcomed.
The beach is beautiful - you can have a long walk of you like. There were construction sites just around the hotel - my sleep is very shallow and the noises were waking me up every day at 7 am. There was also a renovation of one of the bungalows on the hotel area and the noises were unfortunately heard on the beach beds.
- Cristina (9/5): Memorable experience!! - We recently stayed at this hotel, the experience was absolutely remarkable. The view of the ocean from our room was simply breathtaking. The food variety here surpassed my expectations compared to other hotels in Zanzibar, we took breakfast and dinner included, during the day we were eating at excursions or in the restaurat of the hotel which was nice. The staff was super friendly and always ready to help.
My boyfriend proposed to me here, and it was amazing! The manager and half of the staff helped make it super special. The team's support and effort made the moment magical. The setting was beautiful, and everyone was so excited and helpful. Big thanks to the manager for making our engagement day so memorable. If you want a place with a staff that goes the extra mile, this hotel is perfect. We'll always remember our special moment here! Highly recommend it to others! What I'm about to share could be seen as both a positive and a negative aspect. Right outside the hotel, there are locals offering their services, including people from the Maasai tribe in Tanzania. Initially, they were quite insistent, but in the end, I can say we ended up making new friends. They introduced us to a new culture, and we ended up loving it.
Regarding the hotel's massage prices, they are quite high. However, we opted for a massage right there on the beach with a Tanzanian woman named Maila, and it turned out to be one of the best massages I've ever had. I highly recommend trying their services.
- kapuzineraffeni (2/5): Worst "resort" I have experiences in my life - We hated this place. It is only enjoyable for people on budget who have zero expectations or compare it with places they saw 50 years ago. These bathrooms are a punishment, stinking, making you puke while brushing teeth. Other negative reviews are also correct, most people except for very old ones complain about many things here. Unfortunately most people will just deal with the suffering and not leave honest negative reviews, because it is their vacation and it is not their job to lecture the hotel to work at least the tiniest amount of professionally. Basically the locals are left to play around with furniture making and all other crafts without supervision. What you get is a combination of "nice tries". So sad we had to suffer in this hell 😭. And the worst is that ridiculous manager. Talking to her feels like talking to a small Giraffe. Sort of funny but a complete waste of time and nerves. The has nothing under control, does not to any quality checks herself whatsoever and then says the very obvious negatives sides the customers complain about weren't true. What a seldomly pathetic and ridiculous place. It will surely make for a good travel story for years to come, but not in a nice way.
- TravelKeks (2/5): Insufficient service attitude or bad organization - We had to wait still for the room to be ready at 4:30pm in the afternoon and for them it is totally normal.............. not a great start and rather unpleasent, also they still do this hand band thing u have to wear at all times ... the only thing missing would be a bunch of drunks in th pool LOL.
- 180neverm (6/5): Small hotel, service is not excellent - Тhere is no hair conditioner, the rest of the products are bottled, it is not clear what is where. The hotel itself is not bad, but the staff is in no hurry to help you.
Separately, I would like to ask to change sun-umbrellas. They are so low that you almost crawl under them. People often head off.
- Urasa (7/5): Good - Staff were very friendly Sockets in our rooms didn't support 3 pin chargers which is country and British standard
- Hakim (9/5): Superb -
- Freddie (9/5): it is a 9/10 for peace, serene, and amazing stay! - Very nice and accommodating staff! they gave my friend a congratulatory letter as requested and even allowed us to check in early and check out late. Everyday there are activities that is being organized by the staff so guests would have an amazing stay. they also have Good Food, nice spa, and great service! Special shoutout to the Guest relations officer Ms. Miche miche ! She paid attention to details and welcomed us with a very amazing hospitality. Thank you very much! I think the onion rings that we ordered for room service. Cause that’s just sauteed onion rings.. it tasted burnt, no breading, not the typical onion rings you’ll buy elsewhere
- Gulamali (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tahar (1/5): Bad -
- Silvia (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed our stay, we should have stayed longer!!
The hotel ambience is fantastic as well as the staff that is always smiling and very helpful the food is very tasty, there are fish, meat, pasta sweets, tropical fruit, fresh fruit juices… wow!
The beach is paradisiac, it seems a dream and it’ very relaxing.
What we appreciated more than everything was our bungalow with sea view… a stunning view! The room was very clean and there’s everything you need.
We will definitely come back, asante sana!
- Marine (1/5): Bad experience, rooms are old and smelly (with sometimes no water in the bathroom), and food is too occidental - the only good points are that animation staff is nice, and spa has reasonable prices. We were very disappointed by Waridi - on booking pictures, you could have the impression it’s a small, cosy hotel, but it’s actually a big spa with all the inconscient linked:
Rooms are old and have a weird smell, bathroom was a drama (door nearly banging in the toilet seat, water heat management was a nightmare, low pressure, with even sometimes no longer water at all…).
Animators are friendly, but sometimes animation music is too loud (aquagym at noon for instance - not relaxing at all when you are laying on the beach).
The diner buffet is very occidental : too bad that most of dishes are stuff you could eat in Europe, while you could expect more local cuisine such as curry’s, etc. Overall quality from medium to good for some meals.
On the contrary, breakfast buffet was very bad: industrial jams, tasteless pastries (and good luck to manage to have crepes, as they were always out…), coffee quality very variable.
Also, the private part of the beach is surrounded by locals who are literally sitting and waiting to tout for massages / cashews / clothing etc. It’s a very weird sensation to relax on the beach and see you are watched.
For the good points : staff and animators are friendly, good spa for reasonable price.
- Bhavnish (8/5): Very good -
- Jeki (10/5): Exceptional - The view, the activities and the food Had to walk from the gate and to the gate as the security would not let our driver in and the day of checkout we had to carry heavy bags to the gate as well... Very unpleasant
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not the best experience ever - Overall bad experience since check in, we had to come back to reception 3 times before getting everything properly, such as wifi card, towels, safe key. At least they allowed us with an early check in. Do not book all inclusive formula since it's a cheat. Even tanzania beer such as serengeti or kilimanjaro are not included, they just serve another beer included. In the room you will find 2 little bottles of water (200ml each). Choose if you want to drink or have a coffee. I live in Tanzania and I don't have problem with teeth washing, but I can immane tourists how can manage the task. You can even not take to your room the water left on lunch or dinner, it's not allowed and they collect all bottles from the tables. I think they prepare coffee or tea with that.
All the waiters and cookers very friendly and always kind and welcoming.
The beach plot is very nice as well. Unfortunately many bad services lead us to leave without great memories of this place for our short holidays.
- Neringa (8/5): - Nice and quiet hotel. Lovely staff and food. Perfect stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was great service. And the resort has a lot of potential. However the air conditioning was not functioning well and everything inside got humid both day and night. The beach needs to be cleaned more often. If you are going to book the snorkeling tour from the hotel make sure to ask them if they have only snorkelers or also divers. We had 2 divers with us witch requires more time and a different schedule than snorkeling so we ended up just waiting for them for a really long time. The snorkeling tour was not worth the money. The staff is really nice though and the actual place of the resort is beautiful
- Verified traveler (8/5): Incredible stay at Waridi - Enjoyed our stay ! Beautiful location and views. Nice Rooms
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel paradisiaque - Hotel with beautiful seaview !
Amazing journey in Zanzibar, the expeditions are great and all the staff is really professional !
Little problem :
- The water in the shower was not warm all the time (cold if everybody take the shower in the same time)
- sometimes, the animations are loud but always sympatic
- Ivica (8/5): Conveniant hotel - Hotel is mainly occupied by Italians and Germans. It is located on the beach which is nice but the sea water is full of sea weed and it is not really nice for swimming. There is a small pool which is ok. Bungalow rooms are nice, stylish... It is not advisable to go out of the hotel at night since it is located an a very poor village (as all of them are) and there is no road infrastructure, there is no night light outside hotel... There are no restaurants anywhere near (30km or more) so you have to take full board or at least half board. If you rent a car you will be in a position to visit different parts of the island. Be aware that beside main roads all other roads are dirt roads (macadam), so drive carefully.
- Mark (8/5): Zanzibar - A very pretty hotel with very helpful staff on a gorgeous beach. Sadly not a great deal to do outside of the hotel apart from the amazing beaches.
