• Joseph (8/5): - Great location right on the beach. Spectacular panorama at a very reasonable price. Nice swimming pool and deck area. Easy access to the beach. Room was modest but clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and it seemed “family-run.” The on site restaurant had a good free breakfast and other meals available, with a great view of the ocean. The hotel is hard to access because the road going to the hotel requires a very difficult dangerous and illegal turn across a busy highway, or you have to travel a few kilometers beyond the turnoff to find a place you can do a safe U-turn. The road in is bumpy, so just drive slow. Parking is plentiful but you have to drag your suitcase over the unpaved ground to get to the stairs going up to the reception area. No elevator. I’d definitely go back now that I know how to navigate the turn into the access road.

• Omaira (6/5): - The view of the ocean and the breeze were amazing. The entrance and the grounds were beautiful. The rooms, however are very obsolete. The overall experience was excellent for the price.

The air conditioning unit has probably never been cleaned, and we both ended up with a cough after spending a night with it on. The menu was very limited. It appeared that the hotel was built in the 1950s and has not been updated since. The beach was very nice though.

On sent l’hôtel laissé à l’abandon alors que ça pourrait être une pépite. J’allais oublier la piscine glissante et dangereuse (les abords). Franchement à fuir

• David (6/5): Basic affordble - Nice economical hotel close to the beach. I was there low season during the week so the restaurant was closed which left few eating options. Romm was basic but sleepable. Probably overal 3+ stats.
• Marc (8/5): - The owners and staff here are amazing. They were helpful and friendly and genuine. The pool is nice and there in nice seating around the pool and along the oceanside as well as in the bar/restaurant The rooms could use some TLC and attention, but they have clean beds and AC, and all of the beauty of the bay just outside, so it could be overlooked. Especially with such nice people running the place. It is, IMO, a step above a hostel, A great bargain, not a luxury hotel. We rated it high, because we weren't looking for luxury, we were looking for a real Panamanian stay, and it was an enjoyable couple of nights.

• Eduardo (2/5): - The pictures shows are not like the property is, it needs maintenance, the property do not have back up energy, no administration at night, just the security guy.
• Edward (6/5): - Nice place to stay over the weekend and going to the beach. No hot water, even when they confirmed it, so expect cold and luke/cold water. Breakfast is expensive and simple, but you can get by it. Restaurant is good for lunch and diner. Room safety is sketchy, with doors closing poorly, and no internal door block. Only a simple bedroom door knob. There are improvements to the place, but still needs a lot of work.
• Dana (6/5): You get what you pay for... - Our first stay in the interior outside of Panama City. Honestly, the price is what attracted us. Proximity to beach and the "younger staff" were good. On the negative side.. no hot water, TV did not work, breakfast was ok but had to show reservation which stated "included", pictures not showing true representation, a bit neglected and run down, "older staff" not as friendly. Spend the extra $10-$20 dollars next time, it's worth it.

• Joanne (10/5): Very pleasant and relaxing stay - Really enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend. The hotel was in a beautiful location on the beach and had a very relaxed feel. The pool was lovely and surroundings pleasant too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was very nice and we also visited the restaurant next door. There are a couple of surf schools just up the road where the kids had lessons. Yes parts of the hotel could do with some updating/redecoration but this did not detract from a lovely stay.

• John (6/5): - The property is on the beach with high surf. Not suited for families unless you use the pool. The room was clean but of sub standard for the price charged. Breakfast was included but was served cold. If the rate was 35.00 a night I would not complain, but given the other choices in the same price range it was not a good choice on my part. If more effort was spend on landscaping, general cleaning and finishing a number of their add on facilities and some good paint the property would certainly be worth the rate charged. People are friendly and want to help but i can see that their financial situation presents limitations to bring the property to its elevated potential. It is not easy to say this as I feel their pain, but sometimes the naked truth can help to speed up the process to make the change or find solutions.

• un happy, (4/5): Very old, and staff seem to hate their job. - Old hotel, old room, old furniture, and all of them worn out. Staff does not seem to offer any services, and hope you leave soon. Ac bareley cools, and location was much farther away than what I needed

• Verified traveler (4/5): On the beach, but leaves something to be desired - Receptionist that checked us in was very friendly. Hotel is right on the beach. It is an older property, but for the most part clean. Room was small. Pool closes at 6:30 which was disappointing for our kids as we were gone during the day and they looked forward to swimming when we got back. One of the nights we did swim after it was closed. The staff didn't seem to mind, but all the lights around the pool were shut off. Our maid service consisted of clean towels and toilet paper left outside of our room. Our stay wasn't miserable, but I won't be in a hurry to return.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Poor breakfast. - Online it stated free continental breakfast which is important when traveling with family. When we asked where it was we were then served 3 slices of toast and a glass of juice! Nothing else! The room was no frills. Holes in the door, bathroom shower drain did not drain so you stood in water to take your shower. Staff was.nice and the dinner that we paid for was fine but not great! Overall would not go back!
• Char (6/5): Attractive beach hotel in the San Carlos area. - We enjoyed walking and exploring the area, including the small town of San Carlos about 2 miles away. It was hot but an umbrella provided some shade for comfort while walking where there wasn't shade. San Carlos had lots of shops to visit. We watched surfers at a beach a couple of blocks from the hotel and did some swimming there. We met some travelers from Germany and had good visits with them. The hotel pool was great for cooling off and lounging around. We enjoyed eating meals overlooking the ocean. It was a relaxing four days at a comfortable hotel. We wished we knew more Spanish to better have conversations with the locals who didn't speak much English.
• Robert (4/5): Don't waste your money on this hotel! - We chose Bay View Hotel due to its proximity to the Pacific. The room we were given was clean, tile floor. The shower didn't have a shower head and taking a shower caused to flood the bathroom and the actual room. We asked for a different room and that happened without any problems. The manager didn't seem to know that the shower head was missing. Our replacement room had one chair and a dresser. No coffee maker, no mini fridge. We had to beg for ice at the hotel bar. The free breakfast consisted of 3 slices of toast and jelly. Free Wifi only worked outside of the room and was sketchy at best. We spent four nights there and had to actually ask for fresh towels. Nobody ever came to clean the room or change the sheets.We will not waste our money on this dump again.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Great dinner! - It is a nice hotel to stay for a night when you just want to go out of the city at the last minute (or if you are a surf fan, since El Palmar beach have very good waves. About the hotel, it has a great location: beach front, nice amenities as small pool, restaurant, bar, etc. We arrived late, so we only ordered dinner. It was delicious, nice surprise for what we were expecting. That was a "Wao". The beds are very simple, but the mattress was good. The breakfast in the morning was good.
• Gina (6/5): First trip to Panama City beaches....not worth it! - Was one of the most expensive hotels we stayed in during our five week trip to Panama. Overpriced. Included Breakfast was only toast and coffee. Expensive food so we walked over to Manglar Lodge, other end of parking lot, for our dinners. Great menu, food, atmosphere, owners. Our room at Bay View was very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool especially with children. But the chemicals were not correct or not used and our daughters hair turned green after just a couple swims. Fine location and views from the dining area and lobby. Easy access to beach. No surf at all the three days we were there. Renting boards very expensive. If you want to learn to surf , we suggest play venao or Santa Catalina. Fork out the extra money and go west a bit more.
• Cate (6/5): Great room, loud street - The Bahia hotel had a good, clean room which was very modern. Unfortunately the honking of horns on the street made it very loud and difficult to sleep. We were also across from the maids room which was also loud. I'm a deep sleeper but the morning traffic was very frustrating and I wouldn't stay in this location again.
