Guest Reviews
- Wesley (8/5): - Good stay.
- Andrea (8/5): - Limited options best for convenience to everything
- Kris (8/5): - I like being close to all attractions
- D Matthew (8/5): - Comfortable place to stay.
- Debbie (6/5): - No smoke alarm
Air conditioning did not work
People fighting inside and out
- seyfi (10/5): - We loved it. Ismail and all.other staff were very helpful
Thanks everyone
- John (10/5): - Did not see the location for the family restaurant. We accidently made our way to the bar and grill. Security was kind enough to show us the other restaurant.
- Lina (8/5): Good Stay - Stayed here 3 nights while visiting for work. I enjoyed how the hotel was connected to a pharmacy/grocery store and had two restaurants plus a cafe inside. It was the dead of winter so I appreciated not having to go outside to grab a meal. I tried both restaurants and they were quite good, one is more of a bar/pub food with events during select nights. The room itself is quite large and cozy, it is definitely on the older side but it was still clean and comfortable. Staff were pleasant, and there is also a movie theatre inside the hotel if you are looking for some entertainment!
- Emma (10/5): - Good
- Mary (10/5): - Best food in Iqaluit.
- Joanne (8/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Martyn (10/5): - Stayed 2 nights in June 2022 and enjoyed my stay. Good location and very helpful staff.
- charles (10/5): Iqualiut hotel - Only issue I had was a couple lamps in my room didn't work but overall had a very enjoyable stay. Onsite restaruants were good and the room was comfortable
- sylvain (6/5): Average - GOOD: Good service, staff very polite and helpful.
NOT SO GOOD: Bathroom sink and counter not very clean. Had to ask for a bed sheet as I was expected to sleep with quilt only...Unable to control the room temperature and it got very warm. Was able to open windows to help to cool down the room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Reduced menu due to Covid-19 restrictions, but did not have accompaniments with meals (ie: gravy, sauces) nor was there enough meals in the small cafe for dinner for all guests.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cleanliness and smiling staff, generous potions of food
- Salome (2/5): Not good - The staff are very rude to Inuit of the community
They need to shine more respect
- JL (8/5): Great Bay View - Not much to chose from; but would probably stay there again if rates were a bit lower.
- Miranda (8/5): Best place to stay in Iqaluit! - Booked for an employee; he was impressed with the airport shuttle, pleasant customer service and location.
- Rajen (2/5): Don't stay here! - The advertised service was poor. The hotel was understaffed and it took tow calls, one for 12 minutes the other for 18 minutes before they picked the phone up. Then they still did not show up to get me from the airport as paid for. Then there was no internet service as advertised. The Hotel manager then proceeded to blame me for not knowing how to use a computer (I have been using one for over 35 years). She was very aggressive and kept trying to pass blame on me. Even stating that I was "just a complainer." And wanted me to account for why there was not a big line up of people complaining.
I recorded her conversation ad told her I was doing so before she de-escalated her behaviour. I also had spoken to the security guard before speaking with her and he explained that the hotel does not purchase enough bandwith. This was also confirmed by the staff at the bar associated with the hotel.
For being the top hotel charging over $300 a night I expect better. Senior management need to consider who they hire to represent their hotel.
- Brian (8/5): - Best of limited accommodation choices available now in Iqaluit. Central for many of the conferences/meetings taking place. Rooms comfortable, complex has restaurant, bar, convenience store, coffee shop. Had to leave early and had no problems, staff helpful. Poor wifi service but that is normal in the north.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - enjoyable experience for first time up north, except for minor difference in price from what was given online during reservation process
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great restaurant, bar service questionable , forgot to clean my room one day
- Ken (8/5): - Very welcoming staff, great location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great service. The room was clean, the service was great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place and friendly staff... I enjoyed my stay at Frobisher Inn and I recommend Frobisher inn to anyone.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Frobisher Hotel in Iqaluit - Good location. Not pleased with the lack of cleanliness. Dirty glasses, garbage in bin on arrival and stains on the bed covers.
- Tracy (10/5): Nice hotel to stay at - Nice and calm to relax.
Good friendly workers.
Looking forward ro stay there again sometime in the future
- Nancy E (8/5): - Enjoyed the restaurant for supper. Front desk staff were very helpful. Handy to have a convenience shop on the ground floor. Centrally located.
- Andrea (8/5): - Enjoyed the clean and comfy room on our way home from Ayuituqq Park! Airport shuttle and being able to store our packs at the hotel until our flight were very helpful features!
- Brian (8/5): - Frob is a good place to stay in Iqaluit. Has been around forever but they are always investing in upgrades and maintenance. My room had some recent upgrades to the bathroom and bedroom.
- Judy (8/5): Good hotel - Good hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great amenities for a small city - Asides from the heat being too high in the hotel with no way to control it individually, the Frobisher Inn is a great place to stay when in Iqaluit.
- Floyd Bjorgan (8/5): Best choice - This was my first trip to Iqaluit, but I would recommend staying at the Frobrisher. With all the amenities in the associated complex it made it easy to do what I needed without having to travel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It's a nice hotel. Cinema and food options on the premises - but the curfew is weird.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Forbisher working hard to make it a good stay - Frobisher is working hard to make it a good place to stay in a challenging place for comfort.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Convenient, clean and friendly! - The Frobisher is a great place to stay in Iqaluit! The staff are friendly, beds comfy... the Internet could use an upgrade but it's tough in the North.
- Donald (6/5): - Food has gone downhill WIFI very poor
- Verified traveler (6/5): OK hotel by Arctic standards, Discovery is better - Definitely an OK hotel by Arctic standards. I was in Clyde River (where I highly recommend the Naujaraaluit Hotel), and stayed here on my overnight layover. Had I not stayed at the Discovery Inn on my way up, I would have found this hotel fine, but compared to the Discovery it really can't compete. The Discovery has a GREAT restaurant, fantastic wifi, and is walkable to the main streets around town. Plus, the Discovery had 24/7 airport rides, any time you needed it, and was brand new. The Frobisher is older and has terrible wifi - which is a big deal if you are traveling on business or research, as was I.
- Verified traveler (6/5): good but noisy - i hear the sound from the bar in my room, i was too close
- Verified traveler (10/5): January Chill - I was travelling on business and was exhausted, The Frobisher Inn was what was needed for relaxation and rest.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Walking distance to everything - I've never been to a hotel that had a cinema attached to it! I didn't use the theatre, but it was impressive. The great view from the hotel rooms helps to see where you want to walk to. If you don't want to walk, there's always a taxi waiting out front. The staff were excellent!
- Trip (8/5): Great location, everything you need - The hotel is a bustling part of the community, with a fine restaurant, a pub, a cafe, a convenience store, fitness facilities and a movie theatre(!) all at the entrance. The rooms are smallish, but very clean and everything works. The blinds could have been in better shape and more effective, and I did not have a view, but that did not hinder my comfort. The room was cold and guests cannot control the temperature (energy costs are high there) - I had a space heater but I did find it cold in the afternoons. My room was quiet for the most part, but as the number of guests increased that changed a bit. Like many hotels, you can hear music, footsteps, water running, etc., but I had the sense that they manage the hotel so that it is pretty peaceful. The staff were helpful and competent.
- Rishi (6/5): Disappointing facilities for the price - Bathroom was dingy and dated, sheets and pillows threadbare. I understand things are more expensive in the north, but you will get a much better experience staying at a B&B in Iqaluit. I also did not get the room type I booked (queen bed).
I almost burned myself showering as the water would suddenly become scalding hot for a few seconds every few minutes without warning.
- Peter (10/5): 4⭐️ Hotel in Iqaluit - Great hotel! Convenient location.
