Guest Reviews
- Tania (8/5): Very nice - Breakfast was very good, great ambience
- Konstantina (10/5): - Exceptional, walkable location, gorgeous private garden, and very comfy bedding
- Stein-Eirik (9/5): A fairytale of a house, with an engaged staff who wanted you to have a good experience in San Francisco - A fantastic breakfast, lots of interesting people to meet over breakfast, friendly staff and a house full of surprises. We have been on a 2 month journey around the world and have not seen anything like this - ever!
In addition the location to bus and underground was perfect, and centrally located to shops and restaurants. Check out the nearest, Fiore Caffe, 40 meters down the road. Nothing
- Luzviminda (10/5): Please see the comment about what we love the most. - The house and decor were amazingly beautiful! The location was close to everything. We walk to eat, shopping, and meeting up with our granddaughter ❤️. It was easy to get transportation to and from. Sheila took time to welcome us and shared the story of the house. She was very personable. Thank you Sheila! None
- Michael (9/5): A pleasant stay in a quirky Bed and Breakfast. - The breakfast was good, with a lot of options to choose from. Although we arrived late in the evening, accessing our room was easy and straightforward. The welcome the following morning at breakfast was very warm and sincere. The closest BART station was about 7 minutes walk away. The garden was beautiful and if we had had the time, it would have been nice to sit out there and relax. The room was not serviced during our stay (3 nights) which we were surprised at, given the cost of the room (almost £580). The details given when booking the room stated that there were coffee machines in each room, but this was not the case. We only found out the morning after we arrived that the kitchen was available 24/7 for drinks.
- Mikaela (9/5): Cozy blast from the past with amazing location - What a cool place to stay. Location is fantastic, breakfast is delicious, and the overall vibe of the property was historic and cozy. So much to see in every room, and it felt like stepping back in time in the best way. We stayed in the downstairs garden cabana, which was very private and quiet. We also loved the Japanese toilet! Check-in process was a little confusing since the morning staff didn't have our keys prepared, but luckily Sheila saved the day and got us into our room.
- hyojin (4/5): - very friendly staff hygiene not clean at all
I think the bed sheet wasn't clean I wasn't able to sleep comfortably...something sand texture things were on the bed sheet..so I had to spread my towels...

- Frank (10/5): -
- John (9/5): - Breakfast was good. The garden was wonderful. Great bedding. Host was super, history lesson was fun.
- Chiung-Yu (7/5): - The breakfast is nice, with a variety of options. The bed is nice, too. The garden looks amazing in summer.
- regis (9/5): -
- Anne (9/5): Bonne expérience dans une maison victorienne haute en couleur et petit déjeuner divers et copieux. - Style original et accueil très agréable
- Linda (8/5): All in all it was a great location in a charming Victorian house. - Breakfast was outstanding! Lots of things to choose from including fresh fruit and yogurt daily. Muffins, frittata, salmon, cheeses, pancakes, French toast, cereals! Sheila and Noe were very friendly and seemed to genuinely care about each guest. Kathleen was very nice as well. Mis matched, old towels need to be replaced. Ditto with clothes hangers.
Lots of stairs.
Very small shower.
- Raymond (10/5): Absolutely Amazing! Will definitely be coming back to the Nest during our next visit to San Francisco. Thank you so much -
- Tal (10/5): - Definitely exceeded expectations, staff was super nice and welcoming, breakfast was amazing and the house felt like home, it was apparent that it is a very well maintained and loved place, having a piano I felt welcome to play on was definitely a big plus.
Also - housekeeping was remarkable, especially for a house so elaborately decorated, didn't see a grain of dust and it was just beautiful.
10/10 Nothing!
- Theresa (5/5): -
- Hunter (9/5): - Fabulous staff & historic site. Beautiful yard & garden to enjoy. Felt like home, away from home. When we are in this area again, we will certainly be back for another stay! The many wonderful holiday decorations made for a festive stay, but look forward to seeing everything in the house when its not so cluttered with holiday joy.
- Camille (10/5): -
- Tamar (7/5): if you are looking for an unusual place to stay, that's the place! - The location was fine. met our expectations. The place is very unique. Loaded with art, furnituers, stories about the family, etc.....
sometimes too loaded.
Breakfast was fine and the staffis was helpfull for whatever we needeed.
The place has very special Atmosphere!!
- Asko (7/5): - The house was full of halloween stuff that was a bit scary but funny too. We had booking that was made by booking.com and we had 3 persons but actually the room was too small for it. They should change it in filter system in booking. com. But breakfast was very delicious and homemade and the area was nice too.
- xinghua (4/5): -
- Dmytro (10/5): -
- Beth (10/5): Wonderful quirky little BnB - The warmth and hospitality beat out any hotel anywhere. The comfort and vibe is unmatched. No cookie cutter vibe here. S and N are wonderful. The location is terrific. I highly recommend.
- STEPHANIE (6/5): - When we came at 12:45 to check in, the staff didn't know who we were and couldn't find the reservation. Finally one of them found it. At that point, we asked if we could check into the room, as we had just arrived after a 14 hour flight. Sheila had left me a message asking when we would arrive and said the room would most likely be ready once we arrived at 12:30 ish. The staff said they needed another 1 1/2 Hours. We decided to go somewhere else to stay as we didn't feel comfortable in this space and needed to get some sleep. We would appreciate a refund, if possible.
- Mark (8/5): - I very unique experience. The view room was nice.
- Anthony (10/5): -
- HSIU JAN (10/5): - Room is clean with great view. Sheila is very hospitable and helpful. Walking distance to restaurants. Highly recommended.
- Courtney (10/5): - A very quirky and fun B&B in walking distance to The Mission District. The room was really clean and the garden was beautiful for breakfast. The owner was lovely and made us feel very welcome.
- Quanzheng (10/5): - It’s an amazing experience and it’s not like hotel, it’s more like a home !!
- Lynne (10/5): -
- Carolyn (10/5): Will stay again ! Memories and stories abound ! - What an absolute gem !!! We loved getting to know Sheila and enjoyed her wonderful home.
Great energy … great rooms, location… backyard garden is a paradise.
- Dorothy (10/5): - Lovely friendly b and b in a good location
- Robert (10/5): A Great Spot in SF - We love Noe's Nest B&B. We try to stay in the neighborhoods when we visit SF. This place is quintessential San Francisco, a big old quirky and eclectically decorated Victorian. The hosts are great and the vibes are good. Loved it!
- Eli (9/5): Superb -
- Francis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francis (10/5): A wonderful, comfortable place to stay while visiting San Francisco. - Noe's Nest is a wonderful bed and breakfast with unusual decorations and pictures throughout the house. It has comfortable rooms and a lovely garden in back. Sheila Ash, the owner, is warm and welcoming. She also makes wonderful fritatas for breakfasts which are generous and delicious. While this is totally out of Sheila's control, a warning to anyone bringing a car, the parking is very challenging (A general problem in San Francisco). There are parking garages not too far away. However, expect $40+ per day for a car.
- Susan (9/5): I will return and request main floor accommodation - Comfortable rooms/delicious food/great location/friendly vibe Hard to carry luggage up the stairs. Rooms not easily accessible if you have any knee, back mobility issues.
- John (10/5): - This is an amazing place. The bed was good, breakfast was super, the owner is wonderful.
The best thing ws the amazing decor. There are so many amazing pieces and pictures.
It is a special place
- Lori (10/5): Look no further- this is the real deal bed and BREAKFAST in a great location - A fabulous, homey B&B with charming decor! Well furnished room with comfortable king bed, sweet kitchenette and lovely garden. The breakfast served on fine china in the lovely eat in kitchen was absolutely fabulous with a wide variety of food & sweets! The location was great to walk around and Uber was inexpensive and easy! Highly recommend this beautiful B&B and cannot wait to return. Sheila and the entire staff were exception in seeing to all of our wants & needs. There were 2 art pieces that I bought after admiring it in the kitchen and I have a lovely fine souvenir!
- Tim (9/5): Superb -
- Shlomit (7/5): Good -
- Raymond (10/5): - Absolutely Amazing! Will definitely be coming back to the Nest during our next visit to San Francisco. Thank you so much Sheila and Noe, you made our stay and our experience here even more lovely. Extremely personable and felt like home away from home. From the room, to the neighborhood, the food, decor, and service was wonderful. 10/10!
- Janet (10/5): - Very friendly. Welcoming. Delicious breakfast.
- Tim (10/5): - The Noe property was exceptional. From the figurines, the artwork, to the memorabilia. The backyard was alive with floral.
We will be back😎
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Cecilia (10/5): A heartwarming artsy stay in SF - The allure of the place is quite unforgettable. Enjoyed the house tour by Sheila who shared stories behind her beautiful and fun possessions. The breakfast was also an artistic yet satisfying spread, but overall I liked how heartwarming and accommodating Sheila and the staff were.
- Andrew (10/5): - Great location and amazing experience. I had lived in SF for many years before, but was visiting as a tourist so decided to try something new and stay in this quirky BnB. I was not disappointed. The house is obvious from the street with the many fun lights and decorations. We arrived late at night, but the host was still able to let us in, and in any case we had been given clear instructions how to get in otherwise. We found street parking each day we were there, though there is also a garage nearby.
As you walk in, it's like the personal museum of the owner Sheila and you could spend a whole afternoon looking at all the decor and history in the house. The stay itself was smooth and loved how each room had their own character (we stayed in the Kendra West). Breakfast was delicious and we were able to talk to Sheila one morning and catch up on her story too and how this place came to be. There is also a beautiful garden in the back where you can also take your breakfast. Would definitely come back!
- Laura (5/5): Fun but filthy - Funky and fun. Good location. Nice guests Dirty. Kitchen is gundgy
- Elena (10/5): An experience in itself! - Our host Shiela was extraordinary. Fun, gracious, welcoming and helpful with navigating the city. The breakfast was what bed and breakfasts were made for!
- Michael (10/5): - Charming!
- Katherine (10/5): Comfortable, the staff was very accommodating - Very nice The owner is an exceptional person.
Breakfast was phenomenal
- Kiera (10/5): - Would definitely recommend. Breakfast was fit for a queen. My room the Venetian was absolutely gorgeous.
- Doug (10/5): - Very charming B&B, with a colorful and delightful proprietor at the helm, supported by capable and friendly staff. Great location. Very nice neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again on my return to SFO.
- Chris (7/5): Good -
- Thunet (10/5): Amazing place, location, service and welcome ! -
- Emily-rose (3/5): Dirty - The decor looked nice--so long as you didn't look too close. Most of it was covered in dirt and dust. So dirty. No privacy. Went to make a cup of coffee and the kitchinette was covered in dust and grime. There was no way I was eating anything from that kitchen. Left about an hour after arriving. Thin walls in rooms that were cramped together.
- Smitha (7/5): Its a unique experience to stay in an old Edwardian home and learn about the history of the place. - I liked the quirkiness of the place and the owner is friendly and has a number of rich stories. The place has history and seems like a comfortable home. The location is excellent! Walking distance to 24th street and Noe Valley. I did a bunch of long walks around the block and felt absolutely safe. I didn't like the breakfast. I knew it started at 7am but all the stuff was cold by the time I went to breakfast. The milk in the fridge was spoilt so my coffee didnt taste good. I had breakfast one day and ate out the other days, since there are so many nice places around.
- Anne (10/5): - My second time at Noe's Nest and was so glad I came back. Highlights for me are the glorious breakfast with so many yummy items to choose from like a veggie fritatta and an amazing backyard flower garden and teahouse. Noe Valley and the Mission are great places to walk and dine.
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olshan (5/5): Passable -
- Rafael (9/5): Superb -
- Tyler (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (9/5): Comfortable stay in antique bnb - Unique, many great antiques, luxurious. We were upgraded to Sheila’s Chapeau room - views of the city are gorgeous.
- Bill (10/5): A beautiful experience, an eclectic paradise. - Everything. The House and the Lady and gentleman of the House are perfect and beautiful reflections of each other. We loved it, and Sheila and Noe. Great neighbourhood, interesting but safe. Would have stayed longer if we could have.
- Ron (10/5): Exceptional - Certainly the most interesting stay I've had in the US. A house filled with personal touches of the host Shiela with a wonderful quiet yard, a living room space and beutiful rooms. Breakfast prepared by Noe and Shiela was not only very tasty but also a catalyst for intersting conversations with world travelers. Located 5 mins walk from the BART station with which you get quickly to the downtown and close to Valencia street with great food options, interesting stores and a good vibe.
- Aidan (10/5): I was only there for one night and it was perfect. Breakfast was sumptuous. - The view out my window. And all the artwork stashed around the house. Nothing
- Jonathan (10/5): Charm & history - We only could be there one night, but you’d need days to take in all the art and artifacts Sheila has on display. We got a fascinating tour and were then shown up to our suite, very comfortable and cozy. This Victorian house is beautifully maintained and the yard is inviting. Sadly, we weren’t there long enough to enjoy it or even have breakfast in the warm and inviting kitchen. Next time.
- Sheri (10/5): Wonderful experience! - Breakfast was delicious. They have a great location. Our second stay with them. Sheila and Noe are exceptional!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Will definitely stay again - Wonderful neighborhood Victorian with great authenticity, drsign details, and awesome holuday decorations! During the week parking restrictions are a little challenging, but great restaurants and shops are walking distance.
- Azalia (10/5): Bohemian artsy & convenient - This is charming little bohemian place in a very convenient area of San Francisco. Completely charming and very artistic, they even make a scrumptious breakfast in the morning.
- Jonathan (10/5): Escondido - hidden love - is Noe’s nest be - Noe’s Nest is an original impeccable elegant San Francisco gem with more charming personality than the land of Oz. A dazzling special vibrant Victorian nestled in the colorful heart of the exciting and enticing Mission district Noe’s has it all - a caring helpful owner and staff , a pitch perfect location, impeccable, comfortable and sparkling with enticement. It is an end of the rainbow experience. The beauty of an unique original home comes with an old fashion electrical outlets that provide all the basic b&b needs but feel overburdened when guests have to plug charging all the multiple devices we now fundamental needs in this AI age - cell phones, computers - could use modification and electrical upgrades.
- Kersh (8/5): Very good -
- Sara (10/5): Charming stay in the heart of SF - Noe's nest is a charming, quirky bed-and-breakfast in the heart of the Mission district. I loved all the fun art and furniture throughout. We stayed in the Stage room which has a disconnected private bathroom. The bed was ridiculously comfortable (like I legitimately wanted to know what mattress brand they use), the location was walkable to restaurants, and the breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay here again. All great!
- Marcia (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing oasis in busy San Francisco. Beautiful breakfast. Attentive and helpful staff. I would definitely stay there again.
