- Peter (10/5): It was a pleasure to stay at the Riverbend Lodge. We hope to have other chances. - The 1950s -era motel is on the shore of the Tuckaseegee River, just above the bend (hence the name), and it is a unique and beautiful spot. Each room has its own riverside wooden deck with chairs and an outdoor grill. Bryson City's downtown with its unique charms and restaurants is a 5-minute drive aay. The room itself is generous and thoughtfully furnished, with comfortable chairs and a very good mattress. The receptionist/owner is a lovely person, welcoming guests with genuine warmth. We liked everything.
- Kerry (8/5): We had a great stay and we will be back - Great location. The river was awesome
- Jonathan (7/5): -
- Joseph (10/5): Great, I recommend highly. - The location was great-relaxing by the river and very close to down town. The room was fresh and spotless. Shower was hot, a/c was cold. Mattress was great. It may not look fancy from the outside but don’t judge a book by the cover. Nothing
- Sandra (6/5): Won’t return or recommend. - Pretty location along river.
Close to town.
Hot water quickly. Property not kept in shape. Leaves around door. Mud between car and entrance to room.
Office not manned all the time. Office smelled like cats and was messy!
Information about WiFi connection not accurate at first.
Price too high for a place that doesn’t serve breakfast.
- Bruce (10/5): -
- Berry (10/5): - The location to our event. The town was nice and close to 2 other towns we like to visit as well. Couldn't figure out how to get the hot water in the shower to work even after turing it to hot. Wasn't a downer tho.
- Jeremy (9/5): - Everything Nothing
- Israel (9/5): -
- Ismelvis (10/5): -

- Burroughs (10/5): WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE - I was traveling late and the office closed at 9. I recieved a call stating they would leave my things in the room and it was ready for me upon arrival. Very accommodating ❤️ when we walked in after a long travel everything was super clean and welcoming. Wish we could have been there longer. The location was perfect to the train a station I wish there would have been a blow dryer for my hair before I went out into the cooler temperatures the morning of checkout
- Thacker (10/5): Amazing time! Will be visiting again! - Cleanliness, quiet area, riverside view was perfect, close to just about anything you may need.
- Larry (10/5): - The view was amazing Overall it was great
- Jose (8/5): -
- Winfrey (10/5): -
- Patti Jean (5/5): - Bed was good newer mattress, room was clean I booked CABINS they don't have cabins here so don't understand why it was listed as having cabins.
- Susan (8/5): -
- Joann (7/5): Would not stay there again - Not much Bed very uncomfortable. Room to tiny
- John (10/5): older motel but very well maintained - very scenic and close to town
- Gabriel (10/5): -
- Greta Roach (10/5): - Love the closeness to everything and the peace of it. 2nd time staying here. Will definitely be back. Nothing bad to say about this place.
- Kay (10/5): -
- Glenn (7/5): Shop around before booking. - I had to wait 15 minutes for the hot water to be warm enough to shower. I was in room 7.
- Cook (9/5): -
- Tom And Florinda (7/5): It was good for why we were there. - Location was good. Driveway
- Barry (10/5): -
- Mccoy (8/5): Very good - The river The tiny bathroom. Nowhere to sit your makeup or hairdryer. And if you're short you can barely see yourself in the mirror.
- Sharon (7/5): The name suits - Good location on the river and quiet. Great facilities if you were staying for week. We chose the cabin for 4 but not sure how that would’ve worked, possibly a bit cramped unless a family. A little dark as the other rooms looked brighter and open (noted from the outside) but it was remote from the others.
- Amanda (5/5): Passable - Pretty view Bathroom was too small. Very outdated rooms
- Dukes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sutton (4/5): Disappointing -
- Russ (10/5): Riverfront gorgeous - So peaceful and quiet. And river front was gorgeous!
- Dalton (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location if you're riding the train. Very clean.and a beautiful view
- Susan (4/5): Disappointing - The river view, the staff No hooks or closet to hang a coat up. Entrance and exit was blind to the point that it limited activities. There needs to be a traffic mirror. Ac/heat needs caulk around unit
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional - Gwen was absolutely lovely. I knew it was closed to the river but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was right outside the room along with a personal little deck. I will be back.
We had come up to go on the Polar express. N/A
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location close to everything. Clean facility. More than enough room for our family. Excellent customer service.
- Linda (10/5): Nice riverside place within walking distance to Bryson City! - Great location in town and right on the river. All was great!
- Russell (7/5): location is good and its on the river which is cool - location was good Expected something similar to a cabin, not an older motel
- Donald (10/5): Exceptional - By far the cleanest property we've ever stated at. The small deck to sit out at & watch the river flow, or the day fade to dark was a treat. The staff was friendly and helpful. It's a small place but fit our needs perfectly, no crowded parking lot and peaceful. Especially liked the double recliners!
- Rosalie (8/5): Very good - Affordable comfort on the river. Bed was great. Still cleaning up after the hurricane.
- Gary (7/5): Good -
- Tish (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fiona (10/5): Very welcoming and friendly. We arrived late due to traffic and they were very accommodating. Beautiful setting in a fa - Beautiful setting, close to town. Comfortable and clean with excellent facilities. Nothing
- Zachary (9/5): It was perfect for a relaxing weekend on the river - The location is perfect. It's right on the river and the mornings sitting and watching it are so peaceful. It was a big room with lots of space to move around. The beds were a little too soft for my liking, but that's just my preference. The driveway to get in and out of the place. getting in no problem, getting out can be challenging as it is difficult to see oncoming traffic from the right. It's a small place so it doesn't have amenities corporate places have, but in this setting it works. Just know it's rustic and small.
- austinpatti1 (10/5): Beautiful lodge, on the river - Everyone there was wonderful and super nice!!!! The beds were comfortable! The kitchen had everything we could need, including spices, coffee filters, plates, knives, spoons, a crockpot, and even some dish soap and tools to scrub. BBQ was furnished but we had to get charcoal. We loved the large grass area by the firepit and the covered areas to sit under. They had outside chairs too. It is RIGHT on the river & very close to town! We highly recommend it!
- Lucy (3/5): For the price comparison in the area, it should have been half the cost. The grounds were not kept up nicely. It looked - Location near water was good but could not walk down to the main street area because of no sidewalks show was good. Bugs everywhere. Smelled like mold. Floors dirty and dusty The room was small with a king bed. Very hard to maneuver around it. The toilet was not comfort height and very close to the wall. Seniors have a tough time with low toilets. The TV mount was in an awkward location.
- Sundberg (10/5): Beyond my expectations! - I liked everything! The view was exactly as I had hoped, the cabin was cozy, easy to access, extremely clean and most accommodating. Such a relaxed and friendly environment, I could stay here forever!
This place is located one minute from quaint downtown Bryson City that has so much to see and do. I'm already planning my next trip! I was so impressed by the property and the management staff! What an excellent recommendation! I can't think of a single thing I was dissatisfied with.
- Payne (8/5): Very good -
- Dale (9/5): I will recommend this place to friends - We ate Everette street diner. And the River was so peaceful and relaxing Nothing
- Dan (9/5): Great place, would stay again - This is old style motor lodge right beside the river. Staff is easy to deal with and the room was very comfortable. Don't expect resort sytle accomidations but it's great little place to rest your head for the night. The drive way getting in and out is bit tricky to navigate.
- Judy (10/5): Enjoyed a nice relaxing getaway. Close to town. Loved it! Would like to come back sometime - Relaxing by the river Nothing
- Mcintyre (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laverne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ricky (9/5): It was pleasant and peaceful . - The peacefulness of the river that runs along the back . We had hoped to fish but found getting to the water difficult with the steep bank.
- Rita (9/5): Wonderful place. Very quiet right on river - So close to train and downtown. Nice lounge chairs
Outside seats and tables Nothing
- Jeff (3/5): An unfortunate experience - River was nice I've been holding off reviewing this, but booking.com keeps sending me reminders:
Checked in, cabin was not prepared (ac wasn't on). Spent top dollar for it, but they weren't expecting me, so cabin was very hot (July). The view would've been nice, but trees were blocking the view from the front porch with a 3ft diameter drainage pipe right in front of the cabin. Immediately checked out, (we couldn't take the 90+ degree heat in the cabin), but received no refund since it was through booking.com
So, $150 for a very limited view cabin that wasn't ready for us. Just ate the cost and went elsewhere. There should be some exceptions to the "no refund" rule, especially when I book as much as I do with Booking.com. I'm much more leary of booking places on here without already knowing first hand where I'm booking.
- cherib526 (10/5): Wonderful place to stay. - This place is the best place my husband has ever stayed at. We have stayed in several places over the years from the mountains to the keys. We are your average people and like traveling. Riverbend is very clean and comfortable. We got to sit outside and watch the wildlife in the river. The inside is sooo comfortable. Beds are the best. Recliners in the room, clean bathroom, powerful shower. Not to mention the couple that runs the place are great people. You will not go wrong staying here. Close to Cherokee, the Great Smokey Mtn Railroad, as well as the white-water rafting companies.
- Rose (8/5): Very good - Loved being next to the water. Close to town and trails. Really clean. The room had everything you needed. Check in easy. The bed was actually only down fall. It was not comfortable. Everything else was great.
- Carla (9/5): Great - Location was great for us
- Robbie (8/5): Very good -
- Catherine (7/5): Our room was clean and comfortable. Really good value. I would stay at this lodging again. -
- Norma (10/5): Exceptional - Great Location. The river was so therapeutic and just what I needed. Everyone was nice and accommodating.
- serenely49 (10/5): Serenity - I usually stay at a hotel but my last minute decision left me with few options. So I decided to take a chance on Riverbend Lodge in Bryson City North Carolina. I'm so happy that I did. The room was clean and contained all your basic necessities. There was a table outside for you to sit at and a grill if you didn't want to do takeout. But the blessing was the beautiful river that runs behind the lodge. I just sat there taking in God's handiwork. Definitely worth the trip.
- Larry (8/5): Relaxing - Location. Close to bryson city the casino and rafting and you can fish on the river right at the cabin. Shade cool weather.
- John (9/5): We would use the facility again. - River view, staff. A little dated but functional.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (8/5): It was a reasonable place to stay for our train trip in Bryson City. - It was conveniently located to Bryson City and the restaurants there. The room was very clean and the place was extremely quiet. No breakfast, but there were places not far away. It could use a cuteness upgrade, but otherwise, no complaints.
- Marilyn (9/5): Superb - Great riverside lovation never did really get hot water
- Billy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gil (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): Great staff and beautiful location - Beautiful location Nothing
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- Sante (10/5): Loved it. - Nice motel right on the river rapids. Room was updated and very comfortable. Nothing
- Yormarelis (10/5): Exceptional -
- GoPlaces39855650300 (2/5): Cancellation policy sucks, use a larger chain hotel. - Its sad to say, but the flu hit my family hard this year and right before Christmas. We had planned to go to Bryson City for the Polar Express. We booked at this hotel and because it was 4 days before the booking, we could not cancel or get our money back. Sometimes it pays to go with a bigger chain. We wanted to give our business to a local place but that ended up costing us a few hundred dollars. Dont make the same mistake we made. Use a larger chain with a more customer focused cancellation policy.
- Renee (9/5): Superb - The river view from the room. Room was simple indeed but very clean It said ice was available but after 4 trips to the ice dispenser/maker in 2 days there was none to be found either time.
- Emily (8/5): Very good - River front Had to leave a day early
- Kaitlin (10/5): Very comfortable - Great for a small family or couples! Plenty of outdoor seating at the river and a fire area! The driveway was difficult
- Scott (8/5): Great stay - River Cable
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional - Facilities are clean, peaceful, comfortable, and very close to downtown and train depot. We will definitely try to book Riverbend Lodging if we return to Bryson City again.
A1. Our stay was too short.
- Susan (8/5): Very good - Bed and pillows were hard
- John (7/5): Comfortable and clean, great location. - Best location to town and on the river Exiting the property is challenging.
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - The view from the room The windows were not clear. Clean but not good to see thru normal
- Russell (7/5): Rooms were clean and comfortable. River view was great! - Private with a limited number of rooms. No real river access. You can see the river but to get down to it there is one little path of rocks for steps. Kind of dangerous for senior citizens.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Robin (9/5): Superb -
- Brigid (7/5): Very pleasant for a nights stay. - The river Door was not solid and didn’t feel secure.
