Guest Reviews
- Anthony (4/5): - The room was dirty and very outdated literally a bed TV and a mini firidge in a10x10 box. Noisy since you are right off the main road and here every car that drives by and every noise outside would never stay there again.
- Joni (4/5): - Room was average cleanliness. There were no tissues, only one waste basket-in the bathroom, only had wall lamps by the bed and no other lighting, no hangers and no hand towels. They wanted to put us down between the office and some rooms with no parking - we asked to switch so we could park in front of our room and not carry our stuff so far. They had plenty of open rooms so there was no need to put us back there. The bathroom counter had cigarette burns. When we asked to move we had a different person at the desk and she did not speak English.
- Gideon (8/5): - Stayed 3 nights. Clean Room. Place was generally ok for the price.
- sylvia (6/5): - Room was dirty coffee stain rings on night stand, large foreign object under desk, smelly shower curtain and over scented room.
- Donald (8/5): - It was close to an event
- Jubal (10/5): - Chggh
- Mark (2/5): - I was delayed and no one answered the phone for late check in. I could not check in
- Williams (10/5): - I like the room and the costumer service
- Michael (6/5): - The quality of the motel was very high, the room was pleasant and very quiet despite being close to a fairly busy road. Supermarket nearby which makes getting supplies good, and ample parking.
One member of staff had a very poor understanding of English which made check-out nearly impossible, but the man who checked me in did a great service.
However, 32 days later I'm yet to receive my deposit back. I've enquired on their website to no luck. If you're going to stay here it's going to be pleasant, but make sure you pay on a credit card so you can charge it back when they don't refund you.
- ABDELSHAKOUR (8/5): - It is fine
- Kevin (6/5): - Charged me $20 for s room with a desk to work at. Old facilities znd bed. Desk not proper height to use laptop on.
- Michael (6/5): - Visibly dirty. Sink was clogged when I walked into the first room they gave me. Customer service was great and got me a different room immediately. Second room had small bits of debris in corners and towels could use refreshing one of mine had holes
- Brandy (10/5): - Good spot
- Randolph (2/5): - This place is a total dive. It is impossible to contact the hotel by phone or email once you have booked it. The rooms are terrible. There isn't even a towel rack. The mattress is horrible. The AC stopped working during the night. Don't even consider it. I left after 1 night (& still had a night I had paid for) because it was unworkable.
- ron (10/5): - As or better than expected
- Bill (8/5): - Very smal room bed, tv, mini fridge and bathroom. But very clean. Comfortable bed.
- Michelle (8/5): Meh - Accidentally booked a smoking room but it’d have been fine if the room was more modern and didn’t have loose floorboards.
- Robert (8/5): No Frills But Fine - Just needed a spot for the night. Place was fine. No frills.
- Alex (10/5): - Good
- Anikas (6/5): - Nothing unique was quiet and a place to sleep i had a mini fridge. Could use a deep clean but that's most lower priced hotels
- Altug (8/5): - Good
- Steve (8/5): Nice stay - Great place to stay
- Robert (10/5): - This place is reasonably priced. Great place for off the beaten path sleep. Area is quiet enough to hear a pin deep. Room came with a microwave and small fridge. About 7 miles south of Providence
- Sean (10/5): - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“Clean, quiet, and comfortable — great value!”
I had a great experience at the Shangri La Motel. The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the overall vibe of the place was quiet and relaxing. The hardwood floors made it feel clean and fresh, which I really appreciated. Staff was helpful and respectful, and I liked that the property felt safe and well maintained. For the price and location, this was a solid choice. I’d definitely stay here again.
- Lenine (8/5): - It was good

- Alycia (10/5): - ****
- Allison (10/5): - Awesome , very clean
- Nicholas D (2/5): - I was pretty overwhelmed by the smell of cleaning supplies, however the room was not clean. There were what I hope to be urine stains all over the bathroom walls and tubs
- George (10/5): - It nice
- Breyanna (6/5): - You get what you pay for. I only needed a place to sleep for the night which is what i got. The beds aren’t comfortable & the walls need a paint job. Shower head was also broken but still able to shower. Convenient for a quick stay. Nothing fancy. Staff was nice, check in was quick and easy.
Oh before i forget. I thought i lost the room key so my man went to the front desk for another one. They gave it to him without asking for any ID or proof of him staying in the room. I didn’t add his info to the reservation; i only put it was 2 guest with my info ofc. That was alil concerning.
- Kerri (2/5): - The room reeked of a nasty smell Everytime the air conditioner was on. Floors were sticky.
- Jody (10/5): - Comfortable
- Jennifer (2/5): - Rooms dirty not a good cleaning at all
- Christopher (10/5): - Beautiful
- Robert (10/5): - Everything was what was expected
- Anthony (2/5): Will not return. EVER. - Description was wrong. Staff is rude, there is a deposit even though it says otherwise. They actually stipulated no visitors, I don’t even know if that is legal.
- Dean (6/5): - ok
- Jeaneiry (10/5): - .
- Kevin (8/5): - .
- Anthony (2/5): Poor - Bad customer service someone came in my room when I was in the shower bed is hard no toilet paper they messed up my reservation charged me twice
- Tasha (8/5): - the stay was perfect
- Abdelshakour (4/5): - The room was very cold. They did not start the AC before I come so it took two hours to warm up.
- Joshua (10/5): - It was very nice enjoyed it very much near all shopping centers
- Alexander (2/5): disgusted and ripped off - was totally disgusted with the filthiness of the room. I slept on the floor and checked out after one night and was charged for 5. although I did agree with their policy on cancellations, there should be remedy for customers who are dissatisfied with "product". like not paying for a meal that is unedible.
- Tatiana (4/5): - Not bad for a quick travel stay
- Javon (10/5): - Decent place to stay. Small but served its purpose for me.
- cecelia (10/5): - Very good
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Unclean room. Floor sticky. Smelled of urine. Bed lumpy and uncomfortable.
- Adrian (8/5): - Great value
- Alexander (2/5): - I didn’t like this property because I wasn’t allowed ANY visitors. I was in town for the weekend. Just my son, my father and I. The fact that I couldn’t bring a visitor to my room was insane. I’ve never heard of that kind of rule at a motel before. I would never stay there again
- Adrian (10/5): Visit - Great time
Great price
Great product
Great experience
- Dena (2/5): - When I checked in clerk asked “How many in the room?”, “Was I by myself?”, “Was I expecting any company?” I’ve never been given a third degree like that when checking into a motel by myself. Bath tub grout looked dirty. I didn’t feel it looked clean to use. There was a strange door in the room. Who knows what was behind it. Lots of street noise both from traffic and people walking on street.
- George E (8/5): Good for the price - This was a good value even though I think the staff should have reached out to me as a guest. I stayed 4 nights and no one offered to clean my room or empty garbage. Nevertheless, the room was comfortable and was clean when I arrived.
- Robert (4/5): - Cost of $147 for a 2 star at best MOTEL is crazy. Very small, utilitarian room. The base of the bed was a metal box that creaked each time you moved in the bed. Smallest bar of soap I have ever seen. No plugs by bed on either side.
- Gorjaun (8/5): - Solid quality establishment, would stay again
- Maria (10/5): - Very nicel.
- Luis (8/5): - It was a nice place
- Jordan (10/5): - I really liked staying here. It was safe, quiet, and convenient. The staff/owners were respectful, efficient, and polite.
- Julia (8/5): - I stayed here for one night on a road trip through RI. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are older and not super clean, but a normal Motel experience I would say. I could park directly in front of my room and felt save.
- Marcelino (8/5): - Room was small, but clean. Check in and out was quick and easy. Quick access to the highways. For the price, decent value.
- Joseph (8/5): - Not a bad choice to stay, near shopping and dining spots
- Jeff (10/5): - Rooms are small, but recently renovated. Floors, walls bathroom all looked recently new. Compared to hotels in the area. Great stay for the price.
- Adrian (10/5): Good Time - Great price
Great product
Great people
Great experience
- Mark (8/5): - Clean, quiet, a/c works great.
Would stay again.
- Kevin (10/5): - Clean safe quiet and great beds
- Carlo (4/5): - Tiny miserable rooms
- khu (10/5): - Staff service is friendly but room service is only 3 stars
- Melissa (6/5): - The place was sufficient for our one night stay. Small but suited our needs.
- Amy (4/5): - Only stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Can tell you that it was not worth over $100 for a night. The lock on the door did not work (made us feel extremely unsafe), the toilet paper was not changed from the previous guest & there was poop on it. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, & the air conditioner was so loud. Would not recommend this place to anyone, even if it’s only for a night. I understand the saying “you get what you pay for”, but in my honest opinion this place was not worth anything over $100 for a night.
- Naomi (10/5): - Definitely one of the better motels I’ve stayed at. The inside looks better than the outside. You get what you paid for
- Joel (8/5): - Exactly as advertised, perfect little motel stay
- Chris A. (4/5): - Needs sprucing up.
- Peter (4/5): - The room was not clean. The laminate floor was filthy. My white socks were black in minutes. That floor hadn't seen a map in weeks. Prison quality lighting. Old, thin towels. I can't believe what I paid to stay here. I should have slept in my car.
- Robert (8/5): Not Bad - Just needed a convenient, affordable place to stay before an early train from Providence the next morning. It’s clean, bed is a little hard, and the tv remote didn’t work, so I could only watch Lifetime, but I was only there to sleep
- Darline (4/5): - Little bit dirty and dusty
- Jaime (8/5): Clean but not comfy - The mattress was not comfortable.
- Jason (10/5): - Staff was friendly and the room was clean..
- Amanda (6/5): - It really is not a bad Motel. Has what you need just no iron, coffee maker or hair dryer. Bed was clean with clean fresh sheets, AC worked and shower was clean. Floors and surfaces were very dirty, like you can’t walk on the floor without shoes. But for the price it’s not a bad place to crash.
- Hannie (10/5): - Though I stayed for one night, I can say it was nice and affordable. If you’re looking for an affordable place to stay for a night or 2, I’d recommend Shangri La motel for sure.
- Randall (8/5): - Does the job. Convenient, clean. No frills.
- Kimberly (6/5): - Because of what I paid, I was very worried about the condition of the place. However, it was quiet, clean and easy to locate. The big big disadvantage is that they were hard to get in contact with, called over two hours and no answer.
- rebekah (6/5): - Nothing bad to say
- debra (6/5): - Should be listed as a hostel. Very small. No dresser, no iron, no hairdryer, no coffee maker. Probably my fault that i got a smoking room. Like an ashtray.
- christine (10/5): - Comfortable bed.
Very clean room in excellent condition.
It was nice to have a mini fridge and microwave.
Very kind and helpful front desk manager.
No ice machine. No coffee. No blow dryer.
- Timothy (6/5): It was just ok. - First the positives: It was a good price. The bed was comfortable. The a/c was ice cold. The hot water was incredibly hot and unlimited. Quiet neighborhood.
Now the negatives. The front desk was nice, but refused to give any more clean towels than the two we both had after two requests. You will have to reuse them like the three nights when we were there. The sheets looked like they had not been changed and had hair on them. The bathroom floors were sticky. There are minimal places to put things in the bathroom while using it, hooks would be a nice simple fix. Only one plastic hanger.
- Mason (10/5): - I loved the location. Perfect for everything I needed. The motel had quiet residents and the staff was very friendly.
- Marie (6/5): - Not clean.
- Justin (2/5): - Absolute sh*t hole. Dirty sheets, huge door gaps, stuff on walls. It's just a dump. They also double charged me for a room because I had booked prior to showing up. They INSISTED that I redo ot as a walk in so they could charge me a $50 incidental fee. They refuse to answer the phone when the booking service calls. I spend almost $300 to stay a dirty, rundown sh*t hole. Sleeping on the streets would be a better option
- Charles (10/5): - No hassle
- Matt (6/5): - Look, it was fine for what it is... A motel.
Did my room smell like BO and I needed to buy air fresheners? Sure.
Was my floor not washed to the point of feeling slimy/slippery and I bought wipes to clean the pathway I walked, including in the bathroom and it came away black? Sure.
Did the walls in the bathroom have spots that looked like dried pee on the walls that was explained to me were actually paint drops? Sure.
The bed was comfy enough, the pillows were fine. TV worked, lights worked, bathroom worked. Even had a fan in the bathroom, something bigger hotels never have!TV and microwave in the room worked.
Was it what I needed? Yep. Was it bug free? Yep (I ALWAYS check for bed bugs).
So, while not the nicest stay I've ever had, and even though I left 2 days early but still had to pay for my entire stay... It got the job done.
Could have used hangers in the room, and I definitely needed an iron and ironing board.
Some of the rules they have were odd, and there was no option of "do not disturb" at all...
Overall, on a budget, it's not bad, but if you can afford a little better... Do that instead.
- Norma (10/5): - Very nice .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Best price - Bare bones in size and amenities, but definitely good enough if you’re looking to save a few dollars
- April (8/5): - Cozy little room, bed wasnt very comfortable but might have been better if there were more than 2 pillows. Quaint but would stay again.
- Jean (6/5): - Stable pl
- Norma (6/5): - Need better pillow and more pillows for the bed
- Kelly (4/5): - The only good thing was that they had smoking rooms. The check in person was nice and check in was efficient. However, the accommodations leave a lot to be desired. The room was small and the desk chairs had legs to long that you tripped over them going by. No hairdryers, no ironing boards which I have NEVER encountered before. Aslo they don't leave hand towels. The bed was comfortable but was a full bed and not the queen bed I thought I booked. The curtain in the window was wrinkled and dirty. They could invest in better TVs as the picture is not the clearest. I gave it 2 stars because they had smoking rooms and the man at the check in desk was pleasant. I would only stay again because I was able to smoke.
- Barry (10/5): Clean, compact and comfortable - Traveling to the Cape, this was a quick rest stop
- Christina (10/5): - Love it. Easy and quick check in. Close to alot of food and shopping options. Clean and affordable.
- Sophie (8/5): Clean and functional place but wifi doesn't work - The place is clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly BUT the wifi didn't work. the person at the office tried to restart it but it still didn't work.
