Guest Reviews
- Wendy (10/5): - Loved the area Clean
- Dr. Robert (4/5): - Good location and price was decent. However, there's more than bad than good. The area was spacious, bed was ok and sheets looked clean. Now the bad, floors were sticky so I had to wear my shoes all the time. The back door stayed open and so anyone and come and go and the towels were stained. I stayed for YouTube purposes but wouldn't recommend unless your really on a budget. Not allowing me to attach photos but you can see reviews on Google.
- Marcus (4/5): You gotta be desperate - The service was good. My sales partner has cerval palsy and walks with braces so they gave us a first floor room but it was smoking and we didn’t feel comfortable. The woman at the front desk was nice tho. And we were desperate, plus it was inexpensive…but that’s about the only way I’d recommend this place.
- Tinastearns (7/5): Good -
- Jennifer (3/5): Refund plz - They have roaches the very first thing I seen was a roach crawling around on the counter. The TV didn't work could hear people arguing Everything
- Tinastearns (6/5): Pleasant -
- James (6/5): Good bed - Just a place to sleep. The heater and tv were fine and the bed was comfortable.
- John (8/5): Just What I Needed! - I simply needed a room for the night, and this one was comfortable, clean, and affordable.
Unlike some hotels I've stayed in, all the light fixtures worked, there were no cigarette holes in the bed sheets, or bugs in the bathroom.
I was only there for the one night, but it was EXACTLY what I needed. I would definitely stay there again.
- Ed (2/5): - Never actually stayed because they didn't have the room we reserved. Was unwilling to listen to our position, and didn't offer comparable option. Rude and uncaring.
- Lisa (2/5): - First off, i caught the desk clerk photocopying my credit card alongside my drivers license. When i asked why when they'd already run the paym3& it processed, they stated it was company policy & i could get the photocopy back when i checked out if i wanted.
2nd the property is NOT in any way handicapped accessible or friendly in the leadt bit.
3rd, the only ice machine for the 2 floors was broken.
4th, they have NO true non-smoking rooms, the one i was given reaked so heavily of cigarette smoke that it permeated everything in just a few hrs.
5th, the bathtub was so gross i was afraid to shower. The faucet for tub barely attached & black mold all around tub molding.
- Richard (10/5): - Bed was comfortable
- Justin (10/5): - An older facility but it was well kept. Staff was very nice.
- Darrell (2/5): Budget Inn of Claypool - unsatisfactory visit. - Check in was sub-standard, no one respond to the front bell. We got a response after opening doors and yelling down hallways. The Budget Inn did not have what I had ordered for rooms. Particularly, entire motel smelled of smoke and A/C did not cool the rooms satisfactory. Second day, one of the rooms had no running water for shower.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Rick (10/5): - Room was clean and staff was excellent
- Richard (8/5): OK for the price - Low buck no frills hotel. The mattress was worn out and needs to be replaced
- Raymond (2/5): - This motel was a disaster for us.
The price was not as advertised, There was no mention of pet fee(large) compared to other hotels. No coffee pot, or alarm clock in the room. No coffee at the desk. The room was clean but smelled of tobacco. The Halls were clean but again smelled of tobacco. The beds and pillows were not comfortable. The staff were amicable not friendly. Would not recommend or stay there again.
- Ronald (6/5): - Dogs allowed, which is ok with but they were out of control fighting in the hallway and owners screaming about the dogs. I think there might have been alcohol involved.
- Brian (8/5): My stay - It was good
- Ron (8/5): - Its a budget inn, so you get a slightly outdated facility at a great price. Super friendly and helpful owner. If you are a person that is Supportive over pampered I would recommend Helping this very pleasant young lady in her effort to keep this property afloat. Convenient location, off expressway that gets you to the backbone of the dragon in a few minutes.
- Kimberly (2/5): - They were sketchy people look like they were drugs smell of marijuana we asked for a queen size room non-smoking we got a double bedroom smoking
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Stayed while I was in a pinch.
For the price you pretty much know what it is already. Room was dirty, crusty blanket etc.
Cigarette smoke fills all the hallways leaks in the room.
Nobody bothered me & was pretty quiet.
Fridge, microwave, heater and tv did work though.
- Brian (10/5): Nice clean comfortable room - The room was very clean and comfortable. Check-in was quick and friendly. Hotel was a little dated but well maintained. Rates were very good as well. It appeared by the three cars outside that I was one of a handful of customers that night - likely due to Covid still being a problem. I would gladly stay here again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Rooms were terrible, and they couldnt even give us keys to get in, the lady at the feont desk had to let us in our room..we actually ended up leaving and staying somewhere else!! Tv didnt work and i wouldnt even take my shoes off in the room!! TERRIBLE
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I checked in and the said i could have three people in the room it was a room with two double beds and there was four of us she said we would have to get another room for the fourth person so we left very disappointed we went to super 8 around the corner and stayed
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was very charming and clean and staff was very friendly. The location was great. Close to stores and restaurants. Can’t think of anything I didn’t like. Thumbs up on this one
- Johnny (10/5): Give budget a chance. - I have stayed here on multiple occasions. The service here is great. The staff here are very helpful and friendly.
- Theresa (6/5): Not bad for the price. Bare bones but clean. - Clean room, no elevator, bare bones room but good price and friendly staff.
- Brian (8/5): Happy family - Owner was very nice and helpful
- Michael (4/5): Business trip - Rude reception upon arrival. Heat issues was taken care of. Decor out dated and dark.
- Sherry (4/5): - Very friendly people but it noise all might long! Slamming doors, sounded like someone working on something like a hammer beating every little while. Large gap under doors so you heard everything when people when down the hallways all night long and at the Crack of dawn !!! We didn't get no sleep there but it was a clean place!
- Leslie (2/5): - We got there. They charged me more. Charged for children. Then told me we had too many people and if we stayed he was going to call the cops. Asked for a refund and it still hasn't shown up on my credit card. Very rude and the place was a dump.
- George (6/5): Dissatisfied - For the price of a nights stay and the lack of amenities, it was over priced. I only stayed here because there was no vacancy at the super 8 which was priced the same but offered more
- Leon (6/5): Okay - It was quiet and comfortable
- Leon (6/5): Comfortable - Nice and quiet.
- Not Provided (4/5): - The bathroom wasn't big enough to whip a cat in. It smelled like someone had been smoking in there. They need to upgrade the hotel all together. I booked it on line and when they found out I had two kids they charged us $35 more. Unless this is the one and only hotel available we won't stay again. The location was close to shopping center and food.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Rudest place I ever stayed!!!!! - They were rude at check in towels looked as if they had not been washed it smelled bottom line worst hotel experience I have ever had everything was nasty would not recommend to anyone ever
- Verified traveler (4/5): Never again - The staff was beyond rude upon arrival to check in. I was appalled at the treatment. Implied a 9 year child could not stay without charging us more. The reservation was made for 2 adults and one child. It was the only hotel available. The kids were there for a football tournament but were told if anyone was in anyone else's room, they would be kicked out of the hotel. The rooms are terrible and dirty. The kids had a great time anyway.
- Bryan (6/5): Decent, inexpensive hotel - Booked the hotel to attend the NASCAR race at Bristol. It was a long drive to the track (1hr 15 min excluding event traffic) and there is not much around as far as restaurants, etc. However, it was cheap and quiet. Certainly not a nice hotel, but exceeded my expectations for the low price and there were no problems at all with my reservation or my stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was fair
- Chelsea (6/5): Call to confirm - If booking online for same day, be sure to call and confirm the reservation with the hotel. The front desk clerk didn't check the online bookings and the room that we reserved was given to a walk in patron so we were given a different room configuration than we were expecting.
- n (2/5): Terrible - Locked us out of our room - We were locked out of our room with our pets inside and. They would not unlock the door until arrangements to the pre-agreed upon contract were "updated". Finally were able to get our pets and go to another hotel.
This hotel was dirty and smelly. I would not recommend it to anyone.
- traveler (2/5): Oh god - No phone in room, no vending machines no coffee, ancient mattress, slept on top of bed covers, horrible furniture, owner was very nice though.
- Nascar Fan (8/5): Great place to stay - Friendly staff, nice big room and great value for money.
- Verified traveler (6/5): This hotel is convenient to Buchanan County - I had an interview in Buchanan County. This was in general proximity to Buchanan and allowed the opportunity for one to have a feel for the environment surrounding the area. This room featured a comfortable bed. The room I had was non-smoking. One thing the owner should probably safeguard against is smoking in the office area. I am smoke sensitive with asthma. The smoke is something which impacts me even beyond the room.
I could tell that there was pride in the property. Across from this Inn, there was another lodge where this definitely was not the case. The ball and flapper unit would dislodge from the commode when I flushed however, this is something which I am sure was going to be corrected as it was mentioned and their was a desire to please. Also, the shower curtain needed some maintenance. This was a place that featured a well maintained bed, clean towels, and a secure door which locked tightly. I would feel comfortable staying there a night or two. The cleanliness could be enhanced for sure, but that is something that I believe is one of their goals.
My stay was enjoyable. The price was just right. The staff knew kindness.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very old and dirty - Didn't like it very old the towels clean but worn out. The carpet has stain
- Coal Industry consultant (6/5): Over night stay - I was in this area for business and just needed a place for a good night's sleep without the frills. This motel fit the bill perfectly. The only thing I would suggest for a motel that only charged in the $50 range for a room is to upgrade the towels & wash cloths and then it would be really difficult to argue with the value. The man running the motel deserves a rating of 20 on a 1-10 scale. He is so nice and accommodating. I will definitely stay at this motel again when I'm in the area for business. Don't expect a Holiday Inn for $50 and you'll be pleased too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Really good value - Too bad there's not a lot of places to eat out in Claypool Hill
- Robin (6/5): For the town, it's a good hotel. - It's a small, older, but nice hotel. No breakfast, but the owner welcomed me to the coffee maker.
- Anonymous (2/5): This Motel Is Awful - This motel was horrible.I was not even allowed to take a bath...there was no drain stopper and the management said they only allowed 2 gallons of water per room so I couldn't take a bath.the room was dirty and had an awful odor.I would reccomend you take this business off your list.
