Stevens (1/5): Worst hotel stay ive ever had - It was a decent enough hotel i guess. The staff was rude, unhelpful and dishonest. I was over charged $500, for damage and cleaning fees when there was no damage fone at all and rooms were not overly messy. We stayed in one room for 2 nights, it was not the room i booked, i booked and paid for a room with 2 bathrooms(we needed a bathtub) and a full kitchen, room had 1 bathroom, no tub and half kitchen. Twice staff members told me i was lieing and there was.2 bathrooms, so they weren't going to fix my reservation. I was told i could get a cooktop to use ro cook. We needed to stay another night and decided to just stay wherew we were, i thought someone called and paid for thw night, when i went to get a new key that nifht nothing was said about oweing money. I asked girl at desk for a cooktop and she OFFERED to upgrade me to room i originally reserved at no charge, it was late, but we have small kids so decided to take it for the tub. So we did leave first room in a rush, but it was in no way "trashed"like houskeeping claimed esp $250 worth!!!! There definitely were no damages! The morning we left i was rudely tolc that i had to stop at desk before leaving. When i did i was informed room had not been paid for, so i paid for it then. The next day my sons card, the card that paid for first 2 nights, was charged $250, the day afcter that my card the card used to pay for the upgraded room was charged $455!!!!.... We are both still overdrafted and bills tht were too come out of a accounts arent getting paid, its very bad for both of us and for no reason!!!!! I went in on Aug 13th to take to manager on duty, he was the only staff member throughout the whole stay who was polit and seemed helpful. He hadnt checked to see if room had been paid for though and went by a note left tht i didnt pay, when he looksd it up on computer he saw i paid before we left. He informed me the girl who upgraded me only did becaise i demanded it, i did not, why would i on the last night at 10 pm!

Laura (8/5): - Hotel room was very clean, the facility is a little confusing to navigate. An exit was market with a stairs placard, and our room was advertised as a queen bed, but it was a full bed.

I went down and they sent me to another room that wasn’t ready to stay in. Finally got me in a different suite the 3rd time. The hotel smells like cigarettes, weed and animal urine. The last room we stayed in was the cleanest out of the 3 we were sent to, but still not lovely.

jennagQ8514EB (8/5): Pleasant stay - We stayed overnight in Williston choosing this one for its price and relatively good reviews. The room was extremely spacious with even a separate bedroom. Only problem was I booked a double queen room and we only had one queen bed so we had to use the pull-out couch bed which had no linens. We just pulled the extra linens and pillows from the one queen bed for the kids to use on the pull-out. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay. There were some obvious stains on the carpet throughout the room but otherwise the room was clean. The fitness area is in a weird spot depending on which side of the hotel you’re staying in. There’s a Chinese buffet restaurant like right in the middle of the hotel so we had to go through it to get to the fitness room. It was a little weird. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked. Honestly probably one of the better breakfasts we’ve had at a hotel in a long while.
Shelly (2/5): - To make a long story short kept getting locked out of room because card kept demagnetizing and it was a long walk every time I had to go back to the desk to get it charged. Staff was untrained, unhappy seemed to me (I would be too if I worked there) really strange room arrangement not what was presented at booking. No snacks in the lobby area completely bare! Rooms were old out of date run down.We finally took a early checkout (at a fee) and went next door for the rest of our stay and that was a much, much better option for the same money! Do yourself a favor and do the same this property has clearly given up on providing a decent place to stay.

Our room had stained and dirty floors (grime was built up along flooring seams) which calls into question the rest of the space. There was also grime along the shower seams. The continental breakfast was certainly not what was pictured in the ad; they were out of milk (when someone finally came around, she was genuinely confused as to where to find more), the cereal decanter was empty, the "hot" food was stale.

Sean (10/5): Clean and spacious - Due to a blizzard knocking out power for an unknown extended period of time, we had to book a room and chose Clarion based on the low rates & larger room sizes. We went with a suite that also had a kitchen/kitchenette so we had some extra room for our kiddos to play. The room was decent, the kitchen was functional, but it could use a fee more pans and cooking utensils. We ended up grsving some from our house since we knew wed be staying awhile. Other than that it was pretty great.

When you laid down for the first little while it was good, but later in the night it got a little uncomfortable. It was cool to have the stove microwave and fridge in the room! I love that! I will be staying here again.

Megen (8/5): Overall experience was great 😊 (very comfy bed) - Long story short- bed extremely comfortable, parking is not very convenient, and the inside of the building has a really weird layout. BUT my overall experience was great. I was surprised that I basically got a 2 bedroom suite and it was the same price as a regular room. If I had known it was going to be that huge I would have just gotten the regular room but no complaints I’ll just know what to expect next time. I was kind of bummed that there wasn’t a bathtub but not a huge deal. And the parking was probably the worst thing about this place, for some reason they have a TON of handicapped parking spots which gives regular people a very limited amount of parking spots that are near the front entrance and also it’s very much like a maze compared to almost any hotel I have stayed at. Unfortunately, the front desk wasn’t very informative but was very nice regardless. Oh and I stayed on the 2nd floor and I was surprised of how high the ceilings were, very, very spacious.

Russ (10/5): Best place to stay in Williston - I come to Williston ND for work about 12 months out of the year. I usually don't stay at Clarion because of the price, but with Corona virus slowing everything down prices of the high end hotels have come down quite a bit. I can easily say this is the best hotel in Williston hands down. probably the most comfortable bed I have ever had at a hotel ever, super quiet, and I didn't even have to leave the property to get a great meal at the Chinese buffet built in.

fotballover2 (2/5): WOW - My husband and I stayed at the Home Place Lodge and had a eye opening experience. We had a main floor room to where we could look out into the parking lot. I opened our window to get some fresh air and all we could smell is marijauna. I seen a lady and a man standing near the bushes by our window smoking something in a pipe. I went down to let the front desk know...and the woman and man came walking in....and then went into the office. I come to find out that this is your general manager and the guy was maintenance. The front desk lady was so ashamed about it that I think she could have crawled under a rock. We left and went to another hotel and we pulled ALL of our reservations going forward. Nice to know that the management is high while working.....NEVER AGAIN will we stay there.

Vacation57695225427 (8/5): Good for extended stay - This hotel is great if you plan to stay multiple nights or are bringing a family. The rooms are basically like small apartments (the building I guess was supposed to be an assisted living facility before becoming a hotel). Clean and friendly with descent breakfast.Pros - reasonable rate, spacious rooms (we had the 2 room suite which was basically a 2 bed, 2 bath apt with pull out couch in the living room), close to large park/playground for kids, rooms come stocked to make your own mealsCons - housekeeping (we stayed 3 nights with 1 housekeeper only after we called to get more shampoo and garbage bags), layout (breakfast is at one end, main door is another, fitness center at another, the only ice maker is locked in the breakfast room after 9 am).
Excursion54836791138 (6/5): CLEAN - the place is clean and reliable. the front desk folks are great and the staff is top notch. The breakfast is barely edible. Go off site for a real breakfast otherwise you wuill be trying to digest the make belief eggs all day. they need to give the cook something to work with in the morning! It's still the best option in Williston.
Saskheat (4/5): Plagued By Cleanliness Issues - I realize North Dakota is struggling with a skilled labor shortage, and that this hotel is in the oil patch where people get dirty when they work, but this is no excuse for the condition of this hotel. This place is only about 5 years old and is on the verge of becoming run down. The corporate headquarters needs to do a personal inspection here and get them back up to standards. We stayed here on two different occasions a week apart in two different suites, having prepaid our rooms over the internet. We needed a room with 3 separate beds and this was also a challenge in Williston, so we were pretty much stuck with this place. The hotel from outside looks really nice and is in a new industrial park along the Dakota Parkway, but that’s where the charm ends. The rugs in both our room were disgusting. Stains everywhere. I always do a bed bug check with a flashlight before we move into a room. I saw a large build up of hair under and behind the beds. I don’t think it had ever been vacuumed…EVER. In our second room I found a Ziploc bag with old spoilt fruit in it between the night stand and wall. There were some personal items from a previous guest left in one of the dresser drawers. Under the hide a bed mattress in the 1st room there were so many crumbs and hair that it made my skin crawl. In the second room we found a chap stick tube under the hide a bed mattress. One of the rooms had a 24”x24”hole in the wall behind a door (not sure how housekeeping missed that one). Our second room had no towels in either of the bathrooms. Both times there was no linen for the hideabed. At least I anticipated there being no linen for it when I checked in on the second occasion and asked for it at the front desk. I got the linen, but was advised that they were out of pillows. What? A Hotel OUT of pillows? Apparently they were not only out of pillows but out of do not disturb signs. SO I had to make my own out of their hotel map. This is one of the very few places in the hundreds we have stayed at over the years, that my wife made me peel back the sheets during our inspection because we were just in that much doubt that housekeeping might not have changed them. Thankfully the sheets had been changed and were clean; but it’s a bad feeling when you look thru a place and immediately get that doubt. The beds were the extra firm variety and not very comfortable. The linens were average. Our second suite was huge and had a full kitchen with a mini stove 22” complete with oven. Our first suite doubled as the disabled person room and was a good size, but in full need of a re-flooring. The cleaning issues in the room paled in comparison to the common areas of the hotel. The rugs in far hallways were simply put GROSS. There was gum stuck in one spot right on the rug and left there to get ground in, collecting more soil. Any other place would have made the attempt to get it out before it turned into a black mashed in silver dollar. I saw used Q tips sitting on top of one of the ledges in a stairwell. In the morning there were empty beer bottles all over the lawn at the rear exit where the smoking area was. Oh and by the way the rear entrance door was out of adjustment by a good ¾” preventing it from EVER closing. Kinda defeats the idea of having a scan card to get into the building. This door has obviously been like this for a long time due to the paint marks from the door repeatedly slamming into the frame, so your personal security is of no concern here. Im sure they will be quick to say that door issue must have just happened. The garbage cans were overflowing. The lack of ownership over the condition of this place by staff is simply astounding. We noticed a car in the parking lot the last day, that looked like it had someone living out of it. Im sure their open wifi connection is well known to the low lives in town. At least the car had a note advising of a pending removal on it, so somebody at least noticed it. My final grievance is that they do not have any ice machines. I had to ask for ICE and was led into a locked banquet room far in the back to get some, which at least I got some, so thanks for that helpful staff member. Heres the quick stats: Curb Appeal: 9/10 General Property Cleanliness: 2/10 Room Décor: 7/10 Bed Comfort & Quality: 1/10 Linen: 5/10 Housekeeping: 1/10 Internet Speed/Access: 10/10 General Quietness: 9/10 Safe Atmosphere: 4/10 Staff Friendliness: 10/10 Parking: 6/10 Location relative to services: 7/10 Other than the very large suites, there isn’t much redeeming about this place. Management is allowing staff to literally run it into the ground. This speaks to volumes as to what you can expect if you really had a problem at this place. The staff Bernice and Kelly were so helpful, friendly and professional. We not only rented a room for 4 days, but the conference room for 2 days. We were extremely happy with our experience at Home Place. Will most certainly choose Home Place again!
Airstreamyogi (4/5): Cold shower advocates will love it. - If you want a warm shower, on the other hand, perhaps stay elsewhere. For a business travel friendly hotel, you’d think they’d treat people like business travelers, but no, not really. The desire to be clean before you spend a day presenting to a room full of strangers is not important enough to warrant a shrug of disinterest from the staff. I had to have a sponge bath in the sink first thing in the morning, and when I returned at noon to try again, still icy cold. “He said he fixed it,” says the front desk. I guess that must be good enough.
luvchevys21 (6/5): Fair stay - Check in was a little rough because the girl working spoke so fast and wouldn't hold the map still to see where she was talking about. Breakfast was 6-8 am so we missed it. Room was nice with comfortable beds. Room was pretty clean except stained carpets. Morning staff was more friendly. They could really use maps or better signs in halls
roaminthaworld (8/5): Great hotel! - Stayed here for work and the rooms were comfortable and clean! The hotel staff were nice and knowledgeable! The rooms were spacious and the location was nice. There were two restaurants within walking distance. The only issue I had was with breakfast. The front desk told me it was served from 6am-9am but when I went down at 815am the lady told me it closed at 8am. I wasnt able to eat. Other than that one issue everything else was awesome!
clittlelikker (4/5): Very disappointed - The cable channels were nothing but infomercials! The good channels were blocked!! The worst selection ever, couldn't even get music, or heck couldn't even get South Park, LAME The breakfast wasn't breakfast, it was horrible and I didn't want to sit on the chairs they were so stained up and filthy they were disgusting! They really neglected this hotel. The price was outrageous for a neglected hotel and lame breakfast!
kellyhM2744QF (10/5): Great place to stay! - My family and I are here for business and habe the opportunity to stay at this hotel. The staff have been extremely helpful! Anything you need all you have to do is ask! They accommodate animals as well, which is good since we have a dog with us! The hotel is very clean and inviting! Every morning they serve a breakfast that is off the chain!! I will be staying here again!!
938deepn (10/5): Amazing stay - I stayed here for 2 weeks, big spacious room with a Kitchenette and ample parking. They have an in-house guest laundry and a chinese restaurant operating in the hotel, I didn't try the food though. 2 restaurant are in walking distance. The people on the desk were very helpful. I would highly recommend this place.
carlyg326 (10/5): Best hotel in Williston - Our room was a suite with two bedroom areas. With a kitchenette, it was perfect if we would have been staying longer than a night. Very spacious and clean in the suite itself. The hotel was in tip top shape as well. Really enjoyed staying at this hotel and look forward to staying again in the future. If there was a complaint, it would have been the shower head - didn't have too much pressure behind it, but that wasn't even a big deal.
pettiswife (8/5): Great place to stay! - We've stayed here twice in the last week and were impressed both times! Huge 2 room suites both nights, comfortable beds, large kitchen with full size fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee pot. Bathrooms are also large with big walk in showers. Staff is very nice and friendly, and the price is unbeatable!! We'll continue to stay here when we're in the area!

Great price on hotels.com. Great location there is a steak house right by it and convenice store across the street.
Grant_MacTavish (10/5): Great place to stay - We spent one night at Home Place Lodge and Suites which was great! The room was actually a suite with a seperate bedroom, kitchen eating area and a living room. The room was clean with all of the amenities you could ask for. They also have a great hot breakfast. Great rate, friendly and welcoming staff from check in to check out. Kevin was super friendly and helpful. Great stay and I highly recommend this property.
