Guest Reviews
- Joan W (8/5): - Fine
- mara (10/5): - This is a no frills hotel and very budget friendly. The hotel and room was extremely clean. The management was superb! David was very hospitable and helpful. We have stayed at other hotels in the area but this is our new “go-to” for sure!
- Norman (8/5): - The property is a bit dated, but it is very clean and quiet with an exceptional staff.
- Danielle (8/5): - Nice place for a night stay. Bummed pool was out of order.
- Rodger (10/5): - The pool and spa were out of order and the carpets in the room were old, dirty and in need of replacement. Check in staff was excellent and inquired if we needed anything often.
- Larsson (8/5): - Convenient and priced right, beautiful surrounding area
- matthew (10/5): 5 stars - Amazing spot to stay. Great staff, friendly, accommodating, and good coffee!
- Doug (4/5): - The staff was very friendly. The room we stayed in had a mold smell, the carpet was very old (it had cigarette burn marks in it around the bed. One of the 2 beds was broke we wouldn’t sleep on it. The water in the bath would not turn off.
- Nancy (10/5): - Clean room, friendly and helpful staff. Convenient to restaurants and shopping.
- Thomas (10/5): - The rooms are clean, look new, with fridge and microwave. Near lots of business and scenic places, like The Royal Gorge.
- David (10/5): - Best value. Clean with stay again
- Sandra (10/5): - Clean, friendly, & comfortable
- Pat (4/5): - Needs to be updated
- Jeremy (8/5): - Everything about our stay was great. The front desk person was extremely pleasant. Our only complaint is we reserved the room for the pool and jacuzzi which aren’t operational currently.
- Mark (10/5): - The property was clean and kept up. The room was a bit dated but well maintained. The staff was very nice and professional. Overall great value for the money.
- RON (10/5): - It is a nice motel, especially for the price.
- jenifer elaine (10/5): - I loved everything about the people and the property. , was affordable too.I hope to be coming back as soon as possible. Perfect location for me.
- Lisa (4/5): - The man at the frount deck was very friendly. The property is old and no frills. The pool was out of order and appeared to have been for some time. (Id call first) I did think the beds we uncomfortable.. extra firm. But the sheets and towels were clean. It was just average but ok for a couple nights stay for the price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean, friendly, family owned hotel - We stayed one night. We were remembered from staying there a year ago. That says something. Yes, it needs updating, but if you want a clean, affordable place to stay, you won't be disappointed.
- Jane (10/5): - Staff was friendly
- Terence (10/5): Great spot when in Canon City - Staff was great,.... especially David!
- Jane (10/5): - Staff was frie
- DOUG (10/5): - Great place friendly staff highly recommended
- Craig (10/5): - It was clean and the price was reasonable. We were going to be a late arrival so we called to confirm that they would hold the room. They were great about our late arrival and were very welcoming when we got there.
- Herbert (10/5): Recommend positive - Great people, quiet and clean. Convenient location
- Dick (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff - nice place to stay
- David (10/5): - Great value and clean.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Extremely clean and quiet nice room. Only thing that was missing was the pool and hot tub were not working.
- James (10/5): Great service - Our host was very helpful and friendly. Perfect for the money.
- Melisa (4/5): - There was several aspects to my low ratings. First the air conditioning did not keep up with cooling the room, it was miserable. The bed was very uncomfortable. The pool was out of order.
- Nancy (4/5): Cheap and clean - The room was clean, but the beds were quite hard and the room smelled quite strongly of cleaning fluid or antiseptic. I'm glad it was cleaned, but the smell was overpowering. I have asthma and wasn't sure I'd be able to remain in the room. Fortunately, after opening the window and airing it out, it became bearable.
- Stacey (10/5): - Great place great price great people
- Tera (10/5): - Definitely an older hotel but it was very clean and the staff at check-in was very friendly and helpful.
- Paul (10/5): - They are always super friendly but even more friendly this time if that was even possible!
- keith (10/5): - Good place to stay
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bed was hard. Coffee at breakfast was cold
- JOSEPH (8/5): - Good breakfast
- Steve (8/5): - Would have been nice to have some sort of breakfast options rather than one dispenser of coffee in the lobby
- Christie (4/5): - Hole in bathroom door, toilet clogged, sink faucet hard to open, dirty/dingy carpet, bed frame sub par, peep hole in door stuffed with TP, people smoking at entrance.
- SCOTT (10/5): - Friendly checkin . Always nice to see smiles and positive vibes. Thank you. Older motel, so hopefully you can update the rooms soon.
- Mary (10/5): well managed property but not a great nights sleep - I give this motel 5 stars mostly because the staff /owners were so friendly and helpful. The property itself was clean, parking was easy. We were gladly given more pillows and towels. But the beds were a bit uncomfortable. And it was 90 degrees outside and the and the A/C unit was loud and didn't keep the room cool.
- Laura (8/5): - The staff was very friendly!
- Constance (8/5): - Staff was wonderful.
- SYED IAN (6/5): - Staff was very nice and helpful. Property is very dated. But clean-ish. Good price. But honestly would stay somewhere else if i were in town again.
- Crystal (6/5): Get what you pay for - We needed a cheap place overnight. This was ot. Srmtaff was very friendly. Nothing special about the room. Shower head dripped all night
- Bradley (10/5): Fun surprise budget hotel - This place is 100% brand standard for a Budget Host, it's like a portal to the early 90s. Clean, cute and fun.
- kenneth (8/5): - Nice and safe place to stay while visiting Cañon City. Staff are amazing and work hard to make sure everything is nice and clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was good for the price. Close to resturants and stores.
- Sharon (8/5): - Decent price, clean and easy to access. Owner was super friendly and helpful!
- Michael (10/5): - Great place
- Mark (8/5): - Excellent staff. older building clean and good value
- Donald (6/5): - The host was most welcoming and friendly! The only amenities were ice, coffee and Wi-Fi. The room was clean, however, it was ready for a major upgrade. The wall sockets were all loose, the bathtub was in poor shape as was some of the furniture. For a budget price it was ok.
- Mary (10/5): Kind people - This is a great clean hotel and the service is great. We enjoy staying here.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Spend a few dollars more somewhere else. - The place is adequately clean with a very nice front desk guy, but the very basic hotel is old, dated, and has too-noisy plumbing. The Wi-Fi is sketchy: constant buffering made video or TV impossible.
- KATRINA (8/5): - Everything was good. The Pillows were flat and small.
- Nicole (4/5): - This is really no-frills. Not sure how the rating is so high here. Staff was nice. Free parking. Big fridge. Good wi-fi
Place was clean enough, though old and outdated so it felt dirty. Spring mattresses. Shower did not work, or was super low pressure. Carpet old. Smelled of incense. Only coffee for breakfast. No hygiene stuff besides soap.
- Sarah (10/5): - Staff was so friendly! Great for a one night stay, two even.
- morgan (8/5): - Very convenient location. Super responsive and friendly staff. Room was really clean and good size with a larger refrigerator.
- Verified traveler (8/5): You get what you pay for - The price was right for what you get. It’s definitely a dated place in need of upgrades, but it suited our needs just fine. The wifi was spotty, smart TV worked about half the time (due to wifi issues), the plumbing is loud, and the furnishings are in need of replacement (especially the carpet). However, we just needed a place to crash at the end of the day, and the beds were comfy, the shower had great water pressure, the AC worked, and they allowed pets (brought our pup). And the gentleman working the front desk was super kind and helpful. But again, for the price, it was juuust fine.
- Audrey (10/5): Nice and friendly - Hotel is run by a mother and her son. Both are very nice and friendly. The mother planted all the flower pots in front of the hotel by hand which is very impressive. The son is very nice and can answer any questions about the town and can explain how to get the TV to work, since it was not that easy to figure out.
- John (10/5): - Best "bang for the buck" in the Royal Gorge Region.
Unless you need tons of amenities, this is a good basic room for the night. A little worn around the edges, but a great value.
- warren (8/5): - The price was right. Didn’t service breakfast but we like our own coffee and this wasn’t important to us.
- Bill (8/5): - Quiet,and helpful staff
- Don (10/5): Great staff - David at the front desk was friendly, courteous, and helpful.
- Ellen (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay.
- Melissa (10/5): - The owner was super nice! The property was very clean! Would Highly recommend staying here if you are on a budget!
- Ellen (10/5): - David and the staff were so kind and helpful. I had a room facing the back and it was really quiet and peaceful.
- Tiffaniee (10/5): - This is the best hotel in canon
- William (10/5): - Nice place
- Rachael (2/5): No thanks - Not allowed to have company? Weird! Beds were hard. Just not a pleasant time
- David (10/5): Exceptional Service! - The staff is awesome. David is such a good genuine person and is so helpful and attentive.
- J (8/5): - It was ok
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Dave at the front desk was very knowledgeable about the area. Gave us ideas for attractions and places to eat
- Monica (10/5): - .
- Desira (10/5): - Staff was exceptionally friendly.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We've stayed at better rooms for less dollars. The bed wasn't real welcoming, ( it slept like a cheap mattress). The AC didn't cool off the room well (the room kept getting warm, and we kept lowering the temp during the night). The room was clean, but cheaply furnished and bedding. No breakfast or coffee in room. Coffee was in the lobby only.. the refrig and micro worked well. The room was overpriced. The Ck in was great...very friendly helpful . Probably won't stay again.
- Nancy (8/5): - breakfast would have been great but they did have coffee
- Rita (8/5): - Air didn’t work like it should. Other than that was perfect.
- Michelle (8/5): - Convenient. Clean. Could use better pillows.
- Catherine (10/5): - Great customer service
- Kimberly (10/5): - We have not stayed at a Budget Inn since the early 1990s and I was leery what I would find. I shouldn't have worried! The hotel is easily accessible off of Highway 50, right behind the Burger King and KFC. The parking lot is spacious and you are able to unload under a carport.
David behind the desk is a treasure as he recommended several places to eat, was concerned about other minor issues we had and otherwise was quite pleasant
There is coffee in the lobby, no other food.
Our room was pretty warm when we arrived and we never did figure out that it was controlled by a remote until an hour before we left. But that's not the hotel's fault.
If you're looking for a family friendly base for exploring Cañon City give this hotel.a chance.
- craig (10/5): Great stay great deal - I would hughly recommend this hotel. It is nice and comfy. Good location. Great service.
- Larry (10/5): - Good place to stay
- brian (8/5): decent - decent place to sleep while passing thru
- Jeff (4/5): - Staff is great. Can tell they try to do what they can (little things) to beautify the property. Only so much you can do with 20-25 year old carpet and beds.
- David (2/5): Loud hotel - The noise was terrible.
- Wilma (8/5): - The staff was very helpful. Anytime we needed something for the room we were able to get it easily. The staff was very friendly. The room for the most part was clean except for the fridge. There was food left in it from the previous guest. as soon as this was brought to the staffs attention, it was addressed. The window was broken and the smoke detector had a plastic bag over it. This was brought to their attention as we left. There was no breakfast and I felt that this was something that should be addressed as it would help in having more guest.
- Mary (10/5): Lovely Hotel - Older hotel, but clean and wonderful staff. Very accommodating. Kids loved the pool and husband enjoyed the hot tub. Great place to stay and not far from attractions.
- scott (8/5): - Man at front desk was very friendly and helpful!
- Ava (8/5): - Very clean
Friendly staff
Could use updating and better towels
- Robert (8/5): - David at front desk was very friendly, helpful and polite, aware of what was happening in his area. Rooms were clean and spacious, a/c worked well, wi fi was weak. Location is convenient to food and local activities.
- Camillo (10/5): - The staff was excellent. David was very friendly and helpful. The morning coffee was great!
The hotel is dated but it was very clean and comfortable and we were able to have our dog with us!
Thank you for making our visit great!!! We would stay again.
- Brian (6/5): - David at the front desk was very friendly and helpful … the hot tub was out of order
- Cassandra (10/5): - The gentleman at the desk was so kind and helpful. Thank you!
- Amber (10/5): - We drove as far as we cared too from Kansas City and decided to sleep here overnight before leaving early in the morning for Whitewater rafting the Royal Gorge. We were not looking for anything fancy, we just needed beds to sleep in. David at the front desk was incredible. Our mini fridge wasn’t working; we didn’t care, but we wanted him to know because of how nice and insistent he was to let him know of something was wrong. He said he’d fix it and we assured him we didn’t need it fixed (we used the forge in our kids room). He brought up a working mini fridge within ten minutes. He’s the reason for the 5 star review. I’ll gladly stay here again
- Susan (10/5): - Great people, very helpful and friendly.
- Michael (2/5): - The staff was very welcoming. Unfortunately, the place has not been upgraded in probably 30 years. The beds were old, hard. Worse night sleep I've ever had... and that's saying a lot! The pillows sub-par. Outlets hidden or so old that you had to prop the cord to assure they wouldn't fall out. Again, staff was very accommodating but the place needs a major facelift and TLC.
- Denise (10/5): - Nice staff
- Darcy (8/5): Top notch customer service - The hotel, room, parking lot was clean. We couldn't get our TV to work, and it was replaced within ten minutes. Top notch customer service. The only thing I would say negatively is that the mattresses weren't very comfortable, but I would definitely stay there again.
- David (8/5): - Perfect for spending the night sleeping and close to the Royal Gorge!
