• Marcus (6/5): Dreary Room - Requested room with a sea view, which it had from a roof window. But you could only see the view if you stood right in front of the window. Not worth the supplement. Plus the noise of the rain on the roof window woke you up during the night. The bathroom was compact but refurbished and was very good. Room was old fashioned and tired. Would not stay again.

• Mathieu (8/5): Parfait pour un petit we découverte de la vieille ville et de l'aquarium. - Accueil chaleureux, explications claires, une chambre spacieuse au 4ème afin d'avoir une vue sur la mer. Petit déjeuner suffisant pour un hôtel sans cuisines. Des pains frais et variés, des minis viennoiseries, moult jus de fruit... La hauteur du balcon, dommage de devoir rester debout pour admirer l'horizon. Un balcon en transparence serait top. Les portes des autres chambres qui se referment par un claquement fort.

• Samantha (8/5): - Goede locatie aan het strand van boulogne-sur-mer. Binnen loopafstand van winkels, uitjes en veel meer! Het matras lag los op het bed waardoor met het slapen de matrasbedekking los kwam en het matras zelf ook bijna van het bed viel.
• Elise (6/5): Teleurgesteld - Propere badkamer met een hele goeie douche. Bij het binnenkomen van onze kamer, werden we begroet door een vreselijke stank. Bleek afkomstig te zijn van in de badkamer. Poetspersoneel plaatste dekseltje niet goed op siphon. De matras was helemaal doorlegen. 1 nacht zeer slecht geslapen. De volgende ochtend aangekaart bij de receptie. Gelukkig was er een zelfde kamertype vrij en konden we wisselen. In de nieuwe kamer aangekomen, werden we helaas door dezelfde stank begroet. Alweer zélf opgelost en gemeld bij de receptie. Ze zouden het poetspersoneel inlichten. Matras was beter. Wij kozen voor kamer met zeezicht en balkon. Het balkon was hoog afgewerkt, waardoor je zittend de zee niet ziet. Bovendien stonden er geen stoelen. Je kon er wel met je armen op leunen en staand van het zicht genieten. Het ontbijt is basic. Geen eitjes, geen verse producten.

• Barbara (8/5): - Great location, opposite to the beach, next to Nausicaa center. Very nice, helpful staff. Comfy bed, clean bathroom. Breakfast. The quality was great but almost everything was with sugar, even bread. Plenty of jams, honeys, peanut butter, muesli, yoghourts. If somebody doesn't like sugar or can't eat sugar will have a problem.
• Peter (7/5): Gut für einen Kurzurlaub am Meer. - Das Zimmer hatte Ausblick auf das Meer. Die spontane Buchung des Frühstücks war kein Problem. Das Deluxe-Zimmer hatte einen Balkon zum Meer. Der war allerdings sehr klein. Das Parkhaus, mit dem das Hotel eine Vereinbarung hat, war in beträchtlicher Entfernung fußläufig erreichbar.

• Ella (8/5): We enjoyed our one night stay at Opal Inn, loving the view - soaking it in. - We enjoyed the balcony and the sea view very much. The room had all the necessities for a short trip. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was well renovated. The room was slightly too crammed, however, all the necessities where there so I don't know how else you could've organised it better without ending up making the room larger.

• Alan (6/5): Good basic hotel for short stay in Boulogne - Good location. Good breakfast. Advertise check in was from 3pm. On arrival, our room had been rented out for the afternoon to someone else in connection with local music festival and we were asked to return after 6pm. Room very basic.

• Lee (6/5): - When we arrived I had to wait at reception for a while as there wasn’t anyone in attendance. There seemed to be only one person who did everything. The toilet in our room was badly stained in the bottom and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. I complained to the person on the desk and showed her a photo I had taken. She said she would go and clean it whilst we were out. When we returned it had been cleaned but was still dirty at the back which was visible. The following morning I took a shower, I closed the sliding door fully. When I looked down, the water had completely overflowed and saturated the bathroom floor and seeped out onto the bedroom carpet, so much so we had to use all of the towels to soak it up. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told to send an email.
• Lavinia (8/5): the area is amazing, the proximity of the hotel to everything was excellent - very good breakfast, clean room, friendly staff, location amazing, just across the beach the triple room was a little bit small, and the couch we had to close during the day for better space usage, there is no parking of the hotel, but we were aware of this when booking, in the end we parked in the public parking across the street, but as it was the closest to the beach, it was a bit expensive

• Barry (4/5): shouldnt be open without hotel facilities available - The location is on the sea front opposite a pay to use car park.very limited on street parking outside the hotel,even out of season..The receptionist spoke English but was up agaainst it with builders all around as the kitchen area was in bits being rebuilt-i hope! using the dead season the hotel couldnt offer any meal except continental breakfast and the only walking distance restuarant was a £100 a meal option.Driving elsewhere cost me the parking space. I can imagine it more feasible as a summer stay but cost in paying for car parking
• Gill (6/5): Boulogne was pleasantly surprising. The beach was lovely and the old town very attractive - The room was clean but small. The staff were helpful and friendly We paid extra for a room with a sea view but the window was tiny. You could only see the sea if you stood right at the window
• marie (2/5): mécontente - J'ai été contrainte d'annuler ma réservation car ma fille a été hospitalisée en urgence. L'Hôtel n'a pas appliqué sa politique d'annulation et m'a débité mon entier séjour alors que uniquement 50% devait être retenus par l'hotel conformément à la politique d'annulation.
• Richard (8/5): - A practical hotel next to the beach. This is a good option for an overnight stop to rest during a trip to/from the UK. Wake up to a good breakfast and the sound of the sea, then continue your journey. Very friendly and helpful staff.
• GERARD (10/5): - Venus à Nausicaà, nous avions choisi un hôtel à proximité. Nous nous sommes garés en face de l'hôtel sur le parking de Nausicaà et avons décidé d'y rester. La chambre était petite, certes, mais fonctionnelle, avec tout dedans, propre, sympathique et l'ambiance décontractée. A revoir,donc.

It was alright but nothing special for this price. - Location was indeed with view on the sea and you just had to cross the road to get tot the sea. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Room was very small. The pictures online made the rooms look bigger but ours was very small. We were also right next to the cabinet where the staff kept the cleaning supplies and such so every morning at around 7:30 - 8am we would hear the cleaning ladies chatting and cleaning through the very this walls. The mattress was also not very comfortable. We both had back pains and felt like the mattresses were quite old. Breakfast was OK but for 16 euros per person per morning we expected something more. Overall the room was very small for the price we paid. This was kind off our biggest problem. We felt that for what we paid for room + breakfast we did not get our moneys worth.
• Jill (7/5): OK for one night - The hotel was on the seafront near the sealife centre. There were several restaurants near by and the promenade was a nice place to walk by the sea. The staff were friendly and there was a lift. The room was at the back o the hotel and was quite small and dark. The toilet was positioned in a way which made it slightly awkward. No tea/coffee facilities in the room.

Niets te doen. De ‘pitoreske’ haven is in verval. Boulogne sur mer is duidelijk in verval. Aquarium Nausicaa was een bezoek waard. Voor de rest, wegblijven.

• Gillian (7/5): A bit expensive for the type of room but the hotel is in a perfect location and great staff - The staff were very friendly and helpful and always available The room was basic with a view of a wall at the rear of the property. For the price we paid it was a bit disappointing. But it was last minute, only for one night and we were out a lot so it certainly wasn't a huge problem for us. The location and staff made up for it!

Standby light on TV was a bit annoying when I was trying to get to sleep. Also TV conked out before the end of a film I was enjoying with Alain Delon. 🙄 These were very minor issues however..

• David (10/5): We needed a hotel close enough to the town centre to make visiting easy, and it was. - The bed was comfortable. The shower was excellent. The room was well sized for two people on a short stay. There were no tea making facilities there, such as a kettle in the room. Also parking was expensive as we had to use the paid parking nearby, which worked out at around £20 a day. So, something to factor in to the overall costs.
• Elizabeth (10/5): Great location, clean and modern with wonderful staff! - What a fantastic hotel. Great location right on the beach and a stone’s throw away from the aquarium. Room was compact, clean and modern. We had a tiny balcony with breathtaking views of the beach and harbor. Very comfortable beds and a large shower. Everything is new and in great shape. The room had a small fridge, coffee/tea maker, hairdryer and air conditioning (which we didn’t use because the room was cool enough). The breakfast was amazing! Bacon, eggs & baked beans (hot) and a great selection of cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, cereals, breads, pastries, fruit juices, hot drinks & fruit. The staff are friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Petit déjeuner excellent avec de bons produits ce qui justifie le prix. La chambre avec vue sur mer est vraiment agréable avec un petit balcon très appréciable. Pour couronner le tout, le personnel est réellement accueillant, disponible et aux petits soins. Bravo
