Guest Reviews
- Mark (10/5): - Great room, clean and recently renovated from the looks of it. Bed was comfortable and the restaurant attached to the hotel was great!
- Jefferson (8/5): - Room is clean.
- Darrell (10/5): - Nice clean updated hotel.
- Gerrit (10/5): - Comfortable room, great beds, clean and enough plug ins. Positive experience!
- Carissa (6/5): - This hotel has clearly had some renovations, but it’s not a full update. The lobby and breakfast area look refreshed, but the rooms still feel dated. The carpet in the room looked worn and gave off that “old hotel” vibe, and the small kitchenette was very basic and outdated.
The room did have a small balcony, which could have been a nice touch, but the ashtray placed on the table made it feel unpleasant to use.
Overall, it’s fine if you just need a place to stay, but if you’re looking for something more modern and comfortable, this might not be the best fit.
- Andrew (8/5): - Good size room with small kitchen facility. On site laundry facilities. Pool under maintenance at the time although option to use facilities at hotel next door was available. Breakfast was good
- Jeff (10/5): - Nice clean hotel. Beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious. Great restaurant attached.
- Katharine (8/5): - The location is very good for Wells Gray Park
- Sandra (10/5): - Clean and quiet
- Jade (8/5): - Great staff and location
- Jennifer (10/5): - I was impressed with how quiet it was( you can't hear upstairs unit or next-door one's) it was clean and staff was friendly.
Great breakfast options every morning. I would definitely stay here again.
- Kelly (10/5): - Staff were so accommodating. The room was clean and bright. Our room had a small kitchen which was so helpful.
- Sandra (6/5): - For the money it was basic - pool wasn’t open, breakfast was mediocre at best - lack of machines and some not functioning - likely won’t stay again
- Greg (10/5): - Property is clean and conveniently on the highway with gas and dining options close by. Gateway Grill is highly recommended for quality of food and friendliness of staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed - For the price per night we were disappointed that the TV and phone weren't working. Also, the pool and pancake machine wasn't working either.
- Neil (8/5): - Fair enough motel , does the job
- Jules (10/5): Good place to stay - We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was nice and clean, and having a kitchen was very convenient for our family. We also liked the two-way access, which made it easy to get around. The on-site restaurant was excellent, with great food and a beautiful view. Highly recommend!
- yan (8/5): Wells Gray stay - Stayed for 4 nights and no real problems. Room was clean and spacious. Laundry room was a bonus too. Restaurant attached and the Hop and Hog nearby both very good. Shame pool not working but could use best western. A great base for Wells Gray Park.
- Brenda (10/5): - The room was unbelievable! Clean, quiet and comfortable. Will definitely stay here again. The only issue we had was the lack of signage to get to the hotel but that was a minor problem. The food at the restaurant was very good and a large portion as well.
- David (10/5): - Staff were excellent, building appears recently renovated, clean. Breakfast was decent, though pancake machine was out of order.
- Angel (2/5): Another family walked into our room - The desk clerk made multiple room keys
And ended up giving them to another family. They opened the door and walked in while our daughter was laying on the bed.
Justin. The manager said he will approve the full refund from you.
Can you please pay the refund as per how I paid.
I’m waiting to hear back from someone at hotels.com as to when this will take place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent stay - Room a good size with kitchen and patio. Pool was shut but had access to best western next door. Breakfast was good selection of hot and cold. Pancake machine was out of order but there were muffins, toast and bagels.
- Tracy (10/5): - Good sized room clean and comfortable
- Lin (10/5): - Super clean. Room was more than we expected
- Dean (4/5): Over-priced - Way over priced. Didn't reduce the price even though the pool wasn't working. Bath faucet dripped. Patio rails were grimy and outside window dirty. Bathroom light switch in a very awkward place under a shelf. Generally under maintained.
- Denise (10/5): Very comfortable for a multi day trip - We were only staying one night but it would be great for multiple night stay.
- Marie-Pierre (10/5): Spacious room - Comfortable stay with a spacious room with a couch and small kitchenette. Balcony facing a quiet area at back.
Breakfast items were limited, but ok.
- Jessica (10/5): - Beautiful view, spacious rooms, great breakfast
- Rico (10/5): - Strategic location.
Place is cozy and clean.
- Pauline (10/5): - We had a very pleasant stay! Great service and all staff were excellent!
- Lynn Louise (10/5): Quality Inn with a flare! - The hotel was amazing; bright, wide hallways, beautiful pictures through the hotel. The breakfast was included and had every you wanted from fresh fruit, pancakes, muffins plus the usual eggs, sausage, and tater tots. Will definitely be back. The onsite restaurant was fantastic! We had an exceptional Cobb salad and Guac chicken burger! Great job ladies!
- linda (10/5): - Beautiful, large lobby, lots of seating, couches to relax and meet up with people, room was very clean and updated, highly recommend
- Bandhna (10/5): - We were a surprised by how nice it was on the inside. The building is older than the hotels close by but the lobby was very nice and clean. Our room was recently renovated so it was clean and spacious and very well done up. Very good hotel.
- Rick (6/5): - Breakfast is not good
- Toni (10/5): - It was a spacious room and very clean. After a long drive it was a great night of rest. Beautiful views from the back and a surprise seating off the room to look at the area!
- Bruce (10/5): Overnighter - Easy to find, great restaurant on site. Rooms were nice. Will stay there again
- Marilyn (4/5): - When we realized an error with the dates we quickly contacted
- Bradley (8/5): - Very clean and renovated. Nice staff.
- Robert (10/5): - Kitchenette was great.
- Todd (8/5): - Staff was very helpful and nice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel showing its age but kept clean.
- Calvin (10/5): - Nicely renovated - beautiful pictures in rooms and hallway - fresh and inviting. Breakfast was delicious and staff was friendly and helpful. Just too bad the pool wasn't up and running.
- Sadia (8/5): - Average
- Valentina (10/5): - We traveled all week and this was the best place we stayed at so far. The lady at the front desk was amazing, we asked for an extra blanket and she brought one to our room in less than 5 minutes. Breakfast was delicious. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Definitely will recommend to friends and family.
- Jin Wook (6/5): - a place for overnight. If you expect little bit updated facilities you are going to be disappointed. 80-90’s style room with quite pricy rate. I spent one night hete but i’d regret to research more before making reservation because BW is located right next builing with updated facilities.
- Jason (2/5): Dirty bed and sheets - We checked in, went to our room and got the pull out bed set up and there was a big bug in the sheets, it had lots of crumbs to eat as the pull out wasent checked in a long time, and the room had a odor to it.
We went to the front desk and told them about it, and we decided to drive the rest of the 6hr drive home. They told us hotels.com would have to do the refund. But it was a lie, as we got a hold pf you guys and they are to give the refund.
- Victor Eddie (8/5): - Amazing housekeeper Laura very nice!
- Jodi (10/5): Great stay - Great stay loved this hotel room 109 with inside out outside acess perfect for bikers . Food at hotel restaurant was amazing . And lots to see and do around there wish could have stayed longer
- Helen (8/5): - Nice hotel
- Kim (10/5): - It's a bargain for the price. Big and clean rooms and near stores and restaurants.
- Serena (10/5): - Friendly
- Danelle (10/5): - I love staying at this motel! It has been recently renovated and the continental breakfast is good. The restaurant makes the best schnitzel you’ll ever eat!
- Claude (8/5): - Nice spot and easy access to wells gray park
- Ivan (10/5): - Excelente!! Desayuno espectacular!!
Habitaciones amplias y cómodas.
- mary (10/5): - Room was clean, large, well equipped. Staff were very friendly; great breakfast included, and lovely restaurant right at the hotel where we had dinner
- Rene (8/5): - Checkin there was an issue with internet which disabled the hotel rep. It was corrected within the hour so we could then checkin.
TV services were interruptive suggesting a problem with their connections. Boiler system apparently had a problem prior to us being there so the pool wasn’t warmed totally and hot tub disabled. They did offer next door hotel use though for free.
- shelley (10/5): - Big room, very comfortable bed, the couch was comfortable to sit & read, the restaurant was AMAZING! Cute ambiance, lovely wait staff, and delicious food
- Al (6/5): - The staf was weloming and professional
The beds wonderful
I would call the room “tired”, the bathtub chipped, wiring all over the place
- Jonathan (10/5): - Clean, Comfortable accommodation with every facility provided in the room to self cater in the room although we ate at the Gateway Grill which provides excellent cooking and drink options with magnificent burgers and local beers & cocktails. All of the Staff were extremely friendly & helpful and the breakfast provided set us up for our onward journey.
A very Comfortable Stay.
- Nolan (6/5): Great hotel, change some things re:booking - Loved the hotel and the people. VERY disappointed there was no indication the pool was out of service when we booked. I also wasn’t told until after I asked about it. My 2 small children were looking forward to it all day. Thankfully the hotel next to us was letting people that stayed here go there to swim, completely saved the day. Staff was lovely, rooms were fantastic for our family of 4.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good for the night - A good motel for an overnight stay. My room was renovated and had a little kitchen. Tidy place. Breakfast was pretty meager. The Best Western next door is much nicer but costlier.
- Catherine (10/5): - Renovated recently? Looked modern, very clean. Odd brown rubber baseboards in the hallway that didn’t seem to quite fit to the walls, but I don’t care about the baseboards as long as they’re clean, lol. Staff friendly and helpful. Gateway Grill was a bit pricey for us, but it’s in the middle of the Rockies, so of course it would be. Food was good and large plates were loaded—we were happy and stuffed after dinner. I’m not sure whether I actually booked this room or we were upgraded, because we had a small kitchenette. 😊 I was able to wash my travel mugs and if not full from dinner, could have made a snack. Kitchenette including fridge/freezer, microwave, cooktop, hot plate (?), cabinets all clean and in good repair. Quiet room. Cozy beds and pillows. Only disappointment was that this was the last night of our trip and I was stiff and achy from driving and looking forward to using the pool. It was closed for maintenance.
- keith (10/5): - Paint colours ,clean room ,not smelly
- Erika (10/5): - Staff were very friendly and helpful, super clean and comfortable room, the kids enjoyed the pool and the onsite restaurant was cozy with great food and service. The morning breakfast buffet was hot, plentiful and tasty with a great selection for all tastes. We stopped in Clearwater because it was the halfway point on our trip but we will definitely stop again in the future because it was a great experience.
- Isabelle (10/5): - Love the restaurant connected to the hotel. The breakfast in the morning is perfect, makes it easy travelling with kids.
- Martin (10/5): - Decent option, renovated and clean, friendly staff
- Jennifer (10/5): - Great location, breakfast was a good mix of food especially for dietary issues. The coffee bar was a nice touch.
- Judith Edith (10/5): - The mgr Justin Eastbrook and his team were very helpful/ understanding when we had to leave 1 day earlier due to a river atmospheric weather system coming in to be able to drive home before it’s arrival and cancelled our final days reservation without hesitation so we might get a refund .. very much appreciated indeed!
We will be back soon to the Clearwater Quality Inn with this kind of Quality service !
- Adam (8/5): - hotel was nice, but not many dining options
- Rosemarie (8/5): - Lovely, quiet, clean, and with a door opening to a small patio. Very peaceful.
- Nikki (10/5): - Second stay there and would come back afsin
- Chris (10/5): - Great stay
- Boyd (10/5): - Staff was friendly and courteous. Room was clean. Large room with small coffee area, clear for clothes, kitchen area amd everything is clean
- Lorna (8/5): - It was an awesome stay
- Elizabeth (10/5): Clean, updated, good value. - Very nice updated rooms. Clean and very comfortable. Restaurant was closed during our stay 🙁but we found a restaurant relatively close. Great value.
- Al (8/5): - Overall stay was great, only minor thing would be how much the hallways echo when people walk by due to the flooring.
- Carmen (10/5): - Driving through Clearwater this was a perfect stop for our family. The service was top notch, the rooms were clean and quiet .. looked to be newly updated.
For the price … it was perfect.
- Jamie (10/5): - The centrally located lobby was nice and the continental breakfast was great.
- Christopher (10/5): - Surprisingly actually very nice! The room was beautiful.
- Gurjit (4/5): - Very Disappointing Stay
I stayed at this hotel with my hockey team, and unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. Upon entering our room, my kids discovered weed oil near the light, and there was a strong odor coming from underneath the door. The pool was much smaller than expected, and there was no hot tub, which was a big disappointment.
I also had major issues with the service. I called the front desk over 10 times on Sunday morning to request that my room be freshened up, but no one answered. When I did manage to speak with the front desk, the male staff member was rude and unhelpful. Additionally, they increased our room rate by $100 once they found out we were a hockey team, which felt like price gouging.
To make matters worse, I accidentally left a few personal items behind after checking out. When I called a few hours later to inquire about them, I was informed that they had been thrown away in the garbage.
On a positive note, the lady who served breakfast was very kind and helpful, and she was the only bright spot during our stay.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. It was overpriced, poorly managed, and the staff’s lack of professionalism made for an extremely frustrating stay.
- JoAnna (8/5): - I found check in easy, staff was polite. the facility was in great shape. some of the parking lot was a bit icy and I felt that could use a bit of care, but overall I think it's a great place.
- Brian (8/5): - A little dated but spacious and clean.
- Candy Anica (8/5): - Room was spacious plus there is a bonus small kitchen which is essential for a family traveling with small kids.
- ivan (10/5): - Good hotel, highly recommend
- Renee (10/5): - Loved the stay here. Very close to Wells Grey National Park. Absolutely loved the breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.
- Nikki (8/5): - We had a great stay with an excellent breakfast. Nicely remodeled rooms except our coffee maker wasn’t working well but the lobby has an excellent machine with different types of coffee and lattes. We would stay there again for sure
- Douglas (8/5): - Property was clean and comfortable. Only complaint was that the Hot Tub was not working and out of service. Otherwise it was a great place to stay.
- Chihming (10/5): - This motel is cozy, everything is so comfortable, must come back again!
- Ruth (10/5): - Room was so clean, beautiful spot, great breakfast, friendly staff, great place to stay.
- Debbie (4/5): - Was expecting to have the room cleaned but came back from a day of touring and no clean towels bed not made . Don’t know what you pay for if you don’t get that service . Front desk person did not even lift his head to say good morning as it was more important to be on his phone . The restaurant was the best pet of the hotel amazing staff and food . Will not stay here again 😞
- Steve (10/5): - Lovely large, clean and comfy room with king bed. Small kitchen which was perfect for our needs. Supper in the hotel restaurant. Really good service and the food was very good. Breakfast (included) was great … full cooked breakfast.
We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Clearwater.
- Elaine (10/5): - The room was really large, even had a small kitchen area. Beds were comfy and linens were nice and fresh. Surprised at how nice this place is inside. The hot continental breakfast was really good also.
- Natasja (8/5): - Goede verhouding prijs/kwaliteit, vriendelijk personeel. Komen volgend jaar weer terug.
- Charles (10/5): - Very clean. Wide hallways. Excellent breakfast.
- Darren (8/5): - Heated pool!! Need I say more?
- grant (6/5): - They didnt keep the breakfast filled. We went at 8 and it was completely empty
- Leslie (8/5): - Nice hotel that had everything we needed. Swimming pool, restaurant that was recommended by some of the locals, breakfast included, little in-room kitchenette. Hot tub was under repair while we were there. It did feel a little dated. Maybe Quality Inn will do a facelift soon. Great location for visiting Wells Gray park and waterfalls. Had two fantastic dinners in Clearwater- one was within walking distance.
- Lesliekap (8/5): Gateway to the Waterfalls - Nice hotel that had everything we needed. Had two fantastic dinners in Clearwater- one BBQ place was within walking distance.
- Andrew (10/5): - Very nice stay indeed. The room looked like it was recently refurbished and was very comfortable. Would recommend to anybody. Was a great base for exploring the Wells Gray Park which is absolutely stunning and a hidden gem.
- YOUNGCHAN (10/5): - Good
