- Anthony (6/5): Nice hotel terrible beds. - Location was great. Beds were bricks and the pillows were worse. Even my 22 year old kids were complaining. Beds are not up to standard hotel standards. Other than that the hotel was nice.
- Seng100 (8/5): Expensive hotel of the Autograph Collection category - Impromptu stay overnight in the city to attend to a late meeting and early morning session. Hotel is situated at the entrance to the newly developed Seaport area in Boston and is in good proximity to the many offerings in the area. Arrival and check-in was uneventful, efficient and professional. Perhaps because of the late booking and a rather large gathering in the convention conference center nearby, the rates were astronomically high (ridiculous). Assigned room, although nicely furnished with the expected amenities - is not commensurate with the high rates charged. Room is open plan, viz. no cupboards or doors to bathrooms but was largely functional. Assigned room has a view of the gym across the street that had a clear view into the room with the curtains open - not a desirable feature as this required I drew the curtains that made the room dark. I liked the availability of outlets next to the bed and in the working area but climate control was sluggish (did not cool) and the sink did not drain - which is a basic "no" for me. The bed, while comfortable, creaked (irritatingly loudly) with small movements and the room was not as sound-proof as it needs to be - as I could hear street noises. But the walk-in shower was in good working order and provided good service. I would rate this establishment higher if not for the rates levied and the few noted imperfections. Roof top venue is a thing - but over-rated in my opinion. The small lobby was chaotic and noisy with the many guests visiting the roof top restaurant-bar.

Nice shower!! The bed is low and the mattress was about a 7 out of 10. The coffee maker did not work well t ll! Even the second one did not work properly!

- travelingfam75 (8/5): Pros and Cons - There are pros and cons to this hotel. Pros: excellent location in the Seaport, the restaurant and bar downstairs was great and the rooms are minimalist but cool. Cons: the Rooftop bar is a great feature of this hotel but it’s over run with 20 somethings and influencers. It’s a total scene! To the point of getting back to your room is difficult. The lobby is filled with people waiting to get to the rooftop bar or waiting for Ubers to leave. The elevator situation needs a better plan for guests since I shouldn’t have to be squished into an overcrowded elevator with a gaggle of 20 year olds to get to my room and or wait several cycles of elevators to get back to my room. Also from a security point of view the number of random non guest in the elevator is concerning. At night you need a key to get to your floor but anyone not staying at hotel could get off the elevator on any floor if they were riding the elevator with a guest who swiped to go to their room. There should be a separate elevator for guest and more security in lobby etc due to mass number of non guests. The warmer weather makes this whole situation worse both during day and at night. I do not think I’d stay here again based upon the security concerns.

- taylorandrandib (10/5): Best hotel in Boston! - Great hotel! The property is beautiful and centrally located. We were able to walk to many of the attractions and restaurants we wanted to check out. The room was cozy and clean with a great view. Even the bathroom rivaled that of a resort. The staff was exceptional. RJ and Lonzo were very accommodating and helpful, very genuine when assisting us with whatever we needed. The hotel restaurant Para Maria was delicious! Get the burger, you won’t regret it. The bartender Brittany was so sweet and made the best old fashions. The rooftop bar is a vibe. If you want to sit in the igloos be sure to make a reservation beforehand, especially on weekends. But the drinks at the downstairs bar were better in my opinion. Also, The Barking Crab is right next door, a must go for lobster rolls! All in all great experience, We will definitely be back!

Especially treasure the assistance of a staff member called Marty who extended great kindness in helping me with my Uber car as I was checking out of the hotel. He not only gave me my final receipt at the desk but escorted me to the car and rolled my bags out to it over the wet side walk. Over the top gesture was quickly putting the bags in the trunk of the car. Such courtesy, kindness greatly appreciated by this Envoy patron. Many of my family members stay at this Envoy as a relative lives nearby and all of us have been pleased with the service. Thank you. I have never met Marty before but the Envoy is fortunate to have such a gentleman on its staff. Few companies realize that it is the little gestures that win over customers.

Donnovan and Hamza were exceptional—extremely professional, genuinely helpful, and just really nice guys to talk to. From check-in onward, they went out of their way to make everything smooth and welcoming. Whether it was answering questions, offering recommendations, or just having a friendly conversation, they made the experience feel personal rather than transactional. It’s rare to find front desk staff who strike the perfect balance between professionalism and approachability, but Donnovan and Hamza absolutely nailed it. They’re a huge asset to the hotel and a big reason I’d happily stay here again. Highly recommend.

In addition to the room being clean and comfortable, it was the Marriott Envoy team’s exceptional customer service that took my experience to the next level. This year, I had a work trip scheduled on my birthday. When the Marriott Envoy team found out, they went out of their way to celebrate it. I returned to my room to find a special delivery and a happy birthday card. A huge thank you to Marty, Donnovan, and Rohan for your incredible hospitality. It really felt like I was home with my friends and family, and I cannot thank you enough for that! I have stayed at other hotels in the area but this will now be my forever Boston hotel!

Can you imagine waking up to that amazing view? I loved how I could still keep my luggage in the hotel after checkout. The hotel is modern and stylish, with a clean feel throughout and a staff that couldn’t have been friendlier. My room was comfortable and spotless. The layout was a bit unusual in terms of how the space was arranged, but nothing that caused any issues. Just something worth noting if you prefer a more traditional setup. The rooftop bar is definitely a highlight. It has an energy all its own once the evening crowd shows up. That said, be prepared for the elevators to get hectic at night. They do their best to keep one dedicated for hotel guests, but with the rooftop being so popular, there’s still a bit of a wait. Overall, a solid stay in a fun location. Modern vibe, great staff, and everything was clean. I’d stay again!

The rooftop bar is hands down one of the best in the city. The fire pits, the music, the drinks, the view… our waiter Sebastian made out experience 5 star! everything was just perfect. It’s got such a fun, relaxed vibe while still feeling upscale. The staff was amazing — so friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming, which made our stay even better. We ended up spending both nights up there because we loved it so much. Can’t wait to come back — this place is a total gem! They really know what they’re doing!
- acr356 (8/5): Can’t beat the city views - We were aware of the main issues complained about in reviews before we booked, and we did not think it was that bad. A lot probably depends on the room and the time of year. We booked the hotel for the view and it was an incredible view of the city (not so much of the water). We stayed in a corner room right by the bridge and the barking crab and underneath the reserved (quieter) end of the rooftop. While there was some loud bridge traffic, we didn’t find it to be excessive to anything else you might find in a city. We could only hear the rooftop in our bathroom and it was a low background noise. I could imagine that the outside noise would be significantly worse during warmer months when more people are out and about later in the evening.
- Discover10942296179 (2/5): Reservation Cancelled Upon Arrival - No compensation or assistance from staff - I arrived at the hotel with a confirmed reservation, but upon check-in I was told that I had cancelled the booking. I showed my confirmation email and number. I had never received any notice of a cancellation. Despite this, the front desk offered no help or explanation. All of my colleagues, who booked the same way, had no issues checking in. The man ahead of me in line had the same problem but was still given a room. I asked to speak to the manager, but he was unreachable. The situation took several hours to sort out and significantly impacted my stay in Boston. Unfortunately, I was left without accommodation at the last minute, when nearby hotels were priced at over $700 per night. This experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional, especially given the lack of accountability or assistance from management.
- Texasburbs (4/5): Airpods taken by housekeeping - Stayed for business with a large company in the area. Bathroom is lovely and the location is fabulous. Staff at checkin and in lobby is great. The hotel is nice and a great location BUT my airpods slipped off the side table and got stuck on the bed frame in the middle of the night when I hit them and when I got back to the room after work, they were gone. I checked with the front desk thinking that housekeeping turned them in thinking they were from a previous guest. I guess someone has a new set of airpods. Really sad experience as I often stay in Marriott hotels. Walls are quite thin at this hotel. I have stayed in a LOT of the hotels in Seaport and I generally like to check all of them out when I go to town several times a year. I often suggest hotels for other within my company and not sure I would suggest this one from this experience

We were in a room on the fifth floor and we didn’t get any sleep until after 2:30 when it finally got quiet on the street. In addition, you hear all the traffic noises.

It’s the perfect spot to have a view of seaport and still be very close and walkable to the downtown area. There was a convenient new parking garage right across the street which was so helpful. The only downside was that we were excited to go to the rooftop to enjoy the bar and the view because it is very highly rated, but we were not notified that it was going to be closed during our stay for a private event. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience.

It’s way overpriced for what it is and this terrible noise but unfortunately it’s a very booked weekend in Boston
- Amupward (6/5): Lovely hotel with a great view (if the rooftop bar is available!) - Recently spent a weekend at The Envoy in Boston. Beautiful hotel in a great location. The room was lovely and comfortable with a great shower setup. All staff we encountered were great. We booked the hotel for the rooftop bar area and we did go there earlier in the evening one day (although a large portion was reserved and blocked off - albeit empty while we were there). We discovered however that we couldn't get back later in the evening after leaving for dinner (a Friday) as the lineup was quite long outside. The following night, the rooftop was entirely closed to a private party (which we didn't discover until actually going up there.) Something to keep in mind.

It’s a big party every night and went the bar closes at 11pm there, the party ends up on the street. I rode the elevator multiple times with drunk folks in the evening. The last night someone at the club pulled the hotel fire alarm around 11:30PM and woke the entire hotel up. I have stayed here a few times and never again.
- 279nickb (10/5): Great getaway for wife and I - Wife and I traveled for our anniversary, and had excellent stay. The staff was friendly, warm, and welcome. Chris B. and Martie were exceptionally helpful and provided us with coupons to try their rooftop bar, which is probably this hotels biggest selling point. Martie was very knowledgeable about the area and Chris B. was very attentive to our celebration and even sent up a handwritten card and some candies. Even the overnight gentleman was very helpful when we needed some ice. They don’t have ice machines which is kind of odd, but they will bring you buckets of it. We also got some free wine coolers at check in. The rooms are a bit basic but we had a blast. We’re local but I would recommend this hotel to anyone based on service alone. The room was spotless, but you have to request a fridge which we thought was strange. Try out their restaurant in the lobby, the breakfast is great compared to usual hotel breakfasts. But it’s not free.

The staff made our stay wonderful, especially Chris, who went out of his way to make our stay pleasant and was quite helpful. Chris was always cheerful and welcoming. Remelia also surprised us with a bottle of wine in our room. The rooftop had a lovely view. Rooms were good size for a city. My only concern was that the service in the restaurant was quite slow so I wouldn’t go there if you are in a hurry. Food was good and reasonably priced though.
- kristiec998 (10/5): Birthday Celebration - This was our first experience at The Envoy Hotel in Boston. We went to Boston for a Red Sox game and a quick getaway for my husband's birthday. When we checked in, I told Donnovan we were there celebrating my husband's birthday, and he had a bottle of Persecco sent to the room, totally unexpected and very much appreciated! Our view was beautiful, and the staff and service were wonderful. My only complaint was that our bed could stand to be replaced. Other than the bed, it was a great experience and we will for sure stay again.

- michaelanthonyr2021 (4/5): Subpar Experience - Conflicting feelings here. On the one hand, the rooftop view is gorgeous (as advertised), and the room was neatly kept/furnished. Most importantly, the staff at the front desk was incredibly kind. However, the overall service level/aptitude was subpar. We waited long periods for just about everything we needed, including baggage, service requests, and a nearly 1.5-hour wait for an ordered meal (which was first forgotten, then mistaken, as we received the wrong menu items). To add salt to the wound, a cleaning person entered our room at ~10:00 AM practically unannounced, when check-out is not even until 12:00 PM. We were incredibly put off by the slow and downright bizarre service from the hotel staff and restaurant staff. Side note: We do not blame the server who mistook our order, as this poor individual was the ONLY employee seemingly available or within sight in the entire restaurant; it is ridiculous to expect one employee to be able to handle such a volume of customers. We like to occasionally come into the city and stay at the up-and-coming, "hot" new hotels... this was is sadly not one of them.

No manager has reached out as promised. And no apology has been given. Extremely frustrating.

The sole alternative offered without sincere concern was room service. Marriott did not provide prior notice. Also on the Envoy’s lower floors be ready to listen to bass beat through the windows late at night. From experience on weekends the Envoy is an event space that happens to have hotel rooms.

A disability room should be located either on the first floor or located near an elevator on the second floor. No refrigerator in the room but we did request one. My husband hurt his leg and I asked for assistance and wheelchair when we were leaving and they left the wheelchair and luggage cart out in the hallway. Very noisy outside the hotel on the weekend.

We had a corner junior suite...it was sweet!...had an awesome view of the city and the harbor, especially beautiful at night. Ate breakfast & dinner at Para Maria. Excellent empanadas! View at the Top of the Envoy was beautiful as well. Food was excellent and so was Tim...great waiter. Fun place to spend a sunny afternoon. We will definitely return to the Envoy!

High end bathroom (Toto toilet, rain shower etc.) Nice and roomy. Storage was creative (closets/drawers). Bathroom walls were sliding glass - not as private but enough, with nice counter space for all your toiletries for two. Missed having a fridge for storing medication and/or leftovers. We were on 5th floor with the Rooftop bar on 7th so - pretty happening place for young locals. Most of the nights the downstairs bar/restaraunt was reserved for Great communication with last minute changes - really happy with the packaging, private parties so couldn't enjoy either, so that was a bummer. Breakfast menu not so great but lots of restaraunts nearby.

- denisefI9934CH (6/5): Use caution when booking this property through the American Express luxury resorts and hotel program. - We booked this hotel through the American Express platinum travel card as a part of their “luxury resorts and hotels” program. I would have restricted my review only to American Express, except for the poor front desk and corporate response which is a reflection of this hotel directly. Upon arrival to the hotel, we realized there was no valet parking. This is an amenity I would expect when staying at a hotel listed as an autograph or luxury hotel. I went into the lobby to ask about the parking and there was only one person at the front desk. Again, I would expect more staffing from a very busy “luxury”hotel. I waited patiently for her to finish with the person she was helping. At no point did she recognize that I was standing there. My experience in other luxury hotels is the desk receptionist would typically politely acknowledge the person waiting and assure me someone would be available to help shortly. When she finally acknowledged me, I asked where the valet parking was. She curtly explained they did not offer valet and directed me to the public parking garage down the street. I told her I was not interested in worrying about finding parking in such a busy district of Boston, I told her we wanted to cancel our booking. She told me I would forfeit everything I paid because I prepaid for the hotel. My husband and I travel a lot. I am fully aware that a prepaid direct hotel booking, you agree to a no cancellation clause. This however, was not that. I booked through American Express and I did not agree to a full no cancellation clause. She just stared at me blankly when I tried to explain this and she made no attempt to help me. Given my husband was sitting in the car waiting outside on a busy street, I opted to leave and call American Express directly to resolve. Despite the fact that I had my confirmation from American Express that said the penalty was forfeiting one night (very typical) it took me hours of phone calls to both American Express and Marriott trying to resolve. The ironic thing is American Express kept calling the same front desk attendant who was already curt and rude to me in person. She apparently had the authority to deny my reimbursement. I tried to call Marriotts corporate customer service and after repeatedly requesting to speak to a manager, a supervisor at Marriott told me I had to speak to American Express and there was nothing they could do for me. Even though we often stay at Marriott hotels and typically book with them directly. (In fact that same night we did stay at a Marriott hotel with onsite parking) Marriott was still unable to help and cautioned me against making 3rd party bookings. At one point during this back and forth my husband noticed on his Marriott app on his phone there was a note that given his high status with Marriott, we could have canceled with NO penalty if we did so by 6 pm. By the time we saw that we had just passed 6 pm. I tried to explain to the Marriott corporate supervisor and again, he made no attempt to acknowledge or resolve through our loyalty and status with Marriott directly. Again, just cautioning me against 3rd party bookings. After repeated calls and much insistence from me asking how this solo person at the front desk had this level of authority, someone at American Express finally decided to email a member of management directly at the hotel. The next day, a director at the property agreed to reimburse me, all but the first night, as a “one time courtesy” behaving as if they were doing me a huge favor. How is this a favor when I had the agreement in writing that the penalty was one night? In summary, I believe the hotel needs to offer better customer service at their front desk. They need more training on this partnership with American Express. I believe this front desk person did not understand the difference between a direct booking where you agree to a no cancellation, and this program through American Express. If anyone is considering booking here through American Express, be aware that if you have a problem with the booking, Marriott will tell you to call American Express and American Express will tell you to call Marriott. It’s an incredibly frustrating process and not what I would expect from two very prominent travel companies.

The only downside is that there’s no T stop nearby other than the silver line (underground buses) though that stop is a 5 minute walk from the hotel’s front door. We didn’t get to enjoy the rooftop bar due to the weather and private events, but the view is quite nice. Also, keep in mind that many of the amenities (free rental bikes, etc) are seasonal. Overall, the staff was helpful and friendly and the room was very modern and comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel!

Alexi and Chris at the front desk greeted us every time we walked by and made sure that we were well taken care of! The food at Para Maria was delicious and Wilson helped to start our day off with a smile! Rooftop bar was simply lovely - also with kind staff taking great care of you (Brian and Arianna)! The location is ideal - we were at a conference and it is an easy walk to the conference center but also close to some downtown Boston hotspots over the bridge. Not to mention the great view of the harbour! Rooms are bright, clean and modern. Looking forward to being back!

- Jana (10/5): - Loved the funky room layout with the bed facing the window and the water with the working desk behind. Very fun and very comfortable. Staff was friendly and food at the restaurant was excellent. Would stay again.
- mikecR6276JV (10/5): Great experience - The rooms are modern and efficiently designed. The staff is top notch from front desk to bartenders to housecleaning and everyone behind the scenes. It’s centrally located and an easy trip to all Boston attractions, restaurants and historical sites. The restaurant Para Maria has a great menu and the food is prepared expertly. Highly recommended.
- Monkeria (10/5): - I’d stay here every time if I could. Nice area and definitely a nice hotel. Loved the rooftop bar also.
