The Residence Inn in August is by far one of my favorite places to stay. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Miss Anita at the front desk makes the experience even better.

Beds are comfortable. Pillows are a no no. Soft and very flat. Take your own if you need more neck support. Not sure why hotels don’t do firmer pillows.
Shower head is fabulous! Love the water pressure. Clean towels. Breakfast was really not that great. Not a great selection. Notice stuck up to watch how much you eat “other people have to eat too…” very unprofessional. There was no toast available. Hot food was cold. We never had breakfast there during our three day stay. Went to eat around 8am.
Had to keep curtains closed at all times (block-outs) as the building material was right outside our room windows and people getting on and off scaffolding. Had very little privacy and dark room during the day.
Will be back but will address these issues in person next time. Nothing serious…..

- D6044VQkareng (4/5): Not up to Marriott Brand standards - The location is convenient. The property is badly dated but in the process of renovation. My first room had something brown splashed on the headboard of the bed. I was then assigned a room on the 3rd floor. After cleaning beneath the head of the bed where there was significant dust, debris, a live silverfish, and I got settled in, I noticed a large stain on the ceiling which would indicate a leak of some type. There was also a musty smell coming from the bathroom. When I spoke to the front desk staff in the morning, I was promised a room on the highest floor (4) when I returned from work that day. When I got back to the hotel, the attendant at the desk told me that she didn’t know who I spoke to but there were no 4th floor rooms available. She offered me another room on the 3rd floor but when I went to see it before moving, I found the stove to be dirty with splattered grease on the surface of the stove as well as the backsplash area. I decided to just stay in the room with the smell and the stained ceiling. Nobody cared to follow-up to be sure my concerns were resolved. Every room I saw was dirty.

Staff were welcoming and room was large with everything needed to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast had a nice choice assortment and the whole area was well staffed and kept clean.
We will happily book this property in future trips.

- buddy11012 (4/5): Great employee Anita at a not so great hotel. - I have stayed at this hotel 12+ times over the last year for business reasons. Although the hotel is trying to do some upgrades, the housekeeping or lack of is a bigger issue. My room has always been somewhat dirty even upon check in with dirt an dust on the top of the refrigerator, cobwebs and spiders in the corners, food crumbs from the previous guest left on the counter, etc. Many times when my room was scheduled to be cleaned, it was not done.
The only positive things about this hotel are the Marriott rewards, the location and most importantly, Anita the afternoon front desk clerk. She has consistently been friendly, helpful and always smiling. She’s definitely the best employee I have dealt with at this hotel and in addition, the most hardworking. Thank you for everything you do Anita!
- O574ZSlibbym (10/5): Nice front desk worker (Anita), but actual building could be improved - Anita went above and beyond to make us feel welcome when we arrived late in the evening! I appreciated her kindness and attentiveness. She was quick to help and wasn’t just hiding in the back when no one was there to serve. She was out sanitizing tables and was quick to greet and help us.
Although Anita was amazing, the hotel could improve. We were assigned a room that smelled smokey (Anita quickly got us a new room). The pillows also were only one size (big and fluffy) which isnt my preference for sleeping. Additionally, early in the morning there was a homeless lady loitering in the sliding door area, waiting to sneak in on someone else’s swipe (which she did get in on my swipe). The other front desk person who was working the morning was hiding in the back so I had to ring the bell several times, hoping she would come address the homeless lady.

I felt like I was home with how kind she was about everything she did that night. She also always made sure their was fresh coffee though out the night. I travel the country for work, and spend months at a time in hotels. This was by far one of the best extended stays.
A special shout out to Janitza! She is the “face of breakfast” and her positive energy and compassionate tone is contagious! The breakfast area is stocked, organized, and CLEAN. She makes any morning, a great morning.

- Climber54388873939 (10/5): Title: Anita Costello Made My Stay Exceptional! - I stayed at the Residence by Marriott recently and had a wonderful experience, largely thanks to Ms. Anita Costello. Late one night, I needed to print some important documents but was having difficulty with the printer. Anita noticed I was struggling and immediately offered her help. She not only tried to fix the issue herself, but also called for assistance and generously offered to have me email the documents to her work email so she could print them for me. Her proactive approach and caring attitude made a lasting impression. She is a true professional with a heart of gold. Residence by Marriott is lucky to have her! I’ll definitely be returning.

Pretty decent housekeeping, dining area very clean and breakfast is better than most properties thanks to Janetza, who keeps it fresh and changes it up daily. Hot tub still out of order is pretty inconvenient but swimming pool is really warm. Small TVs with limited programming. Pretty quiet here for most of the time. Would stay again for certain.

management’s and Bonvoy’s response to our ordeal further proved hotel management nor Bonvoy cared about our safety or loyalty.
After a trip to urgent care and a report to the environmental agency we learned they had put the room back in rotation immediately after a pet was in the room. They neglected to take appropriate steps to insure the room was clean and safe. They failed in their legal “…responsibility to protect guests from foreseeable risks, including injuries and criminal acts…” demonstrating a continued pattern of placing guests at risks.
Management’s and Bonvoy’s response to our ordeal further proved hotel management and Bonvoy have little concern for customer safety or loyalty.
Don’t trust them.

They were excellent always a smile and a greeting in the morning in the dining area or the front desk. Ms Briunna and Ms Deborah made sure breakfast was ready and hot. Will stay here again if I'm in Augusta area.

We are two adults and our 17 year old daughter.What sets this hotel apart is the quality of the Staff. Anita in reception is what hospitality is all about, Her friendly greetings, always got a smile and seems to be always brushing up, cleaning and making sure guests are looked after. Deborah was another stand out, in the breakfast and reception. Being from Ireland we had never had Gritts, Deborah prepared it for us, and showed us how it should be eaten . What great customer service. On reception Deborah also made sure we had everything we needed. These two ladies are the ethos of the Marriott way in customer service. Had a lovely two days and the hotel felt very homely. Lovely rooms, clean, good air con. good kitchen facilities. If we are ever in Augusta again would not stay anywhere else.Staff can make or break a stay. These ladies just made our stay. Well done.

Overall everything was just right for these holidays decoration were awesome. Front desks employees are very friendly always with a smile and greeting everyone and making them feel at home.

From sweeping to lighting the firepit for us, to a friendly greeting. She is what is missing from the hospitality business these days. I made sure she knew how much I appreciated her work ethic and upbeat personality. She deserves to be recognized and hope she rubs off on other employees, she is amazing.

We couldn’t find parking and she helped us find a place and gave us a pass so the truck would be safe. She spoke to us every single time we came by the desk. She always had a smile. I would’ve given you a two if not for her. I understand you’re recovering from a hurricane so I overlooked the damage. The bathroom could’ve been cleaner. What’s with the prison toilet paper? Is this the new Marriott standard, because I have a real problem with that. Every decent hotel chain knows you don’t save money with cheap toilet paper. Been a member for a long time. I hope this isn’t the end of a great run for Marriott as a premiere chain. But back to why we will come back. I told Anita we’ll come back because of her. Y’all straighten up. Get your act together.
- Maureen (2/5): We will never choose this hotel again. - This is the 2nd time I’ve used Hotels.com and I’m starting to think that the hotels give you the worst room because you booked through a 3rd party. Everything seemed fine but as we got closer looks and smells, that feeling faded. I wiped everything down that I could reach in that room because it seems to have splotchy spots in a lot of places. There was no water pressure, the bed was like a rock and the breakfast was the saddest thing I’ve seen. I went to make myself a waffle being that was all I could eat in their hodge podge “buffet”, but no. The lady who was working the area kind of laughed at me for trying and said they hadn’t received the mix in a long time. So, I do not recommend this hotel, especially at the $270 price point. No way.
I will say that the best part of our stay was the check in. The lady who checked us in was so kind and sweet. We played a little plinko game and I don’t know why, but that made the check in memorable.
