Wanderwoman (7/5): - Great location. Good breakfast included. The owner of the coffee shoppromotes a side business vanloads of daytrippers to spend the entire day, morning to evening, on property. About 4 dozen people hung out for the day, occupying all the lawn chairs and seats overlooking the beach as they posed and did wardrobe changes for Instagram with props supplied by the van driver. It's a side hustle but is very inconsiderate for overnight guests left with no place to sit and throng of people tromping through the property and past your rooms.
Claudia (9/5): Very relaxing. - Everything, it’s such a wonderful place to stay at. The people are very friendly! This is in no way fault of the property, but I booked this place because of the beachfront. However, during my stay it was probably high tide and the beach was gone.

Arda (8/5): Prachtig - Direct aan zee, de mooie tuin, de ligging buiten het centrum aan een rustige straat. Helaas lagen er veel zandzakken tegen erosie op het smalle reepje strand. Dat is een nare/confronterende aanblik.

Achim (9/5): Very friendly guesthouse with nice ocean-view garden - Very friendly, helpful and professional staff. Room and bathroom were very clean and cleaned daily. There's numerous restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Also mini-markets to buy water are just a short walk away. We had our own little "front porch" to sit on, but it's also nice to relax in the beautiful garden and enjoy the ocean view. Their beach has been destroyed by the 2024 super-typhoon, so now you're basically sitting on giant sandbags where the beach once was. But they made the best of it and covered them up where possible so we didn't mind. And you can still get down to the beach right next to the guesthouse for a swim or a nice walk. During the day a lot of people come to the cafe for fotoshootings in the garden but in the mornings and evenings it's very quiet and we enjoyed the ocean view with a glass or red wine. We liked that we could rent bikes for free to go to Hoi An or the Marble Mountains. We enjoyed our five nights there very much and were able to recharge our batteries. We'd love to stay there again should we come back to the area. Moisture management in the shower could be improved. It's hard for stuff to dry if you hang it up inside the room. But we just put our towels on our chairs outside, which was a good workaround. Wifi was a bit flaky at times.

Dominika (10/5): Absolutnie fantastyczny ! - Absolutnie wszystko - spędziłyśmy tu wspaniale czas! Obsługa jest przemiła i bardzo pomocna. Sam obiekt jest bardzo ładny, można jeść śniadanie z widokiem na morze 🙂 Na miejscu jest spa - masaż azjatycki wspaniały! Super lokalizacja - można rowerkiem (dostępne na miejscu) podjechać do najbliższych plaż. Czułyśmy się zaopiekowane pod każdym względem 🙂
Maximilian (7/5): - Die Unterkunft hat eine tolle Lage und die einzelnen Zimmer/Appartements sind nett angelegt. Unser Appartement war sehr großzügig geschnitten. Das Frühstück kann auf dem ganzen Außengelände eingenommen werden und es gibt eine solide Auswahl. Unser Zimmer hatte einige feuchte Stellen und es roch modrig. Das Personal ist zwar sehr bemüht aber tagsüber vor allem für das angeschlossene Café zuständig, sodass man mit anderen Anliegen entweder per WhatsApp Kontakt aufnehmen oder erst jemanden finden muss.

Marie (10/5): calm escape by the sea - the beach side (like a cafe-terrace so no direct access to swim but you can walk 20m and then lie on the sand by the ocean) was beautiful to relax & chill. the rooms were spacious and lovely decorated. warm pretty light & a beautiful patio was right in front of my door. lots of plants outside & overall a very pleasant stay i felt really comfortable there! the only weird thing i can mention is that there are a lot of tourist groups (arriving with buses and vans etc) at the location that walk around the properties and sit by the sea so that was sometimes annoying with so many people around & directly in front of your patio. other than that totally recommended!!! :)

minoru (10/5): かなりお得。朝食うまい。レストラン多し。 - 海のすぐそばで、海を見ながらゆっくりできるスペースがたくさんある。その場所は、別に何も飲み物とか頼まなくても使う事ができました。部屋は清潔。寝る時の蚊帳もちゃんと機能してて快適でした。朝食もおいしかった。フォー。近くにレストランもたくさんある。このホテルのあたりは、韓国の人の人気スポットになっているみたいです。人が次々に来ましたが、気になりませんでした。ホイアンまでボルトですぐです。朝食で、麺類は前日にオーダーしなきゃ行けないことは、先に言っといたほうが良いと思います。

Die Anlage rundherum ist traumhaft schön, direkt am Meer und alles grün und blühend. Mit dem Fahrrad oder Roller ist die Altstadt zügig erreichbar. Öffentliche, schöne Strände direkt in der Nähe. Sehr leckeres Frühstück. Kein eigener Strand, aber öffentliche Strände zu Fuß in 2 Minuten erreichbar.
Dorothee (9/5): Saubere große Zimmer in einem sehr schönen Garten mit Blick aufs Meer - Wir waren als Familie mit einem Teenager und einer Freundin hier. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Ja, der Strand wurde durch einen Taifun abgetragen, aber man kann in ein paar Minuten an den sauberen und fast menschenleeren Strand nebenan laufen. Uns hat es nicht gestört, dass Vietnamesinnen sich im Garten gegenseitig fotografieren. Wir fanden es eher lustig. Wir haben auch immer Platz zum Frühstücken mit Blick aufs Meer bekommen. Der Garten ist super schön und wird täglich gepflegt. Die Zimmer werden jeden Tag geputzt. Das Frühstück ist lecker und es ist praktisch, dass man den ganzen Tag Kleinigkeiten zum Essen und Getränke bekommt. Das Personal ist total freundlich und nett! Wir haben bei Bogdan, vom HoiAn Flow | Kite Surf Wind Center eine Surfstunde genommen. Sehr zu empfehlen! WLAN ist nicht stabil.
Karin (8/5): Zu teuer für das, was es bietet - und zu öffentlich, Hauptgeschäft ist das Café und nicht die Zimmer - sehr nettes Personal, hilfsbereit und kompetent.ausgezeichnetes Frühstück, viele Restaurants fussläufig erreichbar, nahe am Meer. , schöner Garten. Die Beschreibung, dass das Hotel nur 20 m von mir entfernt ist, stimmt faktisch – leider hat man aber keinen Beach Access. (Außer man traut sich, über die Erosions-Verbauungen zu klettern, die im übrigen auch nicht wirklich schön aussehen auch der Garten mit Café wäre eigentlich toll, wenn er denn den Hotel-Gästen exklusiv zur Verfügung stünde. Vermutlich war die Location aber auf Instagram gefeatured, denn jeden Tag kam ein unaufhörlicher Strom an fotografierenden Menschenmassen in die Gartenanlage, da das Café/Restaurant eben öffentlich ist. Dadurch hatten wir nicht nur nie Platz im Garten sondern mussten auch den Lärm dieser Menschenmengen von morgens sieben bis abends sieben ertragen. Glücklicherweise schließt das Café um 19:00 Uhr, so dass wenigstens in der Nacht einigermaßen Ruhe ist. Wir waren übrigens die ganzen drei Nächte die einzigen Hotelgäste.

L’accesso a una spiaggia super tranquilla è a pochi passi e ad appena qualche minuto di bici (in uso gratuito) si può raggiungere la più famosa spiaggia di An Bang che consiglio soprattutto verso sera perché si popola di “mercanti” di cibarie che allestiscono le loro stuoie direttamente sul mare. Personale - come sempre in Vietnam - super gentile e disponibile. Le nostre stanze erano al piano terra sul vialetto che collegava direttamente ai tavoli del bar verso il mare, per cui un pochino la privacy ne ha risentito…le altre camere probabilmente sono più “appartate”. Un disagio minimo comunque, compensato dalla bellezza del posto

Ally (7/5): Ambient and Picturesque - The picturesque views and quaint Cafe was a sight. The gardens and the beautiful koi fish gave the place ambience. The room was spacious and cleaned every day, as well as beautiful garden grounds. Sadly we had a storm come through and our roof leaked for the 4 nights we stayed and we had to keep moving our bed as our bed was wet. We were offered a room on our last night, although we felt bad for them, sadly that let the facility down. They did give us a sml bag of coffee to say sorry. Still a beautiful spot and the staff were lovely. It's also very busy with Tourists taking endless selfies with the gardens and sea views and they fill the beach seat very quickly. No beach access any more as it has been washed away in 2024. They also have another facility that we were not told of that you have use of the pool. And ask how to get hot water in your shower.
Marco (9/5): Nice place to enjoy the sea in a familiar atmosphere. - I really enjoyed the stay, not only due to the comfortable room but also because of the friendly staff and the good breakfast. The only think was that there was no beach in front of the hotel anymore. However they are trying to fix it. Furthermore you need to know that this also is a selfie spot and that there are always around 20-30 people there during the day, making selfies.

Roy-david (9/5): Quiet friendly place to relax with sea views - We had a relaxing and enjoyable time here. Perfect location away from the hustle and bustle of Hoi An. Quaint clean bungalow with super size comfy bed. Towels changed daily! Enjoyed breakfast with speciality coffee in beautiful gardens overlooking the sea. The staff are so kind and friendly, especially Trang, who went an extra mile to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Highly recommended! No beach! It was swept away by a typhoon.
Roger (6/5): A beautiful spot - The staff were excellent - Vie in particular - doing everything they could to make the stay excellent. I cannot fault the efforts of the staff and the location is still beautiful. Perhaps inevitably, the property is such a pleasant micro environment it has become a selfie mecca for Vietnamese day trippers. From 7.30 onwards it rapidly becomes packed and chaotic with groups and couples on respective photoshoots (these last for hours if you don't know Vietnam!). This makes it noisy, difficult to find a seat , and impossible to relax amongst the noise and constant image obsessives jostling for that perfect 'reel spot' all around you. Guests have to pre-book a breakfast spot if they want any chance to find a seat (N.B. property could easily rope of seated area over small bridge for guests only until mid-morning!). Also, note, due to sea erosion there is no longer access to the beach here. This makes for a nice viewpoint, but it has lost the 'escape route' from the Viet-arrazi.
Lisa (10/5): Peaceful and beautiful - The gardens are beautiful, the location is perfect, the staff were so friendly and helpful. It’s not the newest hotel around but it is quaint and lots of character. The beach has been washed away but they are trying to think outside the box to make it better. In the week we stayed, it improved a lot.

John (8/5): A relaxing stay with beautiful seaviews - Tan Thanh homestay has a cosy feel and seaview is stunning and relaxing. The staff are incredibly polite and helpful. Our seaview room did not quite face the sea but it had a nice balcony area with a hammock and outdoor seating. The room was pleasant and well maintained. The breakfast was good and provided by their popular Sound of Silence cafe. The views we had while having our breakfast outdoors was great! Unfortunately, the beach in front of the homestay has eroded and is not swimmable. You can walk down to hidden beach about 5 minutes away. Other minor things like having some chairs in our room would be nice.
Andrea (7/5): Not what we hoped for - Very nice garden but unfortunately the beach has been washed away. Other beaches are close bye but rather dirty. Good coffee shop and breakfast. The accommodation is really dated and given the price we had to pay - you don‘t get what you pay for. The garden is packed with people who are posing for social media or groups arriving by bus. We‘re searching for two days of privacy after our trip but couldn‘t find it.

Denis (9/5): It would be hard to go past Tan Thanh Gardens. - The little touches, the extra smiles……..the staff were a pleasure. My brother-in-law met us in Hoi An, and also stayed at Tan Thanh. When checking in and handing in our passports for inspection, they apparently noticed his birthday was the next day. Without making a big deal, they organised a birthday cake for him at their expense. A wonderfully unexpected surprise, and one that will be long remembered. The weather.

Carol (8/5): Despite the rain & no beach access we loved our stay - Staff, breakfasts & general menu all brilliant. Staff amazingly helpful in every way with trips & anything we needed. Great yoga studio just a couple of doors away too. Easy 10mins in a Grab into Hoi An centre. Unfortunately the beach front is washed away, however the property is still beautiful for sitting at the Clifftop and relaxing or dining. The next beaches are within 5 mins walk away so no problem.
Mandy (10/5): Gorgeous seafront accommodation - This is an absolutely gorgeous place to stay by the beach, a few miles away from the hectic streets of Hoi An. Our room was lovely, spacious with a good shower and bathroom area, and a private terrace area to sit out and listen to the waves crashing nearby. The grounds of the homestay are beautifully kept with lots of lovely seating areas overlooking the sea as well as the café area and a separate comfortable indoor space to chill out in. All the staff were wonderful, from the gardeners who were always quick with a wave and a hello, to the coffee shop staff (who do the BEST iced mocha ever!) to the lovely lady who greeted us on arrival, arranged a trip to Mŷ Sơn and arranged for an early breakfast prior to the trip. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Hoi An. Everything was great :)

Wendy (10/5): A perfect little respite by the ocean - This property is such a little treasure with the kindest, most helpful people managing it. Our three night stay was our favorite part of our two week trip to Vietnam, and I wished we had stayed a longer portion of our trip here. Our accommodations were quaint, clean, and warm spirited. The grounds are lovely (pretty koi fish & tropical foliage abound). The location is a balance of a quiet area that has walkable food and amenities, but also, with a short car ride, you have the fun of Hoi An. Enjoy the sound of the ocean, and you can indulge in the cheapest spa service (as per US prices at least). And thank you, Van, who at the end of our stay noticed I forgot my glasses and a small souvenir, and she helped arrange to have them deliver to my next hotel! Hmmm having to leave so soon and having it be so far to go back too 😩 But seriously, this is not the establishments fault, but I wish the beach itself could be cleaner.
Huw (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were excellent - helpful and cheerful, and went that extra mile to make sure that the guests had a good holiday. The massage was very relaxing and the location was quiet, away from the main An Bang area and closer to Hidden Beach. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby. They did not mention before we arrived that the land leading from the property to the beach had recently eroded and therefore we were unable to lounge on the beach as anticipated.

Somesz9 (8/5): Pleasent stay - Quiet neighborhood as it is a little bit far (~15 mins by car) from the center of Hoi An. Clean room, friendly staff, nice view of the sea, delicious breakfast and coffee, laundry service, minibar in the room. Help in organizing programs, daily trips. There are no lockers, only open shelves to store clothes and this not provides enough storage space. Unstable WiFi. The price of the transfer organized by the hotel is often more than if you book it through Grab. Due to the cool, rainy weather, we didn't have the opportunity to use the beach, but the surroundings are very dirty and littered.

Elena (5/5): Passable - The personnel made an upgrade for us (thank you very much). I can't imagine if we lived on the 1st floor... Wi-fi was good. Coffee and breakfast were good. Dirty beach and everything looks like my father's garden house. May be it is romantic... When someone smokes you smell the cigarettes. There is a cafe with a sea view on the territory and there are always people walking near the houses and looking into the windows, no privacy. The tables with a sea view are always occupied. The hotel is overpriced unfortunately. And in the ancient town on the crowded bridge I was stoled the phone. So be careful.

Tomasz (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice place. Located on the beach (but during our stay due the weather conditions swimming was not permitted). Rooms very clean and spacious, beds very comfortable, breakfast simple, but very tasty. The staff, especially Thao, was very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood very calm (opposite to the city center) with a few good restaurants where you can eat dinner in reasonable price. 10 min by Grab to the City Center (around 60000 dong). Highly recommended place! Nothing, everything was perfect :)

Kent (10/5): Serene... - I had a great stay. It's right on the beach. Quiet and tastefully appointed with a staff that went above and beyond to make sure that I was well taken care of. I highly recommend room #101....a private deck with it's own hammock:-). I'd go back in a heartbeat!
Ece (10/5): Exceptional - + It’s next to the beach. It was super nice to hear the waves. Atmosphere is great during the day. I loved walking on the beach, sitting and drinking my coffee. Even though it was super good for us, I would say it might be a problem for the ones who like partying. It is not in the city. One needs to rent a scooter or go by taxi which takes 10 min. It was super convenient for us though since we spent the day at the beach and went to the city for the night. (65-85k vnd one way for grab) + Breakfast! They offer several optional for breakfast and drinks of which you should choose one of them. Pancake and fruit salad were amazing. Coffee shop is pretty good but dont go for food. + It was clean compared to many places we stayed so far. I especially liked mosquito net. - Neighborhood is not super safe where we also witnessed an issue outside of the hotel. It is not a problem during the day since there are many people around, however I believe there should be a security for the nights. Everybody can enter the hotel area during the night so easily. The door lockers are extremely easy to open.
Christina (10/5): Best hotel in Vietnam! - I loved my stay here so much, I decided to stay for another week. Its honestly paradise on earth. The grounds are amazingly beautiful, green and lush and right on the beach. You watch the ocean while eating your breakfast. There are lots of small lounge areas, and lounge chairs on the beach for guests. Staff are the best, they are kind and accommodating and have made me feel so wellcome and Im truly thankful for them making my stay unforgettable. The rooms are nice, clean and have everything you need. I could have stayed forever. There is a small coffee shop as part of the hotel, they serve lovely drinks and French pastry. There is an amazing yoga studio down the road, and there are plenty of small restaurants nearby on the beach too. All there is left to say is this: hurry, go make your booking! You dont regret it.

Olga (1/5): Bad - Fraud charge from hotel! So we had a booking for 3 nights, the only place during Vietnam trip, where we used a physical card to pay for our stay was this hotel. After that my card has been used all over the world without me! Very disappointed with the hotel staff doing this kind of thing. The hotel was old and not tidy. The sea is dirty, beach is awful.
Ilona (10/5): Exceptional - Sound Of Silence offers also accomodation. We stayed at the Tan Thanh Garden Homestay last week and were extremely satisfied. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. When we forgot our luggage at the reception, they helped us get it to the airport. We also had the chance to taste many local specialties as well as our Western favorites. The accommodation was almost on the beach with beautiful views. The beach had lovely sun loungers with umbrellas, which even came with service. A great experience, highly recommended!
