- 911chandlere (10/5): A rough diamond, but a diamond in the rough - While the facade is hardly flashy and the interior of the lobby reminds one of a businessman’s hotel, we found this place to be a jewel! The service at the front desk was exemplary followed by a clean and quite comfortable room. The price compared with surrounding hotels was excellent for the room quality, although we don’t usually partake in the free breakfast offered by many Hiltons so can’t comment even if there was one. There was no valet parking which didn’t bother us either as the contiguous parking lot had an arrangement with the hotel for in and out privileges. Rooms are not serviced every day unless asked for, but we made the bed, got all the free coffee we needed from the front desk, and had a very comfortable stay. We would definitely come back!

Air conditioner was so loud, it sounded like a rocket was taking off - it alternated between pumping out arctic air and then warm, humid air. We requested it be fixed after the first night; maintenance did look at it but it wasn't fixed. Disappointing experience for the cost.

- Athanasia (6/5): - One of my rooms, 505 was fine , my other room 514 was not very clean, the bed close to the window, on the mattress covers there was dry blood all along the the lining. This makes me believe there may have been bugs at some point and the same mattress cover was used again. That is disgusting. I should have never had to stay in that room when I didnt even sleep in the bed and had to share the other bed!! The night time clerk never answered the phone or they were never at the desk. The day time clerk was very nice. I believe i should be given some room credit ot even a free stay after O experienced this. O can provid pictures if needed.

Expedia tried and called the hotel directly based on our circumstances and they refused to refund us or issue us credit to use at another time. Do not reserve at a hotel like this. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER - FIND A DIFFERENT HOTEL

The front desk staff was not so great, upon checking the man behind the counter barely spoke to us. Did not explain cleaning was every other day nor give us any information on parking even after asking. Just said park in the lot next door. We had to come back and ask about paying for parking and the in and out privileges. Upon check out the other person behind the counter was less than friendly and said 2 words to us. - MySXMVacation (10/5): Above and Beyond Service at Hilton Garden Inn - I arrived after 2:00 AM following a long travel day from St. Maarten, exhausted and without a reservation for that night. From the moment I walked in, Mercedes at the front desk treated me with such kindness and understanding. Adriel, the Front Desk Supervisor, quickly stepped in as well, and together they worked out a solution to get me into a room even though the hotel was nearly full. It wasn’t the room I had originally booked for later that day, but it was perfect — and most importantly, it meant I could finally rest. Their compassion, professionalism, and genuine care made all the difference. Thanks to Mercedes and Adriel, what started as a stressful situation turned into one of the best examples of hospitality I’ve ever experienced. I’ll be forever grateful — and I’ll definitely return to this hotel whenever I’m in Pittsburgh.

We were actually disappointed in the condition of the room considering the astronomical price we paid to stay for 2 nights over the weekend. The floor planks in the bathroom slid around under our feet. The door knob was loose on the bathroom door. The bed was hard. The furniture in the room was very dinged up. It was quiet, the staff were friendly and professional. You had to eat at a restaurant for breakfast. Coffee was provided for a very limited time in the morning. The lobby was shameful. The furniture is stained and threadbare. The carpet was also very dirty. Staying here is all about the location, really. The art district and market square are right there and easily walkable. There are other options nearby. If we ever go there again, I will definitely be checking them out.

Staff sit us in a timely manner, service was not in a timely manner. So we left. Our room was nice no complaints. Surroundings around lots of restaurants to walk to.

And for some inane reason the hotel then started up loud music again around 7am on Sunday morning! The hotel is located in what looks like it is an interesting neighborhood but the Square is under construction so you’re 1/2 bock from all the work. There were also a lot of sketchy people milling around The staff were great except one guy who I believe was the manager this morning. He was very curt and dismissive of questions that several guests had before me, and then of mine as well. He had no interest in trying to help or “go a little extra” to make a guest welcome or accomodate their easy requests Really disappointing

When we asked where it would be served she very rudely said that there would be no breakfast That morning because the server didn’t show up and that it was NOT her problem( not that anyone said it was) on the same day as more family was arriving for the wedding(the reason we were staying there) one of the guests who hadn’t seen the 2 year old twins in a while was excited to see them and was talking to the girls. The same employee at the desk(let me point out that NOONE else was waiting to be checked in) again very rudely said to the elder woman ma’am I need your information for check in. The hotel was clean , great location, convenient and comfortable. This one employee with more than one rude response really turned us off. It was as very unnecessary. The fact that all the guests had to leave the hotel and seek breakfast elsewhere was also very inconvenient, especially when you are on wedding festivity schedules.

- Charmaine S. (2/5): - This hotel is a rip off! We booked a two night stay, and during our check in we were mislead that the parking at the hotel was free. PARKING IS NOT FREE. IT IS AN ADDITIONAL $40 PER NIGHT! AND THEY CHARGE A $50 “INCIDENTAL” fee whether you like it or not! Beware of all the “hidden charges” at the end of your stay.

- Elizabeth (8/5): - The room was clean and comfortable. For a more expensive hotel, I didn’t find the front desk staff 100% professional and parking was expensive.
- Michael (8/5): - Property was clean and staff was friendly. If you are looking to valet a car think otherwise. I was told that there was no valet and their garage was full and I would have to park in alternate lot two blocks away. Plenty of restaurants in the area and the sporting events are walkable. Both nights I stayed there were people, sounded like teens, fighting in the street.

- Michael (9/5): Great hotel in a very good downtown Pittsburgh location - The location is perfect and the facility is very clean & up-to-date. The hotel & parking are pricey as are most downtown hotels.

Walkable to tons of shops and restaurants and a short distance from the ballpark. We walked everywhere it was great. Hotel was quiet and bed was comfy. View was just ok but it’s a city view so I expected what I was getting. Easy check in/out on the app.
