- Michael (10/5): - Very well taken care of property, obviously well cared for and maintained. Our room was huge. The pool was also clear and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only fault I can find is that the breakfast wasn’t very good. Not due to poor preparation or care, I just think the food itself was low quality. One of the better hotels I’ve been in, might be the best hotel in Keystone

- Linda (6/5): - There was lumber lying around the outside of the building. There was a dead fly on the nightstand. Overall, it needs an updating and/or refreshing.
- John (2/5): - We checked in and went to our room; door was on the second floor with outside entrance. We had to dodge all the wasps that were swarming around the door. When we got inside smelled awful and did not look clean. AC was turned on but was not cooling at all. We were in the room about 5 min and in that time 4 wasps stared flying around in the room, not sure where they were coming in. We checked back out and found a different place to stay. Parking is a disaster. I would not recommend staying here. No sure where the pictures of the rooms they have on the web site were taken but sure they were from somewhere else.

- Sherrie (2/5): - I’ll list the minor things first . The hot tub was filthy. Foam up dirty the whole time we were there. The door to the room stuck and was hard to open. Although there was an in room coffee pot, there was no coffee Breakfast didn’t start until seven so if you needed to be out early, you were at SOL No one was ever at the front desk and no buzzer to ring them. You just had to stand there and wait. And finally drumroll, please the shower did not work… after my friend took her shower. It wouldn’t shut off then after she finally got it to shut off it wouldn’t turn back on so I didn’t get a shower and I’m currently arguing with the hotel to get my money back. I wouldn’t stay here if it was the only hotel in the area

- Lisa (6/5): - The king suite was definitely luxurious in size and included a fireplace, but little else. Bed linens were not of high quality and even the bath towels were in short supply-just 2 for the room, when even the chain motels provide 4. The room also had a peculiar, almost musty smell to it and made me glad that we were so busy that we spent very little time in it.
- lisa (8/5): - My original room was in the older section and appeared to not be cleaned. I went to the front desk to complain and without hesitation the receptionist put us in a suite.. very happy with the second room in the new area. The breakfast food was very good, not continental!
- Julie (6/5): - Hotel is old but you can tell they are trying to keep it up. Room was fine. Bathroom was small. Can't sit on toilet unless the door was closed. Toilet very low to the ground. Grab bars are behind the toilet. Shower head is fine if you're under 5ft tall. It was a nice quiet place to stay. Not very much around there but plenty of stuff away.
- Shirish (8/5): - Staff at the front reception desk is one of the best I have seen in 40+ years of our travel. Very professional and friendly group. We had an unusual issue of wasps (half dead) in our room. Apparently, a common, known problem around this time of the year. But, the staff resolved the issue within minutes after I reported it at 10:00 pm. They had to spray around the window and door frames.

- Justin (6/5): - I killed 2-8 wasps that got into our hotel room every day. That needs to be addressed. I would not suggest staying in the outdoor entrance rooms. Pool was nice.
- Peter (8/5): - Place was okay, but we killed two cockroaches , one in the room and one outside our door, we informed the front desk but they weren’t concerned. The water temperature in the bath was warm, not hot. Breakfast was okay, more or less a typical free buffet.

The room was more than adequate, the staff was helpful and friendly, breakfast was good and the nearby dining and activity options were great. There was just nothing to dislike about this place!

- gerald (4/5): - This was one of the most unpleasant stay we had in a very long time. This hotel is just an old, old motel with a band aid on it. We had room 209. We believe the toilet was from 1940. Shame on the motel owner.

- Brittany (6/5): Worse than expected - I knew this would be a basic hotel, but decided to book due to location (proximity to a race and Mt. Rushmore). Was disappointed to see the state this hotel was in. Super dirty vents visible on the exterior of the building, a bunch of gnats camped out by the sink on our hotel, and not clear (slightly brown) water in our toilet and shower. On the plus side, the people working there were friendly and the breakfast was ok, but I don't think I'd stay here again if given a choice.

- Daniel (10/5): Great stay in Keystone! - Just stayed at the Rushmore Express in Keystone this past weekend. The staff was super friendly, check in was a breeze! This hotel is only 2 miles to Mt Rushmore! Nice free breakfast for guests, our room was very clean, very spacious. Lots of restaurant choices close by. The hotel is older, the rooms are a bit dated.

For a very tired traveler like me (on my arrival) those are the traits I would want from hotel staff, aside from fresh clean, safe, and quiet room. Simple but filling breakfast is a cherry on top.
- Gloria (10/5): - Hotel was only 8 minutes from Mt Rushmore and a few more from Crazy Horse. The place is a bit older but very clean. Wonderful breakfast with lots to choose from. The staff is great. I had a big personal problem and Naomi at the front desk was wonderful! I would stay here again
- Randolph (4/5): Look else where if u get a rustic room - The rustic rooms were well rustic, they show all these nice rooms in the pics then you get to the rooms, full of stains and smelled bad, the bed had stains on the sheets. The toilet water looked like someone already used it wven after flushing.over all very very disappointed.

- Randy D (4/5): Location, location - Location is great for Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park. Very old motel, probably built in 1970's. No updates. Carpet threadbare. Shower drain slow, standing in water ankle deep. Outside stairs filthy. No elevator. Breakfast was fine.

And pictures looked nothing like the room I got. I booked because of that and was shocked when I got there. Would never stay there again.

- Penny (4/5): - Our rooms were not very clean, vanity sink didn’t drain, no extra toilet paper and key card would not work! We stayed 3 nights and the breakfast was the very same thing every day. We had 3 rooms that were off the main building. I would be curious to know what the rooms were like in the main building.

You had to ask for toilet paper, there were no spare rolls. The tiny soaps were a joke. They were like single use, actually you needed 2 at a time to get any lather. The towels were odd also. The hand towels were kitchen towels. They advertised a pool and hot tub. But when we arrived said it was closed bc of an incident with the city water. But said it ahould be open in a day or 2. I asked again after day 2 and it seemed they were doing nothing to open the pool. Big disappointment for our daughter and her friend. I would not stay here again nor recommend it.

Thank goodness I brought some Pretty outdated for the amount of money I spent for 2 nights I did expect a bit nicer place Breakfast was limited very little fruit no hot tea Paid quite a bit of money and very disappointing Did NOT stay the 2nd night
