When we went for breakfast there were 3 boiled eggs and small packaged muffins or donuts. No tissue in the room and when I asked for some I was given a packet of ten tissues. Would not stay here again.

• LAUREL (10/5): - What a gem! This is a very cosy, small hotel on a quiet road. Owners were welcoming and provided lovely touches and TLC: there's a patio with flowers, a picnic table by the beach, boats to rent, nice breakfast options (fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs, juice boxes), ice was available and beach towels, etc. We had a room with one queen bed. It was very clean. It was small, but had a desk area, fridge, microwave, and everything we needed. The room's window overlooked a peaceful lake, and we heard loons calling. A grocery store and many dining options are a half-mile down the road. Would definitely stay again--but for longer next time!

• Robert (8/5): - Great lake view. Some issues with tv, possibly due to weather, also no instructions for use and channel selection. Could use more outlets for coffee pot etc. Small table would be nice for table games in room, possibly a folder.
• Brenda (10/5): Worth getting the reservation in early - We stay here while diving at Fortune Pond if we are only in town for a couple nights. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is appointed nicely.
• Timothy (10/5): - This hotel stay was a last-minute add on to our trip. I was so pleased with the accommodations! I wish we could have extended our vacation to stay an extra night. The room was clean and comfortable, and we loved the amenities that we used on the lake. However, what I appreciated most were the way the owners interacted with the guests. When we returned from dinner the owners were building a bonfire, and spent some time talking with the guests around the fire. In the morning, there was a large table that the guests could sit around and talk to each other while eating breakfast. The owners seem to care about their guests, and the experience that they have. I would recommend this hotel to others, and would stay again with no hesitation.

The carpet on the stairs outside of the building was worn and dirty looking. My daughter ended up tripping and falling coming off of the stairs as the transition from stairs to concrete pad was unmarked. All in all, the stay was fine but nothing to write home about.
• Marion (10/5): Lovely Lakeside Motel - Beautiful lakeside motel and cabins. Very friendly, helpful staff. Charming and relaxing, with lake views, boat rentals, and a campfire in the evening!. Clean and comfortable!
• Ronald (10/5): - Retro Motel with UP North decor. Owners very nice. Room was clean with a nice view of lake. Quick sleep with early departure. Easy access to Hwy 2. Modern food/grocery store very close. Gas station in town opens @4am so coffee & donuts are available.

• Patrick (6/5): Pfft! - The room was a good size, however, there was no way to regulate the heat to a comfortable level. It was extremely hot in the room, we had to open the windows in an attempt to cool it down a bit. The knob on the air conditioner was broken. The mattress was very uncomfortable and saggy. Overall for the price it was "okay" but I probably would not stay there again if I was in the area.

We love the beautiful lake (Ice Lake), cozy cabin-style rooms, and kind hosts. We enjoyed looking at the northern lights with Bonnie this year! Very memorable trip, and I’d recommend Lakeshore Motel to anyone staying in the area!

Beautiful knotty pine rooms very clean lots of places to storage your luggage and totes so they are out of the way and then to top that the lake.Our room had a window with a desk that looked right out to the lake amazing view watching the sunset at night was amazing, in the morning went out to the dock and watched the sunrise and took a selfie could not resist was so beautiful and the water smooth as glass very serene and guiet this is definiety our go to motel for a recharge will be goinging back Oh and can't forget the owners BEST EVER!! Mike & Bonnie are wonderful, engage in conversation, need anything they are there to help Loved our time there Steve & Vicki Weber

The staff was very nice, boats are provided for use on the lake, as well as grills, picnic tables, and a fire circle. It was full while we were there, but quiet. The included breakfast was basic, but fine.

Beds were comfortable, towels were thick and fluffy. Breakfast was good. 😌 There was no fan or hooks in the bathroom, no Kleenex, no room phone or alarm. No decaf. Tub doesn’t drain well.

• Noelle (2/5): - I would feel safer at the Bates Motel than this place. I've traveled the world and stayed in some questionable places but I have never been this frightened or verbally attacked, like I was by the owners of this place. The owners, were verbally abusive and not willing to admit fault or apologize for violating our privacy. When my child and I left the room in the morning, we made sure to put the placard on the outside of the door, stating that no service was needed. I double checked because one of my siblings had stayed there and had their room entered too. When we came back, the placard wasn't on the door and it was obvious someone had been in the room. It was a very frightening experience and we felt violated. I went to speak to the owner, and she said to me, "Maybe you didn't put the do not disturb sign on the door". I told her I double checked because the same thing happened to my sibling. She stated her husband found one in the parking lot. Then she said the cleaner had to go in the rooms. She full of excuses but not apologetic at all. I was dismayed at her lack of compassion and walked away from her. She followed me out of the office, yelling at me in the parking lot. I was terrified by her behavior. My child and I did not feel safe there and booked a room elsewhere. When I went to get a refund for the next night I had booked, they called the police. Not worth the terror and fear just because it's cheap. The beds are old and horrible too.

• Thad (10/5): Beautiful location with great owners - It was a quick stop on the way for a quick business trip in the UP! For reference, I generally stay at 3-4 star hotels. These rooms were very clean, beds comfortable, owners very friendly, beautiful setting a couple minutes, to a handful of minutes drive to everything you need in Iron River. Reasonable continental breakfast offered. Super cool guy who is a fish guide on site who will take you out and give you the experience of catching fish! I love Michigan, and I loved this hotel! Would love to stay again!

• Gwilym (8/5): - The owners were friendly and helpful, but the notices in the bedroom were made us feel "threatened"e.g an envelope worded to give a tip to the housekeeper who we never saw/ 3 towels with a notice that they were not to be used for bathing..why were they there?/ notice for the fee for damages to towels ..the one for 1bathtowel would pay for all decent towels in the room . I would not stay here again.
