Shaw-mcgill (6/5): Be cautious ⚠️ - I liked how clean the room was. The staff were noticeably rude, both in person and over the phone. The TV was placed in an awkward spot, making it uncomfortable to relax and watch from the bed. The biggest issue is that I was double charged over a month after my stay—and the charges were for different amounts. That alone raised red flags. When I called to resolve it, the conversation felt rushed and honestly very strange. The person I spoke with seemed nervous and quick to get me off the phone, telling me I’d receive a refund, which I still have not gotten. At this point, it genuinely feels like the charges may have come from the property itself, which is extremely concerning. I also paid at the property, and during check-in, the staff member asked unnecessary personal questions about why I was there, which felt inappropriate. Overall, the entire experience left me feeling uneasy. Between the unprofessional behavior, questionable charges, and lack of follow-through, something about this place just feels off.

Monica (6/5): It was okay for what I paid. - Breakfast was fine. There was cold and hot cereals, a hot buffet, juices, etc. Location was okay for my purposes. The building is well worn. Mostly, although there are plenty of outlets in the room, there are no power outlets specific for phones, computers, etc. because the property hasn’t been updated to include them. Also, it was hard to adjust the air conditioning in the room.

Everything in the room was nice and organized. The room had everything we needed, including water. I wish there had been more breakfast options, like maybe a waffle maker. I've stayed at other Marriott properties, and they have a chef making omelets and provide a lot more breakfast options, including fresh fruit.

Carey (10/5): Just what we needed - We love the location and room layout as well as the breakfast. Coffee is always good as are the potatoes, sausage, and eggs. Beds are comfortable and towels are good sized for my super tall husband. We love that there is not a smell of weed throughout the property. This has become a problem at many other hotels in the area. The coffee service outside of the elevators and non-working tvs/ monitors above the table seem like a forgotten area that could be capitalized on to add to the welcoming southern atmosphere.

EdRockster (10/5): Good price, great staff, convenient location - Due to the threat of ice and power failures in Mebane, we booked a stay for two days at this hotel in Wilmington. After one night, we decided it would be best to extend our stay by a day, and the third-party travel app we used, made it sound seamless. It wasn't. HotWire screwed us over. Instead of extending our stay--which one would assume letting us remain in the same room--they booked a new reservation in a different kind of room and charged $20 more, for a night in less demand! I discovered this when I went to the front desk to just make sure that everything was good. The front desk revealed what HotWire had done. The clerk said that because we had used a third-party booking service, there was nothing that she could do. A little while later, I received a call from the front desk. The clerk had contacted her manager, explained our predicament, and asked for her assistance. The manager arranged for us to remain in our original room. That alone would be enough to make me want to return to this property. But every interaction with the staff was excellent. The housekeepers. The breakfast staff. The bartender. And that same clerk and manager. Such a dedication to customer service. And they did it with use booking through a third-party. You might save a few bucks by using third parties, but third parties do not offer the same kind of commitment to customer service that this property displayed. They have convinced me to use Bonvoy more often. The hotel property is comfortable. The rooms can show a little wear, but they are still pleasant. The bed was comfortable, and the layout of the room was convenient--especially for two people working remotely. Breakfast was mostly adequate with the coffee and pancakes being exceptional. Turkey sausage on most days wasn't great, but the pancakes and coffee! The location of the hotel is great. Just don't trust Google maps to navigate you to restaurants in the same general area of interconnected parking lots. It gets confused. That's an understatement. To summarize, the property is comfortable. The price is fair. The staff is exceptional.

I took it to the desk clerk who stated they do not have bulbs to change them as maintenance does this. She offered to change our room. We appreciate the offer but declined. The clerk offered to note it for staff the next day. This is not a negative for us. I mention as keeping bulbs for lamps stocked where desk staff can access may need to be discussed and considered by management. This may have already been discussed and decided on, but wanted to put it on the table as a suggestion. We are pleased with our stay.

My family waited outside but then decided to get shelter at the movie theater across the street. This was an inconvenience for us.

Inspire12640842326 (2/5): Nasty room - The bathroom was simply nasty as the attached photos will show. This property is not maintained in the least bit. The problems are not one day things but continual neglect as evidenced by the water dripping that has eroded the finish on the shower drain. The built up filth on the toilet paper holders and the mold and mildew on the outside of the shower explain it all. Let’s not forget the sink handle that isn’t attached.

There's plenty of restaurants nearby there's a bar in the hotel as well as a snack area. Most importantly, as a female solo traveler, it felt safe. Don't book on the 1st floor unless you can block out all the noise from the people at the bar laughing/talking. Same thing happens in the morning with the breakfast group.

Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointing stay - The hotel itself is very nice. But we had several issues during our stay. We were assigned a room adjacent to the main lobby, and the noises from the lobby, the ice machine, and people walking in and out was enough to wake us up several times. In addition to that, the fire alarm went off while we were preparing for checkout, and my daughter was in the shower. This set us back and also disrupted the breakfast service. We felt rushed and were unable to eat a hot breakfast due to the lack of food available for the hour following the fire alarm evacuation. Finally, there were small bugs in the bathroom of our hotel room and trash left in the room. When I spoke to the desk attendant about the issues we had, he made excuses for them and was not particularly helpful. Although the location of the hotel is perfect, and the room size and furnishings are ideal, I will plan to stay somewhere else on my next visit.

The carpet in our room was extremely dirty. It appeared to have blood stains and smears starting in the closet and pulled out into the room. Overall, it’s clear the staff stays on top of picking up, changing linens, and taking out trash. However, truly cleaning and wiping down things appear to be less frequent tasks. Lots of things not working like lobby tvs near elevators. Also the wood laminate on the furniture was missing in our room.

Rebecca (4/5): - We liked that the hotel was centrally located from the airport, downtown, and the beach. Staff was friendly, the beds were probably the most comfortable rest I’ve had in years. Our 3-night stay would have been ideal had there not been loud after-wedding parties in the lobby two nights in a row. Our room was on the ground floor and steps away from the front desk. Listening to one of the parties hoot and holler for hours with no end in sight, at 11:45 pm I complained face to face at the front desk after no one at the hotel picked up my calls. It was so loud that the front desk could barely even hear me from all the noise behind us. The front desk said there was not much she could do about the noise except ask them to keep it down. Well, okay and thank you. The hotel did manage to break it up, but will not be staying at this location again.
