We love the set up of the suites with our families and that they have a full kitchen! Easy access to the pool and pool passes included. Everything was very clean and they had great customer service!

- X8794HCkimb (6/5): Stay away from this hotel if you are a solo traveller - Disappointing experience.. They gave me connecting room, when I asked for switch they told that EVERY STUDIO IS CONNECTING. When I told them as I solo traveller I don’t wish to listen other families/ kids next door they told SOLO TRAVEL VERY RARE, THEY ARE FOR FAMILIES. I was just laughing.. then I asked them to upgrade send I am titanium elite with Mariott they refused because I booed on third party. Yes right, why do you sell for less on third party? The morning I raised my concern to the manager, she was extremely rude. Not going to return. They charge for parking and breakfast was very poor too. Whole breakfast area smelled really bad. Absolutely a skip next time.

- travelmomwkids (6/5): Dark room, very crowded parking lot, no privacy, charge for self-parking - Went there to visit Mount Rushmore and Badlands and stayed for 2 nights. They gave us a room on the first floor next to an entrance overlooking the parking lot. Had to keep the curtains closed for privacy (I always request a higher floor, all my requests were ignored). The parking lot was very busy since it's a courtyard of hotels, a water park and a convention center. The room was dark-very dark even with all the lights on. I could barely see anything in the kitchen and had to use my phone for extra light. I couldn't tell if the place was clean or not since it was so DARK!!. Also I can smell the people smoking right outside the entrance and outside the windows. Surprisingly even with self parking I was charged $8.99 for parking per day. Not the most pleasant Marriott stay. I've been a member for over 20 years and a platinum elite, now I'm rethinking cause this loyalty isn't worth anything and many Marriott hotels no longer have member lounges or offer upgrades.

- destinyj554 (4/5): Hidden fees, sketchy AC - Let me start off by saying, the facility is clean, and the staff are nice. However, you will get SCREWED on hidden fees, and there are other issues with the hotel. First off, we got charged three different taxes and some mystery "Box Elder Special Assess" for 11.94. After reading about this, it seems that the business took out some kind of loan and passed the problem onto customers. Cool! We also got charged two different sales tax ("Sales Tax Other Room Tax", and "Occupancy Sales Tax"), and MOST INFURIATUNGLY, we were charged a 4.00 parking fee with a 8.99 "parking tax". They didn't even ask us if we had a car with us, where we parked, license plate, nothing, so this wasn't for any sort of insurance or limited space or safety. It's just to make you pay. It's absolutely insane to charge parking to customers staying at your establishment unless you're in NYC or Hawaii or something, not a giant complex with shared parking lots in a fly-over state. So $40 in hidden fees on TOP of the extra $60 because we had the nerve to book in person due to our uncertain schedule. I checked the price online 20min before we pulled up. $94 to $154 for one night. Plus the extra fees- almost $200. All of that, and the HVAC is terrible. Barely felt air flow in our bedroom, lobby felt stuffy. Our TV in the bedroom part of our room didn't work. Definitely not coming back.

- Kacie (8/5): Best hotel connected to waterpark - I got charged twice from the hotel and hotels.com so had to deal with that but the person was helpful and fixed it after I realized. I also didn’t know there were parking fees. Otherwise, loved that the waterpark is included, nice hotel, great breakfast. The Hispanic breakfast worker was amazing and helpful as it closed at 9 and she helped the late-comers still get waffles. The other lady wanted to just shut it down right away. Although this was the cheapest hotel connected to the waterpark, it was still a bit expensive but also Sturgis time so figures. We will choose this waterpark hotel over the rest in the future as long as price remains cheaper!

The mattresses need replacing badly , they were not the most comfortable... especially for the price we were paying per night We stayed 6 nights and used this as a base and toured around the black hills . There was a hot breakfast available, and was tasty.
- Kent (10/5): - This was the best hotel we stayed at in our 2 week trip. It was incredibly expensive, though $100 cheaper than going through the hotel itself. The water park was really cool, and our 14 year old boys loved it. The room was spacious and cool, with ample room to move. I was really pleased with the size, to be honest, as it was probably double a normal room in another hotel. The carpet was sticky in places, and that was gross. The door knob to the bathroom fell off, and I had to put it back on. And I’m sure the showers are meant to look classy, but they are completely ridiculous and impractical, and you get water everywhere. That being said, it was worth it for the water park. Important to note: the water park is a HAUL from your room. Prepare for a hike.
- susanlS3180JL (10/5): Great Command Central for Adventure - After 7 days on the road, we rolled into this hotel. It was great. Front desk peeps were super nice and helpful and everything, from lobby to room to laundry facility, was clean. We brought our dog with us and they had plenty of dog poopie bag stations and good places to walk. Only suggestion: Don’t charge $15 for parking, it should just be included. Also…for pet sitting while we adventured, we dropped our dog off with Rhonda , she’s on Rover. Super lovely woman who provided our dog with a safe and fun day while we were out and about.

- N59090 (8/5): Great hotel outside of Rapid City, SD - Large suite and perfect size for two adults with two teen grandsons who need space from one another. Comfortable queen beds and sofa pull-out, plenty of good breakfast food for all ages but would’ve liked it open later than 9am for we vacationers. Decent 40 minute drive to and from Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Downside is room’s windows face the interstate so can be noisy at times but was never awakened by traffic. The steel shower drain cover is cool but makes irritating dripping noises when used and the half open shower gets the bath mat soaked. For those with younger children, there is a small enclosed water park attached by hallways that not an extra charge, but our 14 and 17 year old were not interested. We would stay here again but would request a room not facing interstate.

They also did not mention that housekeeping is by request only and that there is no longer a manager’s reception despite it being advertised on the website. I had to ask about when breakfast was and about water park access. It would have been nice to be told those things at check in. The coffee and tea in the afternoon was cold (clearly just left over from breakfast). Both the clerk and manager were quite rude about the discrepancy in the price. For the price point I expected more.

Room smell weird but maybe was from previous guests not sure like a wood or food smell but room was very clean and works good .water park is great and accessible from the hotel thru a connecetion hallway and is secure safe place . Rapid city itself is nice town and lots of food options . water park food is good and good bars in it and decent prices . My kids rate it 10/10 i rate it 9/10 overall . I will return !

- Amanda (10/5): Comfy and Clean - Comfy bed and clean! Residence Inn’s are top of my list of places to stay. My only complaint is the maid service knocked on our door twice to see if we left yet. First time was around 8:30. We should have put the do not disturb sign on the door.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Thumbs down for shower stall - I’ve never liked the way you have your shower stall. A sliding door would allow steam to stay with you and wouldn’t allow for all the water to spray out on bathroom floor. We’ve stayed at Home 2 and they have a perfect set up!!
- Cam (2/5): - We have enjoyed staying at this hotel for almost a decade every year during black hills stock show. It’s always been very clean and staff has been great. This year we walked into our normal suite and were blasted with the smell of pot. So strong we could chew it. My 3 small children put their swim suits on and my husband took them to the water park while I went to the front desk. Front desk said they couldn’t do anything about it. After returning to the room it suddenly had taken on the smell of cigarette smoke which was literally rolling from under the door to the adjoining room next to us. On my way to the bathroom I discovered human feces on the kitchen floor and that someone had very recently showered in the shower. I asked for our room to be recleaned and they said no. They did give us another room, not as nice as the suite we had paid for. The next morning I thought the manager could do something better… like a free stay or at least he reassurance that our stay would be better next year. She actually told me she knew the other guest was using our room, using drugs and breaking hotel policy but she was an extended stay guest and they didn’t want to disturb her!!! I asked for a full refund then. She laughed and said only if we’d leave. No apologies for human feces, our luggage & clothing was rancid from the few hours it was in our hotel room it was that bad. So frustrating!!
- Jason (8/5): - We had an excellent stay! The room was spacious and waterpark for my son was great! My only complaint would be them not willing to refund the last night when we decided to leave a day early.

- Nikki (8/5): State wrestling stay - Very nice stay. I did request a king room, upon arrival, was not given this. Our room had broken plug covers, which not a huge deal, but didnt look the best. Also did request, every other day room tidying, but did not happen, but understand it was an incredibly busy time for staff. Would stay again as rooms were clean, and huge. Nice to have full fridges and dining table.

- Gwendolyn (8/5): nice comfortable room - the rooms were spacious and comfortable. was able to cook with all the dishes and pots and pans the package for new year's I wasn't told at the front desk about the package, so my kids couldn't swim so they missed out on swimming you have to purchase the package to swim which is dumb.

- Roger (6/5): Disappointed - We booked this hotel as it was connected to the water park and we stayed over Christmas , Room was a bit dirty mostly in the kitchen area .My wife cleaned everything with Clorox wipes prior to using kitchen . Beds were okay . We had a room on the first floor and was a little noisy . When you turned the bathroom fan on it smelled like weed , so that’s fun with kids …Probably won’t stay here again .
- Verified traveler (10/5): Family vacation success! - Family vacation…..3 - 2 bdrm suites. So comfortable & spacious. Had all the extras needed in the kitchenette. Loved that the water park was free to all hotel guests as of 1/1/2025! All staff was very accommodating. We had to leave a day early bc weather. No charges.

- 0briem (6/5): Disappointed - When we arrived at 11:15, I went to the front desk where the lady came out from the back acting like I was an inconvenience for her. I asked her if I could check in early because we came 4 hours away. She said they didn’t have any rooms ready. She said to call the front desk at 1:30 and they may have one ready by then. I responded “ok well can we go to the waterpark in the mean time? And do we get a discount for staying there?” She said “yes you can go to the waterpark but no you can’t have the discount until you check in.” Which wasn’t until 1:30 (MAYBE). She was rude and inattentive. The other gentlemen next to her said we’d have to wait as well even though we had reservations. The discount is 20%/person and yes for 5 of us, we wanted the discount. So it’d be about $20 off. My husband asked the gentleman behind the desk kindly if we could go to the waterpark and then come back to check in and receive a discount. He said no you have to check in first. We decided to walk to the waterpark from there (which was convenient) and check it out then see if they’ll sell us our tickets with our hotel discount. She was very overwhelmed and said “after the day I’m having, I don’t freaking care. So yes.” THANK YOU TO HER EVEN THO SHE WAS STRESSED OUT cuz our 3, 5 and 7 year old would not be able to wait a couple hours. The hotel staff was not accommodating or kind in any way from the moment I walked through the doors. Also the side doors to the hotel are loud and cause your room door to wiggle and jiggle like someone is trying to get into the room. That was annoying. I was very disappointed and unimpressed. We won’t be back.

- Andrew (4/5): - We have been staying here once or twice a year for six years due to the water park. Every year but this one has been great. The room was dirty, beds hard as a rock, stayed on the second floor and at 1 in the morning I thought the party on the floor above us was falling into our room.the young man working evening of November 30th was absolutely as rude as he could be when we asked about getting our water park admission that evening. Sad we liked staying here.

- Rachael (8/5): Very nice hotel and great location - Everything was great until we went to take showers. The shower had no door and drained very slowly - not exactly the type of shower you would expect on a family vacation. Other than that, our stay was very nice and comfortable.

- Jet52155325752 (10/5): Best Rv Getaway for family - This is the best hotel connected to Watiky water park: the rooms are very clean, spacious, we had all our cats. And the rooms come with all basic toiletries and cleaning supplies, great smart tv, custom to you, fridge, a lot of coffee, tea, and hot cocoa, a full desk, chair, dressers, tv table, lighting, enough plugs for charging your electronics, enough towels, a full range and all kitchen supplies, dishwasher under the sink. This hotel even access to laundry in the first floor, free good breakfast, arcade, fitness room, mini shop, two restaurants , and the Waterpark. They even have RV parking and it’s free. the front desk people were very helpful and we had the veterans discount package special for Veterans Day, we had a great time, the hotel is near Mount Rush, wineries, the Bear country, and other great places.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel under renovation - Hotel is under renovation. Our room’s bathroom shower had broken fixtures on top of it being a handicap room. Shower was mildewed pretty bad and leaked unless you closed off the tap with all your strength. I called the front desk and was offered a different room but not a suite or only queen beds. I would pick a newer property if possible until they get this one fixed

- Adam (6/5): - It was a good set with the small kitchenette. We liked how the tv moved so you could watch it from the couch or the bed. I have never been to a hotel with more than 3 floors and have only 1 elevator!!
- P7002DVbrittneys (2/5): Horrible manager Margot - The hotel itself was clean, and taken care of, but the manager, Margot, was an absolute NIGHTMARE. We stayed here for a stay and play soccer tournament. We booked through our travel team. We had to put a deposit down on our room through travel teams and it was supposed to be withdrawn from the total of the room. My bank ended up canceling our card due to it being compromised, but fortunately we brought cash with us. We were planning on paying cash for our room, which the hotel was aware of. There was no manager on staff while we were there, until Sunday when we checked out. The manager, Margot, refused to look at my documents and receipts, which had the amount due at hotel on it. I also had bank statements to show the money had actually been taken out of our account. Margot proceeded to interrupt me raising her voice to talk over me, until she was flat out yelling at me in the lobby. I said she didn’t need to yell and be rude I just wanted her to work with me and help me figure out what was going on. She said I was being rude by “ showing her my phone” which was where all the documents were. She refused to listen to what I was trying to say and said she was just going to charge our card on file, which, again, our bank had canceled due to it being compromised. She then said her sales department would be contacting me. It was the most embarrassing, and unprofessional experience my family and I have ever had. Margot, I really hope today was just a bad day for you, and I hope there are repercussions for your behavior.
- Sharon (8/5): - We had a one bedroom suite. Everything was very nice. About the 3rd day, we started seeing small flies and wasps around our inside window. They came up each time we called and killed them. They also gave us a bug zapper. We assumed they were coming in from the A/C vent. Other than that, it was a nice stay.
