- Hermann (7/5): Abenteuerurlaub für Naturliebhaber - Die Lage am See hervorragend und sehr idyllisch. Ruhige Lage. Sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Die Anlage hat Holzhäuschen und eine Motel ähnliche Unterkunft mit mehreren Zimmern. Die Ausstattung ist gut bis ausreichend. Man kann sich wirklich wohlfühlen. Als Übernachtungsmöglichkeit für Wanderurlaub oder Bikertour gut geeignet! Keinerlei direkte Einkaufsmöglichkeiten z.B. um Frühstücksutensilien einzukaufen. Einige Kilometer von der Zivilisation entfernt. Einige Dinge unserer Hütte war außen wie innen reparaturbedürftig. Allerdings war unser Besuch auch zum Ende der Reisezeit (Canadian "Indian Summer")!

The cottages sit right on the lake, so morning coffees came with gorgeous waterfront views. Owners Bruce and Nicole are the warmest hosts—always ready for a friendly chat and quick to answer any questions. We only wish we’d booked a full week, but we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

I especially enjoyed using the kayaks and canoes, and it was so relaxing to unwind on the loungers by the lakefront. A fellow patron was smoking outside of the motel doors so some smoke got into my room.

- shaun (10/5): Enjoyed our stay - Our room was very clean and had everything we needed for our one night stay. This is a nice property on the lake, close to Huntsville and Algonquin Park. We hope to come back and stay longer next time.

Our final stop at Port Carling was particularly memorable. The route itself was breathtaking, with nature's splendor truly taking center stage. The two days we spent in Huntsville were equally wonderful, surrounded by such serene and picturesque landscapes. We are deeply appreciative of your hospitality and the effort you put into making our visit so special. The natural beauty of the area has left a lasting impression on us, and we already find ourselves wishing we could stay there indefinitely. Once again, thank you for being such a gracious host. - Pearl (10/5): It was an excellent stay - It was very clean and a very comfortable stay. No smell. They have a canoe and kayaks in the property for free use. They have gas bbqs, but we brought our own charcoal bbq. We sat near the lake while we watch the sunset. We also enjoyed the bonfire so much. It was a plus. - Tina (8/5): Enjoyed our stay, especially the complimentary water craft and swimming at this fantastic spot!! - The lake was amazing, sandy, shallow, and very warm, what a great swimming spot! Thank you for the complimentary use of a variety of different water craft, it was the highlight for us! We liked that we could park right in front of our room too, and the sliding door was a nice feature which a lot of motels don't have!! The room was lovely and had everything we needed. The matresses were in excellent condition. We found the location perfect. Even though we could slighly hear a bit of the hwy traffic when outside, it was worth it to be close for our other travel plans, and have more time to enjoy the resort. We wish we could have had stayed longer! Our stay was really good, i dont like saying anything negative because we thoroughly enjoyed our time! The room was clean, shower nice, water hot. I appreciated little things like that the blow dryer was very powerful! The sliding door screen was loose and frayed, but thankfully no bugs came in. It was very very hot in the room as it was extreme heat of 35 degeees out. The provided fans did help a lot! We thought "lakeview" in the ad was misleading. You do have to step outside out of the motel to see a partial glimpse until you walk a short distance and can then see it. It is a beautiful property and the view was pleasant, just different than we thought. We recommend people bringing their own paper coffee filters to get the full enjoyment out of the coffee maker. Our stay was fantastic and we would love to come back to colonial bay resort.
- Jane (7/5): A nice setting for a weekend stay although I feel I over paid for what was basically a motel room. - In the setting by the water was lovely and access to swimming was great. There were lots of chairs and lounges to sit around the water and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Sadly it was the hottest day of the summer at 30°C and the rooms have no air conditioning. There were fans provided which offered some relief. The chairs outside the sliding doors on the walkway to enter the room obstructed accessibility when carrying luggage.
- Derek (10/5): - Colonial Bay was the perfect place for us to stay while in town for a local triathlon race. The owners were super friendly and we enjoyed being able to sit by the lake and take out the paddleboards.
