• Robert (10/5): A truly exceptional Onsen Experience - Exceptional inevery way. The staff went out of their way being kind, courteous and helpful. First class operation. My room was Japanese style Onsen with private bath. Stunning, peaceful and quiet. The Japanese Onsen style dinner and breakfast are one of the many highlights. Recommend to wear your hotel provided kimono to enjoy the experience. The hot spring bath in each room (separate building) is the best part. Soak away your stress and enjoy the health benefits from the water. I wish I could hav3 stayed another day. Also, easy walk to Lake Kirin, to town and to the busy street with lots of activities, cafes, restaurants and local treats. Enjoy…. NA all good.

• Anton (10/5): Wonderful ryokan with private open-air onsens - Excellent ryokan in Yufuin. Low number of private houses with open-air onsens each. Attention to details and super helpful personal. Great location a bit away from daily tourists swarm, while within easy walking distance ( and taxi from Yufuin station for evening return).

• ShogunEmperor (10/5): The Staff made us feel at home, away from home. - The place was at the outskirts of town yet very near the popular attractions like the Yufuin Floral Village and Yunotsubo Street. The villas were ideal and spacious, the beds absolutely comfy and the service staff were just excellent and kind. The Chef's on duty always made sure our food were to our liking and personally came out to check that all is well taken care of. June-San and Miata-San went out of their way to make us feel at home including the rest of the staff of the hotel. Every single one of them made sure our stay was enjoyable. Despite all the good stuff.. 1 of the sliding door had a cold leak and the genkan was cold but they made sure the toilets had individual heaters.

• Hing (9/5): A luxurious and peaceful ryokan with the right amount of modern amenities to suit city dwellers. - The environment was tranquil and quiet, which made our stay very relaxing and peaceful. The staff, who were mainly Japanese and speak only enough English to be able to communicate with guests, provided exceptional service at all times. Food quality was excellent and delicious. They were very careful with guests with dietary restriction and checked to be made what can and cannot be eaten by guests. For our room, the toilet was located a little further from the bedroom, which can be chilly when we walk there in the middle of the night. But not a big issue really.

• Alex (10/5): - Everything about this property was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The staff went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were met. They made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast and dinner were also exceptional - everything was fresh and tasty. Rooms were clean, well-maintained, and beds were comfy. Couldn't recommend this property enough and will definitely be back in the future.

• Hanh (10/5): Great onsen experience - I had a great time staying here. The hotel provides pick-up from Beppu station as it locates far from main town. But just a 20’ drive. Not bad. The place is not big, but room is spacious. Bed is comfortable. Room has basic amenities but is clean and warm. The in-room onsen offers privacy and comfort. The food is superb. Meal is very delicious: breakfast and dinner. Each meal always keeps you full until the next. So much food. But the highlight would have been the staffs. They are exceptionally friendly and welcoming of guests. Always smiling and helping with everything you possibly need. I would definitely recommend you to stay 2-3 nights to enjoy the most of the place, and the town. Nothing i could think of

All staffs were very nice, especially the lady named June (very lovely). Food is excellent on both meals. • Sylvie (10/5): Confort et équipements fabuleux, repas exceptionnels - Vous logez dans une petite villa individuelle, spacieuse, bien équipée (fauteuils, canapés, nécessaire pour le thé ou le café...) et très confortable. L'onsen privé en pierres, à l'extérieur, est superbe. Les repas sont fabuleux et le chef vient lui-même s'assurer que tout vous convient. Attention toutefois : si, comme nous, vous ne souhaitez pas manger d'aileron de requin (par principe), il faut les prévenir à l'avance car ils en mettent souvent dans certains plats ou soupes. Proposer d'eux-mêmes des alternatives aux plats d'aileron de requin, sans doute prévu pour plaire à la clientèle chinoise (environ un quart des touristes étrangers au Japon)
• Mia Seng (7/5): Good renovated rooms let down by poor onsen conditions. - Room is nicely renovated. Food of decent quality. Good privacy. Onsen water flow is weak, water level and temperature fall. Tap to fill hot water in Onsen is faulty. Could have better lit up the garden area. A little more food for the kaiseki.

• Shanand (10/5): Money well spend! - We received a free room upgrade! The room was gorgeous and the rotenburo was amazing. We have enjoyed it very much. Staff was really accommodating especially with our one year old baby. The most memorable thing maybe was the man who kept waving after we departed, that was heartwarming to see in the rearview mirror. Beautiful memories made here! There was a sewage smell in the shower. That was distracting sometimes from the superb stay. There were no bathrobes that was a shame. I think they want to be very attentive and at our disposal al the time but at the Kaiseki diner there was a very high pace which made us feel very rushed especially dealing with a one year old haha. Dinner and breakfast were great though!

The room was even better than the listing pictures suggested, the staff was so kind and helpful, and we felt very well taken care of. We had a slight issue figuring out how to keep our onsen hot and it was fixed right away. I completely recommend staying here. Every room has its own private bath, and all the rooms are separate buildings. It’s so private and relaxing. We accessed the property with a car and it was incredibly easy. We didn’t opt for the kaiseki dinner, but breakfast was fantastic!

• Helen (10/5): Luxurious Onsen Experience - Quaint luxury ryokan tucked away from the main attractions of Yufuin. It’s a short drive from the “city center”, convenient enough to enjoy the buzz out and return to a peaceful restful night. Shuttle is provided by the ryokan to/fro city center but we didn’t make use of it because we drove. Shuttle to return to ryokan was 5pm which was too early for us to call it a day. We had to get dinner outside as we didn’t manage to book half board. Only breakfast was included in our booking. The breakfast was very yummy. It’s a pity we didn’t get to try their dinner. Well, next time… The room was very clean and spacious. Even though we felt very rested, we would have preferred firmer pillows. The pillows were a tad too soft for neck support. We love the private onsen the most. It’s so nice to be able to dip into the onsen as and whenever we feel like it. We were reluctant to leave as it was just so nice. Absolutely love love!! The staff were most friendly and helpful. They made us feel really at home. Thank you.
