Smells and is very clean honestly the first time I stayed here the staff was so nice, overly nice and helpful. This time the lady that checked us in wasn’t. - Amber (10/5): Excellent place to stay! - Traveling with young children is always a lot of work. The front desk Clerk was amazing! It was quick and easy, she offered up fruit to the children, asked us what floor we'd be most comfortable on. That first initial interaction hands down made the whole stay worth it! I have no complaints. Being that close to the interstate, I expected to hear a lot of traffic noise but the rooms were so quiet!

- Kottke (10/5): Was an excellent hotel to stay at that made us feel very much at home. - My Friend and I had a wonderful trip to Midland. The Spark by Hilton Midland South was an excellent choice for our stay. It was clean, and the room was very spacious and had a/c (which being in the dessert was definitely needed). The staff that we interacted with were all very nice and made us feel as if we were at home. The side/rear entrance door to the hotel has a sensor that you are to tap your room key to to open to be let into the building, and sometimes during our stay my friend and I would try to enter the hotel this way, but we found the door already open or not latched closed tight.

But it’s safe and pretty convenient with a Walmart literally next door. Wish there could be more breakfast choices. Overall it’s good value, decent and as expected.

- NorthStar572055 (4/5): BE WARY - The place was fine overall. It looked clean, and the staff seemed friendly. That said, they should be advised not to interact with service dogs. One employee, who appeared to primarily speak Spanish, may not have understood the signage on my dog’s vest. It wasn’t a major issue, but at a hotel that accepts service animals, this kind of awareness should be part of staff training. I'm leaving a low rating because of a specific issue. If you're staying here with a dog, take photos of everything. We were charged an extra cleaning fee after checkout for "dog treats and fur everywhere" on the "bed and floor." I have a Doberman who is a trained service animal. He’s not allowed on beds or furniture, and he was with me the entire time. We checked in around 10:40 PM, went to bed at about 1:30 AM, and checked out by 10:30 AM. He had his own bed and stayed on it the entire night. No grooming took place, and as anyone familiar with the breed knows, Dobermans shed minimally and require very little grooming. There were definitely no treats on the bed. TEHO, but I don’t like animals on the bed—this just doesn’t happen in my home or in any place we stay. The only incident was that he nudged his food bowl and spilled a few pieces after eating. I cleaned up what I could see right away. Maybe a couple of pieces blended into the carpet pattern, but it wasn’t anything that would justify a cleaning fee. It honestly felt like they tacked on a charge just because I had a dog with me. I only found out the details of the charge after I called to challenge it. If you're traveling with a pet, take pictures to protect yourself—otherwise, you might get charged for something that didn’t happen.
