Guest Reviews
- Victoria (10/5): Really comfortable room. - Really comfortable room with large bed and good shower. Friendly staff and good location. Didn’t have breakfast as room only rate. Nothing but a bit expensive for room only.
- Edith (9/5): -
- Alan (10/5): We had a great time hotel is in a great location but somehow out of the way - Great location Nothing
- Janet (9/5): - Great location, staff where very friendly and welcoming couldn't do enough. Place was spotless although a little dated. Only down sides was the noise from traffic early in the morning and I know it sounds silly but the light bulbs where very dull a brighter bulb in the lamps would be great and also bulbs of the same light on the ceiling not different bulbs I.e. two warm light one bright which was in the light fitting 3 bulbs of the same light would look more professional

Excellent breakfast Nothing to dislike
- AllyJ56 (8/5): - Friendly and homely, terrific breakfast Room was a little cold, heating could be improved
- Carol (9/5): -
- Barry (1/5): Poor - Room was dirty, dirty stains on towels, and bugs crawling on the floor Very very dirty
- Bernadette (8/5): -
- Kate (8/5): Nice hotel but expensive - Room was basic but adequate. Enough space bad comfy bed. I felt that the price was very high. We wanted to be close to my daughter's flat or would have stayed somewhwe cheaper. Add to that the dogs change of £20 PER DOG PER NIGHT, which is normal for a hotel but makes me mad. it was a very expensive night. I understand a dog charge but I can't understand charging for both dogs? Neither made any mess although I appreciate more cleaning may be required for hairs, but not per dog. £20 extra would be reasonable, not £40 in my opinion.
- Young (8/5): - The location was ideal being on the sea front. I was in room number 7 which has a king sized bed, extremely comfortable. The room had an oil heater that made the room nice and cosy. I couldn't really fault anything about the hotel. The only minor complaint is the lack of sugar on the complementaries tray, but I should have pointed that out to my host
- Stephen (6/5): - Bed comfortable and affordable overnight stay A bit dated the rooms but reflective in price good value for money
- Hazel (8/5): The staff were very friendly & helpful and made me welcome . - It was convenient for where I wanted to be and staff were very friendly & helpful

- Emma (10/5): The tranquil escape we needed - A great location, so close to the seafront, a very short walk from the centre but lovely and quiet! Such a lovely spacious room with a huge comfortable bed we slept so well! Very dog friendly. Lots of great advice from the owners, we took their recommendations and had a wonderful few drinks, meals and a trip out on the ferry we might not have found otherwise. An exceptional breakfast with plenty of choice and cooked perfectly. We booked our stay after visiting family in Scotland but already want to come back! Having to leave!
- Frank (10/5): Very relaxing - The location to the waterfront and town. The breakfast was one of the best.

- Martine (10/5): - An absolute gem of a place, perfect hosts, amazing food, and the most comfortable bed ever. I will certainly be back I have stayed in places that charge twice the price that are no where near as nice as here.
- Ryves (5/5): Great for a pass through - Staff where friendly, breakfast was amazing!! Beds where comfortable. Place very dated, damp smell as walking through the door! Odd furniture everywhere! Even tho the beds where very comfortable there was no headboards on the beds. Plus room was small! No where to do hair or make up. Or get ready as such. Excepted more for £130 a night! Plus could see right into the neighbours house next door!
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Robert (5/5): we will not be back - access to the town an online pre visit checking in form was totally unnecessary, being approached in the carpark as we loaded our luggage as the owner thought we were running off without paying, yet he was not around when I earlier wanted to pay, this was totally over the top, and unnecessary. We have travelled all over Europe and not had this experience previously. The owners excuse was that he has not signed up for the Booking .com prepayment system. His problem, hardly ours.
- Maria (9/5): -
- yvonne (10/5): -
- MICHAEL (7/5): - Location Very dated. Small room, bed hard
- helen (8/5): - All good as good
- KANCHAN (6/5): It was adequate -
- Catherine (5/5): - The breakfast was good The hotel is very very well used
The bathroom facilities in our room need replacing
- Anne (6/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): A very pleasant stay as usual. - We didn't breakfast at the hotel this time but I have done before and it was fine. The location was good. Slightly outside the town centre but that was what we wanted. Nice comfortable room and en-suite. Pleasant staff too. Nothing, everything was fine. Third time I have stayed there.
- Alasdair (7/5): -
- Elaine (6/5): Cheap & cheerful - Good location Room very compact & needs updated
- Edna (8/5): Enjoyable stay , will definitely be back. - Staff were very friendly , location was great and room excellent. That the bar closed a bit early.
- Susan (9/5): Perfect - Ideal location, very clean, superb choice of breakfast very accommodating. Leaving 😄
- Gillian (9/5): -
- Ann (8/5): Accessible, - On arrival the hotel smelled of damp but the room was excellent. Clean, Lovely and bright with tea and coffee facilities. Toilet was spotless. The.owners were friendly and accommodating, it had a well stocked bar. The breakfast was very enjoyable, lots to choose from,. The full breakfast was particularly great and definitely a full plateful. We didn't like the musky smell at the reception. We also were a bit put out when the gentleman asked us to pay a bar bill on departure as we had paid for our drinks at the bar when we ordered.a
- Paul (7/5): Would stay again - Location and cost Breakfast was so so.
- Tiger traveller (7/5): Not a bad stop over but more suited to workers. - Nice big room and bed with a balcony. No food served the night we were there and the beer tasted off.
- Michael (9/5): -
- Ian (6/5): Okay to use for one night's stay. - Breakfast was good, staff were friendly Shower/bathroom is small. No comfy seating in room, felt that it could to with an upkeep decoration wise. No good if you have difficulty climbing stairs, especially carrying suitcases, no rooms downstairs.
- Bob (7/5): - Breakfast was very good, room was comfortable- staff were very good Looks a bit worn- needs a coat of paint
- Christian (6/5): Lovely wee place , good hosts but needs little updating - Situation of hotel was good , clean n tidy , hosts were nice n pleasant , outside was nice and inviting , good parking , enjoyed my fry up breakfast the woodhouse grill. For my price for single bed & breakfast including own shower n toilet seemed a little expensive for couple of nights , but for location I get it a little , building inside a little worn and tired , could do with a little upgrading ,as much as there was a menu I didn't know where to find cereals etc. Till my second day having breakfast , the display could have been better too as everything wasn't matching in same containers too bit mis- matched , I found the bar to be most dearest for drinks too compared to in town.
This is of course my own personal review...
