Guest Reviews
- JAMES (8/5): -
- Bill (9/5): It was very good -
- Mary (6/5): A decent place to stay if in the area as there are limited options. - Staff are hard-working. The room was clean and it was quiet, despite being located close to a busy road. Outside grounds could use some attention. Beds were hard.
- James (8/5): - No breakfast offered I didn't like that the price that I paid for online was different than the price at the hotel I got charged over $10 more.
- Judith L (8/5): Great place to spend the night! - I really like staying here when I’m going to an event at St. John’s Church. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Directions on how to work the TV. But then, all of a sudden - it worked! I did wish that there were more broadcast channels like NBC and CBS.
- Tatiana (7/5): -
- Jody (5/5): -
- Padjen (7/5): The room was suitable - I didn't eat breakfast. The room was cold.
- Joe (5/5): -
- Judith (10/5): Great place to stay in Elkhorn, WI - I was attending a meeting in Elkhorn, and this was the best place to stay! Very clean and friendly staff. I had to ask for the password, which wasn’t really a problem.
- Bronstad (9/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Tarig Alhossomi (9/5): -
- Gesselle (8/5): -
- Gesselle (8/5): As I expected for the amount I paid, but it would be nice to use a bathtub when a bathtub is actually advertised - Convenient park right in front of your door The stopper in the bathtub didn’t work and the shower would leak water when you try to fill the bathtub
- Langel (4/5): Wouldn't stay there again, would pay a little more for a nicer place and free breakfast. - There was no breakfast.
I had to go to a local coffee shop for breakfast. It was the worst mattress I've ever slept on. There were 3 "well used" pillows for a king sized bed. I woke up with a terrible backache.
It was the weirdest thing, they had a really nice sink/faucet in the bathroom, but the tile and tub were original equipment.
- Gesselle (10/5): Great value - Simple Nothing
- Hitch (6/5): - The beds were uncomfortable. You can feel the springs.
- Phil (10/5): - Outside looks a bit rough, but rooms, at least my room, was very clean and cool. Cathedral cedar ceilings, has a great old Wisconsin look. New carpet and tile in bathrooms. Very comfortable. Staff very nice, English not great, had a bit of issues talking with them, but they were helpful. Would recommend and will stay again next year when I come back up here.
- Bohdan (6/5): -
- Amy (10/5): - We stayed here because it was very close to the Alpine Music Festival venue. It was very expensive and needs lots of updates, but it worked for us for this event!
- Jeffrey (4/5): - Like from the 1960s.
- spalding (1/5): - Paid for a king bed and got to fill beds. Me and my wife had to sleep in different beds to be comfortable. Got checked in for them to move use on to a different room because we had a cat. They were rude about that. Try to say that didnt allow cats when there was nothing about that posted at all. Will never stay there again, I would suggest taking them off of booking.com
- Brennan (1/5): Save your money go somewhere else - Dirty Big everywhere
- Tessa (10/5): -
- Larry (10/5): -
- Mary (10/5): - Very nice kinda a rustic feel. Super nice owners. Would definitely stay there again
- Kris (10/5): It was nice and would recommend! - It was nice and clean
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (8/5): Very good - The employees were amazing! Stained towels and sheets, but other than that, nothing bad
- William (6/5): Not much to look at from the outside, but the rooms was clean and comfortable - The room was clean
- Amanda (8/5): - Hotel was cute and quite. Has both inside and outside access. Shower pressure was good same w hot water
- Terry (10/5): - Very clean and very nice staff.
- Thomas (1/5): Pet prices high - Location No breakfast, very high pet prices
- Christine (8/5): - Reserved through a 3rd party. Needed a room w/2 double beds and was pet friendly but one wasn’t available. We worked it out in the end. Also, wasn’t told that there was a extra $20.00 pet charge per dog.
- Lisa (8/5): - All the basics. The TV was a pain because you have to enter a code before you can watch a show, repeat for each channel. We weren’t given a code upon check in. We just guessed 1234
- Mary (8/5): - Everything was absolutely great until bath time and then had to wash ants out of tub every time. It was the flying kind so it could just be the time of year. Other than that it was great! Location, cozy, scenery, it has it all. I would definitely recommend.
- Rick (4/5): - We’re checking in is was dirty and filthy. It looked like an old Motel not taking care of the plumbing. The shower backed up and the toilet backed up. They’re dirty sheets and pillows, and nobody bothered to come and change out the towels. I wouldn’t stay there no more for sure.
- Rita (8/5): Very good - The bed was comfortable. The room was clean, and I appreciate it being pet friendly.
- Walker (3/5): It wasn’t worth the price - Location, parking Dirty towels hanging in the bathroom. We left and came back to our key not working properly. The guy at the front desk came and jammed the key in hard and got it open. They did t let us know where we could get ice
- Vicky (8/5): - Was pleased with my stay.
- Linda (10/5): - Quiet and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Barbara (6/5): Motel a short drive from Lake Geneva offers decent, no-frills accomodations. - Room was quiet and hotel was a short drive from Lake Geneva without being too expensive. We had trouble sleeping comfortably due to the stiff mattresses and uncomfortable bedding.
- Greg (8/5): - Staff were pleasant and helpful.
- Dawn (8/5): - There were updated rooms, however, the door wasn't flush with the threshhold. You could see light from outside. We put towels in the crack. The crack is large enough that critters could probably get in...snakes, mice etc.
- Tim (10/5): Elkhorn Antique Market - Great small motel in Elkhorn Wisconsin. The exterior was clean and well maintained. The rooms were updated and clean. The mattresses and pillows were comfortable. It was obvious the owners take well care of this motel. I will definitely stay again the next time I visit Elkhorn.
- Kathleen (6/5): It was good. - left too early for breakfast, so can't reply to that question The space for personal belongings ie: curling iron, tooth brushes, makeup, etc
Also wish we could stay in June and August, but the rates are WAY out of our budget!
- James (2/5): - Owners were very rude and entitled. Barely spoke any English. Trash all over outside. Dog poop by the rooms.
- Damilare (1/5): Bad -
- Sandra (8/5): Very good -
- Margaret (2/5): - I never stayed and both the hotel and hotels.com refused refund
- shannon (8/5): - Nice budget property. Thanks!
- Valerie (2/5): Absolute crap hole - This place is a joke I do not recommend anybody staying here. They do not clean the rooms you have to argue to get clean towels and the staff are extremely rude. I asked for clean sheets on the bed as I stayed here for 2 weeks and they told me that they don't give out clean sheets until the person checks out. I had to clean and vacuum my room myself the whole time I was there. I had to argue to get toilet paper. And then they tried to tell me my children were not allowed to be there.
- Teresa (1/5): Bad - No heat
- Donald (1/5): no good - nothing they did not tell me that would not have electric, no water and heat after 10 pm. they say they can to my room and pound on the door and did answer. I was out for dinner they could left A message on the door. I woke up it was dark in the room try to find my phone and fell down. Called them that the power was off 10 to 6 am. no heat, water and lights
- Tamae (8/5): Very good -
- Nicholas (1/5): Rude and gross - They made us feel like we were intruding. They wouldn't give us new towels unless we brought the old ones to the front desk. Never did any house keeping despite us asking. Bugs and mold. Our feet were black from the gross carpet.
- Geoffrey (1/5): Shouldn't have to pay twice for one stay - I've been charged twice and I'm having to deal with the credit card company to refund one of the charges I have been charged twice for my one stay
- Hugh (8/5): - Quaint, independent motel with a bit of a mid-century modern vibe. Efficient, friendly check in.
- Candace (6/5): - Very friendly staff, loved that a bar and cafe were within walking distance. The beds could be bigger and I was hoping for a mirror in the room
- Patricia (2/5): - Construction, hard to reach hotel due to construction, lobby smelled. Trying to cover up smell with spray.
- Michael (10/5): - Great inexpensive motel
- Andrew (7/5): Very nice. - Place is nice and quiet. The rooms and interiors are "old school". You even get an old fashioned key to your room. But getting there can be quite nerve wracking and somewhat troublesome because of the road construction. Other than then that, a nice little get away. The road getting there.
- Tollefson (8/5): Very good -
- Kelly (8/5): - Stayed there overnight for a concert at Alpine Valley. Very close to venue! Finishings were dated, but room and bathroom were spotless clean! Very quiet there too. Seems to be owned by a small family. They were very nice. Would stay there again
- Donald (5/5): But better than what you said kind of scared me I had to check it out before I came in the next day - Add construction around this hard to get into hard to find
- Robert (6/5): - We enjoyed the stay. Road construction makes it difficult to get to. I’m sure they’re struggling a bit. We like the roadside motels. The beds were not comfy… place seemed clean for the most part. We did have one big concern and addressed it with front desk. Overall, I’d say it was worth a nights rest.
- Alan (4/5): Disappointing -
- Scheunemann (5/5): We pretty much got what we paid for - Owners were very nice and the place was clean. Bed was very uncomfortable. Air conditioning worked but was very loud and temperature was either extremely cold or hot.
- Nancy (8/5): Very good - The roads were under construction and we came in late at night and we were on roads that said they were closed to get to the property.
- Valerie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roberta (10/5): - Peaceful and quiet.
- Carpenter (1/5): Bad -
- Poggensee (8/5): Good inexpensive motel near Lake Geneva - Clean & Comfortable room
Great Ice machine!
- Nichole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (10/5): - Room was clean and simple. Exactly what we were looking for.
- Erica (7/5): Overall a good stay for the short notice trip - Location Bed
- Elizabeth (7/5): Good -
- Joe (5/5): Passable -
- Nicole (8/5): Great 70's motel - This place is iconic for us, we stay here every year. And we'll stay here for years to come! Everything could be steam cleaned
- Shawny (1/5): Worst place I ever stayed - The sheets were filthy we slept on top of them. The tub was disgusting. We checked out a night early and lost a 150.00 but figured it was better to stay somewhere where we weren’t afraid of bugs. The main guy was nice on Friday but Saturday they didn’t have a clue and actually had to call the guy on Friday so I could explain why I was checking out and when he called he shoved the phone at me and didn’t even explain to the person he called why he was calling or that he was putting a guest on the phone. The whole experience was just horrid. Plus it said pets allowed but when you got there no pets so I’m very lucky I didn’t bring mine. I couldn’t tell you what breakfast was like because we figured if the rooms were that bad we had no idea what the kitchen would be like. That was a hard pass. This place was not worth the 275.00 that I spent for the two nights. We quickly named it the Bates Motel. Never again!!!
- Ben (7/5): Good -
- Frank (4/5): - This place was very dicey. The rooms smelt of Moth Balls. Carpet and furniture has not been updated since the 70s. The room were small and looked like they haven't seen the light of day in decades. Staff was barely there and whoever was there couldn't understand what I was saying to them. Would never stay here again. The only reason I stayed is because of the concert I was going to at alpine
- Jule (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mullen (8/5): Very good -
- Mariel (1/5): Do not stay here unless you like cockroaches. - The motel was dirty, dusty, didn’t appear as though it had been cleaned. There were multiple cockroaches found around the room and stains on the bedsheets. We didn’t stay and neither the hotel or booking.com would give us a refund.
- 932marielh (2/5): Cockroach friendly - My friend and I couldn’t stay here after finding all these cockroaches. 🪳 Motel would not give me a refund and neither would booking.com. The room was dirty, dusty and the bedsheets stained. Worst part is we were in town for a sold out concert so the room rate was $255
- Jennifer (9/5): Stayed one night for concert nearby, while overpriced I’m sure due to lack of option, it did the job - While outdated, which we do not care about it was extremely clean, staff was friendly and accommodating Beds weren’t great but totally fine for a night
- Torey (4/5): Disappointing - Spacious. Convenient to Alpine Valley shows. Beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. The bathroom was gross. Not worth $300+ we paid for a sold-out show weekend.
- Gina (4/5): Not good for Alpine concert goers - The bed was so uncomfortable. I felt the springs in my back all night. There was no security lock dead bolt, so I felt like an intruder was going to burst in at any second. I also felt like the entire room had mold, which wrecked my sinuses. I was freezing all night, because the AC worked well, so that was a positive. I went after a concert at Alpine. All roads were blocked from venue to the hotel, so people had to double back to get to the hotel. Overall clean, save a couple hairs by the tub that weren't mine. I wore flip flops. I felt it was not worth what I paid for the room.
- Lee (10/5): - Room was clean and worked for what we needed.
- Michael (3/5): Great for closeness to venue, booking. Com ripoff - Owner was fantastic $440 for a $60 stay
- Claire (5/5): Second time there but we’ll go elsewhere next time. It’s just in need of a thorough update. - Proximity to Alpine Valley So outdated. There was a pair of socks and underwear on our floor that didn’t belong to us!
- Amanda (6/5): - Check in was fine. Just super expensive for what was offered. Bathroom clean, bed though was uncomfy unfortunately and the vending machine aaid "cold drinks". They were not cold. Good thing for the fridge, but still. Ac was nice though
- Gregory (8/5): Very good - A nice, quiet stay! Comfortable room, though the beds were a bit firm for my taste.
- Threedoos (2/5): No blow dryer but they do have cockroaches - What has happened to this place? I’ve stayed there for the same event three years in a row. The first two years my stay was nice. Yes, it’s an older hotel but it was clean and quiet. This year I woke up to cockroaches in the bathroom. I removed all my things from the room. At 8am I had to wake the guy up at the front desk who didn’t speak enough English to understand my complaint about bugs. He just stared at me in his dirty wife beater shirt with a blank look on his face. When I came back later the next day the family that runs the place was eating dinner at the table outside. One of the guys got up and took a piss in the bushes right outside my room. There were some dodgy looking people hanging around the back. I left. At $130 a night I expect a little bit more class than a halfway house.
- Ricardo (2/5): - We found roaches in the bathroom floor???
- Kathleen (6/5): Pleasant - The location Coffee pot was not cleaned from the previous people.
- Rob (6/5): - The website said my room would be $126, but the motel charged me $135 for my room. The clerk at the front desk was unable to explain the difference. Only $9, but still annoying.
- Stephen (5/5): Passable -
