Guest Reviews
- Sandra (8/5): - Room was so far from the entrance..husband has disabilities and can't walk far. Hate the Roku tv service.
Room was clean and beds were comfortable.
- irina (6/5): - It was my first and last visit.
- Sheilla (6/5): - It’s very quiet, swimming pool is closed cause disappointment and breakfast is all the same for two days.
- Wendy (8/5): - The Staff at Super8 Morden were amazing. Worked very hard and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant.
- Acela (8/5): - Love the place walking distance to Colert beach.
- Mark (6/5): - Felt old. Continental breakfast was done poorly. If you need a cheap room that is clean. This is the place for you. But if you are looking for more this is not the place. Wouldn’t stay here again.
- Kara (4/5): - This property needs a lot of TLC and some upgrades. It is felt unclean and we were not comfortable staying here but we’re looking for something a little less expensive. It was slightly less than the Best Western up the road and we should have splurged and stayed there.
- Maricel (10/5): - All is well and nice people and staff
- Jennifer (6/5): - Bed and pillows were comfortable. Lighting in the bathroom and hallways was dim.
- Karla (8/5): - Everything was convenient; stores, playground and other entertainment. The facility needs good cleaning so that the guests will feel confident in using the hotel amenities.
- Jean (2/5): Very poor - Location was convenient for us Worn out and dated. Breakfast only ran until 9 and wasn't restocked. Over priced
- Timothy (8/5): - We liked that we could bring our dog. The pool was nice, too. It was also convenient that there was a beer vendor in the hotel.
- agolddog (8/5): - A bit out of town, so it's nice and quiet. Clean, spacious room.
Breakfast a little disappointing. Just cereal, bagels, and toaster waffles.
- Megan (2/5): - This hotel is run-down and somewhat dirty. It didn’t seem like anybody worked there. There was no soap in the shower and the white shower curtain had something green on it. The beds were uncomfortable. The pool was also in rough shape with jagged tiles sticking out on the deck. The continental breakfast didn’t look open as the chairs were still on top of the tables, although there were some options to choose from. The surrounding area is really nice, but we wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.
- Barbara (10/5): - Although this property is dated we had a very nice stay. The wifi was great, the rooms were clean with nice amenities, the kids loved the pool and the hot tub was hot.
- Dwight (6/5): - It was not terrible, but was not particularly clean or in good repair. Three light bulbs in my room were burned out and had to be replaced when we checked in. I went to the front desk with the burned out ones and they gave me new ones to replace them with - didn’t offer to come and replace them.
The complementary breakfast was not good.
- Melanie (8/5): Clean comfortable and good value for the money. - The room was clean and comfortable and the shower was nice and hot, with good pressure. I liked that the TV has Roku. The service was good. It would have been nice to have hard boiled eggs or something similar as an option with the breakfast instead of just the sweet stuff.
Good value for money.
- 95barbaraj (10/5): Stay close to the beach. - For a dated motel this place was pretty good. Fast internet, nice bathroom amenities, clean sheets, comfortable bed. The kids loved the pool, the hot tub was hot. Breakfast was as said, continental. Good coffee, yogurt, muffins, cereal. bagels, toast and ego waffles. Real cream and butter.
I feel it could have been a bit less expensive.
- Tonny (6/5): - The rooms are ok the overall building needs a good cleaning.
- Louise (4/5): - Bed was clean, bathroom was clean although shower curtain was a bit mildewy, no upgrade to room. Couch was in bad shape dirty and some rips as well as chair at desk. Was continental breakfast served bagels but no knife to cut except plastic, day old muffins, weak coffee, we went out for our breakfast. When you rang bell for service although staff was nice & helpful took forever to get to front desk. Would not stay there again.
- Koralee (8/5): - Was a great stay all around!! Pool/pool room and personal bathroom could have used a better cleaning!
- Assylbek (10/5): Exceptional -
- sherry (2/5): - It was all that was available for my 2 day stay
- 87cherriea (8/5): Budget friendly Hotel for BIG FAMILY - We were thrilled to discover that the hotel's ideal location made it easy for us to explore different towns. The rooms were comfortable and perfect for a restful night's sleep. Returning for the second time was a treat, and the owner's generous offer to let us enjoy the pool until 11pm was the icing on the cake. For large families like mine, this hotel is a fantastic find.
- Cherrie (8/5): Amazing Budget hotel for big family - We adored the hotel's crazy-convenient location, a chill retreat. While the rooms were pretty basic, the swimming pool was a refreshing paradise after our wild explorations of Winkler and Morden.
- Karen (8/5): - Clean and efficiently run. Very close to lake Minnewasta and dog friendly.
- Robert (6/5): - The hotel was clean and in a lovely location. The tv was satellite, so we were unable to get the oilers game or many normal channels that we watch. There was no phone or clock in the room. It would be fine for those who use their cell phones but a problem for us. Also, the check-in and check-out is through the cell phone and the man at the counter seemed to have little information about this. Probably, someone who is more tech savvy would give this a higher rating.
- 137hildyw (2/5): Worst hotel in Manitoba ! Would never recommend even if it was ur last resort. - The worst motel ever, had moldy eggos and muffins, staff are rude an act like they can’t understand/speak English.
Over priced for an outdated hotel, the rooms smell like someone’s cooking fish so it stinks bad.
Rooms don’t have coffee makers or ice container for ice. Yet They're included on pictures.
Almost every room is occupied due to the fact they live in every other room so availability is here but they are greedy and give a room to a 10 year old child since he’s family? Crazy. I would not recommend coming here at all. They threw away my belongings outside and didn’t let me view the footage yet thats where the camera faces is the dumpster. Very unprofessional I would never tell anyone to come here.
Hope they run outta business, no hotel management should have to be this rude. Over priced for mold. Coffee was made at 12am so it isn’t fresh as it sits for a couple days until it runs out, tastes burnt. The staff are always day drinking and can smell the alcohol on them when u go to front desk. 1 pillow each per bed but they have 2 per bed in there rooms. Drink machines don’t work. TVs are small and outdated, the older flatscreens while they have updated microwaves, coffee makers.
Our room was a smokers room u can tell due to the yellowness an burn holes in blankets and carpet.
Hot water is a hit or miss either u have a little bit or none, clean towels/sheets still have stains after being handed to u that are supposed to be washed an sanitary.
- James (8/5): - Very convenient to stay next door to the Drive-In!
- Connie (9/5): Superb -
- MARGARET (8/5): - Went for my nephew's social. Easy check-in and checkout.
- Robyn (2/5): - Person at front desk did not speak English. Big iron burn and stains on carpet. Stains on bedding. Bugs crawling on the floor in the morning. Spend more money and stay somewhere else.
- Adam (4/5): - The alsrm system in between the doors is constsntly beeping. The breakfast is thawed out eggo waffles; hard refrigerated muffins with no wrapping or covering, among other VERY basic items.
The room is so beyond outdated.
- Anonymous (8/5): Would definitely consider staying here in future. - The breakfast was more than expected - in the variety and quantity of items provided.
The location was quiet and close to amenities. Cannot think of anything.
- Debra (8/5): - I like that the hotel is pet friendly. They were there to assist me with the heater and tv. Prompt service.
Always a good stay. I can't eat the breakfast due to wheat allergies.
- Sylvain (8/5): - Well priced and had a pool and hot tub... can't complain
- Linda (10/5): Room was quiet and very clean. - It was sufficient and easy to find. Nothing
- Chen (10/5): Very good experience. - The staff are nice and the room is clean. Kids love the swimming pool.
- Friessen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shannon (6/5): - The hotel is very dated. The bedding was stained and could use an upgrade. There was no clock in the room. The fan in the bathroom sounded like a helicopter and the tub was welded so only a shower was available and we were there for hockey and with the hot tub closing at 9 pm it was a challenge. Quiet hotel with comfortable beds and pillows so that was good.
- Graham (8/5): - Cool space futures its an old hotel but a good one
- Kevin (8/5): - Overall the property is very good. Hockey team was not supervised by the parents so lots of running up and down the hallway. Dog in a room would then be disturbed and bark. Breakfast area was trashed by hockey team so I went out for breakfast both days. Parking lot needs some maintenance musty with potholes to get in
- P9143GWdaleh (10/5): Excellent customer service. Very clean pool area - Hot tub was excellent. Derek at front desk was very helpful. Definately recommend. Pool area was very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Grounds were very well kept. Continental breakfast area was clean and fairly well stocked. Very clean!!
- Seaside35033745583 (4/5): Not good but not the worst I have been in - The heat was off in the room when we entered. There was stains (maybe paint) all over the rug and the worst part was the glass I was going to use had dried soap in it. At least I hope it was soap! There is an open electrical outlet with no cover on it.
I don't think the filter on the heater has been ever been changed because I had an allergy attack with it on so had to turn it off and on.
The breakfast had no orange juice, eggs or bacon. It was very minimal.
I had a bath and when my wife tried to have one it only had cold water
The sheets looked clean though and it was quiet for a weekday night.
- Joseph (8/5): - Small bathroom, otherwise it was great
- Kyla (10/5): - Front desk gentleman was friendly and accommodating. Rooms clean and spacious.
Would stay again if in Morden.
- Stuart (5/5): Passable -
- Maik (10/5): - Good
- Kevin (4/5): - Easy to find. Space themed decor didn’t suit it.
- Vidula (4/5): - Reached at 2:30 pm for check in, room wasn't ready yet front desk said we have to wait till 3pm.
Rooms were dated, fridge wasn't working, no cable, swimming pool the note on the door said no outdoor shoes with a charge but people were walking in with outdoor shoes, hanging beside the pool & not sure if they were if charged. No one was taking care of the pool area, pool side edges were all moldy, calcium depost stain all around the pool.
Breakfast was bad, all frozen, store bought food, not much options like no fruit or juice, nobody was their to refills the food or utensils, counter were dirty with food crumble. No one was at the front desk all night or morning, it says if you need any help ring the bell. Morning got text message what time you are leaving, let us know and if we were happy with our stay. Never been asked before with any other hotel I stayed at.There was alot of noise at night. Some areas smelled like fish.
No one was at the front desk when we left, poor management or greeting.
- Carina (8/5): - We had a great experience so far. Smooth checkin and were the only ones in the pool are for 2 hours. It seems like there arent many people here which is nice for us. Looking forward to breakfast.
- Wanda (6/5): Pleasant -
- davidjl1962 (6/5): Dated Hotel needs some TLC and improvements. - Stayed at the Hotel Feb. 21-23, 2025.
Hotel is quite dated.
Pros:
The beds were comfortable.
Pillows comfortable.
Smart Tv's with Netflix, Prime inc. (With sign ins)
Carpet and room were clean.
Heater worked well for the room.
Cons:
Bathroom fan would screech every time it was turned on.
Very dim lighting in the bathroom, at best 25 watt lighting.
Did not use the shower/tub, plastic shower curtain was yellow and gross.
Sofa in room was dirty and had torn spots on it. (Very dated)
No hot food at all for breakfast.
Very basic breakfast, bread, fruit cups, a few muffins and cookies, yogurt and cereal. Only a few juice boxes , coffee and old tea bags.
Front desk staff were never at the front desk, no idea where they were.
We did not use pool or hot tub, the water didn't look very clean.
Summary, although the Hotel was 1/2 the price of the Best Westerns in Morden and Winkler, you really get what you paid for.
We would not stay here again.
- Denys (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna (8/5): Satisfied - Clean room and bathroom
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok - Room very cold on arrival, hard to hold moderate temp, paint on walls very uneven & sloppy along adjoining wall & ceilings
- Jhordan (2/5): - Our room was dirty, picture frame was falling off the wall in the room, other guests were loud past quit time
- 65brianray (2/5): AVOID - As with the recent reviews, AVOID. It was overpriced, the hot tub was not working, the pool shut down early, there was no ice in the ice machine, and the breakfast was extremely poor; no juice available only water; only protein being fruit flavoured yogurt.
- Julio (10/5): Exceptional - The staff and hotel.. That we couldn't stay longer
- Johan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elise (6/5): - It was comfortable but quite dated. Staff was super nice.
- Jeffrey (7/5): Overall I picked this place more than once and stayed for 2 weeks at a time. Good value. - Staff was pleasant. It’s an older building needs some major upgrades. Was clean though is was stained heavily. Towels, sheets, floor pool was dirty on floor and walls. I would like to add even though there were stains it was clean. Towels and sheets were not gross just old stains.
- Ovide (10/5): Comfortable and Quiet - Breakfast was good, kids had fun swimming, beds were comfortable shampoo and body was was full inside shower. Places was quiet at night. N/A
- 809amandai (2/5): Not worth the money - in desperate need of upgrades in hallways and rooms. "Breakfast" was half frozen bagels/cookies or dry cereal. Front desk hand wrote credit card info on paper which was concerning. Tvs are Roku not cable. Fridges don't work. Doubles as beer vendor
- Kelson (5/5): Passable -
- Amrit (5/5): Passable -
- Agnieszka (5/5): Passable -
- deedee252016 (2/5): Don’t stay unless you want just a bed. - The hotel is clean. Breakfast is cookies, muffins ego waffles and yogurt. No juice or protein and the worst coffee ever. The pool is closed and the vending machines empty. It is not worth 40 dollars a night. The beds are not that bad but rooms very dated.
- Dean (5/5): Passable - Not well kept not the cleanest. Didn’t smell very good.
- Kirk (4/5): - The room was clean and quiet. I did not like the stains on the mattress and bed spread. I did not like the fact that the continental breakfast did not even have fruit or juice. Not even water, just coffee.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Awful. Have stayed in the past and it was good.
1. Hotel completely booked due to Corn and Apple Festival, but ALL staff outside visiting, having supper, etc. NO ONE inside working or answering the bell.
2. No cloths or hand towels in the room
3. Live Centipedes crawling on carpet in room!!!!
4. Pulled back covers in room and found things left behind from last person inside the bed!
5. Extremely run down.
6. Beds comfortable but grossed out by the rest of the hotel.
7. Toilets wouldn’t flush properly
8. Continental breakfast - cereals mixed with other cereal - said Fruit Loops but had other allergen type cereals at the bottom of the container. Couldn’t eat any due to cross contamination
9. Tried oatmeal- wrong kind of oatmeal to just add hot water to. Couldn’t eat that either. Toaster took over 5 minutes to get the slightest toast. No juice. Hundreds of flies in the eating area.
Ended up going to a restaurant for breakfasts instead.
10. Definitely overpriced for this hotel, and of course, rates were jacked way up because of the festival.
Won’t go here again even if it’s the only place with rooms unless taken over and improved by new management.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent for price - Hotel was clean but dated. Pool area not great- algae on pool steps/walls and hot tub not working. Beds/pillows not comfortable. Great continental breakfast
- Sarah (8/5): - Pleasant place to stay the night.
- Winslow (6/5): - It looked nice from the outside but was disappointed in the room
- Alana Kent (4/5): Early check in fee - We checked in at 1:30, the room was cleaned and ready for us but we were still charged an early $20 check in fee…??
Why is this necessary? That seemed a rather unnecessary and petty charge, that was rather surprising and disappointing
- Cory (6/5): Overall good - Location Everything was empty. The shower soap. Hand soap. Coffee for the free breakfast.
- Chris (8/5): - Clean and tidy and quiet. Very respectable stagf. Had a very pleasant stay.
- Patrick (4/5): - The photos shown online are not current. The outside appearance was lacking. We had to wait several minutes for someone to come to the front desk after we rang the bell. The key to our room was still in the return from the night before and wouldn't' t open the door. The halls and room had a musty smell. Everything seemed outdated except the bathroom/shower. The couch was stained and smelled of body odor. The carpet was stained and needed at the least a steam cleaning. One ceiling light was missing a shade. The "leather" desk chair was worn.. The fridge, and microwave were old and yellowing. The smell in the room dissipated after we ran the air conditioning. We had been travelling all day and suffered through one night. The "continental breakfast" consisted of muffins, cold cereal, fruit cup snacks and coffee. That being said, we have seen other Super 8 hotels in our travels that appeared beautifully kept on the outside but after this we would not book online again!
- Diana (10/5): Stay again - It was clean, quiet and super friendly staff
- Joanne (8/5): - Conveniently located. Met our needs at a reasonable price.
- Wolfgang (6/5): - It needs new furniture and carpeting.
- Jerrold (8/5): - It was clean a nice place to stay the soap dispenser in the bath tub a crap couldn’t get enough soap out to have a shower
- Steve (9/5): nice and clean for a good price - price and pool outdated
- Stuart (8/5): - Nice clean hotel with good parking and decent breakfast....no coffee this morning...
- Jennifer (4/5): - Property wasnt well manned. Had to wait. Mattresses right outside window of our room. Bed uncomfortable
- NorsemanOBN (6/5): Clean, comfortable and adequate for a non fussy traveler. - This is a standard layout Super 8 I have been staying in for decades during my travels. I stayed at this motel several years ago when it was in better shape The older motel has seen better days but was clean and comfortable for a budget hotel. The breakfast was basic with cold food choices but adequate for my needs. Nothing special to be sure but for a one night stay it served the need. The staff member was required to get the TV Roku box to work but that was a minor issue. I prefer a cable network system but the internet box seems to be the most common these days.
- George (4/5): - Not updated pool was closed looked terrible
- Phil (4/5): - No pool. Hard bed.
- pharmacist2000 (4/5): Disappointing stay - This hotel is quite disappointing for a Super 8. It is very basic, and is lacking a lot of the working amenities that would give it a higher score. The pool and hot tub were shut down and not working, which was disappointment number one. I was hoping to dip in the hot tub before I went to bed, so that wasn’t good. The room was very basic and needed updating. The bed was hard and not the most comfortable. There was no satellite TV - it comes in the form of a Roku stick, which a lot of people may not be used to, and does not have a lot of channels that you may be hoping to watch when you get into the room. And to top it off, there was no breakfast in the morning, and nobody at the front desk to check you out; just a drop box on the counter to put your key in and you leave. I had to go back over to McDonald’s to get any food. Overall, very disappointing and I will not stay here again.
- Katherine (2/5): - Pool wasn't available so we canceled our reservations. Would have been nice to find out before we arrived
- Domenico (10/5): - Great staff
- Jeremy (4/5): - The accommodation was rather expensive for a property that is dated. The pool area was disgusting. The floor of the pool had brown scum and the water was turning green. The ventilation is not working and you can tell it hasn’t been for sometime. There is mold on the walls and the ceiling has had a significant leak. We stayed here with 20 other people and majority of us were bothered with the accommodation. I lifted the mattress of the beds in the room (looking for bedbugs) and there was dirt and sand underneath one queen and then hair and other things under the other mattress. My in laws suite had a pair of underwear and socks in the dresser drawer that was from a previous customer and my brothers room had long hairs in the sink. This hotel is not well kept or clean! We had a late night and entering the hotel is accessible 24 hours without a locking entrance door. You don’t need a pass to enter the property and there is no one at reception monitoring who is coming in and out of the Super 8. So there for sure is room for a security breach. One of the desk people looked to be living on the main level and when they walked out of the room it was smoke filled with cigarette smoke. I would highly recommend to stay at the Best Western Plus as the pricing is the same for something 10000 better.
- Orv (8/5): - Motel is clean and quiet
- Marilynn (2/5): - People leaving their full garbage bags in the hallway . Garbage cans overflowing in the breakfast area. Hadn’t been emptied from day before. Breakfast food on Christmas morning was not fresh. Bread bags left open- rock hard bagels- pastries left uncovered m, etc. granted it was Christmas- but please look after your paying guests. We will not be back and we have family in the area.
- Dwayne (8/5): - If it was busier there wouldn’t be much room to turn around or park with a trailer.
Actual cable or satellite tv not Roku
- northropfrye (8/5): Nice adequate accomodations - Friendly service at the front desk. Very affordable rate. Kind of on the other side of town from the other hotels, but not a long drive from the centre of Morden. Clean, basic, if a little dated, accomodations. Certainly nothing fancy, but for a basic and cheap hotel stay, it's certainly sufficient. No complaints.
- alexandercooper (10/5): Super 8 Morden Mb Fabulous - We had an incredible visit in the morning played around of golf at your beautiful Carmen Course spent the day At Minnewasta Beach community resort . The super 8 Is wonderfully situated one minute walk to the wonderful beach so convenient. Capped off our evening with the Stardust Drive-in What a wonderful way to recapture the wonderful memories of your childhood Watch a movie outdoors on the big screen with popcorn
Stardust next door to the super 8 …….Watch a wonderful drive-in movie and then Within 30 seconds you’re back in your room.
Derek guest services at the super 8 it’s true Customer Service always helping me out with anything you need at the hotel. He’s very knowledgable about the area and always offers wonderful sightseeing sites to visit.
The hotel is an incredible value the best in the area highly recommend it it also comes withComplementary continental breakfast downstairs in the main foyer .
Derricks there to greet you and make sure that your breakfast is wonderful along with a warm cup of coffee.
See you again soon super 8
Happy tourists from Winnipeg Manitoba
- colinbV8630GQ (6/5): Everything is a little slower in the country... - Came on a quick golf getaway from Winnipeg. The hotel is very basic. Place is kinda dated. It's evident that the hotel is newer (last 10-15 years) but has had minimal upkeep. The front desk guy just sleeps... Pool and hot tub was ok, a little skuzzy but we drank it pretty.
The free breakfast was all locked up at 8:30 am. Had to wake the dude up to get some eats. I think the place had maybe 10 rooms booked.
On a positive note. The ladies that clean your room here are super friendly, hardworking and kind. Not the worst place to stay but certainly not the best.
What is up with the toilet seat?
- Debbie495 (6/5): Had everything we needed - The motel is a bit older and could use a bit of an upgrade. At least here we had a luggage cart to use. (Thank goodness.)The pillows and the bed were hard. We could hear the guests walking in the room above us. TV picture was a bit snowy at times. Shower was good. There was a continental breakfast that you picked up and took back to your room. (toast, bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt, etc.) The coffee was okay. The fellow at the front desk was very friendly and helpful though we did have a small problem communicating but it worked out fine. All in all it was an okay stay.
- nicoledupre31 (4/5): Bad food - Breakfast was awful ice cold coffee, moldy bread, juice machine broken and no fresh fruit. Not offered a discount due to having to go out for breakfast. Our room had a burn mark on the carpet from someone leaving the cloths iron on the floor turned on
