Guest Reviews
- Wade (8/5): - This was my second stay at this property. They have renovated the rooms nicely since my last visit. My room was very clean. For the budget traveler this is a reasonable choice for an overnight stay.
Pros:
Easy access to shopping and dining.
Close to Hwy 17.
Friendly.
Drive-up parking.
Cons:
Wifi did not work well.
A bit noisy.
Slight dank smell in room.
- Blanche (4/5): - Wouldn’t return
- Reba (4/5): - This place is incredibly run down. The mattresses are very old and practically just springs, the walls are dirty, the furniture is unsteady/falling apart, and it smells of years of cigarette smoke. Worked as a cheap place out of necessity (everywhere else was sold out or exorbitantly high) but felt gross. There was dirt and hair in the sheets (slept fully clothed wrapped in own blanket that is getting deep cleaned), mold in the bathroom, and a layer of grime. The door looked like it had been kicked in a few times before and did not latch well. And the microwave was both moldy and rusted. Definitely not worth the over $100 charged per night. I would honestly only pay $40 a night for a place so dismal and even then only if nothing else can be gotten.
- Diederik (6/5): - Clen room but very, very basic. Only one towel for two of us.Had to remind the person 3 times to bring another towel. The old door lock was difficult to unlock. A slight kick helped to get the door open. No electric plug in the washroom and no bedside lamp.
- Eric (6/5): - towels is very dirty and old
- Laura (2/5): - I’m sorry but this property was terrible, everything needed updating, there was no hot water, electrical was sketchy
- Steven (6/5): - Sadly the walls are paper thin. Had a crazy drunk woman next door til abput 2am.
- Jeremy (2/5): - Aside from squeaky beds and paper-thin walls where we could hear people puking their guts our before 10PM with others screaming and arguing on either side of us, there was a very gross shower curtain with mould going 1/3 up from the bottom. When I did shower the water never warmed up. The floors were ice cold despite being 18 degrees celsius outside. The air conditioner sounded like a diesel bus right next to our heads which we put on only to drown out the noise.
- Diedrich (10/5): - Very good motel
- Verified traveler (2/5): Yikes! - There was only one electric outlet, there were no bedside lamps, the bed had weird crunchy squeak and there was black mould in the bathtub
- Claude (2/5): - Bad dirty old not clean
- Dana (4/5): - Only thing available.
- Andrea (6/5): - Is fine for what it is if you're just passing through.
- Aaron (8/5): - It is in the right place, but it needs some serious updates and cleaning!
- Lou-Anne (6/5): - Room not ready / cleaned at check in time.
Adaquate room
- Matthew (10/5): Great spot - Quality stay
- George (4/5): - For what is cost, it should've been better.
- maria (4/5): - The room smells cigarettes.
- George (8/5): - Clean room. Friendly staff
- Luke (4/5): - Stayed at some less then reputable hotels on this trip. But this one was the worst. Sketchy people everywhere. But the hotel clerc was very nice. I might stay here again, but only in a pinch.
- Andree (2/5): - There was literally no other option or we wouldn't have stayed. As we drove away from the Soo we stopped and bought a camper so we'd never be in that position again.
This place has a ton of potential but it was dirty and run down. The room was stuffy. One bed had sand in it. Everything needs to be taken out, sanitized and bleached..
Im hoping there are renovations in its future. Probably start by removing the van without plates, and replacing the indoor furniture on the patio with outdoor furniture.
Good luck. Great location.
- Jack (2/5): - No hot water, pet fee price discrepancy, extremely difficult to contact front desk. Would not return or recommend.
- David (8/5): - Cost effective
- u (2/5): - The front desk staff were cold and lifeless. There were holes and bloodstains on the bed sheets, which was terrifying and a terrible living experience
- David (4/5): - Room is in dire need for updates.
- Hitesh (2/5): - Room was not clean properly full of hair in washroom
- Andree (2/5): - There was literally no other option or we wouldn't have stayed. As we drove away from the Soo we stopped and bought a camper so we'd never be in that position again.

- Kevin (4/5): - There was mold in the bathroom, the vanity was broken, the sheets on one of the beds were dirty and stained, the cover on one bed had a cigarette burn and the bathtub was awful. It was the best price I could find and it was convenient to the highway and Walmart, although downtown was a bit far.
- John (4/5): - Walls have not been washed in awhile, Food or something wiped on the wall in 23. Washroom smelled of urine.
- Ramee (2/5): - Old and rundown.
- Mohamed (10/5): - Excellent service
- M.G.S. (2/5): - Picture this.
You pull in, you notice the sagging roof, the cars without license plates, and the general vibe of "abandoned motel where drugs may or may not be sold frequently (allegedly).
You think "This is fine, everything is fine. Its an adventure."
As you unload your car a violent domestic breaks out in the room beside yours. You awkwardly walk between them avoiding the lunges trying to enter your room.
You think "This is fine, people are human, its life."
You look a little deeper into reviews...
You move your sleeping bag onto the mattress and cover the pillow in your shirt. You put in ear plugs.
2am, the sounds of someone unleashing the hounds of hell on a door nearby, demanding to be let in. This goes on for roughly 20 min.
In the morning you waķe up at 5 to gtfo
You think whatever God's are out there your windows are not smashed.
Get the picture?
1/10 dont go here.
- james (2/5): - You get what you pay for. At least sheets were clean
- Jay (8/5): - For one night and single person it was okay.
- Sachitha (4/5): - The room was very dirty, Including the washroom and the pillows.
Do not recommend for other travelers.
- Renelyn (6/5): - Nice aircon cold
- Robert (8/5): - It was alright, no problems. The price was good and a lot of people stayed there, which was conforting being in a different country.
- Harpreet (4/5): - Would not recommend at all. Didn't feel safe. Bathroom was mess
- Shereen (2/5): - Blood on the sheets. Questionable people living at the motel. We checked out in less than an hour and forfeited the night’s fee.
- Daniel (6/5): - You get what you pay for. Property wasn't the best. Trouble with handicap accessibility. Small bathroom not accessible and no face clothes to wash.
- Jessica (8/5): - Very nice staff during check in
Pet friendly - property was in a good location for traveling with our dogs. I was able to safely get them outside for relief and walks using the back/side exit on the street behind the motel without being concerned with the high traffic Main Street out front.
- geraldin (4/5): - Nothings special dirty and dark rooms not enough lighting, dont know where to plug cp, usb charger broken. Dont have enough wall socket, just one extension wire.
Lots of spider web in the corners
- aaron (2/5): - The room smelled terrible, towels were stained and the door was not secure!
- Mark (2/5): - Checked in late as we were driving for 15 hours we were quite late around 1:30AM and the staff was nice to sign us in. Thats where it ends. The room was old but the sheets on the bed were covered with hair and the pillows were wet. Possibly strait out of the washing machine. The beds were bare thin.
Either way, we could not stay in this room. Expedia did not help us at all and we ended up paying double for a room elsewhere. Not a good experience.
- Andrea (4/5): - It was nice having three beds for our family. The room itself was clean-ish. However, the air conditioning was too loud to sleep. There was absolutely no hot water. The area around the property and the furniture was rundown. You get what you pay for.
- Nichole (10/5): - People were super nice and we had a great stay!
- Andrea (4/5): - I say unsafe as the door to room 16 had clearly been kicked in before...bathroom 100% needed to be redone...broken toilet cover that was glued back together. Beds were hard, pillows were basically none existent, sheets, comforter and towels all had stains. Furniture in the room is all missed matched and damaged. We were in the courtyard section so couldnt see our car....definitely gone down hill from 20 years ago when a nice local couple owned it.
- april (2/5): - I made a reservation at 11pm with eta 1130pm, hotel info says reception there til midnight. I tried calling 3 times to confirm eta time there with NO ANSWER! Room was dirty, floor dirty, apple core on floor beside bed, bedspreads had cigarette burn in it and a couple rips/holes, only had 2 shower towels no facecloths.... reception said opens at 9am, i went to ask them something after 9 and the Open sign was lit up, but the door was still locked and NO ONE ANSWERED AGAIN. I went 2 separate times between 910 and 940. NO ANSWER!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worse hotel I've ever stayed in. - There is a reason they don't offer a refund. Nobody was at the front desk. Door bell ringers not functional. Door knob installed upside down so seemed locked at first. Had to dial phone number twice to get someone to check us in. Front office smelled. Futon left outside the front office in the rain. Outdoor patio furniture is indoor furniture left out in the rain. Room door appeared to have been kicked in a few times. Mutiple reworked door knobs and locks. Also doof was falling off the hinges. Bed frames installed backwards so the enitre bed lifts up when you sit on the end. Mattress is very cheap and springy/hard. Room made my throat scratchy. A/C unit was loud. Microwave was yellowed and dirty. Fridge had hair in it. Trash left outside building. Curtains are thin and falling down. No screen in the window. Mutiple shopping carts left on the curb around property.
- Moncef (2/5): - .
- Melissa (4/5): - The room was very dirty. No hot water.
- Vladyslava (6/5): - -
- Suzanne (6/5): - It suited the purpose. Bed linens were clean, beds were comfy. Needs more effort in the cleaning of the room. Coffee maker and mini fridge needed a good cleaning. Fresh paint would def help. Some of the other guests appeared to be living in rooms and were kinda sketchy and alot of very loud arguments and slamming doors. The grounds needed work. The gentlemen who checks you in is also the room cleaning person, very friendly and accomodating, just leaves the office unattended and needing to call a phone number for service.
- Rose (8/5): Clean room; good value. - Room was clean and comfortable with recent upgrades. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price couldn't be beat and the location was close to several amenities.
- Andrea (6/5): - It's close to restaurants and gas stations.
The outside and bathroom doors stuck, and very few channels to choose from.
- Scott (2/5): - It was horrible.
- Khushan (6/5): - It was okay , bed was not comfortable but again for the price it was fine. Tv did not work there are no chairs just a table so u can’t use it to dine
- Billy (2/5): - W
- Teresa (2/5): Don’t go here - White shower cursing was pink and filthy, plaster repair area on wall, microwave didn’t work more than once. Refund for $200 deposit (overpriced) had to be done in person.
- Kuljinder (2/5): - Terrible rooms dirty towels no blanket no switch near bed
- Sreejith (4/5): - I tried to contact the motel beforehand, but the number listed on their website doesn’t even work anymore. Not a great start. When I arrived, the staff wasn’t welcoming at all. The room I got was stingy and poorly maintained. I had to force the door just to get it to lock from the inside, which didn’t feel safe.
The TV only had a single switch and the remote wasn’t even compatible. The worst part was the air cooler — it was absolutely filthy, full of dust like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. To top it off, the towels were torn and stained.
Honestly, it’s only okay if you're a single person needing a place to crash for a night and you have no other options. Otherwise, I’d look elsewhere
- Bryan (2/5): - Bad
- Verified traveler (10/5): Service good - The overnight stay was good, no issues on checking in.
- Christian (8/5): - Good for a one night stay. Need improvement on the premises. Staff are good. Need a stronger wifi so they put me in another room.
- Andrew (4/5): - Room that was booked was not ready...toilet backed up un rentable...given another room wich was dirty, filthy,no toiletries,Tv not working,no heat, just a cube heater.linnen was stained and dirty, towels were stained and dirty....no pride in there establishment.
- Martin (2/5): - Realize that this is a one star but some things still need to be done like shovelling the snow so you aren't pushed up against the wall. And towels in the room would be a nice touch. The deadbolt didn’t function either... lack of maintenance and a lack of caring for the property
- Paula (2/5): - Stayed in winter and entrance, walkways not shoveled. Cold room so I tried adjusting controls on wall but broken then saw a small space heater on floor (don’t think this is a legal or safe option).
Unbelievably dirty and unkept.
- Jason (6/5): - Very poorly maintained
- Jacqueline (4/5): - We reserved this motel but were not even able to stay in it, although we had a room reserved they had us move over to their other property The Skyline motel. They were extremely accommodating over the fact that they did not have a room with two queen beds and gave us a room for free however, both rooms had towels that appeared dirty, f
Bedding that appeared dirty, furniture that appeared dirty, the fridge had something that looked like it leaked and died in it, and the bathroom was very unsanitary.
- Kuruvilla (6/5): - Quite and convenient.
- Kuruvilla (8/5): - Average place, but quite and convenient.
- Arun (2/5): - It was the worse experience I’ve ever experienced in a Motel
The place was stinky, full of cigarette smoke Oder . The shower was only having cold water
The room heater was not functioning.
Don’t book this place. Much better to sleep in the car.
- Oubay (4/5): - Definitely more of a welfare state place probably rooms rented out by the month
- Courtney (4/5): - The room was dirty and smelled of damp, made worse by taking a shower as there was no fan. The sheets had multiple stains along with the pillows. Cigarette burns on the comforter as well. Piss was stained on the outside of toilet bowl. Towels were stiff and stained as well. The room smelled of mold. Do not stay here.
- Calvin (6/5): - Outdated place. Noisy neighbors. Appears multiple families live in office area and use part of property as storage
- Jason (6/5): - Was a bit expensive for the room I received the room was old and dirty had to get cleaning supplies and clean the room myself broken tv but staff did replace it fast when I called. Wasn't to bad to sleep there but not worth the price.
- Verified traveler (4/5): It had a roof - I've stayed in a lot of hotels, and I've never felt compelled to trash my clothes and sleep in my car.
I gave a decent Eco rating because they clearly use minimal detergent, water, lighting, and cleaners.
Various concerning things for a single traveler, such as, the empty quarter inch holes in the wall and unsecured door, and the full-time residence foot traffic... but the final straw that made me sleep in the car was watching TV and having a bed bug crawl onto my arm. Picture of the carcass attached..
Never mind it won't let me attach it but anyway be careful out there kids!
- Amanda (8/5): - Price l9cation
- Shuchang (2/5): - Dirty room, it looks not for human, won’t come back!
- Bruce (4/5): - If you're going to stay here make sure to request a room closer to the office. I stayed at the other end of the building in the courtyard and the room was in rough shape.
- KathleenM (10/5): - Never seen a 3 bed rn
- Loana (8/5): - It served a purpose, we had a good nights rest
- sunjeev (2/5): - Worst place i ever stayed
- babubhai (2/5): - Worst hotel I have ever stayed
Expedia must delist this dump
No toilet paper light not working dirty filthy disgusting hotel
- Audrey (4/5): - The bathtub was filthy, The shower mat was dirty Pillowcase was stained Hair on the bedding
- Marko (4/5): - The door only locked with knob, deadbolt didnt work. Door is warped and didnt close well. Lots of trash outside the rooms. Side of AC in window has open access to outside, which drafted cold air all night.
- Cayla (2/5): - People screaming at all hours of the night. Mold in the unit I stayed in, fridge making hi pitched noises, microwave randomly turing on. Ac not working in the unit and half the lights didn't work either. There was also a leak in the bathroom. Overall it was terrible and wpuld not recommended.
- Betsy (2/5): Crackhouse and major Dump - This was the Worst stay I've ever had 8n the Sault. We stayed here because everything was booked in the Sault. I assumed because Hotels.com had it listed, I could depend on a certain level of quality. BOY was I wrong. This place is a flop house and just disgusting. But the thing that made it Terrible is that the description said it was "accessible" and it was a total misrepresentation of what was available. I struggled each and evey time to get my daughter's wheel chair into the bathroom. I am totally dissapointed that Hotels.com would represent and promote this place.
- Gisele (10/5): - Great location, on the corner of a main street, but the rooms were on the side street where it was quite. The room was very spacious and the service was great.
- Tyler (2/5): - Just all around dirty. No effort put into ammenities
- Gagan (2/5): - Dirty as hell
- Charles (4/5): - City hotels were are full. Took this one as a last resort. Staff were polite. Bed linens were clean. Room had not been cleaned properly, trash under desk and behind TV. Insufficient towels. Very poor lighting. Price gouging obvious due to high demand in city. Would not recommend even at half the price.
- Lei (6/5): - Not bad
- Mark (2/5): - The door was so tight only my husband could open it. There was garbage i.e. cigarette butts, bits of paper on the ground outside the door. The walls and doors were dirty. The towels (only 2) were stained along with the bath matt. The tv did work fine as did the coffee maker. We asked about a place to go for breakfast and he said he only eats east Indian food so didn't know. You are to return the room key to an unlocked box outside the office. Not a good experience.
- David (4/5): - Bathroom, no exhaust fan, no anti slip mat in shower, had to ask for more towels and face cloths, room came with 1 towel , no garbage can, supplied when asked, brown material around bath tub surround, hole in bathroom door, no valance on over the sink lighting.
- Khalid (2/5): Very disappointed - There was only one table lamp no other light Room was dark even in day time .There is no excust fan in the wash room and no dust bin. Gave only two towels even we asked they said they have a shortage of towels. No designated parking .Room floor was so dirty that without sandel you cannot walk. There was a coffee machine but didnot provide the coffee cups. Not recommended
- Deborah (8/5): - Great sleep
- Patricia (2/5): - There was blood on the pillow and sheets. The tv didn’t work properly. There was a bath Matt covering a hole in the floor. The tub was absolutely disgusting with dirt and rust. The chair had stains on it.
- chantal (10/5): - Me and my dog liked it
- Garlita (2/5): - There was a vomit on pilow,
the beds are old and uncomfortable, the sheet covering the box spring is dirty like a trace of urine or dirty water thats dried. I was trying to get over my emagination by being on my phone but cant relax until I finally walked out at 2 am. I turned on the air-conditioner but the air coming from it is musty. I don't mine the structure but hey cleanliness is the priority for a cheap hotel.
