- J (10/5): I’m impressed- truly - Excellent stay ! Wow let’s start with rhe location - cannot be beat. Here’s why: 30 second walk to the metro station (one stop away from Taipei Main station) and the night market and entertainment district is literally behind the hotel but the hotel and rooms are quiet ! The staff is incredibly nice - some of the nicest people I’ve interacted with and the breakfast buffet is huge - so many choices. I’m impressed

Only feedback is, soundproofing wasn’t great and i can hear people talking outside quite clearly. But i guess many hotels are like tat. Will stay again if i return to Taipei.

The location is unbeatable—just steps from the MRT/subway station, surrounded by endless dining options, massage parlours, and within easy walking distance to everything in Ximending. We booked the Executive Suite since we were traveling with four large suitcases, and the room was adequately spacious, clean, and comfortable. The standout, however, was the exceptional service—from the warm welcome at the front desk to the attentive staff in the restaurant, everyone was polite, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Our room included daily complimentary breakfast, offering a great selection of both Western and local dishes. The food was fresh, delicious, and well-presented—though it can get crowded at peak times. Overall, Westgate Hotel exceeded our expectations, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Taipei. Highly recommended for both location and hospitality.

Rooms are comfortable and the water pressure in the shower is very good. Breakfast is very ordinary nothing special. Price can be a little steep but it’s worth it for the convenience and service.

Right next to exit 6 of Ximending mrt station, it’s got different types of good food (street stalls, small local shops and restaurants) + shopping all around. You can go back to your room to rest in between because of the proximity. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. They are helpful too. Asked them about transport options to Jiufen- got it! Asked them about AirPort Express mrt- got the answers and cost in too. They know what they are doing. I do think their peak hours are 10am- 2pm where everyone is checking out and checking in within that window. The staff still try their best to stay in control, asking what you need, doing it with speed and wearing a smile.

- Jeanne (10/5): - Where do I begin? There are so many wonderful things about this hotel! It's right outside Exit 6 of Ximen station, so you won't have to walk more than two minutes when commuting. The area is lively and filled with great shopping and dining options, but our room was quiet and peaceful. The room was very clean and I loved that the toilet and shower each had their own little room. The property smells amazing and the staff are absolutely incredible. Rex and another wonderful gentleman helped me several times during my stay and they were so helpful and accommodating. It can be rainy in Taipei, but you won't have to buy an umbrella. The hotel will lend you one! I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again in a heartbeat!

The only suggestions we have is consider supplying conditioner,a grab bar in the shower and more storage like shelves for personal items. We would definitely come back when in Taipei.
- Tsz Wing (10/5): - I stayed at Westgate many years ago (probably 7/8 years) and I’m happy to say that the hotel is still well maintained and the staff are so helpful and friendly as it was my last trip! Special kudos to Rafa who is always there to greet us with a smile and so attentive, offering help always, going the extra mile and even helping us with our luggage when leaving the hotel. Apart from the fantastic hospitality, the hotel is located conveniently steps away from the MRT train station and entrance to the ximending shopping area, would definitely recommend it!

The staff are very nice and the place is clean. They even helped me book a taxi when my Klook booking didn't show up. They are very helpful. If you are planning to visit Taipei, this is the best hotel stay at.

Room was really clean and doesnt felt like a hotel with age. Sleep was fine although bed was slightly creaky and pillow was quite soft. On the downside, there isn’t a separate bathroom (please check out the room pics and you will understand) and felt really cold once I stepped out of the shower. Doesn’t help that there is no heater in the room and the weather outside is 9 deg. Overall, a nice stay and would recommend if you intend to shop a lot at Ximen district.

- Jerome (10/5): - Booked a Deluxe Room for 2 from 13-17 Feb. Was surprised to be given a room on the second floor that was opposite the staff elevator and while it had a window, the view was of the back alley and Ji Guang Fried Chicken (it was kind of good as it allowed us to sneak down to buy the chicken when we saw there was no queue as JG can attract quite a lot of customers). However, the reception was very good, room was nice and clean with a wide array of television channels to choose from. Toilet was well equipped with soap and a bidet, but would've appreciated perhaps a set of toothbrush and toothpaste for each guest. Service wise was excellent, with friendly staff to hold the door for us and usher us to the lifts. We were also able to leave our luggage at the hotel and make use of their rest facilities for guests who have checked out as we were catching a late flight. Location wise, definitely very convenient as it's just a stone's throw from Ximen station, the Red House, Rainbow Road and other attractions. All in all, enjoyed our stay here, especially pleased with the service of the staff. Will recommend.
- Mary J (10/5): Great little hotel - I am a female solo traveler and opted for a solo room. It was perfect. There is no window though if that bothers you. You need a key card to use the elevator so i always felt safe. There is a nice cafe with a buffet for breakfast and lunch. The location is great because it is right around the corner from the Ximen subway station. Lots of restaurants and shopping in the area. I was there over the Lantern Festival and the street was magical at night with all the lights and displays. The staff was very helpful and attentive. I definitely recommend the Westgate. The price was right too!

The only drawback was the view from the room, which was not particularly scenic as I had a view of the back of some building and its vents.
