Guest Reviews
- Hayes (9/5): -
- Sequoia (5/5): -
- Jacqui (7/5): - Clean & close to the beach Parking is very tight. Our truck just barely fit. The pool was not open.
- Neil (10/5): -
- NATALIE (6/5): - The condo is very dated but was spotless. Probably the cleanest condo I’ve stayed in. The beds are super comfortable but didn’t get any sleep due to hearing the neighbors conversations. The walls are super thin. The parking underneath is nice but a little tricky for trucks and SUV’s.
- Katie (10/5): - First time staying at Sandy Shores III in Garden City Beach, SC. It’s a great location with public beach access less than 100 yards away, dining options within walking distance, easy to navigate around the area. The only downside is that the parking is under the building and it is tight. Our full size truck barely fit with our ladder rack, toolbox, and kayak. The clearance is 7ft 5in. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was minimally stocked with a small skillet, a saucepan, one pot, and one small baking sheet. There were only two knives. Didn’t find the cutting board until we were packing to leave. We did enjoy our stay overall!
- Brian (8/5): - Location Not handicap accessible
- James-Bridget (6/5): - This was the 2nd time we stayed here.. nice condo. Clean, everything you need .. good location.. but issue with bugs.. we contacted the management company.. they had not vacancies anywhere else.. offered our money back.. but we wouldn’t have anywhere to go.. bought bug spray and took care of it ourselves.. yulk.
- Sherry (8/5): Had a very good stay. - Very good cleanness and quiet A little better access for entering the facility
- Shelia (8/5): This area is our favorite place. - Location was good. It was peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed our stay. Kitchen needs new coffee maker. Someone had turned the handle around and you had to pour your coffee from the side. Climbing up and down steps.
- Katie (8/5): - We loved the view The neighbors next to us were rude
- Jatanna (1/5): Bed infestation - I liked the location of the room walking distance to beach The day we arrived we were told we had to move the next day. Which defeated my purpose of coming the day before my son bday to have no travel plans on his day.
The 2nd night but 1 st day at new room I seen over 10 roaches. They offered to move us the next day when I reported it. But I declined, she said they sprayed that day and the rain could bring them out. I asked for bug spray. Spray around the remainder stuff that I had in the room because majority of it I had moved to the car. The morning before the day of check out which was my daughter birthday, it was a bed bug on the kitchen table. Most of our stuff was out and I cut the trip short.
Once I was home I told them, they said bc I stayed I couldn’t get a refund. I couldn’t let my kids down we were there. A refund would have took days. I had to choose between feeding and entertaining them or new room and they starve.
When spending 100s of dollars places should make sure their end is covered.
They did offer me a free stay but who wants to stay at a place with bugs, even for free!
- Tobias (8/5): - La ubicación cerca de la playa Que la oficina no está en el lugar del hotel
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- Renee (10/5): - Great
- Laresa (5/5): Needs some updates but it was ok overall - Convenient and close to the beach AC went out for two nights and it was already hot outside. But the maintenance guy did what he could and brought us 2 fans; until they were able to fix it later on
- Kaleem (8/5): It was okay - I like nice and clean place to stay and also quiet. Major businesses at distance, teenagers were not able to go outside their own and find some attractions beside just the beach.
- Anita (5/5): I will never book a reservation at this property again. - Inside condo was okay. The parking was terrible. So hard to get into a space and then not enough room to get out of car. The office to check in was 2 miles away. The floors and walls were so thin you could noisy neighbors.
- Victor (6/5): Pleasant -
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Very nice, spacious room.
- Lindsey (9/5): Loved it! - Great location! Quiet area! Stairs no elevator. Tight parking spots. Smaller pool.
- Ferrell (9/5): Enjoyed stay. Grandson wanted to go back. Was his choice of the 3 places we stayed on vacation. - Location was convenient to beach, nice pool, nice tv, nice fridge, availability of washer/dryer. No elevator. More stairs based on top location than anticipated but o.k.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - We were happy to be able to walk to the beach, and close driving to everything we could need. The property was clean, spacious, and adequately equipped.
- Lori (8/5): - It was nice and quiet, but it was an opening in the attic in the bathroom. It made me a little uneasy when I looked up and saw it.
- Danielle (10/5): - Easy check in, great location!
- Ruth (8/5): - Proximity to the ocean was nice.
- Tim (8/5): Very good -
- John (8/5): - I liked the parking under the building, to keep the car in shaded area
- Travis (7/5): Nothing special, - Close to beach Fridge stunk bad didn’t work good
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - Loved location and very clean DID NOT LIKE THE PARKING AT ALL. I have an suv and it was extremely hard to park.
- Nancy (10/5): - Parking was tight and hard to get in and out!
- Deana (6/5): Simple - This place was sufficient for our short stay. Very simple. Location is great for the beach.
- Connie (10/5): - The property was very clean and updated. The bed was very comfortable.
- Brielle (10/5): - I really liked that it was literally a 30 second walk to the beach, I came with my whole family and it was very clean and spacious. The dryer and washer was an added plus. The only thing is one of the tvs were broken but other thank that it was a 10/10 stay.
- Patrick (8/5): - It was reasonabbly priced.
The parking under the property was convienient but very difficult to maneuver.
- Steve (4/5): - The walls were paper thin so the drunks next door kept us up. The staff was overwhelmed so we had to wait to get in the room & there were no towels, tp or any other items that were supposed to be there. They were very nice & courteous but understaffed. It wasn't their fault; everyone is struggling with staffing issues.
- Tamika (10/5): If u can stay here stay - It was so. Awesomeeee
- Regina (10/5): - Loved the property. Clean and well maintained.
Office is located too far away from the actual rental property
- Donnie (2/5): - We walked in to our room on Thursday afternoon 3/17/22 to a pile of dirty towels in the kitchen. Trash everywhere, trash can full, open shampoo bottles. No towels, we had to go and purchase towels just to take a bath. Trash in bedroom and open pill packets. The bed was not even made, so who knows if it was even clean. So disgusting. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Very clean, very nice stay close to the beach - easy walk across the street to the beach access. 2-bedroom, 2-bath with a pull-out sofa was perfect for our 5-person family stay.
- Brandi (10/5): We loved our stay - I love this condo! It had everything Me and husband needed for our family. I will definitely be booking with them again!
- Amy (8/5): - Room was great, Location was great. Only issue was parking! It was a nightmare! Slilt parking is fine, but this place doesn't have enough space to park! Even small cars were having a hard time! Other than that everything was good!
- Katarie (8/5): - The stay was nice check in location isn’t far from where your staying but the gps takes you to the end of the neighborhood but the office is actually soon as you turn in to the right
- LaMonda (6/5): ‘21 graduation get away - Shower curtain in the master bath had mildew on it. They did bring another on day #2 since no one is in the condo office. And the family on top of us, there was non stop running, running, running! It was very annoying.
- Heather (6/5): - Our stay was ok when we went to check in which was at 4pm like they said the condo still was not all set when we went inside there was ice cream still in freezer we could not use the pool it was green and full of chlorine the parking not to great if you have a big vehicle to tight of a fit I drive a Kia Sorento also they had a wood stick to keep the door closed on the balcony nice people to deal with just I feel they care more about there villa place than sandy shores place
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The televisions were down they fixed one, the stove was not workable when we needed it they needed to bring a repairman in to get it working. we called many times about the unsafe open wires behind the stove with no response for two hours later at 12:01 AM. Too late to respond!!! although they are going to refund some of our money. Supposedly!! have not seen it yet! A week later!!!
- LeeAnn (8/5): - The hotel staff is amazing, they went above what they needed to when i was having difficulty with my payment. They even gave my kids and I access to a private community pool which was great. This is the third time ive stayed at this resort and will continue to do so. The housekeeping however was a bit ridiculous, the unit wasnt very clean at all. Other than the housekeeping, this property is awesome, stone throw from the beach all the amenities of home and everything else fairly close by.
- Kammie H. (10/5): Just what we needed - We enjoyed staying at this property, and would stay here again. As others have mentioned, you do have to go to a different location to pick up keys, but it is only 3 miles away (10 minutes in traffic). For some reason, our unit was missing a broom and they immediately brought us one when we called and asked. There are room darkening curtains, which was important to us with little ones taking daytime naps. Our only complaint was that there were no fans in the bedroom. The living room would be freezing cold, but when the bedroom doors were shut, it was much warmer in the bedrooms. A fan was definitely needed. Pool was perfect for what we needed, and the walk to the beach was minimal. There was a nice washing station right as you came off the beach.
- Robert J. (8/5): Great Location !! - Great location, golf carts allowed, outdated but clean .
- Jeremy (10/5): - Nice place to get away for a couple of days! The only complaint...I didn’t see that you had to check in at a different location, so that was a little bit of a hassle.
- Chris (8/5): - Price was great for a three bedroom condo. Had all amenities and was great!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Smells bad - The unit had a strong curry smell that did not go away even after opening the sliding glass doors on multiple days. The shower head on the master shower was just the end of a pipe and the shower in the 2nd bathroom was so small you could barely lift your arms. The location is great though.
- Aaron (8/5): - I overall enjoyed my stay. I only required a clean place to lay my head after a long day. The place is dated and the banding on the countertop was coming off, but overall it was an acceptable place to stay for a couple of days. If maintenance would address just a few small issues, I would not have anything to complain about the property itself. Parking is available, but extremely tight since you have to park between the beams of the foundation that have HVAC units mounted prohibiting full use of your car doors on both sides. I didn’t enjoy having to drive 3 miles off property to pickup/drop off they keys after driving all day, but also don’t see where they could have a management office on-premises. This may have been noted somewhere, but I neglected to see this before arriving. I had plenty of hot water for myself and the kitchenette was fully stocked with pots, pans, silverware and glassware. It does have a small pool, but since I went in the wintertime, I was not able to use it. It’s located directly across the street from the ocean and from the balcony you can see it peeking through the buildings. At the end of the day and at the price point, I would absolutely stay there again and probably will next year at this time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - property was absolutely perfect. had everything myself and my family needed
- kris h. (8/5): Short stay - Property had everything you need. Across the street form the beach. Would stay again
- kristen f. (8/5): Great location for our family - clean, close to lovely beach. Perfect for families. Nice kitchen area. Only hassle was picking up the key at another property and the parking underneath the building is tight.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful location, easy check out. Clean property
- Deborah (10/5): Good choice - Amazing. So close to beach.
- Sakda C. (10/5): Easy access - Easy access
- Sean (10/5): Great location! - Great location, right across the street from the beach and a mile from the pier. I loved that we were so close that we didn’t have to pack an entires day worth of drinks and snacks for the beach, we were able to easily go back and forth. Pool was kind of small but never overly crowded.
Parking was pretty tight for our Dodge Grand Caravan but there was usually a spot across the street for beach parking that we used during the day when we knew we would be running around to different sites so we didn’t have to deal with maneuvering into the parking spot.
Condo was fully stocked with everything you would need in a kitchen, from pots and pans to a cheese grater. Carpet was a little bit dingy and had a couple stains. No towel service but there is a washer and dryer which was nice for throwing our beach towels in.
All in all, the location is top notch if you don’t mind a slightly older unit, having to climb at least one flight of stairs and no towel/housecleaning. Would visit again!
- marcy (10/5): Great family get away - It was great to have the pool close by and the beach right across the street. The room itself is awesome, it feels like home. I def will be coming back with family.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The garbage disposal didnt work and the dishwasher was leaking. Beds were very comfortable and condo was very clean. The beach was not near as crowded in the area. Overall great place to stay.
- Robert W. (8/5): Great accommodations for the price! - Very clean and conveniently located to Garden City & Murrells Inlet. It's on the 3rd floor, so heavy suitcases are a bit tedious to tote. Master BR is spacious & the bed is comfortable. The guest room with 2 twin beds is a bit small and very little closet space. I would stay again.
- Dennis (10/5): Grand Strand of South Carolina at it's best. - Great beac
Great located just off the beach. Clean, comfortable, good parking and quiet. Grand Strand at it's best.
- Ryan (10/5): Second to none.... - Amazing as usual, best place to stay in MB!
- Susan (10/5): - Great place! Very comfortable. Just where we wanted to be. Climbing the stairs was a little tough sometimes, and the parking is for small vehicles only, not a van, but we had a great time.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I was a little disappointed from the beginning. The address online says Murrells Inlet...so that’s where I thought we were staying. It’s actually in between Surfside and Garden City. Check in is also at a totally different location several miles from the hotel, so that was an inconvenience as well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything wasthere, perfect. Onecomplaint, when booking this hotel, people need to be told that registration is in another building off property.
- Barbara (10/5): Would go again! - Wonderful location! Nice, clean and had everything we needed even though I didn't get to spend much time there myself, my family thoroughly enjoyed it!
- Melanie (10/5): - Wonderful stay. Great accommodations and location.
- Victoria K. (10/5): Amazing! - We loved every second
- GEORGE (8/5): - Could use a little updating but was very clean. Check in and check out were easy . Staff was very friendly
- Eric (10/5): Beach vacay away from hustle! - There was nothing negative at all to say about his fabulous place. It’s right across the street from the Atlantic, you are within walking distance from plenty of public beach space, local coffee shops and restaurants...my family and I are already thinking about our return trip. Everyone was so laid back and welcoming, and we were on the second floor with ocean views out the front door. You won’t be sorry you booked this, you’re welcome in advance!
- Kristi (10/5): - Condo was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. No maintenance issues. Check in was easy, woman at front desk was friendly and helpful. Condo was very close to the ocean! There were restaurants and shopping not far down the street. The pool was cleaned frequently, and we saw maintenance working/updating around the condo. We were very pleased and will definitely be back!!
- Chuck (10/5): Sandy shores 3 - Was great might be what i use next year in fact. Definitely would recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): Home away from home - The room was clean and well kept Good location, close to beach and pier. Beds were incredibly comfortable. People were friendly. We’ll stay again. We enjoyed our stay
- Marie (8/5): Nice location - The location of Sandy Shores III is great! Its only a minute walk to the beach! (Down one building and cross the street). The condo is roomy (we had 2 bedrooms/2 bath. 5 of us were very comfortable) and having a kitchen meant we didnt have to eat out every meal.
The management was very friendly and knowledgeable, gave advice on activities and had plenty of coupon books.
We did have a a VERY big issue upon arrival (the room was not cleaned, no towels or linens), despite 3 calls about the room condition, no one showed up till 9:15pm. By this time, we were all crabby and our baby needed a bath and bed. This issue was resolved. Had this issue not been our first experience with Sandy Shores III, I would have given an outstanding rating.
Sandy Shores III is not located right in the middle of it all, its in a quiter part of town. The boardwalk is a short, maybe 15 minute drive. So if you want to be where the action is, this may not be the best fit. However, if you are looking for quiet and relaxing, a minute walk to the beach, this is a great place to stay.
If you do go to the Myrtle Beach area, go to Brookgreen gardens! BEAUTIFUL! Your admission is good for 6 days, you might want to go multiple days!
