- Greer (4/5): Will not return or recommend. - Reasonable price Staff upon arrival was rude. Bed comforter had a blood stain on it. Bathroom was dirty.
- Jason (7/5): - Located right off the interstate. Pool was nice. Beds were ok. Could be nicer.

- burkstwelve (2/5): Terrible - We got the hotel February 14th and the toilet was not clean. It looked like someone had diarrhea and it leaked out on the front of the bowl. We went to the front desk and my wife stated that the toilet was not clean. The gentleman at the front apologized and said that he would get it cleaned while we were away. He kept apologizing and my wife did not have an opportunity to state what was dirty on the toilet, but guess that doesn't matter. You would think the employee would clean the whole thing. We came back from our event at 9pm, and they had taken the one dirty towel out of the bathroom and replaced it. I looked at the toilet and it still had the diarrhea stain on the front. We were going to call back down, but we did not want the hassle and were tired, so I cleaned it myself. When on my hands and knees cleaning, I noticed that there was diarrhea stains in the bowl as well, but were on the back of the bowl and close to the seat area. I cleaned both areas so my wife would stay in the room. When we got back to the hotel at 9pm, there were also 20-25 people in the lobby area/breakfast area. They had coolers of alcohol and they had food sitting out and were very loud. Our room door was on the second floor facing this area. We went to bed at 10:15pm and this "party" was still going on. The chatter and laughter was very loud. The last big outburst was at 11:15pm. I am unsure if this was the end of the party or we were just exhausted enough that we fell asleep.
The King Sized mattress was not comfortable at all and they were more like the 80's style mattress. We only got a couple hours of sleep.
In the morning, the same group was out for breakfast and were very loud. Luckily we were already up. We went down to eat (7am) and the eggs and sausage were barely warm and were cold by the time we sat down to eat. Unbelievably, the same group of people were still laughing about something. The sign states in this area, that this is a quiet area from 10pm to 8am. I guess this does not apply to them or this hotel. We decided to leave immediately.
Thinking things would get better, they didn't. I checked out and thought, a coffee for the trip home would be nice. I was filling up a cup provided by the hotel when I heard a hotel guest state to one of the employees that the bottom of his cup came apart and it spilled everywhere. Talk about bad luck. We left the parking lot and stopped at the Shell station a block away so my wife could get a soda. While my wife was in getting a soda, I lifted my coffee and put it to my mouth and the bottom of my cup came a part too. HOT coffee all over my lap. As it was spilling everywhere, I tried to to put it back into the cup holder because as you know, this coffee is scorching HOT. So half of this HOT coffee is in my lap and leather seats, which means groin area "OUCH", and the other is all over my middle console and cup holder. We were at the gas station an additional 25 minutes trying to clean up this mess as well as trying to put on clean clothes. The coffee was in this cup for probably 5 minutes and then the bottom. Half of the bottom of the cup came a part from the rest of the cup.
So, I try to do a nice get away for my Wife and I for Valentines Day, and I get a dirty bathroom, then ask for the toilet to be cleaned and it still doesn't get cleaned. I have to do it myself but also notice that it is dirtier than I originally thought. Then the group in the lobby had no consideration for other guests. Also the hotel staff let this continue to at least 11:15pm. The mattress was awful. Then when breakfast was served, the same loud bunch was down there. Good Lord, you would think they would be hung over and sleeping in. I didn't even want to go down there and deal with them. Then when you do go down to eat, the food is cold. Lastly, I just wanted to get out of this joint, then the coffee cup falls a part and I get HOT coffee all over my“genitals” and leather seats as well as my center console. It got into my USB ports as well as the shifter area. Talk about a complete mess. The coffee was in the cup maybe 5 minutes. Just think what would have happened if I was on the interstate going 70 mph?????? This could have easily caused an accident.
So after everything is said and done, I had 14 hours of hell at this AmericInn. I have stayed at AmericInn's multiple times and this is by fat the worst ever.
I got home and I had to take a shower and put on new clothes. Now I am wasting my time writing this darn letter to let you know what a bad experience we had, when I should be taking a nap due to being totally exhausted from staying at this hotel.
My ask is what are you willing to do for us? I am wanting at least a full refund. Also to make sure the cups for coffee are looked into. The coffee is very Hot, and I was the second person that this had happened to that morning. Luckily the other gentleman was sitting at a table in the breakfast area and not in his car getting burned in area's you are not supposed to be.
Thank You

- William (10/5): - Very nice people and very clean property
- Roberto (7/5): Confortable - Very comfortable but smelly carpets but clean rooms Cleanliness
- Susan (10/5): - Relaxing atmosphere
- SCOTT AND LESLIE (4/5): - PILLOWS WERE LUMPY, SHEETS WERE OLD, NO GRAB BAR TO GET INTO SHOWER, VERY SHORT TOILETS
- Scott (7/5): Was satisfactory, would stay again if in area - Location was nice easy to find . Bacon with breakfast not just sausage, everything in little refrigerator was warm. Milk especially.
- Mary (9/5): - I didn't eat. Not being able to reserve room direct through the motel. It was a good stay!
- Rick (9/5): Good Overall - Good One of our 4 rooms had dead bugs in refrigerator
- Beverly (8/5): American Inn needs to really step up to a more thorough cleaning program for couches and chairs. - The breakfast was satisfying especially because it was a holiday. Praise to the people who came to work on Christmas. The couch cushions need a good cleaning. The Jacuzzi appears to have been out of order for some time.
- Eric (5/5): Need to update your info - Clean Booked a jacuzzi room, turns out they removed them and you guys (booking) didn't update your website , I even paid extra for that and wound up with a fancy room and no jacuzzi
- Valladares (6/5): Ok - The food was not pleasant, cold and not as it shows in tje pictures
All they had was waffles and old sausage.
4 apples for the whole hotel. It was hunting season so the hotel was fully booked.
Also they dont have bottle water or other filtered water except in their private room for them to drink. They offered me the one by the pool water fountain which looked rusty and not cleaned.
Really didnt liked that
Coffee was old and cold too. All the mentioned above, not a good comfort
- Kealie (1/5): - Good location No fans in bathroom, urine spots on toilet, spots on bedside table that I had to wipe up, staff hang up when you call and won’t tell you their name even if you ask
- Alan (9/5): Clean comfortable and reasonably priced. - Cleanliness, staff, quiet (no running/screaming in the halls). Breakfast was very good as well, included hot and cold options. Sausage patties, scrambled eggs, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, muffins etc all included. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in large pump bottles in the bath/shower as well as large pump hand soap and lotion in the sink area. Nothing to dislike about this stay.
- Duane (10/5): - Very good breakfast. Hot meal. Not just continental. Pool and hot tub clean. Friendly staff. Elevator. Had friends stay upstairs. She has problem with stairs.
- Analise (1/5): Disgusting, dirty, moldy. - Nothing We walked in and walked out it was so disgusting and dirty. We asked for a refund, as we didn’t stay, and the manager was incredibly rude and denied us. The guest in line behind also came to the desk not even 2 minutes later complaining his room was dirty. There was bubbling mold around the AC unit and a big dripping yellow stain over the wall. Worst hotel experience I have ever had.
- R4010CHsarahs (8/5): Pleasantly Surprised - I wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. We had an extremely quiet, mid-week stay even though it appeared the hotel was full or near capacity. I felt very safe staying here solo with my young daughter. The desk clerk was friendly and accommodated my request for a second floor room. We stayed in a king studio suite. It was clean and very large. The bed was comfortable, and the room was warm despite the recent falling temperatures. There were a few aspects of the room that were a little dated, but overall this hotel is nice and serves its purpose. We enjoyed our 2 night stay. The location is great, a very easy on and off the Interstate. I would recommend to anyone looking for a decent, budget friendly place to stay. We stayed at a similar property in La Crosse days later for 2.5 times the price. Frankly, there was little difference between this property and that one other than location. I’d recommend this hotel!
- Monte (9/5): - I felt like the owners of this property work hard at keeping it clean and updated. Is it a 4 or 5 star hotel, no. But for what it is, it is at the top. I was pleasantly surprised and I would consider staying here again. It is a good value with out compromise. If I were to be picky--I didn't care much for the mattress. Seemed a little thin and like it had a hole where someone slept all the time.
- Richard (10/5): - Parking was great. The room was clean and comfortable, however the bathroom floor ( especially in the corners and behind the toilet needs better cleaning.
- mary (8/5): - Clean room. Quiet. Breakfast was very good. Close to freeway. A couple of places to eat nearby.
- Michael (7/5): -

- CHRYSTAL (10/5): - Easy check-in and out. Very convenient location. We stay here frequently.
- Yolanda (10/5): Clean comfortable - Great breakfast selctiin Nothing. Enjoyed our stay very much
- Jane (8/5): - The morning breakfast had a nice selection and the staff was friendly. The location was wonderful and quiet. We did ask when checking in if there was any place in the area to get a pizza and the gentleman went into the entry way and handed me a brochure for Pizza Ranch in Lacrosse, which was out of the way. We did Google search and found a pizza place in West Salem and not far from where we were. Maybe he wasn't familiar with the area, but you would think you would promote other businesses in your area.
- Daniel (10/5): - 👍
- Tigger55 (7/5): Ok - Bed was comfortable Needs a deep clean. Dirt around the edges of the room and bathroom. Shower fixed with duck tape
- Euerle (8/5): -

- Marshall (7/5): -
- BEVERLY (8/5): - Nice rooms. Clean. Nice breakfast. Would stay here again.
- Melinda (10/5): Quick stop, but clean and comfortable - We were not there long enough to really decide, came in late at night and left early Bed was comfortable and room was clean No comment same as above
- Joseph (10/5): - Near late night dining
- Mark (9/5): - Location
- Donald (10/5): - Right off the interstate.
- Michael (5/5): -
- Nancy (8/5): Was just OK. - Easy location, could have more blankets.
Had 2 conditioners and no shampoo.
Bed was too firm, air conditioner loud.
- Beth (10/5): - Staff is so friendly, very clean
- jillian (10/5): Very clean, front desk was helpful with restaurant selections. I would stay again. - Clean N/A
- Mary Jo (8/5): - Convenient
- Heat07 (9/5): Clean and comfortable. - Clean comfortable room. Easy access to the highway. Good value for stay. nothing.
- Cindy (8/5): - It was a convenient location. Pool water was cold as was the room itself.
- H6585HBjamess (8/5): Nice Place to Stay - We enjoyed our stay here. Our 2nd floor room with the king bed was comfortably spacious, clean, not clammy, and the tiles and grout in the bathroom were not gross like it can be in certain hotels. The AC worked great, the window blinds were above average, and the room felt modern (not dated). The bed was comfortable, and despite being close to the lobby, it was very quiet. The breakfast was your typical fare (nothing to write home about), and the lobby had some pesky flies buzzing around that made breakfast a little irritating. The coffee in the lobby was actually pretty good, which was a pleasant surprise. I would recommend this hotel as one of the preferred places to stay while in the area.
- Mary Ann (8/5): - Good value
- Angela (10/5): - What a great place located in a wondeful small town yet very close to the city of Lacross
- Fontella (10/5): - Overall great experience
- James and Hui (10/5): - Clean, friendly staff and convenience
- melissa (10/5): A must stay! - Loved it! Quiet and enjoyable
- Mary (9/5): Very nice stay, would stay there again. - Very friendly and accommodating staff and the room was very clean. The eggs and sausage served at the continental breakfast was not very warm. Some of the facilities were outdated.
- jolynnc227 (10/5): Highly Recommend Booking Your Stay at AmericInn in New Salem, WI - We were very pleased with our stay at AmericInn in West Salem, WI. The place was clean and the staff was very there are pleasant.
- Michael (8/5): - Place was clean .. just noisy early morning. Some staff friendly some not so much
- SharonLDRN (6/5): OK but some issues - Stayed here since it was close to a wedding venue we were attending .We had reserved a handicapped room since my husband is still recovering from a broken leg and requires a walker. The moderate-sized room was very clean and we appreciated the large bathroom, easy to maneuver with walker. He bed was comfortable and the area was quiet. Loved the gorgeous bedside lamps. also a nice shade/drape window combo. There was no lighting in the room entry way and overall room lighting was inadequate. Very dim lights in bathroom, not suitable for shaving, etc. Made it difficult to prepare to go to a wedding. When we arrived both handicapped spots were taken. Seemed that one was being utilized by an employee with a "baby on board" sign. The racks for the fridge shelves were missing, so hard to utilize fridge for the three days. Very strange toilet handle, when I inquired at the desk that it would not flush, he came to the room and instructed that I needed to hold down hard on the lever until it flushed. He felt it was apparently necessary to repeat this in a stern manner several times and that it was not anything that would be eventually changed. Anytime I went to the desk to inquire bout anything like where I might locate a restaurant or food delivery, the person at the desk had apparently been instructed to repeat everything in the language of the (?mgr) a man sitting on the couch in the front lounge area with what appeared to have some sort of leg injury with crutches. There was usually another person sitting there with him who was always on a cell phone speaking rapidly and LOUDLY in another language . Breakfast had the THINNEST possible paper plates they could have, making it difficult to hold any food with out collapse.
- Joseph (10/5): - Good stay
- JESSICA ELIZABETH (10/5): - I was very happy with my stay. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was good.
- yi (8/5): - The check-in staff is very nice. Breakfast is good with sausages and eggs. The hotel is quiet and clean. The only problem is that the bathtub is clogged and drains slowly.
- Brandie (8/5): I would recommend it for sure - Simple and modern Gotta slam the doors shut
- George (8/5): Very good - Very quiet ,comfortable, good breakfast.
- Higgins (7/5): Good -
- elizabeth (10/5): - Service from the hotel staff was friendly and responsive.
Breakfast was nice.
- Verified traveler (6/5): No cribs available - The website states free cribs. I called the day of check in to be sure a crib would be available. I was told to let them know upon check in and they have cribs available. Upon check in, I was told they do not have cribs.
- Kathy (10/5): - Clean, quiet and friendly staff. Eggs and sausage everyday along with the waffles and cereal. Pool and hot tub were nice also. Easy access off freeway but far enough it was quiet.
- birdluver79 (10/5): Great place to stay. Highly recommend. - This is a very nice hotel.
Pros:
Pool and Hot tub are clean and warm
Quiet- cannot hear people in the next room nor road traffic
Good breakfast- variety of choices (waffles, sausage , eggs, cold cereals, yogurt, muffins, fruits, bread & English muffins, milk, juices, coffee, tea etc.)
Very clean and newly redecorated
Reasonably priced
Beds are very comfortable
Cons:
Language barrier with staff
Pillows could have been higher quality
Would definitely stay here again!
- Robert E (10/5): Grea5 stay - Have stayed here a few times and each stay just gets better. The hot tub does leave a little to be desired. But very friendly and helpful. Will stay again.

- Kent (10/5): - The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Excellent pet area.

- Deborah (8/5): - Clean and comfortable
- Rostyslav (10/5): Exceptional -
- Terry (8/5): - More blanket options. Fresh painting would be good.
AC needed condensation tray emptied. Made the room feel wet.
- Cheryl (8/5): - The only reason for the higher ratings was the staff….thanks!
- Darla L. (10/5): - The staff were wonderful!! They were NEVER just sorting around. In fact, they were always hard at work. Their boss had a broken foot so they were pitching in for him. They were wonderful!
We will definitely stay there again! You should, too! Loved this plane!
- Shondra L. (10/5): - Property was clean and breakfast was good
- William (10/5): Awesome!!! - Everything!!! Nothing
- Groth (6/5): Clean and reasonably priced - Scenic views private location yet close to the hwy Our toilet wouldn’t flush
- Dr. Joel (8/5): - clean, friendly, well-lit parking, decent breakfast, an all around good place to stay
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Derek (8/5): - Stopped for the night. Well kept. Comfortable and a goid breakfast.
- norenes989 (8/5): Very nice motel - The room was nice and clean. The housekeeping staff provided us with everything we needed and made sure we were comfortable. The room was very quiet and there were a lot of people there, so it was nice that we did not hear any noise. The breakfast was pretty good; there were a lot of choices. The only negative for us was the language barrier. Most of the staff were hard to understand because they didn't speak English very well, but we managed and everything was okay.
- BRIAN (10/5): - Vary nice place to stay
Will rebook next year
- Scott (8/5): Overall not bad. We’ll be back - Location was perfect Not enough blankets and pillows were too small
- kitsuanddate (8/5): Good Location - The location was great, just minutes from several bike trail heads, but in a calm location. The hotel was pleasant-very quiet, nicely decorated, comfortable bed/bedding, nice pool & hot tub. Would stay again if in the area. Good value. We stayed mid week.
- Virginia (8/5): - Close to LaCrosse. Wing Wednesday at local bar was great.
Check in- basic- no overly welcoming or discussion. Person was quiet and quick.
- Len (6/5): - waffles were chewy gooey 2 days in a row- beds were the worst We have ever experienced. , just ok on cleanliness, sink and shower drained slow (we advised staff). good rate but I think we would pay more and stay in Lacrosse next time
