• Matthew (4/5): Disappointment from otherwise great hotel chain - We have stayed in a few B&B Hotels in France and have found them to be great, including the Poitiers Aéroport hotel a couple of weeks earlier. Similarly the hotel in Alencon Nord was also great. However, the Dieppe hotel was a disappointment. The safety lock for the gate to the balcony was broken (top of very steep stairs within the room), the bathroom was damp, there were exposed wires in the balcony bedroom. Not what I’ve come to expect.

Very tight to move around but the beds are the hardest bed ive ever slep on and I travel quite a lot . 18 hotels booked on this trip 2 have been B&B and i think they bought the hardeat matresses known to man in bulk .

• Richard (4/5): Not the Cleanest Hotel. - The reception closes at 2130. We arrived at 2140. To check in we had to enter a code into an automatic check-in machine. Unfortunately, our code was not recognised. There were no staff on site but there was an intercom to contact a remote call centre. Sadly, this was very hit and miss, being cut off several times. It took 40 minutes to get through to an agent who gave us a new check in code. Having successfully checked in, the door wouldn't unlock until we had paid 2 Euro city tax via a credit card terminal. We tried 4 different cards and the terminal wouldn't read any of them. Another 20 minutes trying to get through to customer services eventually solved the problem. The room was disappointing. It seems cleanliness isn't their top priority. Dusty pipes, sticky taps and floors welcomed us. I very much doubt that we would stay at a hotel in the B&B chain again but, if we did, we would certainly make sure to arrive whilst staff were on site. As a positive, breakfast was good. Continental and cooked offerings.

Des chambres très sonores et des gens faisant la fête jusqu’à l’aube !!! Impossible de dormir avec des portes claquant sans arrêt !

• David (2/5): - I know French budget hotels are always on an industrial estate but this one was quite bad. It is also a robot hotel so you have to key various codes into a large screen outside the hotel before you get a code which will let you into your cell, errr I mean room. The breakfast room was too small and the breakfast wasn't worth paying for. Overall, this motel seemed more like cheap halls of residence in an inner city polytechnic.

• Annika (2/5): - After trying for 20 minutes to use the self-check in system, mid afternoon on a Saturday, finally got assigned a room and code. Walked in the room, incredibly small for a family of 4, very noisy, and did not feel very safe. Basic is the word and run down. Promptly left and booked a room somewhere else for the night
• STEPHEN (4/5): - Hi, we found the room quite dirty and also there was guest who were talking and shout till 2am. If there was staff onsite they may have been able to stop this.
• Andrew (2/5): - We stayed here with our two young kids and it didn’t leave a positive impression. There were bugs in the room and a dead bat in a neighbours’ doorway. There didn’t appear to be any staff at the hotel after ~8:30pm so there wasn’t much that we could do about the room. At ~11:30pm there was a loud group of guys who banged doors, shouted and laughed for approximately 1h30mins, it felt rather unsafe as there was no staff or any reasonable way of dispersing them. It wasn’t a good night’s sleep and I wouldn’t recommend.
• Nigel (10/5): - We found the hotel was easy from the ferry.. car park was a good size and free. We booked in by machine by door which was easy , they send a code to your email for your room . Our room was on 1st floor with a lift available. The room with 4 single beds 2 down stairs and 2 on a mezzanine were very comfortable. there was not much room downstairs but sufficient for one nights stay, The en suite was a good size, shower worked perfectly. No noise from neighbouring rooms. there was a campsite bar 5 minutes walk away. The music inside was deafening but good to see the locals having a knees up. Breakfast was VERY good. not only was it continental but there was streaky bacon and scrambled eggs!. thinking about it is making me hungry! Very good value and service. If we do another trip I will look forward to going back. The whole site was clean. Staff were polite helpful and happy in their work. I hope future people who stay there find it as good as we did!

Bathroom spotless, toiletries provided which is helpful on a quick stopover. Ten minutes from the ferry. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is fresh and good value.

• Zeinab (6/5): - This was a very convenient hotel for getting off the ferry at Dieppe. Late check in was a bit tricky. I'd emailed in advance to say that we wouldn't be arriving until 11pm. The hotel sent me a code to use on the check in machine but the machine only accepted surname and booking reference. I hadn't been sent a booking reference by Expedia or the hotel. There was an intercom system next to the check in machine which called hotel staff who, after several attempts to spell my surname, gave me the room number and door access code. The family room was very well laid out, with the single beds on a mezzanine level above the bathroom. The room was very clean, the beds were a great size and the shower was really good-quite rare in most budget hotels. Overall, great value for money and a convenient way to start a journey from Deippe port.

In all fairness, they did email be the code before I arrived but it didn't work. The guy on the other end of the intercom was absolutely excellent but it was a lot to have to do after a long day of travel and immigration queues

• George (8/5): Good location for ferry stopover. - Cheap and cheerful stopover before catching the Dieppe-Newhaven ferry very early the next morning. Very pleasant staff, simple book in. One double bed downstairs with small bathroom, two single beds up a fairly steep flight of stairs. Plenty of restaurants within a five minute drive. Good value for money.

• Stephen (8/5): Access an issue with hotels.com - Just a quick stop before a morning ferry. The only issue is that you need a booking code if arriving after reception closes and this is not provided using hotels. Com There was an intercom and eventually someone who could speak English gave us the room access code. This is not the hotel at fault but more an issue with booking a room through a third party website.

• James (8/5): Good value - Hotel, b&b.... exactly that. Functional, clean and good value. Arrived late off the ferry and received friendly help via the intercom system. Breakfast was simple but excellent, again helpful and welcoming staff.
• Eric (4/5): - The hotel is a large building, but at night when checking in, all the outside lights were out making it difficult to see and unsafe. The automated checkin machine also was not working properly. There are so many cheap hotels in the area, I would not recommend this one.

• Glenn (8/5): Convenient comfortable motel - Styled like a motel with the possibility to park outside one's room this is a very convenient hotel. We had a comfortable ground floor room with air-conditioning. Breakfast is not brilliant but keeps away the hunger!
• Nigel (2/5): - The room smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke despite being a non-smoking room (?). To make the stay even worse, a coach of school children turned up and were running around/making noise until 2am as well being very disrespectful to other paying guests.

• Judith (4/5): Disappointing return trip - I have stayed at this hotel before when using the Dieppe-Newhaven crossing and have always been very happy there. I'm not quite sure what happened this time but it is was disappointing from the start. I arrived at 4.45 and there was no receptionist so I checked in online (which I have done before). This worked perfectly and the machine spat out my details (literally onto the floor - but no problem). As I climbed the stairs I realised that my room was right at the top of the stairs, above where the other residents gathered outside reception to smoke. I presume that the cleaner must have opened my window whilst cleaning because on entering the room the smell of cigarette smoke was totally obnoxious and almost made me gag. The room itself was great and what I expected and actually very clean however the smell was overpowering. Of course there was nobody to complain to and I had just driven all day from Spain so needed to get my head down. I didn't stay for breakfast however everything that had been in the room stank of smoke making the car stink. I apologise if I offend smokers but to somebody who has never smoked this smell is absolutely sickening. The room was also really noisy! Needless to say I will not be returning. Its disappointing as I stayed the previous night at another B&B hotel (in Bollene) and the experience could not have been more different. I was given a quiet room, at the end of the top floor, away from other noisier guests and really appreciated it.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Budget overnight stay - Excellent location: minutes away from the ferry. Very cool layout: our 5 year old loved staying upstairs in the same room. Room: the room was not very big but there was enough space for our overnight stay. Cleanliness: there were number of mould patches around the silicone and ceiling of the shower and dirt on the floor in the bathroom which, in the middle of a pandemic, we were a bit disappointed to see. Check-in: our hotels.com reservation number did not work on the machine for our late check-in but the host had been called by someone else already and was very helpful and made sure everything was ok.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Nice hotel close to the ferry port - We had a major problem on arriving. We arrived at 11pm, having come into France on the Dieppe Ferry. We had 2 small children with us. During our holiday in the UK we had no internet access. We therefore had no access codes and on contacting the help number there was no record of our booking. We spent about 15 minutes outside the hotel with 2 small, exhausted children whilst the problem was sorted out. Saying that, the room was clean and comfortable and we slept well.

Very awkward for anyone on the second level to use the toilet during the night, steps were very steep and the toilet was very close to the bed on the first level. Everything is locked up and there is a machine you are suppose to follow instructions in French only to be allowed into the building. The machine did not work. The buttons were all broken so when you tried to put in your reference number or surname it just said error error error. We were very tired and with two kids and needed a place to stay. We went to a different hotel because we certainly could not get inside this one! The whole ordeal really ruined our trip
• Jack (6/5): Economical and very comfortable stay - We stayed here to rest in Dieppe before driving out the next morning. Check in and out was easy enough. This is more a B&B as name suggests so don't expect lots of facilities but shops around the corner and room is self-contained. Stayed here with family and kids loved the beds on the mezzanine! It's clean and quiet and perfect as a base to start your holiday or to recoup on your way back - convenient for ferrys from Newhaven.
