- jamie (9/5): Walking Pennine way Great location Friendly staff Well equipped kitchen - Excellent good value Bunk beds a little small and uncomfortable
- Meridyth (10/5): Perfect recovery stay in a tough bike trip! - The staff were lovely and welcoming, the secure bike shed was a bonus as me and a friend were staying here on a cycle tour. We were warm, and comfortable and slept very well. The location was gorgeous and I would certainly return if I were in the area. I can't think of anything
- Peter (9/5): Great - Great location with lovely views All ok
- Luke (10/5): - The location was lovely and the staff were very accommodating. Nothing

- Jim (9/5): - It’s was exactly what we needed for a bike trip. Our own room, breakfast and a nice communal area with a bar. Happy days No complaints from me
- Celia (8/5): -
- Phil (4/5): Disappointing stay!!! - Breakfast was OK. I thought we had to hire a towel at £2.50 but when we got to the room there were already towels there.
The bunk bed was not at all comfortable. Ensuite shower not very clean.
- Linda (4/5): Fairly comfortable - Satisfied with experience A bit stark
- Gobalakrishnan (10/5): Had a great time here - We had a wonderful time here. Facility is well maintained and clean. Shout out to Steve & co for their attentive hospitality. Will visit again definitely.

- Vito (10/5): Thoroughly recommended - Lovely little hostel in the Dales. I went up for a long weekend, and was able to work remotely in the common room on the Friday (which helped me skip the half term traffic). The drying room was very helpful, as was the laundry facility (arranged through reception). I wanted to shout out the friendly staff, and in particular Steve (General Manager); he was always happy to help.
- Philip (8/5): Comfortable, good value for money, great location. - Very friendly staff, great breakfast, super location. Nothing
- Ronald (6/5): - Rustige plek met mooi uitzicht Je mag pas om 17.00 uur binnen en de kamer is best wel prijzig voor het gebodene.

- Martin (3/5): Unterkunft in guter Lage aber schlechtem Preis-Leistung Verhältnis. - Freundliches Personal Zu kurze Check-In/Out Zeiten, unzeitgemäße Zutrittskontrolle, abgewohnte Ausstattung und schlechter Allgemeinzustand,
- Simon (5/5): Expensive but practical. - Location and helpful staff. Suited our mission as we needed to leave early and sort our own breakfast as well as store provisions for the next day. What is that universal smell the YHA's have? Very expensive for an uncomfortable bunk bed.
- Debbie (10/5): - Great location, good facilities, comfy bed good breakfast Nonthing

- Blakeborough (5/5): First time we have stayed in a Youth Hostel at the ages of 66 and 64. We thoroughly enjoyed it. - The room, though basic was comfortable and clean. Bedding was very clean (towel less so).
The staff were very friendly and genuinely helpful. We liked the access to the kitchen and availability of coffee makings. Really enjoyed it. Lack of any kind of charging points for phones, particularly USB. This is in a walking area on the Pennines and mobile phones are important for safety.
Also the picnic packed lunch was poor. Not as described in quantity and out-of-date snacks.
Edit..I have had an excellent response to my ‘picnic’ packed lunch issue. I have received a swift apology and an appropriate recompense from management. This was a one-off problem, now resolved. Thank you.
- Robert (4/5): Disappointing -
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Erika (10/5): exceeded my expectation - This hostel exceeded my expectation.
Especially Cleanliness was amazing.
Also in the kitchen they have free tea, milk, salt, pepper that helped us traveling with minimum stuff for cooking.
- Neville (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was great, staff could not have done more for us. The lounge area is a wonderful place to relax and have a drink. The weather on Saturday, it spoiled our motorbiking trip. Does anybody read these reviews by the way?
- Zoe (10/5): A lovely place to stay with such a welcoming atmosphere. - The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
- Gillian (10/5): Superb and a breakfast to die for - Friendly. Everything way better than expected Nil
- Susan (9/5): Staff very helpful nice big communal area with good vibe - I liked that when I arrived at 7.40pm I was able to get a dinner. Also that I was able to buy a map There was a small piece of plastic in my dinnerl

- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Andrea (3/5): Poor -
- Garden (10/5): Very friendly staff and great location.Hawes is lovely little market town - A little pricey for a hostel room with a shared bathroom but I did have my own room…and it was everything I needed after a long day on The Pennine Way. The drying room was perfect.
- Malinda (9/5): Photography tip - Was what we expected as it caters for Hikers and people doing outdoor activities Beds could be a bit more comfortable
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (5/5): A cold room - Fabulous views . Friendly staff. No towels provided and no notice of this. No en-suite facilities. Room was very cold at night heating and bedding inadequate.

- Patrick (8/5): Friendly, clean and comfortable place to stay in excellent location. - Very friendly and helpful man on desk and friendly lady serving breakfast. Comfortable lounge with drinks and lots to read. Above all, I.pressed by how clean the toilets and showers were kept. Nothing!
- Clinton (6/5): Pleasant - Great location Fully comprehend the basic facilities as it is a YHA but thought the price was taking the P
Supply and Demand I suppose
Plus ➕ Having paid £85 a night for a basic basic room asked to drop your bed linen and towels and drop off on leaving whats that about ?? !!

- Richard (7/5): Good -
- Simon (8/5): Classic youth hostel in a gorgeous quiet location - A very classic youth hostel in a quiet gorgeous location. Wensleydale cheese factory (terrific tour) just around the corner. Stayed in an en-suite with towels provided. Sleeping on the top bunk bed was fun. No TV (of course) but fast WiFi if needed. It’s a youth hostel, so don’t expect any luxuries!
- James (9/5): Superb -
- John (6/5): Pleasant -
- Brown (8/5): Very good - Great location, staff and squeaky ckean The mattress was uncomfortable l
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - Kitchen facilities. Clean. Hard pillows. Tiny room for 3 with nowhere to put rucksacs

- Motorway (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- Angela (8/5): Excellent value. - Excellent value. Very organised. Friendly staff. Food was Ok but not great.
- Margaret (8/5): Very good - I don't eat breakfast, so didn't order it.
Loved having the kitchen with possibility to store food, cook, and make hot drinks. The packed lunch was overpriced
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Denise (10/5): Well set up hostel. - Very responsive and helpful staff. Great atmosphere. Good access to walking tracks. Well set up for self catering. Excellent boot/drying room. No stair lift.
- Janet (8/5): staff were friendly and helpful, - expensive for the amount and choice given, no toast , crumpets which not everyone enjoys more choice.
- Tony (8/5): Very good - Friendliest of the staff, helpful, chatty and nothing was an issue for them, great location. Cost of meals, were happy to pay the price but what we got for it was a little disappointing.
- Dana (4/5): Would not stay at this one again. - The bed was comfy and the location was convenient. Have stayed at quite a few YHAs and this was the most disappointing experience so far.
When we arrived they said we had cancelled our booking, which we had not. They were able to sort us out, but not ideal.
Our room was right next to the toilets and the doors were slamming all night and all morning as people were using them - got very little sleep. The kitchen was dirty and the common room was heaving and super loud well into the evening.
For a room that cost almost £100, it was of poor standard.
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laurence (10/5): Perfect accommodation in a spectacular place - Location perfect would stay here again and plan to Nothing to change they have a perfect balance
