Guest Reviews
- Lauren (9/5): - Staff were amazing. Kind and helpful. Especially the lovely guy behind the front desk. Our room was very stuffy. I believe it was because there were multiple pipes running around the walls. Can't be helped but we had to sleep with our door propped open.

- wh (8/5): - Great location and value for money. It was good for us and I will definitely be staying again in two weeks time. Building is old with heavy fire doors in bedrooms which are a bit noisy.
- Nasser (10/5): -
- Scott (8/5): Great, apart from showers - Parking is a welcome addition. Shower is poor design. Curtain makes certain there is no dry floor anywhere.
- HE (10/5): - Vibe,location,staff,everything
- Jon (9/5): Great staff. Clean and comfy. Quite & well located - Clean basic comfy Nothing
- Michael (6/5): Great location and breakfast - Great location near the town center and coastal bus service No atmosphere, and tired facilities
- michelle (8/5): - The room was lovely really enjoyed the breakfast
- Julija (8/5): - Tik permiegoti super Labai viskas girdisi, net durų uždarymas kituose kambariuose, Na ir puodelio trukumas
- Nia (7/5): Great value for money - Very friendly staff, good value for money, were accommodating when we were delayed arriving due to train issues A little noisy
- Derek (7/5): Basic but good value - Where else can you get an adequate, clean room for £30? A chair in the room would be nice
- SALLY (7/5): Great hostel. - Really friendly snd helpful staff. Value for money. Mattresses were plastic covered, not good for middle aged women 😬

- Barbara (10/5): I liked the hostel for a short stay and would return! - Excellent location and friendly guests and staff! Shared room and bathroom down the hallway
- Katy (7/5): Did the job - Good location , and facilities, comfy bed Bit tired looking , room was tiny , enjoyed the games room
- Ralf (8/5): Freundlich, sauber , alles gepasst , gerne wieder - Relativ zentrale und ruhige Lage , Nähe Supermarkt Trittschall vom Raum über mir etwas nervig

- Ian (10/5): -
- Kayann (6/5): - Breakfast lovely, The rooms reflected price paid. It was what I expected for accommodation on a budget. The bedsheets were clean overall the bedroom was clean. good showers as well Better would deserve the prices of a hotel stay, so it is value for what is on offer.
- Barbara (8/5): I enjoyed staying and would return - Great location and facilities Shared dorm room in this location should be 4 people not 6
- Maddie (8/5): - Handy location, friendly staff, good breakfast.

- Niloofar (8/5): Free parking , clean and good staff but so far - Polite staff , free parking , clean room and shared bathroom , could barrow an iron for my dress and a Heather as room was so cold. If you are not in a hurry and would like to enjoy from a beach city, it is very good option. The road to get there is not easy and you have to go through the side roads with speed limits. I was still on the road after sunset and the road was very scary. A big deer and a rabbit came in front of my car and I was very lucky that I didn't hit them. The next day, because I was in a hurry to go to Tring, I didn't get to see the city at all. I only went to the beach, which was very stormy. At four in the morning, a lady who was my roommate made a lot of noise and woke me up. When I hissed at her and said, "Be quiet, it's four in the morning," she was very rude and selfish, and she shook her bags to make more noise. The inconsiderate behavior of this rude lady made me unable to rest comfortably. Another girl who was in the room was asleep until ten o'clock and I couldn't get ready easily and had to do my hair and make up in the semi-dark room. If we share a room with others, we need to learn how to behave and respect others.
- jo (8/5): Good family stay for the price - Comfy, good value for money, friendly staff Bedroom wall could do with a paint. Need soap in the toilets.
- Sara (10/5): Amazing Value Great Great Stay - Amazing value Thankyou to the management for keeping this so affordable & running it so well N/A
- Viktoria (9/5): - Location cleanliness great staff Some doors are really heavy to handle you cant not make a noise coming in or out
- Christine (8/5): Cheap and cheerful - Cheerful staff, clean room, location ideal for my needs Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): Excellent - The location, was good for the town, private secure parking, clean, and the staff were excellent, great value
- Ben (7/5): - Location, parking and staff all excellent.
Cooked breakfast was very tasty and pretty large.
Games room, a lounge, TV and book shelf all very good. Beds very hard.
- Juliane (9/5): -
- Rupert (8/5): -
- Imogen (8/5): - Property is well situated, close to bus stops, train station, local shops and amenities, good walks, etc
Staff were friendly and professional
Facilities were clean
Plenty of places to socialise with other visitors
Overall would say this is excellent value for money (I paid £15/ night) Worth knowing that there are no shelves besides the beds or in the showers for your toiletries, under bed storage might not fit your suitcase, and the locker spaces are quite small so storage space can be limited

- Marc (10/5): - The staff here are exceptional 👏 I left 2 pairs of brand new ipods and I didn't even realise until after many missed phone calls I answered an unknown number and it was a gentleman who informed me he had them and he actually posted them for me out of there money didn't even ask for a payment of me , I think that he went beyond all expectations. Thank you so much .
- Bimala (9/5): -
- Priska (8/5): -
- David (10/5): Perfect for what we needed - Everything Nothing
- Jennifer (7/5): Over all it was a perfect place. - Location was perfect close to Heathrow and other amenities. Kettle was not cleaned in the kitchen.
- Abbi (10/5): Lovely - Rooms were clean, beds were comfy, great value for money, will return! An extra plug socket maybe, might being a kettle next time :)
- Michael (9/5): V happy thank you - Perfect for what we needed with a great price Nothing
- Angela (10/5): - The rooms were spacious and very clean. The kitchen was very well equipped (remember to bring your own salt and pepper and oil though). The staff, Mike, was very friendly and nice.
- RICHARD1192 (9/5): Very cheap and excellent option for short stays. - Great location, easily accessible by local buses, taxi, or car. On‑site parking is available free of charge. A Tesco Metro is just a 3–4 minute walk away, and the train station is only a further 1–2 minutes beyond that. The seaside and town centre are also easily reachable on foot. The furniture, walls, and general condition/facilities are a little outdated, but perfectly fine for short stays. The bathrooms feel cold in winter, as the windows are fixed open and cannot be adjusted or closed, allowing cold air to come in as soon as you step out of the shower. The kitchen also felt quite greasy; the extractor fans were covered with spider webs and layers of centuries old dust.
- Nye (10/5): Excellent, exactly what I wanted, no real complaints, and I will definitely return - Friendly staff, excellent location, incredible prices WiFi was spotty in the dorm rooms.
- Catherine (8/5): Pleasant and convenient - Great location, friendly staff, generally quiet at night. Good cooking facilities. Great breakfast. Suggest putting air fresheners in rooms and corridors as can help disperse any smells. Also encourage people to wash up and put away when use kitchen facilities.
- Marc (10/5): -
- Parvesh (10/5): Excellent stay - I like the sharing kitchen and share living area Everything was great
- Sam (10/5): -
- david (9/5): - Friendliness of staff. Exceptionally clean premises Nothing

- Scott (10/5): Great - Perfectly decent for an overnight or 2. Breakfast is worth it too.
- Viktoria (9/5): -
- Pantelis (10/5): Great place - Great place to stay at None
- Sandra (8/5): Excellent value for money. Great location for Tesco, The Poppy line, town and beach. - Warm, dry, well laid out and clean. No access between 10am - 5pm as reception closed, and no door code issued with booking.
- Richard (6/5): Good value as always - Location, parking Signs of damp and defective decoration.
- Joanna (8/5): -
- zy (9/5): - Room is decent and great amenities, very clean and exceeded our expectations! Great location, just across from a large Tesco and very well furnished kitchen with lots of cooking appliances.
Overall, a great stay
- Kezzeltoff (7/5): Great location! - The staff were so welcoming and engaging, with having good conversation with the cook and receptionist.
The layout of the building is really nice with plenty of communal rooms to choose from.
Choice of games and pool table were great to see.
Breakfast was not bad and a good price for the options especially with being unlimited. Cleanliness was not great, particularly in the disability shower room.
The place could really do with having some of its areas freshly painted or at least touched up in some areas.
- Jane (9/5): - Shared kitchen
- Josh (8/5): -
- Christine (7/5): Cheap and cheerful and in a really convenient location. - Friendly and helpful staff...a well equiped communal kitchen and great value for money I was in the same corridor as a school group and it was really noisy at times but they never kept me awake and it is a youth hostel after all.
- Martin (9/5): Outstanding value for money - with very helpful staff - All very good.
breakfast and kitchen facilities in particular
- Andrew (8/5): - Good Price, a great breakfast, the rooms were clean.
- Denis (7/5): Pleasant evening - Great value for money, ideal location in centre of town, have been before and would go back N/A
- Svetla (10/5): -
- Beryl Anne (8/5): Cheap, simple, and friendly everything a good hostel should be. - Simple, cheap, friendly, good location. Nice big self catering kitchen. Think there could be storage to leave rucksacks on checkout day. Bike shed outside although locked doesn’t feel like an ok place to leave bags. Eg toilet nearest kitchen is huge maybe could have a cupboard or lockers inside it. Otherwise maybe lockers in a corridor area.
- Marek (10/5): -
- Kim H (10/5): Excellent value and comfortable bed. - Excellent value for money
Clean comfortable beds.
Hot showers great.
Great cooked breakfast.
Location perfect N/a
- Zoe (8/5): All in all a good stay. Cheap and Cheerful. You get what it says on the tin… however I’d most definitely recommend and w - Very well located and very close to the train station and a very convenient Tesco store at the end of the road.
Cheap accommodation and exactly what I needed.
Clean rooms and clean bedding and very peaceful and quiet in the evening.
Breakfast was good on one out of the two days Very Noisy come 7am, squeaky floorboards above woke me along with Many slamming doors at 7am…. I hadn’t slept well due to the bunk bed mattress being quite hard.
The community kitchen seemed well equipped but it took me a long time to actually FIND IT…..
Maybe better Signage could be put in place as it’s not in an obvious place???….. all I wanted to do was fill up my water bottle!
Breakfast on the second day was over dried, had been on the hot plate way too long, certainly not fresh, the bacon was inedible
- Kay (8/5): -
- Janet (9/5): Enjoyed. Coming back soon - Close to transport. Friendly helpful staff. Hostel excellent facilities. Bit cold. Could have turned heating on a few days earlier.
- Kerry (8/5): Fun stay and nice to support the YHA. - Well organised and everything we needed was available. Really good quality breakfast was appreciated. Fixed times for reception to arrive caught us out so had to stand out in the cold after a long bike ride to get there.
- Jane (7/5): -
- Lee Kempton (10/5): -
- Chris (8/5): - A typical youth hostel with cooking facilities. Good breakfast. Storage shed for bikes Bed wasn't comfortable
- Oleh (10/5): -
- Oleh (10/5): -
- robin (2/5): needs investment - the place is run down needs decorating badly the showers are poor very tatty never any hot water
- Nathalie (8/5): deux chouettes nuits - l'accueil et l'emplacement, la convivialité le bruit des portes qui claquent
- Nina (9/5): Excellent value. - Always good service, very pleasant staff and rooms and facilities clean and bright.
Hostel just across the road from Tesco, shops and restaurants. Nothing to dislike.
- Wayne (6/5): -
- david (2/5): Central location with parking but very dated and property felt dirty. - Central location with plenty of parking. Probably the worst YH I’ve stayed at. Very dated and felt very dirty throughout. For some reason the bunks were pushed up against an exposed built in wardrobe so spent most mornings trying to find items which had fallen in to the hole. Very limited bar facilities and no d of your usual local products.
- Oksana (10/5): -
- Raluca (10/5): - The lady at reception was amazing, friendly and helpful. The room and facilities where nice and clean. Definitely going to return.
- Colin (10/5): - Brilliant . But I forgot a towel ! Thanks . Colin
- Tim (8/5): No frills but really good value for one or two nights - The best thing was the affordability of the accommodation. I shared a bunk room with my daughter which was small but beds were new and all decorated recently. Breakfast was perhaps overpriced at £10 extra each since it was a limited choice and quality, but they did manage to offer a hot selection and it was convenient.
- Trevor (8/5): -
- Susan (9/5): -
- Susan (10/5): Comfortable base, friendly staff, great facilities. - Great facilities. We had a triple room. Comfortable beds and clean.
Loved playing pool I the games room and the breakfast was just right.
- Momin (7/5): - staff friendly always willing to help not the cleanest
