- Gillian (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Convenient location, good food choice in the restaurant/bar. Good value for money Initially given a twin room when it shows l should have been double but quickly sorted
- alison (10/5): -
- Ivan (8/5): - Staff very friendly and breakfast good value
- Christine (8/5): -
- Jonathon (8/5): Great price compared to other hotels in the area - Great price, comfy bed, large TV, lighting good and staff nice. Plenty of parking. Shower was bath mixer taps and difficult to get the cold and hot taps turned onto combine the right temperature. No electrical sockets on the wall by the bed.
- Deborah (10/5): - Nice clean room. Staff are friendly and polite, breakfast was lovely Nothing
- Adrian (8/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): Plesent place to stay - Handy location Nothing
- DANIEL (10/5): Brentwood - Always stay here when I come back to Rotherham. Perfect location, staff always very friendly
- Helen (8/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Goessler (9/5): Great house but in need of some maintenance - Very nice and helpful staff, sensational breakfast, parking space directly on the site, the room was extremely well cut, so cozy and yet so much space to stow away luggage and many places to plug in your gear. Very comfy beds!
Oh, almost forgot: we got a heated towel rail in the bathroom.
Astonishing low price for a stay in such a beautiful house The wi-fi kept falling out, there was no bulb in the cosmetic mirror in the bathroom, the bathroom door couldn't be closed because the door catch didn't move, the TV only showed about 6 stations, mainly shopping stations.
- Des (7/5): -
- Elinor (10/5): Staff lovely and welcoming, would stay there again - Charming character property
- Samantha (9/5): -
- gwynn (8/5): good comfortable stay. - good comfortable stay, good location , friendly staff
- Eva (10/5): - Excellent stay from start to finish. The property was very clean, the food was great, and the room temperature was perfect. The shower was hot and powerful, access was easy with no hassle at all, and it was great not having to pay extra for parking.
After a stressful experience elsewhere, this place was exactly what we needed. We will definitely come back.
- David (10/5): - Loved the staff all food and drinks were good value and very nice
- joan (8/5): Excellent position for hospital - Friendly staff lovely food Extractor fan was going all night
Bit dated but clean
- Cook (10/5): - First time visiting. Nice room, with all facilities. Usual layout for a Greene King. Good food. N/A
- Andy (8/5): Nice setting, nice enough room. Would definitely stay again - Nice bar, lovely location. Rooms were nice enough and clean. The accommodation premises were maybe a little tired, but fine and commensurate with price paid No working telephone number, which meant I could not speak to anyone about confusion on changes to my booking. And very slow responses to email.
Shower mixer tap was uber sensitive. Slightest of adjustments took a hot shower too either scalding or cold with nothing in between

- Henry (7/5): - Booked for a double bed only to get two single beds combined, making it very uncomfortable.
- sooz (6/5): - For the price it was ok The room needs updating the entrance hall into the rooms was untidy there was a strong smell of disinfectant or something like that in our room bed was hard and uncomfortable plus we waited for over half an hour for a dessert in the restaurant I asked the waiter could he cancel our order we need ed to be at a presentation evening by 7pm it was now 6.35pm because I had already paid for it I asked could the money be taken off our breakfast next morning he totally ignored my request and walked off so we had paid for something we never had 😡
- Sean (9/5): -
- Hawthorne Upholstery Ltd (7/5): value for money but don`t raise your hopes in the annex - We stayed in the annex and the rooms where fine but felt like we were in a hospital wing.
The main building looked much more inviting and the staff were terrific. The bar, food and staff were great
- John (3/5): Very let down and no customer service to regular customers. - The property is great. The rooms are fantastic. Great pub with good beer and good food. I booked 4 nights. About 1 hour after booking my wife was taken into hospital. I then handed my keys back in and told the receptionist that I no longer needed the room and explained about my wife. She took all my details and said that the manager would give me a ring. I knew before I booked that I wasn’t due a refund I paid £235 for 4 nights. I just asked if there was anything they could do even if it was a discount or a night stay for free. Iv stayed a lot lately and would have needed to stay a lot in the future as well. I didn’t hear anything back from anyone. The week after I stayed again and I asked the assistant manager about it and again they took my details and said the manager would ring me. Nothing. Even if it was just a call to say they wasn’t anything they could do. I rang up again and asked and was told the same thing and again nothing. No phone call email nothing. Was really disappointing as the hotel and pub its self are great.
- Mayne (10/5): - Great place very clean great locatiom Mothing
- Alison (5/5): - Food available on site We were in the annexe, very dated. Bathrooms definitely need updating
- Ally (10/5): Excellent for money - Breakfast was good, staff were really lovely and helpful, nice room. Excellent for money. Sheets were a little rough
- Gary (5/5): Always clean and comfortable for a visit to see our son - Convenient for our sons care home Had to move rooms because of a water leak
- Suzie (10/5): Staff were extremely friendly, room was lovely and clean, bed comfy but just a tad small but were used to a king size be - Absolutely gorgeous in keeping with it’s original history Nothing
- Ronn (8/5): - Very friendly staff.
Location perfect for the area we were in..
Good vibes!
- Russell (9/5): - Always happy , stay regular Bed was hard
- Irena (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (7/5): Comfortable stay. - The staff were very friendly. It was fine for our brief stay. Breakfast was good. Comfy big bed No one answering the phone when we tried to cancel one night due to
Unforeseen circumstances.
- Sophie (10/5): A very pleasant, budget friendly stay - A very basic but clean and comfortably sized room. There is plenty of parking which is great! Only a 15 min drive from Sheffield City centre.
The room was quiet, beds were comfortable enough with extra pillows provided if needed. Lots of hanging and storage space - the iron and ironing board were a welcome addition!
For the price, we were very pleased with our stay. Nothing.
- Zoe (5/5): Quality reflects the price. - The price was very reasonable,
The location was ideal The rooms are very dated, I understand the building as a whole is old but it felt very youth hostel and feel they would benefit from modernising. The TV in the room didnt work it had no working channels. The toilet seat was broken and only attached at one side and the bathroom again was very dated with a shower over the bath. It also had a strange smell a little fusty and the room as a whole had an old smell, and dim lights made it lack brightness and the sense of clean and fresh. The bedside table had a broken drawer too. The noise from rooms next door was very loud, knowing when they we using the bathroom. It served the purpose for what we needed the room for but wouldnt return or recommend to friends or family to use.
- joanna (9/5): -
- Viktoria (10/5): - Everything, wonderful staff, wonderful room, great food! Nothing
- Colin (1/5): My booking was cancelled by the hotel 5 hours before check-in. - The hotel cancelled my booking on the morning of my stay so I can only rate it as 1/10.
- Rachael (4/5): Don't believe the hype - Heated towel rail. Big TV. Location is nowhere near any other amenities. Allocated room vastly inferior to the one indicated on booking. Staff worked hard to resolve issues but relocated room had bright green interior light on all night making sleep impossible. Woken early by noise from above room's shower, conversations then by constant loud banging of doors.
- Alison Burdaky (9/5): - Great easy stay we were there for the football and came back after the match for drinks and food the staff were lovely and the cocktails were great we jad quite a few lo g island iced teas room comfy and clean nice size lovely old pub we had a problem with noise from room below and it was dealt with quickly a really nice stay , id definitely stay again could do with a bit of music in the bar
- Michael (1/5): -
- Tradewell (8/5): - Good value for money, welcoming staff, good facilities.
- Zeng (5/5): Not too bad - Good location. Cheaper than sheffield. Still Too dim with all the lights on. Can't read books at night. Not good for eyes.
- Stephen (9/5): -
- Heraghty (7/5): Short pleasant stay suited the purpose of our visit to Rotherham. - Didn't have breakfast, booked room only. We have used this hotel before. It is convenient for us to meet up with family in the area, very central, room basic but 100% clean and comfortable. Bonus is easy parking at the property . We also used the adjoining restaurant to eat with family. We were not looking for fancy hotel, but something convenient and clean, we got that.
- Gandalf (8/5): -
- Deborah (10/5): - Everything, very clean, well priced but above all else the staff very friendly helpful and went above and beyond to help us The big hill on way back from town lol
- Chris (3/5): Mostly fine. Bit smelly. - I like the car park being included, and close to the hotel doors. Plenty of spaces. On site bar was nice. The corridors smelled. The toilet room smelled. We looked under the bed while packing up, and it was filthy. The windows weren't really lockable, which is a big problem when you're on the ground floor. The corridor doors are set to slam noisily, which is a problem if people are using them early morning or late night.
- Steve (8/5): - Friendly, Welcoming, If critical pillows could be a little softer
- Gary (9/5): -
- Damon (8/5): -
- Neil (9/5): - everything nothing
- Matthew (10/5): Blackpool - Generally staff lovely Ian was a cantankerous old man
- Mr Robert (7/5): Good value for money and a very comfortable bed . - Location was good, as we were visiting relatives for the weekend. Room was clean and bed very comfortable, good blackout cutains. Decor was ok, but room definately needs a refresh ! Room would benefit with a redecoration.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Samantha (8/5): -
- Laura (3/5): Food has gone downhill big time since last visits in 2020.Shocked with menu changes and quality - The price of the room The food has gone really downhill. They don't do the steak and chicken skillets no more so I had hunters chicken and it was so poor .was so bland .Hardly any cheese and it wasn't a good BBQ sauce like cold water and no flavour .My friends mixed grill was also terrible he didn't enjoy .
- Norman (8/5): Nice and hardy location for us - Did not have any ?
- Eloise (3/5): Wouldn't stay here again. - The bed was large, comfortable and clean. We were put in the annexe in a disabled room, which as an able bodied couple, wouldn't recommend for a disabled person. The bathroom floor was slippery when wet. The door to the room wouldn't have even fit a wheelchair through it.
The annexe is like stepping into a care home as the decor was dated and poor. Doors banging throughout the night. We were given 2 bath mats for towels. Luckily we brought our own. There were no toiletries to wash with, again, luckily we had our own.
The staff were lazy and not very welcoming As if we were imposing on their time. (Aside from the gentleman on reception on Saturday evening who was very polite)
The WiFi wouldn't connect I ended up connecting to the NHS building next door instead.
There wasn't a hairdryer, just an iron and ironing board.
Tea and coffee facilities were minimal.
The room was very dark and 3 of the lightbulbs were out.
I think the photographs advertised are very misleading as our room was very dated and the armchair was filthy.
Paid for 2 nights, we stayed for 1 and checked out early as it was that bad.
Wouldn't stay here again I'm afraid.
- robert (8/5): A nice comfortable stay . We slept well and had a lovely breakfast . Will definitely be back - Looked attractive. Lots of original feature
- Shady (4/5): -
- Gary (9/5): Enjoyable - The location to our son’s care home, the value for money, always friendly staff The way you enter through the front door and the inner door, we call it the Brentford shuffle.
- Charlotte (7/5): -
- Karen Tracy (8/5): - Comfy queen size bed. Great breakfast. Friendly staff Rooms a bit tied but overall good value for money
- Paul (10/5): -
- Paul (9/5): Excellent value stay with fabulous welcoming staff,in a great location for our trip to an event at the Sheffield Arena. - The rooms were. Very clean and comfortable.
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming , working really hard to make a relaxing experience.
- Tim (9/5): Nice staff and convenient location - will stay again -
- Dode (10/5): - Everything is good
- Lynne (9/5): - Lovely friendly staff
Always stay here No negatives
- Phil (10/5): - Staff incredible
Really clean Nothing
- Maz (10/5): The standout feature here is always the staff. - The standout feature here is always the staff. From the hotel team to the restaurant, everyone is friendly, approachable, and genuinely helpful. What makes the experience special is that they do not just wait to be asked — they anticipate your needs and check in thoughtfully. I initially chose this hotel for its convenient location, but there are plenty of options nearby; I continue to return because I am always guaranteed a warm welcome, consistently excellent service, and a price point that makes it accessible when I need to stay locally for work.
- Philip (9/5): -
- Ralph (8/5): -
- Nicola (7/5): This hotel is great value for money, the lady on the front desk will always go above and beyond to help! Great location - Its location, the fact that there is a restaurant on site, a good price for an overnight stay, lovely friendly ladies on the reception desk and taking food orders! Very hot water which took some fiddling with so could have a shower, no air conditioning so it got hot at night, a hard bed (it's just my opinion, the rest of my friends were fine with their beds), but of a grumpy guy on front desk!
- Jason (9/5): -
- Graham (9/5): Great place, super building and excellent staff. Shame about Booking.com being absolutely useless - The building is lovely with a super bar and restaurant. The staff were superbly helpful and kind. My business meetings were facilitated well. Booking.com are completely bloody useless. If you ever have the misfortune of trying to use their customer services system, just don't bother. My best advice would be to deal with the hotel directly and avoid this useless bunch of priXXs. Unless you enjoy and have the time to deal with AI Bots that seem to have nothing to offer
- caren (9/5): Absolutely perfect thankyou - Perfect for our stay great pub excellent food very good value lovely room very clean quiet great location would recommend without a doubt breakfast was superb lovely layout and exceptional service thankyou guys highly recommended x
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): - Lovely stay for one night. Nice clean room and a really comfortable bed. We use this hotel regularly when we visit relatives and we have never had any issues. Nice friendly helpful staff whatsoever time we have booked into afternoon or evening,
- Jason (10/5): Value for money excellent - We stay regular good choice of beers and food and comfy beds Unfortunately the breakfast starts a little bit too late for us at 8 oclock as we are fishermen and we are up and out for 745
- 1 (5/5): -
- Maz (10/5): -
- Ivan (8/5): - Relaxed Could have done with a makeover in some ares
- Mellors (10/5): - Everything
- Natalja (10/5): - Everything, and special Everything in one building, rooms, restaurant/pub, bed is really comfy for this my additional Thank you. I travelled by public transport but they have really big parking. Public transport, bus stop just opposite. Nothing

Quiet place None
- Stephen (10/5): - Friendly helpfull staff great room lovely and warm Nothing didnt have the time to sample the menu boot looked good value
- Macfarlane (10/5): Fantastic stay, I will be returning. - The staff here went above and beyond, I couldn't be more grateful. Nothing to not like.
- Carol or Kevin (7/5): Perfect place for a quick stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. - Had restaurant attached. Also breakfast was included and made to order! Tough accessibility and not great signage.
- Aisha (2/5): Poor not recommended - The big man at reception is very rude abrupt knows nothing about customer service.. he actually made my child very uncomfortable and upset.
- Ron (9/5): Excellent accommodation that was good value for money. - The Inn was well maintained and clean. The staff were friendly and the room was excellent. The breakfast was ample with both continental and cooked options. It was also very good value for money.
