Guest Reviews
- JODY (6/5): Main Bedroom needs aircon and proper sheets/pillow - Apartment was great for family with a very large living/dining area. Unfortunately the aircon is upstairs and the bedrooms are downstairs. The main room was very small and the beds are so hard, it was quite uncomfortable without aircon and so we tried sleeping upstairs on the lounges! Pillows are also huge and too big! It’s unfortunate as the facilities are excellent.
- Katherine (10/5): - Great location! Loved being able to walk everywhere. Coffee in the square early in the AM was grand. Little pastry shop there too.
Expect to do lots of steps but worth it. (All the town is one big stairmaster with steps all over).
Staff was great and helpful. Stored our bags after checkout.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location - great flat -
- Harrison (10/5): - Loved this place and amazing location inside the wall. Great value for money!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Space and amentes were wonderful. Wish was less steps to get this place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location and nice staff. The apartment has their own kitchen and was clean!
- Rita (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay at Apartments Foteza. Its location in Old Town is convenient, yet you need to be prepared for the many steps up to the apartment. However, this is common for many places in Old Town. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The space is compact, but works. Their is one split AC in the main room, so it needs to run a while to cool the air in the bedroom. Their is a small kitchen setup, but we didn't use it. Checking in and getting the key was much easier than anticipated given the intructions prior to arrival.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - Location was very good, apartment was nice nice. The only thing that we didn’t like was that the bed seemed to make us both feel extremely itchy & so we didn’t sleep very well, not sure why this was.
- Liz (10/5): Superb self contained apartment - Within old town walls. Very close to night life but far enough way to be able to sleep at night. Tip - Part of the beauty of the old town is that nowhere is accessible by car so you need to carry your case, so make sure It has wheels. Shower amazing. Clean. Staff great. Loads of hangers. Extra blankets. Fridge. Hob. Free WiFi. Beds comfy. Towels provided. Loved it. If I had to really scrape the barrel for negatives, best I can come up with is the lack of kettle, toaster and hair dryer (how very British!). Hugely recommended apartment
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Great stay at the apartment. Good location, beautiful town and good facilities.
- Hayley (10/5): Studio apartment in the heart of Old Town - The apartment is situated in the heart of old town. It is an amazing location with just a few minutes walk to the old town shops and restaurants and extremely close to the famous buza bars with cliffs to jump into the refreshing ocean. The apartment is equip with all things needed for a stay in Dubrovnik. Staff were extremely helpful with information and tranfsfers. Highly recommend.
- Thomas (6/5): Good Value for Money - Great location in the Old Town! Prior to arrival, we had excellent communications with the owner/agent to organize a time to get the keys for the apartment. When we arrived at the Dubrovnik airport, we called, emailed and texted the owner/agent to let them know the coordinated time was still good. We received NO RESPONSE and we sat in front of the apartment for an hour waiting for the key...after traveling all day. We eventually got a hold of someone at a different phone number to give us the key to the apartment. I asked for someone to call us back to let us know why no one met us and they said they would; we received NO RESPONSE back. Good value for money but be prepared to be frustrated on arrival...even when you coordinate everything in advance.
- Paul (8/5): Lovely apartment in the old city - Clean and convenient apartment inside the old city walls. Not as well appointed as some but didn't matter as we were always eating out in the beautiful old city of Dubrovnik. Warm welcome and a hassle free transfer from the airport organised by friendly staff.
- Chris (6/5): Good location but needs some TLC - As per the other reviews, the location of this apartment is up many steps. If you are able and willing to do the steps, it's a good location. Please make sure you have a plan to pick up keys ahead of time (where and when you will meet etc.). It's a cash payment in Euros and it's hard to find Euros in Dubrovnik. We alerted to apt. agency to many things that were either not working or broken. Hopefully they have repaired everything by the next time someone stays.
- Graham (6/5): Central apartment. Lots of stairs - The apartment whilst central is up a lot of stairs which was not included in the description. Taxis don't go into the Old Town had I known this I would have researched it's location better. After eventually finding it there was no one there to pick keys up from (I was told there would be). I was told the fridge doesn't work but would be fixed tomorrow (Sunday). The TV and lights in the living room also didn't work. Neither did the hostess's email address as I discovered when I tried to inform her of this. The fridge was not fixed Sunday as I was informed on Monday 'they don't work Sundays'. I was told it would be Monday it wasn't so I had to call again and was told it would now be fixed Tuesday. On Tuesday I requested another apartment. This was dealt with promptly. I checked the fridge and assumed the double bed was either 2 singles or had a sofa bed underneath it. Silly me in fact the double bed was a sofa bed. My Mother and I had to share a bed. Not ideal!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, spacious and clean. Great view of the old town. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
- Ashley (2/5): No Air Conditioning - inaccurate description - This place was actually quite nice, a good size, and was recently renovated. However, we do not believe that the description on hotels.com fairly reflected the place as both the website and our conformation said that the room was air conditioned, which it was not. This wouldn't normally be a problem, however it was very uncomfortable given that it was about 38 degrees during our stay, and it was hotter inside the apartment than it was outside.
When we contacted the management company regarding this, they didn't really address the issue: instead, they sent us a link to their posting on Expedia and said that it did not show air conditioning. When we pointed out that we booked on hotels.com, they didn't seem to care at all.
I have just checked their posting at hotels.com and, despite our conversations, it still shows that this room has A/C. It's too bad that the service is so bad as the location is actually really good (inside the walls of the old city but near the outskirts so not busy with people) and the room was spacious. Would not recommend this place during the summer months.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location, could've been cleaner. - Great apartment on 2 floors. Lots of staurs to get there so not good with heavy bags. All waa great except for the cleanliness. Found an old bathing suit and a lot of dirt under our bed which had obviously not bewn cleaned for a while. The location was excellent within the walls.
- love to travel (2/5): 100 stairs to misery - After climbing over 100 stairs with luggage you get to a room with no A/C. The bathroom is so musky you can't stay in there with the door closed. The door room beds do not have mattress pads. Only one bed had a top sheet.
The floors had not been swept or cleaned since the previous guests. One bed had an empty water bottle under it. The other had dirty clothes under it from the precious guest
The bathroom and bedroom light bulbs did not work ant they had to come fix them.
The room looks nice and could be nice with some TLC. It was in the d town and that was nice. The really should warn you about the steps though.
I travel extensively for both business and pleasure and this was the worst room I have ever stayed in.
- Capella (8/5): Self catering studio apartment, old town - Great communication by email from the owners prior to trip, meaning we knew where to go and who would meet us. We were met at the drop off point from the shuttle bus and had help carrying suitcases to the apartment (no vehicles in old town so you need to walk there, up a fair few steps). Zoran was friendly and helpful and gave us his number in case we needed any assistance during our stay- he was happy to store suitcases in the upstairs apartment on our final day and carried them down to the Main Street for us. The apartment was perfect for our needs, everything we needed for the week. It's a studio, but quite spacious and comfortable, even the sofa bed which we thought might be a problem was fine. For the low price we paid we were very happy, this is not luxury but does the job as a comfortable, well located base perfectly.
