Z9573WJbrians (2/5): Rude staff - We are very familiar with Cozumel Mexico. We clearly understand the accommodations are not the same as in the States. Which is perfectly fine with us. But the staff at the restaurant inside this hotel was extremely rude. I tried very hard to kill them with kindness and tip very well. Nothing seemed to work. They refused to take an order, serve us coffee, come to the table. I would have to stop the coffee girl and dang near beg for a coffee. Maybe she would come back with a cup or sometimes not. The hotel is what you would expect at this price point. But the rudeness and lack of customer respect is beyond acceptable. Hopefully the manager reads the reviews people are posting. Most negative post about bello caribe include the same complaints I have described. We did just roll with the rudeness and enjoyed Cozumel. But I cannot recommend this hotel

waytoohot (4/5): Mismanaged hotel - The hotel was mismanaged, and they misunderstood us every time they got the chance. The inkluded breakfast was dissapointing. The pool was dirty. The rooms were dark and We did not receive room service at any time, even though we continuously and specifically requested it.

thomasbkj89 (8/5): Good location and great beds! - Good location near the center of the city, but far away enough to be quiet. Supermarkets and stores close by and free parking lots. The employees are very friendly and service-minded, and the beds are great with plenty of room. Only improvements could be a bit cleaner bathroom and bigger breakfast, but nothing that bothered us, and more than fair compared to the price.

JasonTWashington (6/5): It was clean and the pool was nice, the rooms are kind of weird though - Im not sure if all the rooms are like this but our room was weird. There were two bedrooms so the place was huge but the in one of the bedrooms there was like this little closet all duct taped up and in the bathroom the soap dispenser was broken and the shower door wouldn't slide and like 2 out of 3 times there was no hot water. The location isn't great, its way away from the beach and the restaurants are quite aways away as well. You have to walk like a mile and a half from the ferry. The air conditioning came out very cold though so that was good and it was clean. Not bad and a great value for the money, it was less than $50. Just super weird.

Camas y almoadas comodas y limpias. El desayuno es continental pero lo puedes completar con la carta costo extra muy rico. Habitacion muy amplia

The bedrooms are quite large, shower with hot and cold water, air conditioned, fan. You can also manage a very rich breakfast managed by a separate owner. The staff working at reception is really nice and loyal. El hotel es realmente libdo, superlimpio, habitaciones comodas con aire y ventilador, ducha con agua caliente y fria. Si quieres un desayuno rico lo puedes conseguir a precio barato von un paquete. El staff que trabaja en la recepción es confiable, es cierto

Sarah (8/5): Cheap but doable - It was a neighborhood hotel with few perks but we were planning on going out and about so it worked for us. The breakfast was AMAZING!!! Best breakfast we had the entire vacation.
Pioneer787970 (2/5): A bad choice for me. - I was the only Guest for a month. What little hot water was available was by solar panels. I was woken each day by workmen pounding cement and put to sleep by night security dragging his cleaning pail across the floor all night. The AC started to leak and I was comforted by the drip, drip of water into a five-gallon pail. No taxi service, no place to lock up credit cards and passport for beach time. There was a constant smell of excrement around the pool all the time. This is a creepy little place I felt unwelcomed in. The lack of guest during this high season echoed my experience. The restaurant brought food I did not order then demanded I pay for it.

Mark (8/5): Nice hotel with an amazing staff! - My family and I went to Hotel & Suites Bello Caribe for three days in July. First - the staff was amazing. Polite, and helpful. They would help you with your bags, call you a cab, make recommendations for food, shopping or entertainment. Even the staff at the adjoining restaurant, Los Mocajetes, were helpful. Juan in particular was a blessing to have around. As for detractions, we saw only two: 1. In spite of its ads, it does not have a laundry service. The closest service is 1.1 miles away. 2. It was several blocks to get to the shopping district and some of those blocks were a bit rough looking. Having said that, the area around the hotel is decent and we got a 3 bedroom suite (holds up to 8 people) for a great price that no other decent place on the island could beat.
RobertSDF (4/5): A Very Different Place - If I had to describe the place in one word, it would likely be creepy. I recently needed a place that was not expensive well I was doing some remodeling. This place was inexpensive but I can say little more good about it. First, upon arrival ,I found it a bit difficult to locate the office. Once I found my way through the maze the check-in was easy. I was given a room in the rear portion of the hotel on the second floor. The steps were steep with wobbly handrails. The room itself was adequate. The main problem was the lighting. You had a choice of extremely bright lighting or nothing. I also found it rather strange that I was given a second floor room in the rear yet I never saw another guest in the hotel. Not sure why I was given such an inconvenient location. In contrast to the room , the area outside my room was almost total darkness with little lighting. In spite of the low price I would hesitate to recommend just hotel to anyone. A poor location and poorly maintained.

av475 (10/5): Off the beaten path gem! - Our family of 9 stayed here for a week! We had 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with a small sitting area. The rooms were very clean and the owners were very friendly. Our kids enjoyed the small pool. We had breakfast most mornings there and it was delicious! We enjoyed playing games in the open air lobby area at night. There is a large area that would be great for a large celebration or wedding reception. It was a bit further from town than we expected but we ended up enjoying the walk each day as well as an evening walk to a restaurant down the road called El Picque...Soo good! If you are looking for a low key, quiet, very clean family run hotel stay while on the beautiful isle of Cozumel this is the place for you!

You could tell it was pretty old but the room was comfortable. I would recommend it for those who don't need luxury but want some space. It was great after a week of hostels.
Verified traveler (6/5): Please read before you book - The staff are wonderful, so friendly, and polite. English is not strong. The hotel is very outdated. T.V. had 4 channels, no English stations. Breakfast only. Beds are hard, but staff work hard to ensure rooms are clean and sheets are changed. No shampoo, conditioner, lotion or blow dryers provided, so bring you own. They did provide bottled water. Ocean is within walking distance, area doesn't seem the best but we walked at night and felt safe. Price was high for this hotel, but the staff was the reason we stayed, very friendly family.
Eoddiver (6/5): Wonderful staff! - This is a very basic hotel that does not have a lot of amenities. That being said, I chose this hotel because it was cheap and I wanted to stay in Cozumel longer. The staff is wonderful and will do anything to make your stay better. The room was clean and the restaurant was very good. When I travel alone, I do not need much for lodging and Bello Caribe was perfect in this aspect. This is not a romantic getaway hotel. But, if your looking for a good place to stay for a low price and a trustworthy staff; this is the place. I plan on flying back to Cozumel in five months and will be staying at Bello Caribe. Again, I can't complement the staff enough. They are the reason I am staying here again.
Scooter (10/5): Wonderful Staff! - The hotel staff is wonderful! They will go above and beyond what is expected to help you. I had problems getting ahold of person I was scuba diving with, and one of the staff members let me use her personal cell phone. The restaurant is amazing, I wish I had ate there more. This is a very basic hotel with few amenities, but well worth the low price tag. This hotel is perfect for people looking to stay in Cozumel for cheap, and would like to still be within walking distance of downtown and the sea. Really it was only a 15 minute walk from the ferry harbor.
tslotnick (6/5): Pay after your stay - This hotel is nice and a few blocks from the airport so do not pay for the shuttle. It is far enough from the touristic zone that one will get a feel of the culture, neighborhood and people which is nice. The place is clean as are the rooms. The food is great as is the service but the owners are a mess. If you pay for your stay upon check in, they will not refund your money should you decide to check out early. Also, twice I asked for an early morning wake up call and only once did I get one. For the second one, the owners were downstairs in the restuarant blasting music and as drunk as anyone could be. For this, I did not sleep so no wake up call was needed. There are far better places to stay at on the island and a better deal (with breakfast) can be found.
pachangera (10/5): Excellent value for the price - lovely hotel - I was quite pleased with this hotel. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant had good food and room service was available. My room was clean, comfortable and well-appointed. Also, the neighborhood is away from the hustle and bustle of down town which was nice. I would stay here again.
