- Thomas (6/5): Beware!! - Beautiful property and facility. Didn’t get to stay long enough to enjoy it. Had major issues with original room ad we were moved to a smaller less desirable location and room. This one had no sitting area or fridge and the shower had empty dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and bath gel. Management did not respond to my communication. Thought we might get a discount of some sort for all the issues and problems-NOPE!! Unresponsive!!

- Rebecca (6/5): No ac working and no one fixed it but very nice - The resort was beautiful, we especially loved the treatment we received from most of the staff especially the cleaning staff we had as well as the restaurant staff they were fantastic. The complaint I have is we had no ac in our room both nights of our stay- we had to extend our stay one more night and asked to have the ac fixed but nothing was ever done the room was extremely hot and the only time someone seemed interested was when we checked out the nice lady at checkout apologized and said she would have it looked at. We were told by front desk both times we asked they would send maintenance but no one ever fixed it and it was unbearable to try and sleep.

- Thomas (4/5): Not going back!!!! - It was really hard u need a gps to get to your room it’s so big a the workers wasnt to helpful with helping us find it, another guy staying there had to help us. There was also a lot of the things to do there that were closed and this was mid summer when they shoulda been open. Someone charged $100 breakfast on our room so when they went to their restaurant there they don’t make you give a name or show ID just the room number, that definitely needs to be changed. Wonder how many people that happens to an they don’t catch it like we did. When we called they did say they would refund it so waiting on that. It’s just so big an everything is spread out all over, you either have to drive or rent a golf cart or take their trolly (we drove) everything is extremely expensive so make sure you take enough money before going, The morning we were leaving there was a housekeeped guy that was faded out (high as heck) all leaned up on his cleaning cart

I was allowed to check into the room 1/2 hour early. I had a meeting I needed to take so letting me do this was very much appreciated.

The bathroom sink did not drain properly, the plug in the tub had to be removed manually so when taking a shower the water is not fill up to my ankles and knees... I did not complain or report this I was only there for one night but if it would have been more than one night I would have asked for a room change. Staff was very nice friendly property was great breakfast was awesome.

- Sherry (8/5): - Oglebay Park has always been one of my favorite places. Wilson Lodge has updated some of their rooms. Although we stayed in the updated section of the lodge, the room was still old looking in the bathroom and small in the bedroom. Just need to rearrange/redesign the rooms.

Thru outside door, across lobby to elevator, down another corridor to another elevator and down a long corridor to last room in wing. First day we got lost every time we left our room. Several restaurants not open yet for season. Expensive stay. Enjoyed zoo and pool.
- Christy (8/5): - I always enjoy coming to Oglebay for the Easter festivities with my Grandson. We love the Good zoo, playgrounds and Swan paddle boats. It can be confusing getting around in the hotel, our room always seems so far away-LOL! Restaurant was ok but expensive.

- Phillip (10/5): - Just returned from another wonderful stay at Oglebay Resort, and once again, it exceeded my expectations! This continues to be a fantastic destination for our family. The room we stayed in was clean, comfortable, and noticeably updated. It was a welcoming and relaxing space to return to after a day of activities. My son absolutely loved the pool and the game room. These amenities were a huge hit and kept him happily entertained during any downtime we had. It's great knowing there are such enjoyable options on-site for kids. A highlight of our stay was the breakfast buffet. The selection was amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from, and I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced it was. It was the perfect way to start our mornings. Overall, our experience at Oglebay Resort was once again exceptional. The combination of comfortable accommodations, excellent amenities for children, and delicious food makes it a truly enjoyable getaway. We can't wait to plan our next stay at Oglebay!
- Brandon (10/5): - We had the red panda experience booked at the good zoo, and decided to stay at the resort after. Check-in was incredibly easy, and the receptionist that checked us in even gave us a free breakfast! The facilities were clean and easy to navigate, and the indoor pool was clean and a pleasant way to wind down after our day! Will definitely be back to do some golfing on at least 1 of the many courses there!

- Heather (10/5): - We had a nice two-night stay here. My kids enjoyed the indoor pool area and game room. Our room was clean and comfortable. We found the breakfast buffet at Skyline (extra charge) each morning to be worth the money. It was delicious. We took advantage of the decent weather and explored the property. We would stay here again.
- Stephanie (6/5): - We chose a newly renovated room as a treat. I loved having a balcony overlooking the grass and trees. However, i was not aware that the hotel had prison labor or halfway house labor. I was only concerned not knowing this and our room was missing the security lock. Room was not fully finished there were holes in the tile where the tub meets the floor and wall. Unfixed holes from old towel bars. The kuerig did not have a power source where iy was located so we had to move it in and out of the cupboard. Bed was off center of wall. Many exposed wall outlets with old covers. The room was really clean, however housekeeping staff were singing and yelling loudly, which woke up my baby several times. Front desk staff gave a very chilly check inn. The are is very clean and the restaurant and bar had the best service with exceptional food. Very fresh vegetables and each meat cooked phenomenally. The grounds are beautiful and it is like an oasis, just for the price they are missing some key hospitality points.

- Rae (10/5): Great little get away - The only option available to book was the part of the lodge that was not updated. We asked for an upgrade at checkin but they were not able to accomodate. Instead the front desk staff provided free breakfast for our stay which was very generous. Loved my spa booking and the staff in the spa. Enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. We got the same server, Willi, at both breakfasts. He was so nice and made it a pleasure. Everything needed was onsite. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our stay at Oglebay was wonderful from start to finish. We booked a vacation for ourselves, our 20 month old and my parents. It was perfect. The restaurant and its staff were professional and accommodating. The hotel staff was fantastic. We had a problem with our room heater and they changed the whole unit within the hour! The pool area was wonderful and we swam 2x a day. We took our son to the environmental center, the horse stables and on a stroller walk on the gorgeous property through the snow when it warmed up a tiny bit. Route 88 Burgers was great for dinner one night. We didn’t visit the zoo because it was too cold out (10-20 degrees all week) but I’m sure it’s great. We stayed on the first floor of the Byrd wing close to the pool and our baby monitor even reached the Hickman Lounge area, so the adults were able to play cards, sit in front of the fire place, and visit when my son was napping or after he went to bed. All in all, a perfect, relaxing stay. We would love to return in the summer months and stay in a cottage or chalet and use the outdoor pool complex too. We highly recommend Oglebay for families!

Parking was not good, their was not enough parking for the event guests and people staying in the hotel.Resibations made on line and not the hotel web site get the worst rooms not happy at all about that situation. I really can't recommend anyone to stay at Ogelbay especially for the price.

Second booked 3 rooms and didn't put us near each other had to call and get the rooms switched around.Next one of the rooms had empty condom rappers in it. Also if your room is next to some screaming kids, you will hear everything and lastly the beds are extremely uncomfortable and dust everywhere in our room.

- ARLENE (10/5): - I stayed to go to the Holiday Dinner and Show which was great. It was also crowded with nowhere to park. My boyfriend is elderly and cannot walk long distances as the hotel room, was several blocks away from where the dinner was and show. I had the last handicapped parking spot by my room entrance. When I drove him to the show someone took that spot and I had to go around back and make my way to the front of Wilson lodge by the lake for the last handicapped parking space. Somehow I made my way through the halls and to the elevator to the dinner that was still going on but it is confusing and easy to get lost which I found going to get the car after the trolley tour of the Festival of Lights, I learned one can stay inside and get to my room but I could not get out the door to my car. I had to walk all the way around which I did not mind it is an enjoyable walk, but I had to leave my friend at the bar where he was about to have a drink and really join the rowdy party and he is 94 years old. I f you get driving around hunting parking spots at night especially, there is this paved road that goes up the hill like one of the regular roads and many of the roads are narrow single lane. It goes to the top of the hill to Wilson Lodge but at the top there is this cement slab not too high maybe six inches with two cement tire tracks and another drop of six inches at the end I hope it did not bother my car because I took that road and went over it to get that parking space.

We lost electricity for about 3 hours right over the dinner hour and the only thing offered was the high priced buffet. Fortunately we sat at the bar and was offered a salad. Nice place, won’t go back.

The only negative thing I could say (and it’s not a big deal) is that some loose trash bags were left on the floor of the living area. But we just put them in one of the cabinets so no big deal. The staff were all super friendly and dining at the Skyline couldn’t have been better. We will be making this a yearly excursion for my husbands birthday on a yearly basis!
