- Suzanne (2/5): Thoroughly disappointing for a place with such promise. - location good, well placed on Cleveland Way route. Disinterested staff on arrival.
Bedroom provided no seat, and not possible to sit upright on bunk bed. Too few seats available in community space for number of guests, had to wait over an hour to sit down in a chair in the warm. After walking for 6 hours in rain with back pack this wasn't a good experience.
Our room was on second floor. No kettle available apart from in community kitchen two floors down.
Expelair's for toilets and showers constantly on/off, difficult to sleep without earplugs.
Food choices disappointing and no assistance with food intolerances when help requested. Breakfast on offer good, but plates, and therefore food, cold.

- Cindy (10/5): Definitely stay here if you can! What a great Youth Hostel in an amazing location! - What an amazing location - directly on the inlet from the beach!! The room was really cute, clean bathroom, super nice staff and good wifi. Though it was filled with families, they were all beautifully behaved and easy to share the space with as an older couple. The fire downstairs was great, and most of the little ones vacated around 8pm, so it was easy to find a place to sit, eat and play cards. Definitely recommend!! Car park was at the top of the hill, but that is the point for an active holiday!
- Rachael (10/5): - Lovely setting
Great rooms very clean
The food is great and the staff are lovely Nothing not to like
- Soozysoo (10/5): Brilliant Boggle Hole - Lovely friendly staff. Great rooms - clean, spacious, comfortable and great value for the price. The beach is on the doorstep. Very relaxing bar and a good range of meals on the menu, should you choose not to self cater. There was nothing that we didn't like.

- Robert (10/5): Boggle Hole YHA - Beach in front of you, chilled cafe with log fire and beautiful lighting. Away from the crowds of Whitby and Scarborough also a nice walk to Robins Hood Bay either via beach or high up on costal path All good. Maybe wifi as it can dip sometimes
But I came to get away from technology
- Pipwhit (10/5): A very happy toddler - Fantastic visit. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The whole team went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, and the level of care and attention really stood out.
They made a genuine effort with our toddler, especially at breakfast, where nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you to Peter, who took the time to make our little one a fantastic breakfast, all while expertly catering for a school group of 57 children. That kind of effort doesn’t go unnoticed.
It was our toddler’s first trip to the seaside and his first stay at a YHA, which made it even more special for us as a family. Seeing his excitement exploring somewhere new, combined with the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, made the whole experience one we’ll remember for a long time.
The setting itself is brilliant, and paired with such thoughtful, hardworking staff, it made for a truly memorable trip. We’ll definitely be back.
- robert (8/5): Tranquil, convenient and clean - Its location was ideal for our requirements and very tranquil An unlimited breakfast should not be served , but allow the customer to help themselves

- Alistair (10/5): - This place is a bit special. It's a stunning location for this cosy, welcoming YHA. Log fire and a well stocked bar. Clean kitchen for DIY cooking or food available to order. £10 breakie with kids eating for £1 was great value. Lovely walks to be had on the coastal path or along the beach searching for fossils and crabs. Will definitely be returning

- Sinu (7/5): - Ambiance, staff and location Facilities...
No towels, no soap, no mirrors, and no plug points near the bead
- Charlotte (10/5): Converted to yha 100% - The location was absolutely stunning, the facilities for the price were unbelievable. The breakfast was lovely and the coffee was great!! 10/10 100% will be returning! The mattresses weren't the best but given we usually are a camping family the beds were a nice change!x

- Kamila (10/5): - Just came back from my stay at YHA Boggle Hole Hostel — what an amazing place! The location is simply stunning, hidden away in a little cove, far from roads and crowds. It’s so peaceful and quiet, the perfect spot to unwind.
The staff were fantastic — really friendly and helpful. I ordered some food and enjoyed it by the fireplace, which made for such a cosy evening.
The room was good and comfortable (for that price - perfect) I’d definitely come back again! Walls were a bit thin, so I could hear people walking to and from the toilet. Other than that, everything was great
- Wayne (10/5): -
- adrian (10/5): -
- Sarajane (10/5): - Wonderful location, amazing food and loved the open fire. A fabulous stay Only thing was there was a dreadful draft coming through the window - i had to hang up a spare duvet to stop the cold coming through. I understand that the windows and cold can't be helped so we happily dealt with it
- Damian (10/5): comming back - Great location and great staff. Parking
- Andrea (10/5): Beyond my expectations - Everything Thin walls but to be expected
- Yong-Goo (10/5): Unplanned family trip - Almost everything you expect from a place to stay: facilities, cleanliness, friendliness, location and value for money. Nothing, nothing & nothing.
- Charli (9/5): Fabulous hostel, great location, excellent value for money - We absolutely loved this hostel, such a perfect location and brilliantly decorated. Lovely family feel right from the outset - and the gorgeous bar with a proper fire was such a cosy place to come back to of an evening. The only minor issue with the hostel was that the bathrooms weren't replenished with toilet roll over the weekend so some cubicles became unusuble by the sunday. Thankfully there were plenty of other WCs to use so it was never a big problem.
- Samantha (8/5): - We loved the property and location, staff were very welcoming. No lighting after dark to the car park
- ken (10/5): Amazing visit, the location was perfect and the hostel had great facilities. - The layout and that it was near a beach. Nothing, it was an amazing stay.
- Hamill (10/5): -
- Inga (9/5): -
- Iliya (7/5): Great - All good I suppose to have different room
- Fabrice (9/5): -
- Caroline (10/5): - Fantastic location, really cosy pub and super friendly staff
- Ellena (10/5): -
- Eszter (6/5): Great location, very friendly staff - Great location, right on the beach. Staff was really friendly and kids ate for £1. Very noisy room above the communal area. Although they sell earplugs so the second night we slept better.
There was no hot water one morning to shower.
The 4 person room was very small for a family of 4.
- Julie-Ann (10/5): A.perfect secluded getaway. - All of the staff were.polite informative and friendly. Nothing, all was great.
- Katarzyna (9/5): -
- Tomas (9/5): -
- Joanna (10/5): - Friendly staff, very good position, blazing fire.
- Anthony (10/5): wonderful hostel - wonderful location, beautifully restored building, environmental ethos, friendly and kind staff, quirky decor, good facilities, woodburning stove, good self catering kitchen. Nothing, everything was great
- Tina (10/5): - We've been here countless times and it's always a wonderful experience, from the second we get there to the second we leave. This is not an issue with the staff at Boggle Hole. As mentioned, we've been here countless times. The menu seems to have been chopped dramatically with the prices rising quite considerably. Very little choice these days. I don't know if this is to encourage more people to take their own food or just the general cost of products going up, but the food....and drink, was way more expensive than last time. My son asked for a slice of cake.....£5.25 seems a little excessive. Like I say, no reflection on the staff at all.....they are polite and funny and extremely helpful always.
- Andrew (9/5): Fun relaxing - The property was clean and with great little features board games great design and location Just the dark walk down but can’t say it was a problem added to the excitement

- martin (9/5): -
- Claire (10/5): The best place to be. Kids loved looking for crabs, playing games and enjoying the sea. Gorgeous - We love boggle hole!! All fab
- Shaun (10/5): The real deal for a short family break. The stars were amazing seeing the Milky Way. - Location is amazing (the real deal) the steep hill back to the car park but well worth the walk to this off the grid location
- Tasselli (8/5): -
- mark oliver (8/5): -
- sarah (7/5): Ok - Location Breakfast
- Daniel (10/5): - Great location for a short stay. The staff were very friendly and the property was very clean. We would definitely stay again if back in the area.
- Georg Vogt (8/5): - The location is great. The restaurant is good. A great and special stay on a long hike. Somehow YHA ran, at least this summer, a reverse dynamic pricing. We booked early and paid a lot. Same room was 40% cheaper, closer to travel date. Given families are main clients, this is a questiianable strategy.
- Claudia (8/5): -
- Ewen (10/5): Great little place - Stunning spot, loved it Nothing
- IBRAR (1/5): - Honesty.
- james (10/5): - Unbelievable location, one of the most picturesque places ive stayed

- Helen (10/5): Our experience here was unique, fun , chilled . - The location is just perfect . Such a beautiful unspoiled place .
- Katie (8/5): - The location has to be one of the.best. Absolutely stunning and such a lovely walk to Robin Hoods Bay. Very noisy fire doors such a shame as the facilities were lovely and so clean just so difficult to open and close them quietly without waking people up.
